Reperio 06:40Up early again this morning for a full day of caching around the Yass and Goulburn area, and fortunately the rain that hung around all day yesterday had mostly passed by. While the ground was still pretty wet, most of the caches were found in good order. Another great day caching in the area.Gratias DARKSIDEDANAs a well spent day brings happy sleep, a well spent life brings happy death - LDV
Sydney to Adelaide cargo runDay Two: Goulburn to CorowaWeather: grey and rainy and wet underfootI had trouble with the one on the other side of town, but no problems here. A quick find, and all is well with the cache. Thanks for the hide DARKSIDEDAN.
Suscoe was heading along the Hume this morning. We started in Yass with a few finds before moving along to Gunning. The sun had come out and the temperature had risen from 0 to 11 as we moved eastwards. What a delightful little town and we enjoyed our wander around the streets. Thanks to DARKSIDEDAN for this hide.
Full time Nomads, travelling around Australia since 2014. Staying a week or so in Yass, today we headed out for a drive in the countryside. What fantastic weather for another fun day caching. Loved the history shared through Geocaching in Gunning.TFTC DARKSIDEDAN
Find#1949Found today on our first day caching around Goulburn. Me and Shaneo58 are down here to work on some challenge caches near home in the Hunter valley and trying to claim some unique DTs to fill our grid also. After arriving here we made a quick find at Gz. Cache and log in good condition TFTC
Quick and easy roadside cache, But be careful for the next finder. There is a fully grown aggressive red back spider that's located in the hiding spot of the container. So dont get the kiddies sticking there hands in there off the bat, use a stick and pry the container out.Log signed and put back in place. Thanks for the hide.
Yass Day 3, staying for a few days at the showgroundsWe chose to do a tour to Gunning, then returning along the old highway.A large variety of DTs completed today. An AL at Gunning also.Flags, birds & challenge caches also included in our trip. This was a great way to visit the area,Thanks DARKSIDEDAN for hiding this cache.
As I'm continuing my hitchhiking journey from Melbourne to Sydney I was picked up by a man and his son who had just purchased a car in Geelong. We stopped quickly in Gunning for my first find in the Upper Lachlan shire. I've completed four new LGAs today when I'm on a schedule, and I also gave them a crash course in geocaching. TFTC
Another adventure to the North, sweeping through areas I've yet to cache in. All caches found without issue, signed and replaced as found (or better). Anything of note or interest added to the end of log. TNLNSL TFTC

While traveling from Geelong to Brisbane via the Hume I stopped and grabbed caches where I could.
As I was driving up the Hume Hwy I noticed Gunning had a little cluster of caches so I took the turn off and found a few of them.
No trouble grabbing this one.

We formulated a plan a month ago to meet up with alansee, mclookers, maccamob micaparamedic, moonb1, muzza and pprass to try our luck at some challenges and also any other series and other random caches that were around before heading to the rutherglen Mega event.
We really enjoy caches like this that show a bit of history about these towns and how long they have been in existance for and this one was certainly no exception. We also enjoy this type of cache hide although today it was a little more difficult with a few cars but they are always relatively quick finds and seem to stand the test of time.
Thanks once more DARKSIDEDAN for the cache.

Put a call out to Rapidlywild to see if she wanted to join us on a tiki tour to attended 3 events and a CITO and a munzee event thrown in for good measure in rural NSW also picking up any new caches that had popped up since we were last out and about.
This was the first one we came to and a nice simple find here.

The FFLL ladies reached out to see if I had any plans for today, of which I didnt, so I was kindly invited along for a mini adventure around the NSW rural areas for some caches and some events, sounds like fun So we coordinated a set off time and made our way north. We collected a few caches here and there and attended 3 events plus a CITO in a fun filled day.
First cab off the rank for us, a nice simple find (which was good, as we were still wiping the sleep from our eyes!).
Cache signed and replaced as found. Thanks for the placement DSD and thanks to the FFLL ladies for the invited for another fun filled mini adventure I sure do miss these little day trips that we used to have, hopefully more to come

Although there was plenty of caching still to be done around Yass it was time to move on. We will be back.
We set off for Gunning, only a short trip. The day started cold and a bit foggy, but the sun soon came through and set up the best day we have had for some time weather wise.
There were a few Traditionals to be had en route as well as some Flags of the World as well as the caches we had not found in Gunning. After lunch we headed out to Jerrawa and Dalton where we got 2 Earthcaches.
A bigger day than we had initially planned for, but you cant waste the good weather!
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache DARKSIDEDAN.

After the busy (and wet) summer had finished, The Rats floated the idea of a trip to the area around Canberra and Yass with Steeba and myself. We compared diaries, and had a two day mid-week window where we could make things happen, in the week wedged between Easter and ANZAC Day.
The weather was on our side for the first time in I forget how long, and we were able to make the most of our time opportunity.
A lot of excellent caches were found, and some fantastic terrain caches too. A few power trails, some crafty hides, some hard hides, and even some climbs that I could not do... even with our ladder!
Thank you to all of the cache owners for placing their hides. This boiler plate log does not reflect the quality of the hides. Most importantly thanks as always to my two great caching mates for their company!
Cheers

The Rats, Hoojar and myself teamed up for an assault in and around the Yass area for a couple of days- a most enjoyable caching trip with my mates. Plenty of power trail type finds but a lot of great variety here and there, particularly around Yass itself. We started off on Wednesday night and finished up Friday afternoon. TFTC!
The Gong Gangsters (steeba, Hoojar and The Rats) took advantage of an extended Easter / Anzac break to head out for another caching juggernaut through the Southern Highlands and Yass regions. Blessed with beautiful weather we targeted a few powertrails and high D/T rated caches.
After 2 full days we'd collected a plethora of finds, made some new friends, laughed alot, pushed our bodies beyond the comfortable level and most of all - had a great time with mates. Thanks to all the CO's for your caches and those who tagged along.

On the move from no coffee in the blacked out town, and thought I’d grab this on the way out. It’s amazing the history of this region and you can’t just wonder how bustling some of these towns were in the day.

#1775 Goodbye Gunning. The last of my Gunning finds today with 3 DNF's before continuing my adventures along Gundaroo Road. An enjoyable day all round including lunch and a beer at the local. Didn't manage to pull over in time so made the 100 odd metre walk back to GZ over the highway for the find. Its amazing what you find on the side of a road (50c, a coke bottle, numerous nuts and bolts, a couple of carabiner clips, a nail file, and an assortment of broken car parts). Thanks DSD for the caches. More of yours to find out the road.
After Mega , 63ROOS drive to Nsw Country find few caches before go back canberra .. We enjoy and good laugh ..tks
What an amazing way to start my holidays from work. Geo-events, traveling, meeting up with friends and finding many different caches made it fun! It’s so nice to finally be able to do all these things… again. The following descriptions are my adventures between the days of 12/11/21 and 16/11/21. Each cache has been logged to the end of my adventures for the day of finding them. If you would like to read my full log, please find it on any cache I found on the 16/11/21.
Day #1: I finished work at 4pm and headed over to Wagga for the only GIFF event in NSW. Apart from the CO, I was the first to arrive at the event. It was great to finally attend a Geocaching after many months without them. All talk Geo was had by all until we were told that dinner was ready. Soon after, the popcorn was ready and the movies were on. Congratulations to all the GIFF finalists and they were all a great watch. Also, Congratulations to BMG for receiving the FTF on the event. Then it was time to head home and get ready to head to Canberra for the next few days.
Day #2: I was nearly late to my own event. O’well… It was still fun with the small group of us that turned up. We also discovered many Moveable caches before heading off to today’s main goal. This happened to be finding the ‘A’ part of the GA geo-art series as well as the lone GC caches around the area which I hadn’t found as I pasted by them. I wasn’t alone as AKM came for the walk as well. After finding all but the last two we headed our separate ways as it started raining heavier. Hopefully, it won’t be raining tomorrow so the event goes ahead but well will need to see. Also pizza for dinner tonight.
Day #3: Today’s adventures included the CCE down in Booroomba and as many of the nearby caches as possible. I didn’t do the walk to the ‘Booroomba Rocks’ but I am still able to log the event. I then headed off with a large group of others to find the nearby caches. After that, I caught a lift with Kittykatch, Joolay, isopeda and Barb2e and we headed down to the ACT boarder finding the caches along the way many caches were found and a new GCA cache placed (Gudgenby – GA25097). It was great to see some ammo cans out in the wild, even if they were slightly damaged by the fires. As we arrived back in Tharwa we had afternoon tea and headed our separate ways. Another great day and so much more to go.
Day #4: Not many finds today, but definitely quality finds including a 2003 cache. They are becoming few and far between and it was great to see this one still alive. Many unique locations that I would never have visited if it wasn’t for geocaching. Most caches I found were somewhere along the drive/walk around Mount Stromlo. I also wandered around the Belconnen Mall to do some Christmas shopping. Another great day but my trip away is coming to an end… as tomorrow is my last day.
Day #5: Well my time is up for this adventure… almost. I still have a lot of caches planned for the trip home. I decided on attempting the SRPT series. Due to time constraints I couldn’t stop at all of them and some of the ones I did stop at there were muggles nearby so I decided to move on. Once I reached Sutton, I headed over to Gunning which is where my next set of caches to find because I have already found everything else between. This included a great AL and soon enough lunch was had as well. Finally, I tackled the new caches along the ‘old Hume Highway’ before heading to the Yass servo for afternoon tea and heading home. It was a great start to my holidays and I hope to have some more adventures before my holidays are over.
TB visit on all found caches. I would like to thank all CO's of the caches I found and for allowing them to bring me and the rest of the caching community enjoyment.

Lockdown has bought a totally different approach to caching with the introduction of homework! Much time for homework in fact. Therefore many more puzzles solved, both as a solo and collective effort. Thanks to my fellow geo buddies for assistance when needed.
And in between there are still some traditionals, though not nearly as many of them left these days
Out with Marmaduke Rothschild for a drive interstate and in the country because we can.

Tankengine and I thought we would head further afield to find some caches today.
It was a nice day all up and we were able to pick up some nice finds and I picked up a whole lot more than I expected I would.
The weather wasn’t desirable, but it’s winter so it’s not like it wasn’t expected. At least we didn’t have any rain.
