Collecting a few caches while spending an extended weekend at Crows Nest mixing up cycling and caching.
Toowoomba Day 3We woke up to an overcast day so decided to head to the AL at Highfields, Cabarlah & Oakey.Picked up a few other caches during our drive. We went to mnany interesting location & found some very good caches. The cache container was broken & the log book in tatters. Replaced a vial at GZThanks HippyDonna & MrGravel for hiding this cache.
Grabbed this cache on the back from doing some Safari caches. Couldnt sign the log as the paper has been wet and is stuck together plus no room that we could find.
Found in the obvious place.Needs new container & log but managed to get it signed TFTC
With a day off work, I decided to head out and do some caching. I mainly targeted caches that would help with several challenges Im currently working on. Slowly chipping away at the Jasmer Challenge and finding this cache allows be to cross another month off the list. Very busy road. Had to wait several minutes before I could get out of the car and make the find. Lid missing off cache and log was damp, but singable. Hard part was getting the log back into the cache.TFTC. SL. TBs Eddie Mac to New Zealand and Back, Prado Owl , Rawhide and Kiwi Bird visited.Find # 1864.
Another nice drive around the country roads this morning before the rain set in. A quick find here although the lid is missing on the container the log was dry, signed and replaced as found. Thanks HippyDonna & MrGravel.
TFTC! My first find out for my Sunday drive. Thanks for bringing me out here, on this road in which I dont believe I have ever travelled along.
Overshot this one last time I was out

Out and about today enjoying a nice country drive to grab a few caches before heading back to the big smoke. This one was spotted by my eagle eyed muggle caching partner for the day. Tftc HippyDonna ????
Out with the Wallaby's collecting some caches in my nearest 100. First one for today. TFTC
A man who lived by the sea grew a cucumber so large he was able to turn it into his house. One day a bad storm flooded the area with seawater and damaged his home.

I’ve come out West hunting a couple of old caches… and on my way from Kingsthorpe to Haden this was a drive by so I took the time to stop…
The hardest part of this find was waiting for a break in the traffic…

You wouldn’t want to suffer from arachnophobia retrieving this one. A big stick is recommended.

I met up with CuriousQuest to find a few caches out in the country from Toowoomba. Lots of trads, mysteries, some letterboxes and multis on the list as well as a virtual. Great variety of caches and hides. Some took longer than they should have to find, but most were quickly located and the log signed. TFTC
Spent a lovely day out with Selva Girls in Toowoomba picking up a great mix of caches, with puzzles, letterboxs, multis and trads, hence the generic post. A bit of tree climbing involved with a few... and there were some good hides along the way, and even some quick ones too. Thanks HippyDonna & MrGravel for a good range of caches. Lovely countryside after rain to make everything look green again. TFTC
We found this one on our weekend away at Oakey. What a merry team! Camp fires, bbqs and a bottle of wine. We signed these as Team Grav.

Day two in a fun long weekend, chasing the SSE and The Gravel's Travels series and EVERYTHING else along the way! Days like this wouldn't exist without the COs who place these for our enjoyment, so thank you for bringing us out to this beautiful area.
When I tell a muggle that we went camping for the weekend at Oakey, they look at my strangely. Not exactly a usual "holiday" destination. But they are missing out. The views, the scenery. Beautiful area.

Day two of our Oakey trip and a later start than usual.
We set off just after 9am and hit the trail, ughh.. Road? I don't know what to call it, but we travelled on it. Our main target for the day was the Gravel series than we slowly made our way north than south while collecting a bunch of caches along the way.
I have never ventured out this way before so it was a real eye opener, the towns, the farms, the flowers, the animals, you name it we saw it, well, maybe not everything because I was disappointed I didn't see an elephant, but you get the picture.
We certainly picked the right time of year as the Jacarandas were in full bloom and you wouldn't go through a town without seeing a bunch of them, absolutely stunning, it truely is an amazing tree and you can literally spot them from a mile away.
The team had an absolute blast and we thoroughly enjoyed travelling the open road breathing in the fresh country air, what more could you ask for? Well, a coffee shop perhaps since I went the WHOLE. ENTIRE. DAY without coffee and that is deadly, If i miss my daily caffeine goodness I become a terrible person and do bad things, other than that it was a very memorable day.
Thank you so much for placing this cache here for us to enjoy.
Log signed as Team Grav to save space.

Day two of my three day weekend of caching. A later start than normal for me as we had a team of cachers ready to take the fields today. To reduce the amount of cars on the road, Charli and I got to jump in with Domsky and Esmiley. This was a fantastic time and a memorable one, I got to have a lot of fun today. Not just with my caching buddies but some good quality time with my little girl, before she drops the geocaching thing.
We set off and just drove all day; there were hills that gave us some great scenery and crop fields. Some beautiful country roads and a variety of animals to see, yes a variety, cows, horses, lizards, frogs, an echidnae, a Clydesdale horse (striking), sheep, kangaroos, wallabies, birds and a black cockatoo. Two stand outs would have been the Clydesdale and the echidnae.
The caches today varied in size and with some really nice and clever hides. The regular and large containers kept Charli busy while we signed the logs. It was just a great day out some really good company.
This cache was an easy find. We singed the log as team GRAV, rather than writing 10 names in it. Thank you for placing it here.

A plan was formed recently to camp at Oakey over the October long weekend (due to Ekka being postponed) and tackle the art and a number of fun puzzles in the vicinity. The call went out to a few others we enjoy travelling with and the solving began! Lots of back and forth between members and we finally had a full set a few days out from the trip.
The roads were wet and muddy but that isn't going to stop a group of dedicated geocachers on a mission! The rain held off which we were grateful for however chunks of mud were often shaken off shoes before returning to cars and moving on to the next one.
As is always the case when caching with others there were many laughs and a great time had by all. Always a great sense of achievement when you've been working through a project over a number of weeks.
Thankyou for placing and arranging this series for our enjoyment. The fields and flowers were in bloom. Birds a plenty enjoying the roadside water sources. The scenery was refreshing. Always enjoy a taste of the countryside. Logs signed as Team Grav (as in Gravel assault!)

I had the afternoon to myself so decided to take a drive and pick up a few solved puzzles and some other caches that helped with challenges. It was not the perfect caching weather though being overcast and very windy! It was still a great afternoon exploring areas I wouldn’t have otherwise visited. This was a great series and I enjoyed the drive on the country roads. In this weather I really appreciated the ease and good locations of the hides. Thanks for the great effort HippyDonna & MrGravel
Going out to Dalby for a few days and doing caches on our way out there. Stopped by to do these caches out in the countryside. Found the cache and signed the log. TFTC CO

Monday. Today was a day spent with the very clever Mr OC. He did all the driving and I got to go where he turned the steering wheel. We ended up finding the must number of caches I’d found in ages, so my apologies for a generic log to the caches we found, as I simply won’t have enough time to write my usual individual logs. We had a very early pre-dawn start to the day and we ended up coming home in the dark. We had picked out several dozen caches and tried to collect as many as we could, starting at Toowoomba, heading west and the out to Bell, and came home through Wamuran. It was a cracker of a day and after a cold start, there was no wind, no clouds and just perfect temperatures. We came up to a good looking GZ for this cache and soon had our names in the log. Picturesque area indeed.
This was the 3rd of 49 caches found on this outing.
Thanks ***HippyDonna*** for showing us this place

Out on a massive day trip with Slow Puncture, leaving Brissie in the wee hours and heading up the range to Toowoomba, across the plains and out to Bell, returning via Yarraman. We're picking up our list of solved puzzles and any other interesting caches we pass by.

Day 2 of our Toowoomba caching adventure and RoddyC, hatzofff and Grannysmith1947 have headed north to travel along some gravel and bitumen roads finding this series.
I was a bit skeptical about Nuvi telling us to turn right down a small road but was assured it was okay. About 1klm down this road, it became black soil and I really had my doubts about this route. Water across the road definitely had me say no, we are going back to the highway. After ignoring "Karen's" whining we finally arrived at GZ where Apostle birds were very protective about us getting too close to their nests.
Cache located easily, SL then returned as found.

Catching up on some logging today, so a bit of a generic log, I'm afraid. We were in Toowoomba for another BC Event yesterday.
Being a perfect day for caching, we decided to head towards the Western Downs LGA to find the Gravel's Travel Safari Series and other caches along the route chosen. It was a great day, and all caches were located easily with good coordinates and in good condition.
First of the day. Nuvi took us up a gravel road which turned into black soil, then a patch covered with water. Nope. About turn and back to the highway and the sealed road. Thanks for the short cut but no thanks! Not flooded, but definitely a no go!
Log signed and cache replaced as found at 9.37am on 21 June, 2021. TFTC, HippyDonna.

Fortunately there has not been any rain recently so we had no need to fear about flooding. When there was talk about signs we became a little concerned about being able to read the signs that this cache mentioned, but no probs at all. SL TFTC
