Today I ventured north to CITO up a storm on the northern end of Bribie with Seffnjarah and Deznjez. We left a few hours early with the intention of collecting some interesting caches along the way. With 10 metres of China's cheapest carbon fibre in the tool kit, we planned on grabbing any tree fishing caches along the way. It was hot when we arrived here, so I was thankful for the short walk and the shade of the tree. All in good order. Thanks dickbevPete#8,108 @ [11:48]

Out Geocaching with the Buderim Rover Crew for the afternoon. This area had a few different types of caches and a park to play in as well which made for a great afternoon out and a good spot to introduce some new people to Geocaching.

dickbev I found your cache Plover Drive (Tree Fishing) on 21/1/2023, 12:55 pm. This is my find 4653 and find # 3 today. Arrived at GZ and spotted the cache. Will my TOTT reach it? This is the highest one I have retrieved, maxed out the fishing pole till there was no more, any higher and the ladder would of come out. Retrieved it, signed it and returned it. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN

Out with some lovely geocaching friends. Last tree fishing today and no water around to get a real fish.Aain my fisherman did an amazing job retrieving and returning back where it was found. Log signed and now I am aware of the TOTT needed and skills required for this type of caching. Now off for coffee and caching stories and adventures . Thanks dickbev for the cache find. All good with this cache.

Alyce and I decided to venture north to the Sunny Coast to grab some caches. The plan was to get the remaining tree fishing caches/tool caches so we could qualify for the August challenge while grabbing a few others while in the area.

We finished our rounds at Skippy Park and this was the last one in the vicinity before moving on. The cache was quickly spotted from the car upon arrival and had it in our hands soon after.

Thanks for bringing us here.

After talking to the CO earlier about a DNF, they promised me joy to to lift my spirits.
Always a fan of tree fishing caches and being a pioneer of the movement I thought it was only right to enquire about this one.
It was great to see what other tree fisherman are using for bait, and I wasn’t dissapointed with the catch here .

Thanks Dickbev for the tree fish.

05-Aug-22
Perfect conditions for tree fishing, no sun in the eyes, no wind , no muggles and BL calling out there it is before I am out of the car . Played Russian dolls getting to the log, signed it and returned as found.
Thanks for bringing us here

17-Jul-22
Today, the plan was a kayak paddle on Lake Baroon to attend the *Leisurely Obi Obi Paddle* event. The weather turned out great (quite eerie in the morning), and we had a friendly group of 15 kayakers who paddled Lake Baroon and down Obi Obi Creek.
Following the event/paddle, I took a walk around Maleny before grabbing lunch at its award-winning bakery. I then spent the last few hours of my afternoon visiting a few oldies in the area and darting around a few lookout spots, before then returning home via Mount Mellum, Skippy Park, and Beerwah where I completed the *Beerwah.* Adventure Lab.

After parking my car on the nearby side street, I proceeded to GZ, and it took a few looks and perspectives before finding the cache in a spot that the geocache's name suggested. Using my friend's borrowed fishing TOTT, I soon had the cache in hand, and it felt like Russian dolls before encountering the logbook. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks dickbev for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

23-Jun-22
Setting off to Maleny to pickup a repaired laptop.
Decided to grab a few caches along the way.
This was number five for the day.
wandered over to GZ, but there was a fence in the way.
Back to car and move it to approach from a different angle.
Quickly in hand, squiggles in the log and back to its hiding spot.
Thanks for the cache.

Beerwah staying at the Sports ground
Election Day Saturday as there is a lot of rain, we decided to mainly do AL.
Before mid day the rain became too consistant & we called it a day. We did manage to take a good drive around the coastal area.
Only managed this cache as our pole was not long enough for the other one close by.
Thankyou dickbev for placing this cache.

10-Apr-22
I found it but didn't have the TOTT tools required on me to get it. Nice hide, keep up the good work

07-Mar-22
Checked cache today after 3/3/22 storm, all good.

25-Jan-22
Out with teamdfl for the day, and there's some Labs, and lots of tree fishing, with a couple of traditionals and a few puzzles. Sounds like a "trifik chewsday"!

With an AL done at Beerwah we headed north to go fishing. We walked across from our last find and were pleased this one was quite a lot lower! TFTC, dickbev.

25-Jan-22
Having just completed a nearby cache with the same D/T I was not sure that we would be able to repeat our success a this one.

Spotted reasonably quickly. This one is a lot. lot lower than the other nearby one. Cool An easy catch and release here.

TFTC. In Beerwah for a motorhome group get together for the next few days. Time to get out and find a couple of caches. After the trip up and back to Peachester we decided to do some tree fishing. Took a bit of time to locate but then the retrieval and return went smoothly.

21-Nov-21
Willis007 and I had the opportunity to head up to the sunshine coast for the day and collect a few caches before the night time event and the GIFF presentation. We were looking at targeting the Landsborough area and then the pelican waters caches before heading to Coolum. We were pretty much on track all day with just a few targets that will have to wait until next time. Overall we got in a few labs finished off and a fun few caches. It was a long but profitable day, and a lot of chats and fun along the way, thanks to all the CO’s for the hides.

Working our way north we came across this little section of caches. Managed to find this one quickly and saw it was on the other side of the fencing, so a drive around to grab. All good and with it signed and replaced we were off to the next ones in the area, thanks.

21-Nov-21
Out and about in the Sunny Coast area collecting caches before attending the GIFF event.
This one was quickly spotted, expertly retrieved and returned by chamad.
Thanks dickbev for another great cache.

I tried walking to this from Skippy 2 only to discover a 6’ high fence. So I headed back to the car to drive around. Once on the right side I made a quick find. Thanks for the cache

Staying in Landsborough for a couple of weeks and a good time to find some caches in the local area and joined by grannysmith1947 and Miss Millie.
We both love tree and it's always a rush to see who can open their poles the fastest. Another good hide & well placed.

Took me a while to spot this one resting right against the trunk. Once spotted it was a quick retrieval. The cache reminded me of matryoshka dolls one cache container after another till the log was revealed.
Thanks for the fishing dickbev

Quick and easy retrieval and place back. Liked the containers. Don't think that this log book will get wet. Lol

Found quickly. Got it and signed log

This was the last cache i found on my geoouting yesterday on the tredley to visit my brother and nephews in beerwah.
In the end i managed thirteen traditionals and a multi.
This was the second tree fishing outing for the day and a good one to avenge.
I knew exactly where it was from a previous epic fail on my tott, so this time it was all crook neck and arm waving for a while befor the logbook was discovered like a matrioska doll.
Thanks dickbev for another great cache.

02-Oct-21
Caching with Muggle65 and Brislions today. We had all the Tots on board today as you never know what you might find. BL did the honours here and we are now in the logbook. Thank you for a fun cache

02-Oct-21
A day on the Sunshine Coast with Green Geckos and Muggle65 caching. A bit later we were join by Mummy Bear and her Clubs.

Another great challenge. Although this one was slightly lower we found it harder to locate and retrieve due to the number of branches around it.
We love tree fishing.

Good find by abeck58. And he got to drive the tott. Love the babushka style to retrieve the log.
Out with PirateLinda and Peppa and abeck58.

20-Aug-21
Driving duty again for me. Abeck58 did the fishing this time with instructions from Peppa while Giraffe 18 looked on reading old logs for entertainment. Loved the waterproofing system - bit like a Babushka doll

20-Aug-21
Despite the name and description I wasn’t sure if we should have walked over from our last find or driven… lucked out and drove over…

abeck58 spotted the cache in no time at all… oh to have the eyes of a teenager again… I handed the TOTT over and watched abeck58 do the retrieval and return… I don’t think there’s any chance of that log getting wet… tftc…

This first cache for the day was where it all went pear shaped.
I'd brought along my new notsotrustyitturnsout fishing tott.
I felt like lancelot or something or other, riding into action.
Except the wire broke before retrieval could take off, so i guess its...

Back to the drawing board for now.

Sad face.

22-Jul-21
After grabbing the other nearby cache I headed to this one and once the cache was spotted it was soon retrieved.

Once the log was signed all was returned as found.

After a great walk with 3 generations of our family (my Mum & my eldest daughter) along the Trachyte trail around Mt Tibrogargan for about 7km and lunch at the Glasshouse lookout cafe, we met back at Landsborough to go our separate ways. Then I kidnapped E (my daughter) to show her some tree fishing as I'd just remembered that there were a couple of new ones nearby.
We parked near gz, and soon spotted the cache in the paperbark clump of trees. E came out of the car to check out the action as I hooked it and retrieved the interesting container. It was quite high for our pole length, but just managed to reach it. Opened the 3 layers and finally found the log to sign. E was helping get it back up, when another car pulled up and who should turn up Dick, the CO, probably to check we were putting it back in the right place. Having met a few times around the traps, we exchanged greetings and we got the cache back up in place as before so face was saved.
And very glad not to come in contact with any plovers during the experience.

At the end of a day’s exploring via cache, we were headed to our accommodation but couldn’t resist stopping just one more time to try for this cache. We spotted the cache, deployed the TOTT and managed to snag it right at the very end of our reach. Couldn’t decide whether to laugh or roll our eyes as we extracted the log book! Thankfully we managed to replace the cache on the first go as the light was well and truly fading fast. TFTC dickbev

This one was on my radar, and this morning I just happened to be in Landsborough working.

After my meeting was over, I ducked over to the nearby Skippy Park area.

I luckily had my fishing pole with me and after a little bit of looking around I soon spotted the cache.

I deployed the TOTT and after a bit of a wiggle and a jiggle, I had the container hooked.

Once the container was in hand I extracted the log from its secure hide and was thrilled and surprised to see a blank log sheet.

Once the log was signed everything was replaced as found.
