WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 7 - Jamestown to Whyalla via Caltowie , Melrose, Wilmington and Pt Augusta. I spent the morning doing a caching lap of Jamestown, including a previous DNF. Then I was on the road. I managed to stop regularly and in each of the small towns I passed though to do some of the caches along the way. As I went further west it began to warm up. I was very cold In Jamestown last night. I did some Labs in Melrose and in Whyalla before getting set up for the night and going on a short tour around town. With no one playing here today, and the mower man still getting set up by his shed, I went to this structure and soon saw an item that needed checking and I was very happy to find it had a cache log in it. A very nice way to hide a cache here. Thanks for the cache DennisC5246495.10 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & 2007 Compass Rose Gold A#76**Albida**
After checking the structure eventually noticed something a little different. Great camo. TFTC
2nd time lucky. I'm glad it wasn't here before so I didn't feel so silly not finding it last time..
Checked today, and it has been muggled. I will replace it tomorrow once the glue sets lol.
This was supposed to be a quick drive by on the way home from Arkaroola. We were attracted by all the favorite points, but sadly it has illuded us this time. TFTC anyway.
Very clever favourite point. Male chatterbox located it.
Why not get a pasty for lunch in Peterborough then head found to cache for today in Jamestown. Really well lived town. Cache all good.

Travelling with iluvtrekking up the WA coast to Darwin, down the Centre and in the Flinders. Basing ourselves in Peterborough for a few days to grab finds in the surrounds. Tricky and clever hide - favourite point for sure.
Travelling with richlink from Perth to Darwin up along the west coast and home again through the centre and the Nullarbor, picking up caches as we go. This is a very clever hide, a fave point from us.
Day 3 of my short Geocaching weekend. Today I left White Cliffs Reserve zigzagging along the way finding what caches I had not found and ended up stopping in Yongala for the night.
I wasn't going to do to much here in Jamestown until tomorrow but seen the "Park and Play" name and wanted to see what this hide had in store. Another great hide.

Full time Nomads since March 2014.
Having been in Perth to visit family our stay has come to an end and we are on our way to Broken Hill for the Mundi Mundi Bash.
Stopping in Jamestown to catch up with Sylken. Luckily we were also able to catch up with Chrispy89 and Honeysucker. [^] Today we headed out between loads of washing to convert as many local caches as possible.

Grabbing a few more caches while staying in Jamestown.
We looked long and hard for this one in some light drizzle but eventually Mr sylken made the find.
This one deserves a favourite point from us.
Many thanks for the hide DennisC52

I came past here earlier in the evening and footy training was on, back later and no one was around so was able to search for the cache, I soon spotted the nicely hidden item and cache was signed
With a few days off back in Adelaide I decided to head to the mid north again after still having some caches to find up this way from my last visit 2 weeks ago, nice to be driving around on the back roads exploring new places and seeing the country side.
Thanks for the cache

Peterborough to Jamestown
While towing the caravan we stopped along the highway where it is safe to pull over.
Once we had dropped our caravan at the camping ground we did a tour of town following the geocache trail. This was a good way to visit town for our 1st time.
Another great hide that works perfectly here. FP given

Second time in four caches that I have seen this clever hide. The village fair was on today.

After 4 hours of rogaining, we decided to find a cache or 2 on the way home. This one almost had us fooled! TFTC.
After 4 hours hiking through the bundaleer forest what else do you do on your way back to camp but find a geocache. We searched the wrong end to begin with but soon zeroed in a little better, I searched in all the wrong awkward spots while Tweety2 made the find. TFTC!
Tricky hide - just like one in Spalding I found yesterday - so cool
Thanks for the cache, DennisC52

Found cache in wrong spot and plastic bag and logbook about 6-7 metres away towards fence and partly wet. Manage to sign it and replace in correct place as per coordinates.
A bit puzzled here for some time, until one of those last looks spotted the cleverly camouflaged container. Points for ingenuity from us.
I was in Jamestown for work so I found a few caches while I was here. Great camo on this cache. Favourite point from me. TFTC Dennis
Was getting extremely frustrated and very close to logging a DNF before playing a well known sesame street game and having a Booyah moment. Loved this one! TFTC
We went got a drive to pickup some boots fro
Jamestown did a couple geocaches and I thought I logged them as we drove around finding snd signing not so. Something g happened but now I’m logging for us TFTC

The Non Wangaratta Event Tour 2021!
Covid has postponed the Mega in Victoria until January but leave had been granted for AnyMules to attend with me and Bushfire. So Anymules and I went on a tour to Eyre Peninsular and mid north South Australia instead whilst Bushfire joined us in spirit only as covid meant he couldn't come here either. Not needing anything for my yearly goals I hoped I didn't add too many to the DNFs [B)]
DAY 5: Exploring some mid north towns.
What excellent camo. Took us quite a while and several laps of GZ until AnyMules found it. I think I walked straight past it 3 times. Gets a FP for fooling me. [:X][:X]
Only one of the three goals from last year achieved. So once again trying and fill my calendar with multi-caches and complete loop 11 again this year. [^] For my third goal I will try and get my DNF numbers from over fifty to single digits. That should keep me busy again this year! [:o)]
***Thanks DennisC52 for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. ***
Logs prepared and published through GSAK.

After a morning with froghoppin and kellygang doing what cachers do... had to go find some more
Mr Frog kept me company while I cleaned up Jamestown - again !!!
Much appreciation and another fav to DennisC52 for hiding this "not a mint tin" cache on our SA geo map game board
---
Geocaches are located and logged using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S20+, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or often with just plain old dumb luck!
---
Please do stay safe when caching.
Lookout for mud, snakes, surprise cliffs, wild goats, wombats, bulldust, and lightning,
try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins... but especially lookout for bugs. [xx(]
Make sure Travel Bugs are the only bugs you share and pass on
We really appreciate all those placing quality caches out and about especially away from the city crowds,
it keeps our game safe, fun, and interesting

Another smiley face added to our maps.
Thanks for sharing this location with us, looks like more work is being done on one of the buildings, a renovation of some sort by the looks of things.
