Here at midday and amazed that the whole reserve was covered in mist. Taught at Macleans for 30 years and never seen anything here like this at midday. Thanks for bringing back memories of years at Macleans
Even though this is a difficulty 1.5 it is very hard for me to find. But I found it It was inside a small green container and I missed it but then I came back and found it TFTC!
Staying nearby for the weekend and we walked up here today and picked up a few caches. Lovely walk, TFTC
First find of the day was nice quick and easy on a beautiful day lovely location with beautiful birds TFTC!
I have been visiting friends in Auckland and Northland for my xmas and new years holidays, and tomorrow I have to start the log slog back south again. But after all the rain we have had over the last few days, it was great to see the sun back today, which meant I could go and try for a few last caches before the trip home. It's been a few years since I was last up this way, so I thought I'd look to get a few of the caches that have been published since then. I was hoping for a quick find, but that's not how it panned out for me. I did end up make far more of a meal of finding the cache than I ought to have done. Basically I approached downhil, when it turns out the far easier route in is from uphill. But once at GZ the find itself was immediate. No real issues to report here, so once I'd signed the log the whole lot was replaced ready for the next finder. Thanks for setting this cache up, and Happy New Year for 2024
I stg I searched every crack in the tree until I found it... and it was in the most obvious crack!!! Tftc. Log book definitely needs replacing though.
I am out and about out East Auckland way this afternoon taking advantage of some rare fine winter weather to get some exercise and some finds. I parked up at the end of Charles Dickens Drive and followed the trails around to this ground zero. I managed to spot the hide from the track and therefore swoop in for a super quick find. Cheers for the cache placement!
Found! Looks like it fell onto the ground. Replaced where I imagine I wants to be. TFTC
Quick find thanks to a good hint. Such a beautiful day to be out caching. Tftc
Nice quick find whilst taking a leisurely stroll down to the beach to get the Eastern Beach part of the Auckland Beaches adventure lab. TFTC.
Grabbed a nearby cache to keep my streak alive (I think it's 107 days now) and thought I might as well get another one. The gps was a bit bouncy but there was really only one place it could be. Found it quickly, which was good because there was a family not too far behind me on the path. Thanks!
Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I now live full-time in our caravan & travel the country visiting places we want to visit … we are now parked up in Auckland visiting with family … decided to visit some of our old haunts & do some of the walks in the area … thought it would be rude not to check out a cache on the way … found with no issues, log book signed & replaced … pleased to add another 'smiley face' to the tally … TFTC ... TN:LN:SL ... #2,511 for us.
Out and about early in the morning before it got too hot. Taking a nice stroll with Greenkiwikid the youngest around Bucklands Beach. Easy find, the hint really helped, it could have been pretty difficult otherwise. Signed as team Piraten.

NZTravellers, myself and Keylev decided to have a little get together and have dinner! However, Keylev wanted to make sure that there was indeed some caching activites to be had before said dinner! Really, you needed to ?!
NZT found this quickly while dodgy doggy doo doo. "Crack" is debateable. TFTC

Keylev and B4Dawn were childless this week so we had been making the most of it and caching every afternoon and evening after work. This was day 4 and the Eastern are was decided to be our area to cache.
Found it easy... beware doggie doodoos

As luck would have it NZTravellers, B4Dawn and I realised that all our other work and social commitments aligned to give us some free time this week so what better way to put this to use then some afternoon / evening / night caching the WHOLE week!!! This is day 4 so by now the early work starts so that we could finish early and have more afternoon caching time was kicking in so instead of aiming for big numbers we decided to get as many as possible and then head for a nice leisurely dinner to round the evening off.
After a short wander across the field we found the cache fairly quickly after dodging the doggy do that someone had left behind
Thanks for the cache.

Mrs stik-a-crane was in the area today as Uber for the teen whom was attending college for exams, and needed something to bide the time, so decided upon a walk in the park......

Spotted something in the tree when I was standing in the clearing and sure enough it was the cap of the bottle. Made this one harder for ourselves by going in too far.

Another great hide here!
Was walking through Macleans one day and saw that after a long time of no new hides, someone had decided to hide one.
So here we were tossing up which way to get to it (took a while) but eventually worked out the most direct route and very quickly found the nicely hidden cache.
All in good condition, thanks for the maintenance here.

Interesting that there's dog poo bags hanging on many of the trees... I guess somebody is being nice for those who may have forgotten one! Nice quick find at GC, TFTC!
Had to jump of the trail, not sure if they were demontors or death eaters. Fortunately we found the portkey in time.
A Sunday afternoon walk with the doggo.
We took the long way round to GZ and massively over thought the approach, cutting corners via the thick bush.
After prodding in the wrong clearing I spotted the only place it could be and walked round the corner to the correct GZ and we had the cache in hand.

Out today enjoying the slightly warm sun then hot sun. Where are my shorts when you need them. I have my e-bike in the car, I have done 2 adventure labs on the bike, done a few caches here and there and now I'm here.
This cache took me ages! Every time I looked at my phone, I thought I was at the correct tree, naaah... cache not there. Finally when I thought I would look down the hill further, looked to the right and just 2 meters in was another likely looking tree and sure enough this time I found it, the pill bottle was still in the tree and not on the ground as some have said. Looks like my phone caught up with me, co-ords spot on!
Thanks for the cache astronella, I almost logged a DNF on this one!

Been nearly a month since last find, and it was on floor (possibly due to wind) so replaced in tree crack TFTC
A quick find before heading to lunch at Bucklands Beach.
We didn’t manage to finish the Harry Potter themed multi which used to be hidden around here so are pleased to see this Harry Potter themed cache has taken its place.

I was out in the area with Supernanny and Jag50. We parked up nearby and made a short walk to the cache where Mrs Jag made a quick find. Then it was back to the car and morning tea of Grownup Donuts that I had picked up on the way east
On a girls day out with Supernannny and Merlot58 we detoured to find this cache on our way to Howick. A short walk from where we parked our cars and we were at gz. While S/N checked out one tree, MrsJAG checked out another on the other side of the path and soon found the little green cache.
Thanks astronella for your first hide!
Was out on a fun geocaching day with merlot58 and Jag50 and this was my main target for the day !
No problems here....

Scoped the area out earlier whilst running and found the likely area. Back with Phil after tea to make the find for dot day! SL TFTC
out with agazo today, 2nd tf, where is everyone, didn't quite find it where it should be but we fixed that minor problem, tftc
My wand was in the shop, Ollivander's to be precise. He was having trouble find a good quality phoenix feather to replace the well worn one I had. So without the aid of my magic, I had to use other techniques. These didn't produce the cache until I looked down and found the cache on the ground. I replaced it in an obvious spot for the next finder. TFTC.
Wow, a rare FTF. I was over in Mangere Bridge when this was published so carried on caching out there.
By the time I got back to Highland Park at 11am it was still unfound. So drove on over to GZ. What a busy track with dogs! I counted 10 that passed me while I waited to search here & there.
I eventually searched just about everywhere, when I finally found it & a blank logsheet.
