Went for a drive, thought Id get the app out, bingo. Easy find no pen, but, replaced back. Great spotDaughter loved it
another quick and easy find. log is full on the front so had to sign the back, and slightly water damaged so will need to replacing soon. thanks for the cache
A wrong turning had me out here, may as well get the caches pout this way! After starting the day doing the first 10 in the PATOGs I found 3 more at the Gawler end before attempting to reconstruct Anna, or Tommy. Good to be caching over this way again. The last full day in town after my original plans to stay til Monday were changed. I had some admin stuff to tidy up before I could think about doing anything for myself so those were attended to via some messaging to and from NZ. I headed out for a walk along the cycleway besides the Expressway and managed a first few PATOG caches, esp nice now the weather has dropped to a much more palatable 19 -25 degrees for the daytime, yay. Following that it was back for some more work stuff before heading out to Gawler to head around the delightful Anna Tommy series of caches (and collateral extras). I was lucky that a recently made acquaintance was able to help me with the series of solves, thanks sooooo much for that. Then it was time to cache in the richness and make the finds, I was not disappointed. And so South Australia, so long and thanks for all the cache(s). I think this March will be my most bountiful month since I started caching, not bad considering I missed out on 3 days, by choice, and today is only 20th of the month. Alas my NZ pickings are slim so back to a more sedentary pace of finds. One last time, thanks to all the COs whose finds make this game so awesome.
I am needing some exercise so thought the Patog by bike would be the way to go.Brrrp!! Wrong!I got to 61 where I aborted due to running out of fuel, water (I only carried 2L) and enthusiasm. I mean, really, what kind of twit does a long distance cycle in 35 degress? My kind of twit, apparently.Still, if it wasn't for the weather and the lack of fuel, I did enjoy the ride. Loved the information boards and the walking/cycling quotes along the way.
Found with Pprime` as part of our Mega Leapday adventure.Thankyou for the entertainment here.
Found with T4mmmy on our Leap Mega Adventure. Thanks equipe de cinq for entertaining me at this location. *{Overall find #12241}*
Took the mobility scooter with me and made a start to get some of this Port Adelaide to Gawler trail done, as well as some adventure labs. Most caches were in good condition, but some are starting to get bittle making the top to break when undoing. Collected 39 over the couple days and 30 adventure lab caches. TFTC
James0116 and I had been talking about the PATOG series recently
As a result, it was deemed that today was the day for us to try and ride some of it to collect the caches on the way[^]
It seems that my new pushbike (without electronics) is a pretty good fit for me[:X][^] as by the end of the day I had ridden almost 22km[:X] from Gawler to Waterloo Corner and found 26 caches
The next half of the PATOG will bring me more finds as I've not found any down the Port Adelaide end, yet
Most of our ride was sunny[^][:X][^] with a bloody head wind making riding even more fun I did end up wishing that I'd chosen to start at the Pt Adelaide end instead of the Gawler end
About 4.30pm, we got rained on and combined with a now freezing wind[xx(] and a lack of sunshine, our now dampened bodies and spirits gave up and called 'day's end!'[xx(][xx(][^]
My lovely sister[:X][:X] had agreed to come and pick James up from wherever we ended up and take him back to his car[^][^], while I waited with the bikes until he returned in his car with the bike rack[^][^]
There I was lying on the ground, talking to kmace on the phone, while it rained on me[}:) I was cold, wet and chilling down fast![xx(]
James was back sooner than I had expected though and the car was beautifully hot inside[:X][:X]
A final short drive to Bolivar and I had Cappucino and donuts to warm me up[:X][^] while James had donuts and Maccas
Most of the Gawler end caches had spot on coords[^] However as we got closer to Waterloo Corner, we needed to spread out away from GZ to find the caches[?] Green growing things made finding the caches much harder and sadly there was a few DNFs for James0116 on some of the caches which I had already found.
Really pleased to have finally cleared this end of the PATOG[:X]
Now to see when the next chapter occurs!

I’ve been doing the PATOG series bit by bit for a number of years. Today I was riding up to GAWLER so grabbed a few more along the way. While some caches and logs were in good condition, there were quite a few caches that had disintegrated, were missing lids, had wet logs or were just MIA. I didn’t have any backups to do maintenance but it might be worth a maintenance run for this trail. TFTC.
Southern Autumn adventure Day 44. Mid North section of SA trip Day 15. Gawler Day 3. The weather was quite a bit better then the last few days, and it was time to get out on the bike trails to do some PATOG caches. I managed to go too far for my poor scooter and had to walk the last three km's back to the car. Other than that today's section of trail went pretty well, much better than sections later in the week. After that exercise was over, I went onto some back roads for solved puzzles and other miscellaneous caches I was able to get to before I ran out of energy.
Thanks for the cache equipe de cinq

Covid everywhere. Geocaching Reach the Peak challenge finishes in 3 days.
What if?....
What if one of us wakes tomorrow with a sore throat, goes and gets tested, tests positive and we all have to quarantine for 7 to 10 days.

We've successfully completed all stages of the geocaching challenge so far. We'd miss the final Everest Summit and the meta souvenir. Let's go and finish the challenge now - in the dark - just to make sure to get it!
We finish tea, make sure we've got the bag and head off to the PATOG to get 4 trads. Challenge complete.

Found by brisal5, TeamAstro, thewhitedoggang and Featherwaite, signing the logsheets with the acronym BAWF. Being cool, cloudy, no rain and with light winds, it proved a great day for a ride along the bikeway. Thanks for the cache and series equipe de cinq!
GENERIC LOGS FOR PATOG series! [8)][8)][8)]
Time to attack the PATOG series. [^] So the calls were made to find a group to take on the ride and a group of brisal5, Astro, WhiteDogGang and Featherwaite were available. So the acronym BAWF was formed to sign the logs. We chose Tuesday 8/6/2021 to make the ride but the forecast of a thunderstorm, continuous rain and howling winds caused the newly formed BAWF to balk and we delayed until Friday 11/6/21! [B)][B)] What a great day for a ride, overcast, a nice cool breeze and not a drop of rain to be felt. All caches were found in good condition except, one that needed a new cap (done) and one that needed replacing. (also done) Great day had but I felt like BAWFing by the end! [:o)][:o)][:o)][:o)]
Only one of the three goals from last year achieved. So once again trying and fill my calendar with multi-caches and complete loop 11 again this year. [^] For my third goal I will try and get my DNF numbers to single digits. That should keep me busy again this year! [:o)]
***Thanks equipe de cinq for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. ***

Stay safe when caching. Watch for snakes, random cliffs, wild goats, bulldust, and lightning,
try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins... but especially lookout for bugs. [xx(]

2020 turned into 2020won, and 2020too is on the way! 2020free should see us through
Still important to observe social distancing when possible, (150 nano caches apart should do it)
Still important to wash your hands (always has been really [:o)]
Still very important to look after each other and take precautions & get checked out for even the tiniest sniffle or cough, or unexpected headache! [8)] [B)]
Still even more important to get some fresh air and exercise while we can, so get out and cache the country!
Thanks so much to all those placing caches out and about away from the city crowds,

When we looked for this one on the 8th we couldn't find it and thought it might be stolen but started thinking after the last 2 we found for the day that maybe we didn't look properly and sure enough there it was exactly like the other 2. TFTC.
This is the third series of caches we've found along the NEXY [|)] and it's been awhile since we've ridden the bike track . Have to say the place is looking like a dump these days (with enough bags and buckets lying around to clean it up as well) [:(!].

TFTC i am feeling deja vu walking some of these caches as I walked this same path with a pram and a close friend when it was the nxy power trail. Great day out, to get a few caches with master 4.
We started the PATOG series today, we are working backwards and managed 111 to 93 with geokids in tow. Nice series, TFTC. HouseofJones
Claiming a cache find as part of the awesome beta testing cache placing crew for this super fun cycling series. All of the PATOG caches in the series have been found many times so our work must have been good. Kudos to anyone who does the full end to end ride in one session and collects them all. If you run it or walk it then you get extra bonus kudos.
Eventually some time in the future when the rail access is restored to Gawler it will be possible to catch the train to Port Adelaide, ride with the wind to Gawler, and catch the electric train home. From Patog one to Patog eleventy first. That would be awesome.

Big walk today along the PATOG trail. Another 20’or so ticked off the list almost half way now. So that means I’ve almost walked to Gawler from Port Adelaide now, seems slightly mental. Hopefully will get the series done this winter.
Was a nice day for a walk until the banana cake energy wore out then had to pop into Gawler for an energy refuel and to get my target multi for the day.
Big day out for only 25 finds was shattered by the time I got home but think the exercise did me good. TFTC PATOG crew.

Out for a long bike ride with Uni and Medusa along the Northen Expressway and beyond. We parked a vehicle at each end and took the mountain bikes along the trails - 48.9kms and 115 caches in around 5 hours.
The bike trail allows one to see a lot more at 20kmh than whizzing past in a car at 110kmh. There is interesting WWII history in amongst the market gardens and salt flats. I really enjoyed the massive redgums and lushness around the Gawler River. On a hot day one would want to take plenty of water, there isn't a lot of shade or facilities along some of the stretches.
This cache was found at 12:45:00 PM and was 101 of 102 finds today.
Apologies for the generic log but it is a powertrail. Thanks equipe de cinq

Out with Tallbikestan, allister w, JJ52, azzo and mogni. Todays target was to do all of the PATOG Series using bikes or power assisted bikes. Getting dropped off at one end and getting picked up at the other end. The only problem we had was the one cache that needed a ladder, Tallbikestan's bike was just too short by about 1/2 foot. Easy found with the ladder deployed. i never got to complete the last bike trail, i only ended up finding about 11 of them. We even had a lunch break about 3/4 down the trail. A fun but tiring day out.

There had been discussions between Freddo, Davidwazza and myself to place this series for quite some time but never got around to it till the other day. Finally we set off from Gawler and made our way to Port Adelaide riding the full 49km and enjoying the path as we went. Placing bee caches and removing the old series. A great day out despite the rain to start us off. I hope people enjoy the new series and a lengthy bike riding series.

Had other things on when these were published and decided I'd have to leave the FTFs for others. Initially had all today clear for caching and was wondering if I'd attempt the whole lot. Something else came up so I decided to settle for half, and am now thinking that was a very good idea. Doing the whole lot in one day, for me, I think would have been a mistake. Kudos to OzGrumpy for managing the feat.
All 57 caches looked for were found, some quicker than others but all in a condition reflecting their age. I'll be back for the rest.

Today was dedicated to the newly published PATOG 111. I managed to complete the whole series by push bike in one day, yes that’s from the first to eleventyfirst. All hoovered up in a day like a whale gulping plankton. Collected 15 FTF which was nice. A highlight of the day was meeting other cachers on the journey, nothing like bringing cacheroachers out of the woodwork with a teaser of FTF. I met Malco, Csaba, two turtles, a lovely couple (larayugal) and a Hurtle. Thanks equipe de cinq for the cache and series. Fantastic work.
*FTF* @ 11:33
It's windy, cool and there are some brief showers. Incredible weather for February, and on the long uninterrupted walk from 111 back to 101 I was reading how some cachers are Citi g the weather as a reason for not coming out.

Today, I had organised with Freddo and gridge98 to ride the Northern Expressway bikeway to complete the *Nexy Challenge* series geocaches. We rode the full distance, and then in the afternoon, jesswrigley and I visited the south-eastern end of Cleland Conservation Park and took a few walks around the area. The day began cold spitting a little, but towards the afternoon, it turned out to become quite warm and not too hot; almost the perfect day to be outside and hiking.
Freddo, gridge98 and I had set off early to complete and collect the *Nexy Challenge* series, and concurrently, we stealthily placed the new version 3 series: the **PATOG** Port Adelaide to Gawler series. A discussion was had 6-9 months previously about arranging a day, and with my time running out of Adelaide, it turned out that Australia Day became our collective free day. Magnets were purchased, and cache containers were prepared. However, we ran into a problem early, as our plan to use magnets was thwarted when the sign poles were aluminum, not steel. Who would have thought that the frog's kryptonite would be metallurgy today? Nevertheless, alternative hiding places were found, and the series was rolled out. It was a significant session riding the 49 km, but at least they are now available for the community to find. Thanks equipe de cinq for the ongoing maintenance of this series, and hoping that this version can last longer than the previous two.
Note that this geocache was beta tested on 26/01/2021.
