#3867 Today is day 9 of my geocaching holiday in New Zealand. I'm touring around Christchurch and finding some geocaches in the area.Solved it while having my late lunch. I was lucky to solve it in 259 seconds. Also, this was on my way to another geocache on my to-do list. Found it with the helpful hint. StreetWalkerNZ, thank you for the cache!-crystaloops from Taipei, Taiwan on October 9, 2024 @ 17:05:03[GC9D7M8] I'm thinking of a 5 letter word was a D3.0/T1.5 Small Mystery Cache at the time of finding.
Stopped by to do a pre-mega owner check. The cache cover was easily spotted, and the cache is in good condition.
Another off my "solved ages ago" list. Straightforward find but man the surrounding area is a mess and there is a clear view into the carpark. Luckily no one around or there'd have been awkward explanations
Cache in place. Suspect TS might have had an old set of coords and hint (current cache description does not mention fishing line). See cache description for info on how to get latest coords.
Pretty sure I am checking the right places. I think the cache is missing. Not totally sure as I would expect some remnant of fishing line to remain. Setting a watch..
Solved this one a while ago but have just gotten around to finding. Cool puzzle idea. Thanks for the cache
An evening outing meant that I was able to find the park, get to gz, and locate the cache with no impediment. Loved the puzzle, what a cool idea! The 5 were also solvable by brain. TFTC!!
Solved this ages ago. Today we were on our way to Copenhagen for coffee and notice it. Fortunately I actually read the blurb and saw the adjustment. An then a perfect parking spot and very easy find. Very satisfying start, thanks
When I think of a 5 letter word, it is usually a result of me trying to complete a daily puzzle that has a name with 6 letters. I see that puzzle was released four months after this one. I wonder if the cache owner had the skills to create the other and earn many millions of dollars as a result. I recently endured a tragic event of having my streak end at 418 days. Rather than it being the result of forgetting (which I always thought was the most likely thing to happen). I actually did determine the correct word. There was either some technical issue or, in my rush, I hit the delete key instead of enter (which is strangely on the left).Anyway, back to this puzzle. My word was duakz and it took me 247 seconds to discover it. That time gives some indication as to why I have not yet solved number "6", although I may soon have another crack at it.I tried to find the cache on Sunday but suffered a double DNF. I was using the old coordinates and managed to look for it long enough to be considered a suspicious character. I then noticed the description had been updated. Armed with some new coordinates, I charged off to the new location but only realised when I got very close that someone was sitting down at the very place I wanted to use as an entry point. There was a seat not far away (why wasn't the muggle using it?) so I sat there for about five minutes for an unscheduled rest. My hope that the muggle would disappear did not eventuate so I reluctantly moved on.Today I returned to find the cost was clear and I was pleased to make a very quick find. TVMFTC, StreetWalkerNZ. Have another favourite point.
A summertime trip to the South Island, what could be better. Day six, the final day. Having flown to Christchurch and then driven to Timaru on day one, and cached around Timaru on day two, and back up to Christchurch to see a band play on day three, and then up to Kaikoura to see the same band play again on day four, and cache-laxed in Kaikoura on day five, it was time to make my way back to Christchurch airport. Along the way I'll be looking for Geocaches, and here's one I found. Another Christchurch series (is three a series?), this one I had completed so had to collect them all today. All good here, found after making the coordinate adjustment. --- Thanks to StreetWalkerNZ for placing and maintaining this cache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with Geocachers like this creating them and placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues. The puzzle was quickly solved and we soon had coordinates. The cache was then a quick easy find. TFTC
Final day for two South Aussies adventuring in NZ. Had some time to kill before flying out so solved a few caches in the area near our accomodation. Took a few attempts on the mobile as my fat fingers liked to press the new word button, but soon got into a rhythm and solved it pretty quickly. TFTC!
**20,360**We were passing by this spot and couldnt resist collecting this puzzle we had solved some time back. Thank you for the adjustments to the co ords which sent us in the right direction. We knew we were in the right place when the hint item was spotted. Thanks for a great, fun puzzle - TFTPC
Looking for a spot to lay a cache I came across this one!! Very happy to sign the log book as I don't get on with these puzzles. Thanks Sw for putting this one where I could come across it in error! Good hide!!
We are staying with Mrs SoBad's cousin for a couple of nights after a trip to meet up with friends in Tekapo. After a day trip to Banks Peninsula we returned in time for the 2 women to walk to this cache while SoBad who had driven relaxed. It was an instant find so we had time to admire a building the Mrs SoBad's cousin had been part of the rebuilding of. Maybe next rip we can find others in the sequence.Thanks.
Came by on a cold Sunday morning to get this one ticked off. Solved in 143 seconds.
Came by to tick this one off and noticed I had a DNF here. It’s my first attempt at finding this one so wasn’t sure where the log came from. Then I remembered I DNFd a nearby multi final but must have clicked the wrong icon. Sorry about that. Couldn’t get back there today due to a large crowd right at GZ. I’ll come back.
Checked cache today; still in place as per description. Didn't notice much rubbish around GZ.
Yeesh. What happened back here? Gave it a look but there’s so much trash it’s hard to figure out which bit of plastic is the cache. Quickly chucked it in.
In CHCH to pick up my new car. Decided to spend the day here caching and travel home tomorrow.
Cache was a quick find once I saw the hint item. Hmmm a bike hidden in the bushes nearby. Stolen??
Thanks for the cache. Hoping to get enough today for my solstice souvenir.

This was my emergency closest to home cache for the day. Managed to grab quickly and get home in time to make tea for the grandkiddos and just as the light fades out of the sky. TFTC.
After doing the 4 letter word I went and tried this cache. I took while but then it was a quick find when I was in the right spot. TFTC
Quite by chance, stumbled on the previous container on the weekend, and it still had part of the log.
At first I read the instructions wrong and didn't realise you could make shorter guesses. Once I realised it was much easier! Very enjoyable puzzle, thanks! All good at the final. TFTC!
One of my favourite 5 letter words would have to be "cache" and another is "found" so win/win here. No idea how these work but they are fun. Somewhere I kept a note of how many tries it took but I didn't put that into the notes so its all a bit of a guess too. TFTC # 18,818
Found it! Crashed much further into the bush than required, but doubling back and trying again led me quickly to the cache. TFTC!
On a weekend caching mission to qualify for another GLSC licence.
That was a bit of fun messing with the routine in my browser. It took a couple of go’s for me to cotton on and then I was on a roll.
I got to watch some cricket before and after making the find. TFTC

Solved a while ago with no problems, Elapsed time = 127 seconds. Tagged along with muggle partner on a trip out this way to purchase some supplies and it was a quick find thanks to the detailed description of the location on the cache page. All in good order, TFTC and fun puzzle.
Team G0LD: Geocachers 0B80B8, Lis's crew and DaffyNZ are down from Whangarei for a few days. We've all solved the 4 big geoarts so they are the main target for the trip.
Of course there were many other puzzles solved as well. I had some inconsistencies when solving the 4 letter puzzle so gave up. With my Chch list already too long I didn't get back to trying again. Now I've got some homework to do after I get my logs written. I've been too busy to do wordle lately too.
Anyway a quick find at gz after we adjusted the co-ords. Thanks for another puzzle cache

Team G0LD ( 0B80B8, Lis's crew & DaffyNZ ) on a caching mission to Christchurch. We had travelled down from Whangarei yesterday, so today was our first full day to get into it.
Solved puzzles were going to be the main focus of our trip. We had spent a lot of 2020 and 2021 solving over 400 puzzles, so we had a lot on our list. Thankfully the weather looked like it was going to play ball today, as caching in the rain is always just that bit harder.
I think I managed to crack this one on the first attempt, which was pleasing. That was quite a while ago, so after seeing the note on the page about adjusting the final coords, we made a nice quick find in the logical location. TFTC

TFTC. I solved this some time ago. Lovely to be signing the log today.
I really enjoyed this series.
This park is the location of the first event I attended. I arrived with a brand new gps and got advice how to use it. Did my first 200 caches from a printout of the map!!

M and set off to look for the cache but we were not having much luck at the coordinates with the hint not making any sense. Then I read that with my coordinates I need to make some adjustments. We did that and had a decent walk to the new coordinates. There the hint made much more sense and we were soon signing the log. I saw a credit card thrown on the ground so retrieved it and will hand it into the bank tomorrow. I wonder if it was stolen?
Successfully solved this puzzle with plenty of time to spare .Was beaten to this find by Forestq1 but I still take credit for solving the puzzle. TFTC
I noticed this little series of puzzles a few months ago while looking at caches in CHC while planning for our trip to the area. Solved the first 2 without problems but got a bit stuck with the third one as I just could keep up with the required rate to solve it alone. A couple of weeks ago I showed Mrs B and she helped to keep me going in the right direction, 6 letters was solved on the third attempt, very satisfying as it is quite a trick puzzle in the time allowed.
After a busy few days caching around Lyttleton, this morning we decided to go to the Riccarton Market for breakfast and a look around before dropping Mrs B off for her flight at midday. We had just enough time to fit in the series while on our way to the airport and pickup the three caches in this series along the way.
when we arrived at the coordinates this cache was no where to be seen. We didn't have much time so headed on to the next, in the mean time Mrs B did a little reading and found that the final had been moved. Did a little recalculation after picking up 6 letters and we were off to the new GZ. Quick find here, cache is in good shape. TFTC.

Last find of the day & it was a quickie for RNZ after a good fossick
My nephew has recently moved to ChCh so today we are catching up with RG72’s him & taking him on a mini tiki tour. First stop the Colombo Mall for my favourite dumplings for lunch, onto Lyttelton & the farmers market via the tunnel, Sumner beach and finally a beer at the Tannery. We had a great afternoon on a gorgeous autumn day, and RNZ was a happy camper because he managed to fit in a few caches before and after.

After watching Nelson Suburbs get thrashed by Christchurch United with my son, I dropped him back at his place and went to find a few more caches. A clever puzzle I solved on my second attempt. At GZ I was a bit wary as it looked like someone might be living there. No one at 'home' so I looked fror the cache and it was still in its hiding place. TFTC, Biggles.
As mentioned by BigglesNZ, looks like somebody is living at the cache location. Nobody at home when I visited, stepped over the tent and tomato sauce bottle to sign the cache; TFTC
Today we were catching up with RG72’s nephew, who is new to town, and taking him on a bit of an orientation around town.
This included the Colombo Mall, Lyttelton market via the tunnel, Sumner beach and the Tannery. We had a great time on a nice autumn day, and managed to fit in a select few caches before and after.
And here they are…..
An interesting puzzle, but not too difficult in the end. But I realise this is a more achievable one, and I have not completed the tougher one yet!
We thought we would get one more to round out the day, but on arrival thought, no, too muggly. But I read the cache page further, noted the updated coords, and we set off for a quick find.
No problems here, TFTC StreetWalker.

We are spending the day caching around Christchurch to collect as many solved puzzles as we can. We enjoyed the challenge of solving this one in the time allowed. Arrived at GZ this afternoon and failed to see any sign of a cache. We then checked the cache page and saw that the final location has been moved. Did the workings to compute the new final and set off again. This time we arrived at GZ and had a quick find. Thanks.
New cache in place in a different location. Cache listing updated with details, including how to compute the new final from the original final coords.
Excellent puzzle. So much fun to solve. My answer had zz at the end. How unlucky! Unfortunately I couldn't find this cache... and after checking with CO I can confirm I was looking in the right spot.
I really enjoyed this and the 4 letter word puzzles, I am still to master the next one though, fingers and brain don't seem to work quick enough at the same time, but I will keep on trying and hopefully one day it will also be sorted. In the meantime there will be a few four letter words muttered every time I run out of time.
We were looking for somewhere to sit and have our lunch and a cuppa in the shade, as I checked out the map of likely looking spaces I spotted this solved mystery cache, so we headed here and had a lovely sit under the trees.
There were a few people around but noone near gz. I had read the COs note about the hide changing and we thought we would go and have a look before making contact for the new hide hint. The new hide was quickly spotted (no need for a hint). The log was signed and returned as we found it.
Thanks for the fun mystery and the frustration for the next one in the series, and of course thank you for the smiley

Paddle chick and I headed to Christchurch last Friday for the weekend as it is Sir Belac birthday on Tuesday and we were unable to be there to Celebrate with him. Great to beable to mark this cache off. Thanks StreetWalkerNZ
I enjoyed solving this one and the 4 letter word one, still have to crack the 6 letter word. Managed this one in 200 seconds. Found the container quicker than that. Thanks for the puzzle and cache StreetWalkerNZ

Quite easy and fun to solve, I enjoyed this a lot. Of course GZ is close to a playground, playgrounds are everywhere in Christchurch, so little cacher was keen to go and "retrieve" it. He played while I was doing the search and find. I suddenly saw him running around the playground as he had lost sight of me. I called him, he joined and noted the good work on the cache container, before heading back to its business. Thanks for the great puzzle and fun container.
A few goes to get this one (no such luck with the next one yet) and then onto the hunt. Not quite what the huint said, but close enough. Cheers
I solved this one on my lunch break today, 2 attempts and got it in 211 seconds on the 2nd go. A quick find at GZ. TFTC!
Quick find this afternoon while trundling around town.
I had to write the alphabet down to help me divide and conquer.

Container replaced today (different container in same hiding place). If this ones goes missing I might have to change the location. Hint shown when solved has been updated. If you already have the coords, send them to me and I'll give you the new hint.
Just found the log (as per 2wombles log). I'll look to get a new container in place in the next few days. In the meantime I won't disable the cache, as the log is still there.
A quick lunchtime jaunt out this way to find a few caches.
Found the attachment method. Found the log on the ground.Container appears to be missing. Tied the attachment method to this log and hid again. Needs a check

This one took a bit longer than the 4 letter word and took me a few goes. Quick easy find on my way past after taking a roman spear from work. Thanks for the cool puzzle and of course the effort that goes into placing and maintaining a cache.
A nice quick find thanks.
I have been here 2 or 3 times but stuggled to find a quiet time to hunt. I ended up coming here after dropping some MIQ goodies to Ms_KR and got lucky at 5pm on a chilly windy day.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

What a novel puzzle. I'm enjoying being in level 2 and decided to celebrate by going out geocaching. Thanks for hiding this cache StreetWalkerNZ I appreciate it.
In the general area ftfing '6 letter' so figured that i may as well stop past this gz. Getting brisk so next to no one else around for a quick find. A great wee puzzle. Thanks.

Found on a dog walk.
Elapsed time = 175 seconds.
Word of the day is: **hveav**
I did this on the second try but not because it was much harder than the previous one. Rather because I was doing this on a break at work and my colleague started asking what I was doing, and then I had to go and explain geocaching, what puzzle caches are and who and how makes the caches. So that timer ran out. And I had had such a good start there too...
Anyway, only took a few seconds longer than the 4-letter word. But now I see that at the time of logging, there is a new one published, and that one is a toughie...
Finding the physical cache was easy enough with the provided hint. Just a matter of checking about 5 or 6 objects of the same kind. After dog poop near misses and a stick in the eye, this one was safer for me too, with no hazards around.
Kia ora! Paldies!
Thanks, StreetWalkerNZ!

After solving "4 letters" pretty quickly, when this one was published I felt a little intimidated by the pressure of both less time and guesses available. On my first attempt I ran out of time seeking the last letter. Okay, I'll leave it for a day or so.
When I returned, my next couple of attempts also went overtime but on the 3rd attempt I managed the solve with 66 seconds left on the clock.. It would have been nice to have had a counter of the number of guesses it took. Maybe that is something that the CO could add to this and the other puzzles in the series[?]
This morning being another blue sky,frost-free morning, was just the condition I like for a cyclocache ride into the city. Rode in via the track (still quite muddy[xx(]) beside the Otukaikino Creek to the Groynes and Lake Roto Kohatu to the airport (Reward Fresh Cafe for some needed sustenance ) before homing on GZ. The cache was quickly located and signed and then it was time to seek out the nearby "4 letters". TFTC SW

The old "on the way home from work" visit for me. Luckily I was in the right vehicle so had my caching bag with me. Most importantly, I had my torch with me!
The puzzle may well have been quicker to solve than the first in the series, but only because I had a stragey sorted already. Like the first puzzle I was able to get the coords on my first attempt.
The find was another story. I used my torch, went along the (insert hint items here) and saw nothing, widened my search unnecessarily, then returned to plan "a". When I *did* see it I found I could see it with or without the torch, even at night. Silly me.

Wow!!!-----took me 230 secs, so this doesn't bode well for six. However enjoyed this little find in a place we used to take our grandchildren. Never known that place to be known by it's proper name. Thank you.

Noticed this when our cache [Karl Popper's view](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC9D7V3) was published. Quickly solved. Decided on a diversion en route to work despite early morning traffic. GPSr jumped around a lot under the tall trees, which meant it took a bit longer than it should have. Inspected several hint items before uncovering the correct one. TFTC StreetwalkerNZ!

I solved this after breakfast, and thought I could be in for an FTF as noone had logged. As I was heading past the airport a log came in... All good! Still going for it anyway. This is a really interesting way of doing puzzles. I was pretty sure I knew where it would be when I pulled up. Sure enough i was bang on.

Solved this puzzle over breakfast. After the first in the series, I had my technique sorted and 166 secs later, (slightly faster than the four letter word , I had some co-ordinates.
Took a while to get going this morning, then my Oregon refused to start up , so wondered if I could use off-line maps on c:geo on my phone instead (I have only used this app once before as don't have mobile data turned on). Arrived at GZ, with hint foremost in mind, and a reasonable idea of where the cache would be located, thanks to google maps. Glanced around and bingo! An instant find without having to faff around with the phone.
Not surprised to see that I was beaten by about 20 mins. Nice hide. TFTC.
