Reperio 08:09Up early this morning for a full day of caching around the Yass and Goulburn area, and the rain that was predicted the day before well and truly arrived. In and out of the car in short bursts carried on throughout most of the day until later in the evening when things settled down. Most of the caches were found in good order today. Today was the day I was aiming to achieve three things 1000 caches in 2024, 7000 caches all up and 200 caches in a day (my previous record was 121). Easily achieved all three in 13 hours between 06:00 and 19:00. Was a glorious spring day on the back roads around Yass. Most logs signed TE5 30/9 to save time.Back to the last leg. Parked and a tenth of Canberra drove past while I signed the log.TFTC DARKSIDEDAN

17-Jul-22
On a nice winters day with a cold breeze in the air me and IamCoust did a geocaching run around Yass and Murrambateman, driving on quiet unsealed roads picking up parts of the snake, lizard and frog series which dot the landscape out here. Most caches were easy to find so it was mainly a numbers game which was both pleasing and tiring at the same time.
Some caches we considered very near peoples properties so it was a quick get in, get out before being spotted or interrogated. Overall a very enjoyable day. TFTC

17-Jul-22
An early start to a cool and windy day with Green-Martian tackling a few of the recently published caches out and around the Murrumbateman/Yass area. We targeted a mixture of finds, following a basic route weaving back and forth along the back country roads. Most finds came without issue but the odd one here and there presented a challenge in one way or another. In that regard, any interesting or specific details relating to the find are added to the end of log. Regardless, at the end of the day there were about 60 successful finds, 1 DNF and 1 other we were not well enough prepared to tackle.

As the morning went on the numbers grew, and so did the surrounding clouds. In the end, after a solid 6 hours of caching, as the rain began to fall, we called it quits for the day.

Thanks again GM for a great day out, and the CO’s for all their hard work and effort. TNLNSL TFTC

Quick detour and find on my way through to Young.

A really cold winters day. The enjoyment of the search and find however exceeds the misery of the cold. TFTC.

A few feelings of deja vu this morning, but some nice quick finds.

When the weather for today was predicted to be cold, windy with showers we decided to stay close to town and pick up some caches in the immediate area.
Some good hides and tough ones resulting in a couple of favourite awarded and a couple of DNFs was the result.

Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache DARKSIDEDAN.

Out and about for a casual holiday and drive around finally getting around to logging the cache we completed on the trip...

A quick find while heading home to Wagga after a visit to the ACT for some Model trains and Geocaching...

Found it, stamped / tagged it, replaced it where it was in its little hiding space, then onto the next treasure for the day.

Thanks for this little find and venture for the day DARKSIDEDAN ...

# 7545 Now that we can go caching in beyond the ACT border, iPlod65 and I headed up the Barton hwy to Yass stopping off in Murrumbateman for a few lazy caches along the way. It was a fine but breezy day. We neglected to bring a ladder something we would soon come to regret.
All in all, a bunch of interesting and varied caches.
Thanks DARKSIDEDAN

Mrs Mister JD and I have driven a friend to Yass to pick up a car. Mrs Mister JD had to drive the friend's car back as the friend has only a very limited license. So I am driving back by myself, and I have a little time for caching - not much, but some. This turned out to be the last one for the day as I have remembered an appointment we have back home. The dificulty of the search matched the D/T ratings ... TFTC, DSD

Tankengine and I thought we would head further afield to find some caches today.

It was a nice day all up and we were able to pick up some nice finds and I picked up a whole lot more than I expected I would.

The weather wasn’t desirable, but it’s winter so it’s not like it wasn’t expected. At least we didn’t have any rain.

This cache: Super quick find along the way. Tftc!!!

#11472 - 9:06:00 AM; Headed out again today with Sol de lune as we continue our work on a couple of personal challenges to raise daily cache finds and also complete loops of different cache types. This was our first stop before we started work again on the Dragonstone series from the far end today in the rain. A nice quick park and grab to get us going. Logs signed Sdl & LL or similar. TFTC DARKSIDEDAN Smile

WHAT an adventure!!
Found it, AND had a great time.
ALL loci612 would talk about is his ‘fun horse facts’ …

The robot clicked disapprovingly, gurgled briefly inside its cubical interior and extruded a pony glass of brownish liquid. "Sir, you will undoubtedly end up in a drunkard's grave, dead of hepatic cirrhosis," it informed me virtuously as it returned my ID card. I glared as I pushed the glass across the table.

He heard the loud impact before he ever saw the result. It had been so loud that it had actually made him jump back in his seat. As soon as he recovered from the surprise, he saw the crack in the windshield. It seemed to be an analogy of the current condition of his life.

She asked the question even though she didn't really want to hear the answer. It was a no-win situation since she already knew. If he told the truth, she'd get confirmation of her worst fears. If he lied, she'd know that he wasn't who she thought he was which would be almost as bad. Yet she asked the question anyway and waited for his answer.

Spending time at national parks can be an exciting adventure, but this wasn't the type of excitement she was hoping to experience. As she contemplated the situation she found herself in, she knew she'd gotten herself in a little more than she bargained for. It wasn't often that she found herself in a tree staring down at a pack of wolves that were looking to make her their next meal.

Today was a day of events. Between the events I found a few caches to do in Yass and Goulburn. I also managed a Lab series in Goulburn as well. A fun day with lots of discussion and a bit of cleanup. A great day.

One of a few quick roadside caches found on my way to Goulburn.

Thanks for the cache DARKSIDEDAN

A quick find!Big Grin Thanks DSD

Here are some Amazing Facts About the Horse that I prepared earlier:

The Przewalski’s horse is the only truly wild horse species still in existence. The only wild population is in Mongolia. There are however numerous populations across the world of feral horses e.g. mustangs in North America.

Horses use their ears, eyes and nostrils to express their mood. They also communicate their feelings through facial expressions.

It is extremely unlikely to see all horses in a herd lying down simultaneously. This is because at least one horse will stand as a look-out in order to be able to alert the others of any potential dangers.

Horses have near 360 degree vision. They do however have blind spots directly in front and behind them. It is extremely dangerous to stand behind a horse as they are liable to kick out if they get scared by anything. Kicking out is their way of defending themselves.

Horses use a range of different vocalisations to communicate. Whinnying and neighing sounds are elicited when horses meet or leave each other. Stallions (adult male horses) perform loud roars as mating calls, and all horses will use snorts to alert others of potential danger. Mares (adult female horses) use deep smooth sounds, whickering, when they are nursing a foal (infant horse)

An early last minute decision to attend this event and later the CITO in Yass.
We received a text early this morning from ALL7 asking if we were attending and we said we are now going to this one and the CITO in Yass then hitting some new caches of Sui's in the area.
So we joined up and headed off for a nice relaxed day of caching.

Picked this one up along our journey to attend the CITO in Yass.

Thanks for the hide DARKSIDEDAN

24,725. Found with minniek during a beautiful days caching.

Rolled out of bed and down the highway this morning to attend the first of three events today - gotta love days like this ! After that event in Hall a bunch of us convoyed up to Yass via a few more caches. This was our next stop on the way. A nice quick find was made in the obvious spot. Signed the log, replaced the cache as found, then headed off to the next one.

Thanks DSD !! I think I remember a famous movie with a Mr Hardwicke Stud in it...

fitzy_1965 and I decided to head into Canberra for a day of caching around a couple of events.

A nice, early, and brisk start to the day saw us driving through the fog into Hall. Although we slept in a little later than anticipated, we managed to get to the event only a few minutes after it started.

Next, we teamed up with Sui_001, Loci612, Injuryman, DARKSIDEDAN and Blue Iris to cache our way out to Yass before the CITO.

With the others wanting to find a cache we had already found; we went on ahead to Yass. Noticed this new cache along the way and stopped for a quick find.
