Our last day in the area before we head home tomorrow. A beautiful day to find some more caches here. Found with Earthlight and Shandyk, and signed the log EGS. Did the ant stomp while signing, so they couldn't get on me. TFTC.
Out caching around Mildura with friends. Logged as EGS. We loved the caches we found and the first roads we travelled along the way.TFTC
Gotta say Im not sure if I love this one or not thats a mean place to place it TFTC
Taking a few days off work so I can get away to Mildura for a long weekend. My first time in Mildura so lots of geocaches to tackle to keep me entertained. Perfect conditions to be outside and geocaching. This short trail of caches with high favourite points was high on my to do list. I was not disappointed. Every one unique and well crafted. Certainly put a big smile on my face. A favourite point from me. Thank you Deputy Washawa, for placing Ant Hill Snap for the geocaching community.# # #15391 # #
#5610 Wicked spot to put down a cache. Geohounds did not hang around gz for long after some hopping about. Ant Hill Snap is not their favourite game as it turns out. Mr BGF risked life and/or serious injury by completing the find here. TFTC Washawa, another masterpiece deserving of a fave.
Quick find amongst the bushes. This time I was sprung by a train load of commuters. Trap has unfortunately seen better days. Cheers for the find.
Quick easy find with muggle husband. Think this has seen better days. Might need some tender loving care. TFTC TNLNSL
Found by Aussie Train Driver 12/06/2024, find number 1783.Third find for the day whilst driving from Mildura back to Melbourne. Quick find, thanks for the effort you have put into the series.
We were not sure what the contraption at GZ was about, but w3e were pleased to sign the log. After the rain yesterday afternoon and during the evening today dawned cool, but with sunshine, clear skies and little wind.We headed out in the morning and did a range of gadget caches out from Red Cliffs. Some great entertaining fun which we enjoyed greatly. How can we go back to searching for 'bisons in the bush' although we have not come across these in Mildura! In the afternoon we headed into town and tackled a number of Ad Labs, multis and trads. We even managed a Wherigo. Great locations and really interesting things to see. The Murray is quite a big river with lots of interesting features to check out.A great day caching.Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Washawa.**SKI Pair****
Thanks to Washawa for this hide.A favourite from us.A cute container.Found late in the afternoon.
Found while having a look around the area today, staying in Mildura for the week. Interesting hide, cache name makes sense, cheers.Find #6886 on 16 Apr 2024.TFTC Washawa!
Day 2 of our trip from Adelaide to the Canberra Geobash Mega Event. Travelling from Werrimull to Hay and grabbing a few caches along the way. Ok Peas did not like this one, I have a phobia to bull ants after they crawled inside my brothers plaster cast and were biting his foot, back when we were in primary school. Quite a frightening experience. Not to mention they are drawn to me like bees to honey and if I dont RUN they will be all over me. So I sent Carrots in to retrieve this one, while I stood stomping the ground doing a rain dance. But TFTC anyway Deputy Washawa
TFTC out on the geoscooter with Algae on his geoeuc grabbing some smilies in the Mildura area. Decided to have breakfast in Mildura then hit some caches. A great day out. lol walking around there the ants start running quickly. Cache container will need to be replaced not water proof.
I was in the area after attending the Adelaide Leap Year Event and naturally after caches. This was a quick find while visiting Red Cliffs. Thank you Washawa for placing and maintaining this cache. I am awarding it a favourite point.
Another nice find with woolwood9 today. Busy day on the PS trail but called in for these caches on the way back to the motel*Thanks for putting this cache out for us to visit.* SL *tm/ww NZ*Soon located. Plenty of ants so kept moving as quickly as possible here!
Picked this one up during the PS power trail on the way back to our accommodation at the end of the day.Enjoyed the containerTFTCSigned log *tm/ww NZ*
Tftc Deputy Washawa, the creative caches in the Mildura area are outstanding. Just as well we have a few favourite points to spare. This line of caches are all exceptional.Favourite point even with the ants
There is literally a bull ant nest under the themed container. Quick find.Out with Mogni for a 3 day weekend, leaving friday morning and coming back sunday night. The plan was to go to Cowangie in Victoria and then head in to Murray-Sunset National Park then head on to Mildura and come back via Rufus River road ( in New South Wales ) to South Australia. Night 1 was in the Murray-Sunset National Park at Mopoke Hut camp ground and Night 2 at Mildura then going back to Adelaide. It must have rained recently in Murray-Sunset since the sand wasn't like fine power as expected and other sections of the National park had bypass tracks around the water filled ruts in the main track. Going around one of the bypass tracks i staked a tyre on the friday but didn't notice it to saturday morning. The stake went right beside the tread and the inside wall of the tyre, the stake was the size of my finger tip. Also turns out that i got a screw in my rear tyre thrusday night leaving work. There was alot of reinflating tyres this trip. The flora change in the national park was surprising but i figured that is due to weather or not the ground was sandy or muddy. When we got to Mildura we targeted the 2 multi's mogni wanted to do and of course they were the ones with 7 and 11 stages. After that we targeted the caches with high amount of favourite points and then left the next day via New South Wales so we could get the virtual at Lake Victoria and some of the older 2003 around the border track. A good weekend away 4x4ing.
Sir_spectre and I decided we needed to get away for a few days, so off to Murray Sunset NP and Mildura we went. Not a huge number of caches were found, but we had a great time exploring the NP. We fixed anything we could. Thanks to Washawa from mogni
We can see how this cache got it's name and we certainly took notice of the hint. Luckily a quick find. TFTC
Our journey to North Queensland will take us through many different towns.
Here's one to find today. Thank you for placing the cache Washawa.

Day 14 of an epic 2 week trip with the kids to the Eyre Peninsula. Home today but a few quick caches first - I was told about this trail and it did not disappoint! All were absolutely fantastic - all get a fav point! Thanks for helping us finish the trip on a caching high! Here’s to more fun and adventure!
Standing admiring the cache, didn't notice all the ants at my feet

Day 2 of the Mildura Adventure and we are collecting the rest of the Paddlesteamer geoart plus some interesting caches with lots of favourite points around the area. Tftc
Today was our second day adventuring together in the district. Out to tackle the Paddlesteamer and as many other amazing caches as we can with a lovely bunch of Canberra friends! Always fantastic to be able to get away for a long weekend of caching together. Loved the red dust and the crazy caching trails. Thanks for all the hard work from COs make and maintain these caches. Called our trip the Mildura May Adventure so signed as MMA or MMA23 today. Great to be caching with you KLSARC, GLISS! Albida33, Kittykatch, Barb2e, Joolay, Tankengine, DTY73 and youban. Thanks for a great weekend everyone. Thanks for the cache.
Found while on a fabulous weekend away to Mildura to complete the Paddlesteamer & Turtle geoarts, and various trads, multis + gadget caches. The Canberra crew included Nibletricecakes, joolay, kittykatch, youban, dty73, tankengine, barb2e, Klsarc & albida33. We signed as Mildura May Adventures 23 (MMA or MMA23). Unless otherwise mentioned, all caches were quickly found. TFTC.
Southern Autumn adventure Day 50. Mid North section of SA trip Day 21. Mount Barker 1. Today and the next two days are really transitional to me getting to Mildura in time to do the Paddle Steamer with friends from Canberra. In the meantime I had a day around Mount Barker area today. There was light rain on and off, but it was not much of a problem. I tried to find the multi's I worked out the numbers for yesterday and had a load more caches on the list that went from smoothly to very problematic. I had to skip a whole section as the only access road we being re-surfaced. It was a long and quite difficult day at times, but with that comes a sense of achievement with what was found. I finished the day with dinner in the pub in town and had a great night !
Just don;t stand still.

Another cache find on our 2022 South Australian Adventure, yes I know we have wandered over the border. Never mind, it is a wonderful day and we have joined forces with FelixII so we are off to see what we can find. Thanks to all the COs for taking us on this geo-guided tour.
Full time nomads visiting Mildura to finally tackle the Paddle Steamer with iluvtrekking. Of course we have to stop in town and find some caches here before we go 'bush'. Great weather and a fun day out today.

Hubby worked out how to get into this one, as I was looking for the hard way, haha. Sad to see this series end. They've all been excellent. Thanks so much for keeping up busy for an hour and very enjoyable. Tftc.

#18740. With Robmc at the end of another day doing some of the Paddle Steamer. Taking a different route back to Merbein and Rob mentioned a number of gadget caches along this road. Well what a great way to finish the day. A favourite point of course for the creativity but not for the ants. But we were warned and we did take note. Success without pain here today.
Thanks Washawa

Another day in Mildura with BettyBoo3747, and the second day on the Paddle Steamer trail.
We had stopped early on the trail, and were heading back into town, when we came across this little series.
A nice change from the trail, and a great series of caches.
We missed doing the Wild West as there was a muggle right across the road burning off in his field.
We didn't miss this one, but fortunately the ants missed us. Quick buggers!
Thanks for this whole series, it was fantastic.
Thanks, Robmc.

I’m having this week off as others at work had the Easter break off so it was my turn and another trip up North to Mildura was planned.
I was able to leave Melbourne nice and early to get a few caches in on the way up to Culgoa.
So after a great feed and a couple of beers and of course great accomodation at the Kaneira Hotel I headed up towards Mildura to see how many I could find in the Paddle Steamer series.
I managed to find 115 and 165 in the last couple days but the uni joint in my right knee has finally said enough is enough with all of the getting in and out of the Geocruiser so it is time to spend a casual day around Mildura.
I got up nice and early to attend the Dawn Service at the park and it was great to see so many people there paying their respects.
After a wander around town and then completing the Turtle series which was the second reason why I came back up to Mildura it was time to keep my wandering around.
So after crossing the mighty Murray river for a few and then crossing back again so now I’m back on home soil.
Making my way back to where I am staying but I was given the heads up to do all of the new to me caches along here.
Now I’m not if I should praise you for this clever cache or hurl abuse your way for this one.
I made my way to GZ and missed getting the cache on the first try so after a bit of jumping and swatting I went in for the second time and retrieved the cache then more jumping and swatting I then signed the log and thought to myself not again as I should just throw the log at the ants.
Replaced the log and then made sure I was ant free before getting back in the Geocruiser.
Not sure why but a fav is coming your way for a great cache.
Thanks Deputy Washawa TFTC

The cache was found in the last place we looked, which as usual was not the first place we looked. Thanks for placing a fun cache guys. We do love your work. We signed the logbook. Of course we did that is way we play this game. Cache in pretty good condition for the cache age.
I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count.
This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and a Samsung S8. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs...
Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun.

Oh my gosh! Beware of ants alright! They poured out and started to attack with a vengeance! The "snap" part of the cache was a bit of a hindrance as I couldn't quickly open that lid and grab the container without the little buggers scurrying all over my boots! There should be a "dangerous animals" attribute for this cache!
Thanks Washawa.

Didn't find and hills but I did find the ants and the cache about the same time as they found me. Sadly the ants didn't seem to be overjoyed at me standing on their home. Cache OK. TFTC.

#12989 - 6:16:00 PM; Day 3 of the Wang Mega tour with Sol de lune. We didn't quite get to Echuca last night, but we did enjoy comfortable accommodation and a great meal at the Falcon Hotel on the highway right next door to the Downunder Dunny. After collecting that cache, we set off for Echuca and a spot of caching in and around the town, avenging a couple of GCA DNFs from our previous visit. We then hit the Murray Valley Highway again as we headed west before turning onto the Mallee Highway near Piangil, then the Calder Highway at Ouyen for our next overnight destination, Mildura. As we closed in on Mildura, we took a short detour for this series of caches along Millewa Road. We certainly weren't disappointed and happy to add a favourite for the effort.. TFTC Deputy Washawa
After a couple of great days in and around Wang at the Mega, followed by a drive to Echuca, LuckyL10n and I were now on the road from Echuca to Mildura. The plan today was to stop for a few selected caches...those that looked good, those with a few favourtie points..as well all the regular and large caches we could find.
Left Echuca around 9.30am, arriving in Mildura around 6.00pm. All caches we attempted were found, apart from the one that was completely burnt out, so all up a good road trip. Now home
and it's time to log.
This little series nifty hides were a lot of fun. A lot of effort has gone into producing the caches and they certainly brought us a smile....even the couple we had to sit and figure out.
Thanks to Deputy Washawa for the effort that went into these. Great fun!! Fav points for all of them.
