We woke to a foggy morning that cleared up slowly as we ventured from our motel room to complete the nearby labcache and continue work on the mystery. Once they were completed we headed to a virtual, multi and letterbox to complete our Echuca to do list. Now with the sun shining we were able to enjoy the ambiance of a bush walk to finalise this cache after parking the i30 not much further on from the parking waypoint. With our projection working out perfectly we were able to make a quick find here in a logical location. Thanks Dromaniax for the letterbox placement and bringing us out into nature today.
Found 17 Aug 2024 at 5:53:40PMOut for the weekend with sedgwickDave, aim was to attend many of the Cache Crawl 24 events and find some select caches along the way. After finding somewhere along the river to camp for the night, we headed back Towards Echuca to find some more caches before the dinner event. Many thanks to Dromaniax for placing Boxed in the Bush for us all to find. It was a great way to start the day at 8:30am on a Sunday. No rain so thats a bonus this time of year, and the birdsongs was a nice accompaniment. Now to begin the other events of the Great Victorian Cache Crawl day 2
Boxed indeed, square with a clip top lid to be precise. Met a couple of sketchy types who told me all about this endeavour called geocaching - ok sounds great lets give it a go. Tftc and hi to my new friends.
My plan for this weekend was attending most of the "The Great Victorian Cache Crawl" while collecting old geocaches, multicaches, and a tree climb for the adventure. Plus, whatever else caught our eyes as we passed.Of the old geocaches, it looks like we got...X2 2001X2 2002X2 2005X1 2006X3 2007Favourite caches of the weekend we were the 2001 caches. Not because they were old ones, but because the items at GC255F were completely unexpected, and the adventure at GC277B of walking over the flooded spillway and climbing the cliff in the rain was risky and therefore exciting. Overall, not huge numbers of caches found, but a great weekend adventure. Big thanks to Geocaching Victoria for organising the events and getting so many geocachers to attend. With Huntress off doing at 30 kilometre run with the dawn, it was time for me to grab a few bush geocaches, and the Murray River Park area was selected. Thanks for the cache, Dromaniax.Hunter
Well wasn't this an adventure to start the day!The track to get us close was closed so we parked the van and decided to ride the bikes to GZ.We went backwards and forwards, down tracks and back and at various times were completely cross country, but pleased to say that we eventually got there!Chased a fox down one track for a while, that was exciting as we theoretically don't have foxes at home in Tasmania. Thanks Dromaniax.
Final leg home with fitzy_1965 after heading to Adelaide for Leap Day event. We targeted old and unusual along the way.All caches found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned. Thanks to all CO's.
34,501. Found with minniek during our trip to The Great Leap Forward Mega Event in Adelaide on 29th February 2024.Day 7 : After staying overnight at the Swan Hill Big4 Caravan Park, we packed up with an aim to meander our way back home via any convenient caches along the way. There were a couple on our list though which we did go for. Overall the drive home was pretty good with a wide variety of countryside observed. All caches were found without issue unless stated. This one was the next one we tried for, and it was a quick find once we were at GZ. Stamped the log, replaced the cache as found, then headed off to the next one. Thanks Dromaniax !!
Suscoe was having an around Echuca caching morning today.Another delightful day was emerging. We found a good range of caches that took us to interesting places. Thanks to Dromaniax for this letterbox.A pleasant ride to GZ.The cache was in great condition.
Day 27. A last minute plan had been hatched to make my by way to QOGM. Very little planning had been done but a very rough outline was in place and it was going to be a day by day trip. After a very late night stop just outside of Swan Hill it was off to Longwood today for a few days of camping with friends before finally returning home. A few key stops though along the way in Swan Hill, Echuca and Shepparton.Last time I visited, this area was still drying out from the floods. The cache had floated away, however now the CO has replaced it, its time to turn the frown into a . Thanks Dromaniax for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy.----------------------------------------------------------The 12 Days of Cachemas series is now live. Meet up with family for a few days of caching in Echuca, it’s going to be nice and green here this spring TFTC
On our way back from the Big Red Bash music festival in Birdsville and looking for somewhere to drop a trackable. Premium cache only need apply. This one fitted the bill, so into Echuca for a convenience break and to calculate the projection. Yep, done. A beautiful walk on a drizzly day. Thanks for the cache placement Drominatrix, I grabbed two trackables, dropped one, grabbed one pathtag and dropped one of my own. Thumbs up and a fp to boot.
This one was certainly lost to the floods. Cache replaced. Two trackables dropped. Two pathtags left. Please only take one path tag
The roads in to GZ were all closed due to flood damage. I made the walk in, expecting this cache may not be found and unfortunately my hunch was confirmed. This whole area was under water so I suspect it may have had an impact on the hide. Or - it could have been tricky and eluded me.
Found by J-Bean with SirJ-Oz and AmethystPig while I welded the stamp that was in the cache...apparently it is not easy being green. TFTC
Found at 1608 out on a caching stroll during an Easter break with SirJ-Oz + family (-1) and Muggle-L.
SirJ did the puzzle work prior to the holiday, so all I had to do was the walking and finding bit.
Thanks Dromaniax

Find #5133. Found @ 16:10 with AmethystPig, Muggle-L and j-bean.
In Echuca for an Easter getaway with family and friends and the cemetery is the closest caching location to where we are staying, so it makes sense to tackle them first. But now we're moving on from the cemetery to the back of beyond (the veil).
I'd solved this one before we got to Echuca, so it was just a matter of collecting. Muggle-L decided to stamp my hand while I was signing the log.
Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables.
Thanks for the cache Dromaniax.

Thanks to Mrs Riddell who did the paperwork remotely from home while Mrs Riddell could do a large walk around and pick up all these lovely caches, including this lovely hide “in a Box”.

I wish i had read the description on this one before arriving at the posted coordinates, it would have saved me some back tracking. Still, its a beautiful day in a beautiful area, i have nothing to complain about.
Calculated the projection and headed in that direction. A few other caches were found before we got to GZ.
e.Gregory1 and Freddo decided to travel to Wangaratta for Geocaching Victoria’s first 2022 Mega event. The attraction of GeoMaze icon was just too tempting. We packed the Land Cruiser for a bubble environment. There would be some public exposure but we would be keeping it minimal. Fortunately we did not bother with any warm clothes. Fortunately we packed some Bushmans with +20% DEET. There were caches to find and we found caches. We saw a lot of interesting places and met the occasional geocacher or two in the field.
I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count.
This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and a Samsung S8. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs...
Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun.
Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke für den Cache. Gracias por el caché. Bedankt voor de cache. Kiitos kätköstä. Zikomo posungira. Terima kasih untuk cache. Hvala cache. Köszönöm a cache. Nga mihi mo te keteroki. Dankie vir die kas.

Found as I made my way from Adelaide to the Mega event at Wangaratta with Freddo.
We meandered our way across northern Victoria, camping along the river and generally avoiding contact with other people as far as possible to minimise covid risks. We targeted some specific caches of interest, but also took the opportunity to find other caches opportunistically as we were passing.
After calculating the final coordinates we enjoyed the short drive to GZ for a quick find.
Thanks Dromaniax for the cache.

No getting boxed in today!. No muggles out here today! Unplanned visit to Echuca for a few days and here I am in Wazza’s Paddock so to speak seeking out a clutch of caches in this dry flat pocket - but very interesting and rideable terrain on the ‘trusty MTB nevertheless. It’s proved to be a fruitful arvo and good way to explore and take fun shortcuts. Enroute back east via Wangaratta for the mighty MEGA in a few days. TFTC and the FUN.
Well, this was fun. Google maps showed us a way to drive to GZ but, as we followed the directions, we encountered some bollards across the road. One of the bollards had been removed, so there was plenty of room for us to drive through. As we progressed, conditions deteriorated, and we ended up following very faint signs of previous usage.
The fuel gauge had been sitting below zero for quite some time, but the fuel prices were so high that I was hanging on to see if there was cheaper available.
We soon found the cache, with the contents strewn on the ground. Gathering everything up again we replaced it in it's hiding spot.
Looking for a shorter way out to the highway, we noticed another trad nearby, so we had to get that one too.
We then proceeded, only to find a locked gate blocking the way onto the highway. A neighbour called out that we had to go back through the bollards, so we turned back hoping the fuel would last.
Though the track was rough, we took our time and negotiated the smoothest way but, after a while, there was a loud noise, and we had snapped the camber bar on the steering. I knew this wasn't going to cause too much trouble, so we kept on going, and eventually we ran out of fuel about 30 metres from the service station. Lucky I carry a container. Sometimes God does watch over us geocachers!
All fuelled up, it was time to settle down for the night.
Thanks for the adventure, Dromaniax, most of it self inflicted.

I’ve been watching this 1st to find for a few days now. Waiting for the perfect opportunity to get here on a school night. Watching watching waiting waiting. Unfortunately it wasn’t a 1st to find but it was a second to find. Thanks for the hide.
Joint {ftf} with dalerious. What a night this turned out to be. Come out to hopefully walking away with one ftf, and coming away with two, and making it back to work in time to unload the last truck. So many beautiful things; caching with my soulmate, signing a blank log, collecting beautiful pathtags and enjoying life and forgetting about the craziness that can consume our thoughts during these challenging times. Dromaniax, you have excelled in producing exciting caches and beautiful pathtags. Keep them all coming.
Joint {FTF} with catnap777 @6:34pm.
Using c:geo as our preferred caching app, we had our projection sorted quickly from home, but cat' and I had to wait for a "break in the traffic" to make our run for FTF. With one eye on the watch list, we knew we were still in the hunt for it two days later when our chance came with a bit of time to kill between jobs back in Tatura. We had found our opportunity and it was likely now or never.
Although we could see more rain on the radar and night was falling fast, we did have raincoats, torchlight, hiking boots and a determination to get our names in this log book first.
We used them all.
TFTC and pathtag Dromaniax.
I wonder what this place looks like in daylight.
