With Christmas approaching, my bathroom scales are quivering in fear at thought of the damage my usual Christmas excesses might bring. I have been attempting a pre-emptive strike on my waistline. So when Seffnjarah suggested we go chasing few lonely hiking type caches, I enthusiastically agreed as it seemed a good way to up the step count.I had a late night last night at a concert, so Seff was left in charge of todays cache target list. He decided that a Hinterland Hilltop tour was in order - and selected a number of the Gold Coast Hinterland's finest hills for us to climb.Having climbed our last hill nearby up to Bally Mountain Saddle, I was pretty cooked and made Seff promise for park and grabs on the way home. Just like this one. With a recent DNF, we were confident of a find, but I pleasingly put my hand on the sneaky cache, precisely as per the hint when we arrived. Replaced as found. Nice one. Many thanks Aussie Liahona Pete#8,129 @ [13:07]
A morning out with T4mmmy. Couldn't find this one, despite a really good look around, in, under and through the 102.
After stopping for lunch at The Hunted Cafe in Bonogin Valley, delicious food highly recommend. I made a stop here and found the cache on the ground. Put it back in a suitable location and sent the CO a photo so they can move the cache if required.TFTC
Plenty of room to pull over if you are ready. Can't see the bell from the road anymore due to the hedge that's been planted. I did peer through though as I wanted to see and then a quick P&G and off I went
We loved those little spot which was right on our path today, and interestingly many other times that we hadn't realized. Interesting relics of the old driveway and a new bell added to the fascination, so we're dropping a FP.
Caching the area this morning with my son and we decided to detour to a few down this road. I managed to squeeze off the road enough then jumped out leaving my boy in the car.
I wandered over and spotted the bell over the fence, grabbed a photo then it was down to business. I narrowed it down and soon spotted it. Reached for my pen and realised I left it back at the banana's cache, doh. So I went to jump back in the car when I saw the neighbour coming down towards us. Not sure if he was going to check the mail or come and get up me but we took off. I made a u-turn up the road and doubled back but I couldn't see him.
Just reading a past log now and noticed someone has spoken to him about it.
Thanks again AL

I see you there, relatively new Aussie Liahona geocache on the map! And this afternoon while geocaching around the Currumbin area, I notice you not far from my route home. I shall happily make the detour and hopefully a quick find.
After setting my navigation and trusting Google Maps through the estate roads and many, many roundabouts, I wound up near GZ. It was an enjoyable drive of course and the whole point of me being out this afternoon was to be out and enjoy being out. Which I was doing and feeling generally better about life as a result.
There was just enough room to pull off the road in my tiny car. I checked the listing and hopped out for a brief hunt. The hint lined up nicely and with a quick flash of my phone light inside, I made the find. I signed my name at 17:40 and replaced as found.
Now, a moment to look at the bell and the grounds behind the fence. That's something worth quickly stopping for, for sure! As I drove off, I noticed the very big, very expensive-looking gates were closed. But that's ok, I've got my smiley and now on my way home after a few hours of geocaching, driving and looking at trees. Thanks for this geocache, Aussie Liahona

Found in the today. I was stumped for a few minutes but then with the aid of a I spotted the cache. This ends my streak of 27 days as I return to the tomorrow.

Nice temple, but they really don't want you on their grounds. Pity. Took a photo over the fence all the same. TFTC
Today, the morning consisted of a a planned solo hike at Bally Mountain. An awesome yet challenging hike with great scenic views around the vicinity. I then started to make my way back north through Mudgeeraba, completing *Mudgeeraba History* Adventure Lab and grabbing a bakery lunch.
On my return back to Brisbane, I stopped at Toohey Forest Park in Nathan where I joined jesswrigley for a walk around. An enjoyable area with some nice lookouts of the mountains in the distance.
I initally made a stop here on my way towards Bally Mountain, but after 15 min of searching, as well as the fact that I had parked at the entrance to this property, and someone had arrived and wanted to go through, I decided to defer my search on my way back towards Mudgeeraba.
However even then, I still wasn't having much luck, despite taking several steps back and considering how the hint should be pointing to this hide. After receiving some advice via a PAF, another search finally allowed me to make this cache find - the area has been considerably overgrown by vegetation, and so although the hinted item is still present, it can barely be seen and thus not helpful at the current time. A tough find, but I am glad to have it now off my list. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. The bell itself was pretty cool too, and at least it provided cover for my stop in grabbing a few photographs. Thanks Aussie Liahona for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Out enjoying some socially distant caching after surviving the latest lockdown thanks to The Covid…
The description even mentions parking issues, but this was where I lost phone reception so pulled up blindly… once I found somewhere safe to park I made my to GZ… the bell must have worked a miracle cause phone reception came back so I could check the hint… ahhhh… then it was a quick find… tftc…

Out and about caching down on the Gold Coast from Brisbane for the day. Arrived at GZ and did the necessary look around. Love the hint, but what does it mean. Found cache and signed log. TFTC Aussie Liahona
First find for the day and spotted after a short look around. Interesting area to visit - thanks for bringing us here.
Nice location we snooped around from outside seeing as much as we could. Thanks Aussie Liahona
