Logs
Sorry for the generic logs on this series. We are travelling from Vic/NSW border to WA for a wedding and stayed the night in Murray Bridge. We are heading to Adelaide today and picking up a few caches along the way. I like doing the post office letterbox caches and this one was no exception. It was very straightforward and we found the container without too much hassle
Out for another Tremendous Tuesday Trek so went and picked up the Rat from her nest and then the Starfish from his pond. Today we really did do some trekking, in CPwanderland. Then when we were all trekked out it was into Murray Bridge for some lunchtime visiting. After that we just had to do the new AdLab in town before picking up a few more caches on the long way home.Last one for the day and only for me, luckily I spotted it before the GPSr was turned off. I do like doing these postcode letterboxes and now only need another seven to have the full set of nineteen, which will probably never happen as Otters are much more location mobile than ttroggs. Thanks to Otter61 for adding to the playing field with this cache.Smilie #15223.*This log composed and published using GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife).*
We stayed at Nurioopta last night to top up on lots of supplies at the Geostuff store this morning and then we are heading our way back south to Portland caching along the way. Our main targets are Adventure Labs, Virtual's and Earth caches as these don't present muggle problems and any others that are nearby. We never put much thought into what would happen if an area was proclaimed after all the post codes had been allotted and suppose this is a simple solution for that . Although Monarto may not have a post office at least it now has a letterbox cache which we happily found after a brief search and we have added our name to the log. Many thanks for the cache.
TFTC! Did have some help from CO to find final coordinates. Looking back, I had all the correct info. I had just misinterpreted some of the clues. Today's goal: find our 300th cache. This is find no. 294.
Out caching with earthlight She kindly stopped at a few she had already found herself allowing me to log a find All caches found were ok for next cacher Thanks to the co's for placing and maintaining for us to findOnly 1 dnf for the day
Found heading home today after doing adv lab in Tailem bend. Cache all ok. TFTC
Of course that number is between 1 and 3, why wouldnt it be? Collected the information before a trip to the safari park, saw some animals worked out the coordinates at lunch, saw some more animals and on the drive home swung past for the quick find. Did not see any otters
We knew this was disabled but thought we'd give it a crack anyway, maybe we could work it out with what we did know. However, when we looked closely at the boxes, we realised that what was supposed to be missing wasn't, so we were able to solve it. Didn't take long to find once we got to GZ. TFTC Otter61#16738
Quick find once we got all the info. All the info is still there once we looked at the mail boxes . Don't know why previous finder had problems as the box number is still there
Need to check that it is possible to calculate final coordinates here - apparently there have been some changes.
Unfortunately the number in the box between One and Three, has gone missing so have to register a DNF here
Messaged the CO when I logged my DNF earlier this morning and he very kindly helped me out with the missing box number (thank you so much Otter61 and enjoy Nevada)Then it was off to the final fir a quick find, stamp & returnTFTC
Found during the Annual Father/Daughter Fathers Day Trip
This one took longer than it should have, found the final location okay ....spent 10 minutes walking around the cache and not seeing,

Southern Autumn adventure Day 51. Mid North section of SA trip Day 22. Mount Barker 2. Today and yesterday and tomorrow are really transitional to me getting to Mildura in time to do the Paddle Steamer with friends from Canberra. I journeyed to a spot about 35km South of Loxton near a location called Veitch via Murray Bridge an Karoonda for lunch. Before I left I spent an hour or so near Mount Barker having a final go at a few multis with difficulties and other local caches. The rain started while I was out and did not let up for the rest of the day. As I traveled, I did manage to stop a few times, getting wetter all the time, but I was keen to find some caches. At the final stop for the day I found a remote patch of roadside rest area and sat quietly till it was time to leave the next day.
I stoped near Monarto to try for a few caches and was happy to find this one. A bit of work going on at the hall, but I could read the box numbers.
Thanks for the cache Otter61

Greetings from BC, Canada.
Touring Australia and New Zealand with my family. We have been enjoying the beautiful landscape and visiting some awesome locations.
Stopping along the way to grab some cool caches. We targeted high favourite, old caches, different cache types and some other caches along our routes.
I was here with BeesKnees34, SOB_4M, 1MitchG6 and AlexBN16. After doing some math, we made our with to the final for a fairly quick find. Our first letterbox cache in Australia.
Thanks Otter61 for the fun Letterbox cache!

Staying in Mt Barker with iluvtrekking for the long weekend but heading to Murray Bridge for a days caching. After getting somewhat duped initially when making our calculations, saw our error and soon had a gz. Found quickly thanks Otter61
Another cache found with richlink during our 2022 South Australian Adventure.
Today saw us in and around Murray Bridge enjoying the stunning countryside. This one had us scratching our heads for a while until we notice our silly mistake.

Leaving Murray Bridge to drive to Adelaide.

We are on our way to join up with a small group of cachers to do the On Your Bike Series, today is a stopover in Murray Bridge to visit with family and, of course, doing a small amount of caching.
Our appologies for the boiler plate logs but I have got so far behind with my logging this is the only way I can catch up.
We have had a great day and found all of the caches that we targeted, we did any running repairs that were needed and all caches were left in a good condition for the next visitor. SL TFTC

I spent another enjoyable day roaming around the conservation parks surrounding Monarto.
I had a couple of false starts while trying to work out what was required. It is a bit off the numbers are not in numerical order. Eventually I worked it out and some good coordinates fell out.
Quick find at GZ. Cache is in good condition.
Thanks for the cache Otter61.

Found with EsromL as we headed down the southeast for a few days of camping. Although geocaching wasn’t the purpose of the trip, we did grab a few caches of interest that were close to where we were going.
This one required a short detour but there was another cache of interest nearby that helped make the short side trip worthwhile.
After collecting the required information to determine the final coordinates, It was just a short drive for a quick find at GZ.
Thanks Otter61 for the cache.

After first deciding we were in the wrong area a re-evaluation of the clue led to a happy ending. Tftc
I did spend some time (definitely too much time) trying to work out the science behind the numbering system. And for this I’m giving those at Australia post a favourite point. After pulling the numbers together the cache was soon in hand. TFTC

Ooops, just noticed I havent logged this from the weekend. Swung past with my muggle friend (OlliesMum) after CPs event. We huddled under the little roof trying to keep out of the rain, waited a bit, then headed to the new GZ. Im sure she was expecting regular letterboxes at these caches. I spoilt her by taking her to quite a few large caches, and no mint tins were seen on our days escape from our 'boys'. Thanks for the smiley Otter61

There are some very big numbers here for such a small post office. I wonder how that came to be? Anyhow I did the maths, headed off to GZ and then soon found the cache!

Today I headed to Monarto/Murray Bridge region for CP’s Two cents worth event, so decided to leave early in the morning to collect a chunk of caches in the area before the event then do a few after, unfortunately the rain changed my plans throughout the day as limited walking could be done. Still managed to get 54 finds for the day.

5254 yes, that was a surprise, to find out two is not between 1 and 3, but not even by a little way, it was out of this world, or at least Monarto. I had finished painting my bathroom ceiling and several other chores that I was unable to get to during the week. So at 11.30 I left for the CPs event. After spending 45 minutes to get from Measdays to crafers, I was not amused and running late. I could have cycled it faster.
This cache was my first for the day, the numbers quickly collected and off to GZ for a quick find and sign. Thanks for the cache Otter61, I am looking forward to finding more of these around our fine state.

I was headed to CP's event in Monarto with 17MG17 on a wet and grey day and we decided to stop at some caches along the way. We were lucky that the rain stopped when we needed to get out of the car and we found all the caches that we looked for.
Had to wait for the rain to stop before we could get out of the car at GZ and met up with gridge98 who had also been waiting in his car. A quick find once we got to GZ.

Out for a drive and grabbed the required information for this a few weeks ago, but sadly I was going the wrong way. Back today and had time to make a quick find.

It was raining very heavily in Crafers West this morning. A phone call from a caching friend confirmed that the weather down in the city was just as bad, if not worse. So we decided to head east. Initially the rain was just as intense but about half way to Murray Bridge the rain eased and the sky lightened. By the time we got to this cache there was only the occasional spit of rain - the inclement weather was easing. Data collection for this multi was straightforward. With the final coordinates calculated, we headed off. Accurate coordinates and the hint led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Otter61 for this cache.
PS: later in the day we were pleased to meet Otter61 on the SA Rivers series - great to meet the CO of a number of caches that we have found.

Cleaning up a few caches around Kanmantoo and Callington before heading into the Monarto Forest to walk to find a few more.
As usual all caches were in great condition with excellent co-ords
After finishing our walk we attempted this on the way back to the Bridge….and like others before us we hadn’t read the description
Eventually followed instructions and were soon headed for GZ. We were muggled while there and asked what we were doing. We told them and they said ‘Oh, geocaching’ so obviously had heard of the game!
Many thanks for this one Otter61

Took a while to iron out the numbers. I made a couple of poor selections. The map and the checksum said look some more and consider some other option. With the correct numbers in the gpsr it was back to the roads and a cache was soon found. Going postal? Apparenlty I was being stalked.
I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count.
The cache was found in the last place we looked, which as usual was not the first place we looked. Thanks for placing a fun cache guys. We do love your work. We signed the logbook. Of course we did that is way we play this game. Cache in pretty good condition for the cache age.

LOCKDOWN HAS FINISHED. I managed to miss 2 multi-cache days in lockdown so I guess it will be at least July 2022 before I complete that calendar. [:(!] Today I needed five caches to satisfy my 11 loop goal so out I went in search of recently published local caches that I had been leaving for just such a day. Today was a case of Chase the Frog Day. Every one of the five caches I got had already been visited by Freddo earlier in the day!
Third cache for the day. I wonder if Freddo will be in the log book. [?] But first had to stop at the letter boxes. [^] What sort of crazy numbering system it this. I think it is the leftovers from everywhere else. [:o)] Numbers obtained, now for the maths. checksum works. Walking distance it may be but drove I did. A short search and the cache was in hand. Yep Freddo had already been. three out of three.
Only one of the three goals from last year achieved. So once again trying and fill my calendar with multi-caches and complete loop 11 again this year. [^] For my third goal I will try and get my DNF numbers from over fifty to single digits. That should keep me busy again this year! [:o)]
***Thanks Otter61 for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. ***
Logs prepared and published through GSAK.

It was a bit of a detour but nice to get off the busy freeway...

It took a while to locate at GZ...phone was jumping as I did not get my GPS out on the way home...
Eventually found, signed and placed back as found...

A truck driver has to have a 15 minute break in the first 5.5 hours, then another 15 minute break before 8 hours and either two 15 minute breaks or one 30 minute break before 11 hours. This cache was found in the 4th break.
Nice idea for a letterbox cache. I got the information with mogni over the weekend but we where heading home and time poor so we didn't do a U turn and get the final that day. Today i was slowly heading back to the plant finally. No way i could make it back to the plant, i could barely make it to gz in under 11 hours . Quick find.

Had a great day out. By the time I finally got to Manum it was 4pm the light on the water was beautiful.
Time for a couple more caches on the way home before the sun set, these short days are a geocaching killer.
Thanks to all the cache owners for placing and maintaining these caches for my enjoyment, muchly appreciate it.
This one I didn’t struggle with and made a nice find at GZ. TFTC Otter61 super series!

YAY Silver place after the JLWE fun and games. Should have known who would score Gold!!!
Still we had to drive past here on the way home and we love a letterbox
Jack and Sebastbat helped find the oddly placed numbers and off we went for a podium finish
Otter61 is much appreciated for placing and maintaining another postal cache on our geo map

Caches are found and logged using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S20+, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or sometimes with just plain old dumb luck!
---
Do stay safe when caching.
Watch for snakes, random cliffs, wild goats, wombats, bulldust, and lightning,
try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins... but especially lookout for bugs. [xx(]
Make sure Travel Bugs are the only ones you share and pass on
2020 turned into 2020won, and 2020too is on the way! 2020free should see us through
Still important to observe social distancing when possible, (150 nano caches apart should do it)
Still important to wash your hands (always has been really [:o)]
Still very important to look after each other and take precautions & get checked out for even the tiniest sniffle or cough, or unexpected headache! [8)] [B)]
Still even more important to get some fresh air and exercise while we can, so get out and cache the country!
Thanks so much to all those placing caches out and about away from the city crowds,
keeps our game safe and interesting
[:o)] ] [:o)]

Whoooo Hooooo FTF @11.25 am Was out doing a cache 15 km away on the other side of Murray Bridge when this came out!! Loaded Bindi the geodog into the car and off we went to the "Post Office" .....Coordinates quickly worked out and, after a short drive, the prize was in hand!! Thanks Otter61 for the adventure!!
went for a drive after work to unwind and came across this one taking out the Bronze position very nice here at this hour of the evening but a lot of unexpected traffic. trying use a bit of stealth with a flashlight in the dark i with traffic passing about every 5 minutes wasn't easy but was quite fun to do.
