Tftc! Beautiful morning walk for it. Tricky to find but fun for us and the kids.
Lots of hiding spots in this gem. I love the way looks compared to all the others around too. Great hiding spot and the log stamped before being replaced. TFTC Lorigus74
Lovely view and thanks for bringing us to this special spot. With chook os wozzle and chunk decided to get away on cache crawl.
Found by Mary and David at 13:10. We thought you had a Japanese interest. You certainly know your botany. The namesake of this tree is certainlty a remarkable survivor. Gets a FP. Our thanks to lorigus74.
Woohoo find #400 for me! Thanks to some of the new Geocahing friends for their support to help me find it! TFTC

Out and about with omegaman, Happy feet and Happy Pants, there are always plenty of laughs while we are turning caches into smiles. This is one of the caches found today. Thanks lorigus74 for the cache.
Well my well earned 2 week break has come to an end as Im heading home today after staying in Rochester, Hay, White Cliffs, Cunnamulla, Toompine, Charleville then Cunnamulla again, Wanaaring, Hillston then Tatura last night. The trip included some very big detours due to lots of road closures due to the rain but it was still a very enjoyable trip. The sun has disappeared now and there is moisture in the air as well.I havent cached in Tatura before but when I was younger we used to cut through here to get to my sisters dairy farm.Finished of 2 Ad Labs then onto a few others then to start heading home. After my walk around the wetlands I relocated the Geocruiser to walk around the this lake and park to find a few more.Came to a nice spot in the park and after googling the cache name I understand the sad tale.Soon found the tree in question. Thanks lorigus74 TFTC.
Beautiful tree in a tucked away park made for a quick park and grab. Thanks for the hide!
Found at 11.30am. A lovely walk in the park. We googled the name of this cache to understand the CO's reason for placing it. A sad story. But a beautiful tree.ThanksK&M
Day 11 of my interstate trip. Today I left Greens Lake Reserve near Stanhope and made my way a bit closer to Sydney spending the night in Everton. I managed to find 16 caches today and only 1 DNF.A quick find while huning caches around town.TFTC lorigus74
While attending the lunch event today, I arrived early to locate some caches in the area.I was able to park near this one, with just a short walk. Thanks lorigus74.
Continuing our tour of Tat, now with Spiffy- Clan and Team BackPAQer, it was time for a wander to this cache.I love this lorigus74, I have never been to Hiroshima or even Japan and I have never heard of Hibakujumoku before. I looked it up when I got home, and wow, how interesting. Until now I thought the only thing to survive were cockroaches. Thanks for sharing with us.I'm glad the tall BackPAQer was with us as he retrieved the cache. Thanks lorigus74
Woke up in Tatura and thought I would do a bit of caching before the event.A nice tree, lots of possible hiding spots.Fortunately a quick find before I did something silly. Thanks, Robmc.
Fab extraordinary tree! The tour of TAT using the caching model has been full of surprises and this is a rather fabulous tribute to the community!. Im on a multi mission and the circuitous detour from Melbs to home base in the NE via Shep and Tatura has plenty of rewards including the EVENT thats attracted a huge crowd. TFTC and the FUN!
A plan was hatched to go to my first Central Victorian geocaching event so we headed off with Snips and Co for a one day road trip from the south of Melbourne up to Tatura. Our first cache in Tatura and a nice quick find was made here. Thanks lorigus74 for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.
Visiting Tatura to attend the Central Victoria event with my dogs, They waited patiently in the car while I attended the lunch ( they slept) so was time for a walk. This was one of the caches we collected. Nice walk and quick find. TFTC
Tatura staying in the RV camp area,We completed the caches that were close to the town This was a great way to visit the area,Thanks lorigus74 for hiding this cache.
Found with Bogonghazy whilst staying at Numurkah for a week. Thanks for placing the geocache
Quick find with LittleBoss2 while heading back to Bendigo. Thanks again lorigus74. Climbed the tree unnecessarily. Doh
Full time Nomads, travelling around Australia since 2014. In Shepparton for a few days as we wend our way towards Canberra for the GeoBashTFTC lorigus74 [^]
There is a wasp nest right next to this cache that is active! Just a heads up!! Other than that thanks for the cache!!
The house is being painted, we have an excitable puppy, so we decided to go away for 5 days up to Wakiti near Echuca using our Travel Auctions win. Very good value with lovely owners. Virtually no internet though so catching up with logging now.
This morning we were heading off for a day of caching and water tank or silo hunting in the local area and this cache was next. After finding the other cache nearby we pulled over so GMelb could find this one whilst JMelb stayed in the car with geopuppyV. Nice easy find.

TFTC. lorigus74 for your cache Hibakujumoku that we found today.
We are staying at our daughter’s farm block jut outside Shepparton. After the overnight and morning rain the sun started to make an appearance. We decide to head out to Tatura for a few hours caching. All caches found in good order.

Had some time to waste in tat so we thought we would have another try at this one as last time there was a wasp nest in the tree all goon now though.

I spotted some post CSI events on the calendar and since I had a few days up my sleeve I hatched a plan to do some travel to connect them all up.
I parked up for the night just outside of Benalla and after a relaxing morning I headed off towards Shepparton and the afternoon CITO.
Found this cache hiding away while in the area for the CITO.
Thanks lorigus74 for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy.

Met up with McLookers in Murchison to grab a few caches and then head up to Tatura for the CITO this evening. This was just one of the few we found today. Thanks lorigus74 for placing this cache and adding to the game board.
Reading the previous logs I thought this may take me a while. I didn’t have the trusty TBS with me but… I as it turns out I didn’t need him. I found the cache quite quickly.

Heading into the Shepparton area to visit the latest member of our family. I thought I'd try to get a few caches in a new LGA and more in the Shepparton LGA. That new LGA being the "Campaspe Shire Council". Collected a few others on route too. Not as many as we wanted, but didn't have a lot of time.
The title started a debate on what the name meant and then moved on to the Latin names of animals and plants. "Rattus Rattus" was the best Latin name we could remember.
Thanks for the cache Lorigus 74

That’s two for today. I should have bought the bug spray though as the mozzies had a field day. Plus I found a few 8 legged friends hitching a ride on the way out.

A bit of a tricky one…obvious once you find it, but I guess most caches are like that. Beautiful spot, lots of wonderfully varied birdsong, plus frogs & other wildlife…all calling for someone’s attention!
After a lovely walk in this lovely park i soon had cache in hand
A great hide i love the old tree
Signed log and replaced where found TFTC a favourite point from me

The weather forecast was for quite a pleasant day for this time of the year... so I decided to take a "caching road trip" to go chasing a "dead premier" and a "giant sudoku". Tatura was my first caching stop on my drive up from Melbourne...
This cache was a short walk from the first one I found... so a stroll through the park was in order. What could have turned out to be a long search wasn't as I happened to stand in just the right spot and look in just the right direction. Thanks **lorigus74** for this cache.

I don't think i've seen one of these trees before, but i like them... plenty of spots to hide things in
A quick find [a bit of sheer luck given the amount of possible spots] and sign at 12:34 on Tuesday 26 July 2022.

Lovely walk through park with cockatoos screeching. Found evidence of wasp, cache soon in hand. TFTC
Enjoying some time in Tatura and exploring the town via some geocaches. Really enjoyed the wander around this lovely town early in the morning With grass being a bit long and quite wet it wasn’t too long before my shoes and socks were also quite wet TFTC lorigus74
A couple of dog walkers passed by as we made our way to GZ but otherwise the area was deserted. It took a few minutes to find the cache as well as a nearby wasp nest. Thanks to lorigus74 for the cache.
After the wasp event last time, Greg was not getting out of the car, but I was determined to get a smiley on this cache.
As the morning was cooler, I donned my jumper and firmed up the hoodie ties, tucked my hands into the sleeves and set forth to conquer the beasts.
Yep, there you are wasps - you just stay there quietly. No sight of the cache so I widely circled the tree until I spotted the snug hide.
A cautious grab and I had the cache in hand and log stamped.
Yay. A smiley at last.

Bunadoorian and I had arrived in Tatura after attending a Dawn Service in Melbourne. This was the second cache we tried for today - but the first we found. Cache was well hidden. TFTC and for bringing us here lorigus74.
It's not often I have time to get out caching these days but today we the sun was shining, time was on our side and another ANZAC Day event was organised. The Central Victorian Get Together events started in 2007 and have run on ANZAC Day for almost every year since then. We've attended all except two.
Wasps. But none that were interested in me. A quick and safe find if tackled from the right angle.
Thank you, lorigus74, for this cache.
#4175. Log signed at 1535Hrs.
(I often sign the log book as "W+W" to save paper/time/ink)

Just gave the geopooch a walk to this one from the totems, a lovely spot for a walk and she has enjoyed a few dips along the way.
Just happened to look the right way at the right time and spotted it. Signed log and tucked away again. Tftc
Found the wasps, and avoided their area, looking, looking, likely spots checked, moving around the area, finally spotted a spot closer than we wanted... yep, there it is, retrieved and returned without disturbing the stingers. TFTC
Managed to avoid the paperwasps that gave others a problem, but had to disturb the small frog that was guarding the cache.

Those wasps sure get angry when you approach their tree from the wrong side. Mr Harrowang got stung twice before even looking for the container! So back to the GeoCruiser to get on full protection gear for a second attempt. (See photo) Yes, the tree is fabulous, and yes SL at 12.12pm and replaced container without further stings #8541 TFTC lorigus74 - but not the paper wasps!
Geohubby approached the tree ahead of me and suddenly he was on his knees on the ground, flailing his arms and ripping his shirt off. Turns out the paper wasps had attacked him, although initial fears were bees that he is allergic to.
After an inspection for no stingers in skin of 4 bites on his neck and back, he retreated to the car.
Satisfied that he was not having an anaphylaxis, I circled the tree a couple of times at a safe distance before deciding to leave the paper wasps be for the day.
Next trip they will hopefully be departed.

Well, we've established that I'm not allergic to wasp stings.
As I walked up to the coordinates, the little blighter flew straight into the blind spot on my schnoz, and started attacking, getting at least a couple of jabs in before I could dislodge it, let alone realise what was happening.
I'm sure n0w0rries and the elderly gentlemen he stopped to chat with were highly entertained by the yelp and jump backwards.
And then the eye-watering stinging set in. Wow.
"So, we walking away?"
"Not bloody likely... come on, you little sods, I'll have ya!"
No problem getting the container out once I approached a bit more cautiously from a different direction, and spotted it through the years.
The fun part was putting it back after we'd signed, as I was buzzed a time or two before I got the cache back in place. But a watchful eye was all I needed to avoid a repeat performance.
Thanks, lorigus74, for highlighting an interesting tree that I'll remember for quite a while.
The stinging subsided as I walked towards the next, nearby, hide.
---
Got a phone call from n0w0rries.
"Gotta take a load of lumber up the road. It's gonna be really boring. Wanna come?"
How could I resist such a sales pitch?
So there I was, at stupid o'clock, walking through a dark cemetery to ride shotgun. As you do.

Upon approach there were a number of questions raised.
What's your mate up to? Why is he dancing around that tree?
Do you reckon he's been stung? Yep! Right on the tip of his nose! [:o)]
Perhaps the warning from Cybergran V needed to be taken more seriously.
We shall discuss this with her shortly, over a cuppa and a bikkie.
What a magnificent botanical specimen this is. Can't say that I have ever seen one similar in over 60 years.
Thanks for a most memorable geocache lorigus74, although I bet it is remembered longer by nirgalagrin.

Needing a traditional to reach the base camp of Mt Everest, and having been invited for lunch at Tatura, this was the nearest cache, and it served the purpose.
Thanks for placing it here, good hide, had a few options of where it could be, but eventually chose the right one.
Just a warning though that there up is a paper wasp’s nest very close to the cache.

I can’t pronounce the name of this tree but happily wandered over to GZ with the CO.
Tried a few spots then read a log and realised it was tucked away in another hidey hole. Logged and left where it was as it seems secure

TFTC last find for the day for my son age 8 and his 9 yr old friends. I loved seeing his determination to get this this one. It was a little out of his reach but he got it in the end. Thanks for introducing us to Caching and this great little park Lorigus
