We are on a caravanning trip around Australia seeing the sights and finding a few caches along the way. I had seen this geoart and decided to solve and then find them as we were passing through this area. I made more work for myself on the collection day due to not all caches downloading to my offline list which resulted in doubling back to get them. Interesting things seen were a couple of foxes. White farmers utes not sure how many we saw or whether they were just driving round in circles keeping an eye on what we were up to. Probably thought it was weird seeing a caravan parked on the side of the road in certain places while we got the bikes out and rode around to get the caches. At one spot a dog came and visited and then started to follow us when we rode off. Farmers hard at work on there tractors, baling hay, fixing g windmills and all those other jobs that need to be done. I got quite a few caches today so will specify where I can. Thanks for the geoart cache trail.
Today I have a plan to finish the Crayfish geo art, attend another event and find a few more random caches along the way. I think its going to be a big day TFTC GeocachingSAKeep smiling
Travelling with iluvtrekking from our home state of WA on a SA caching foray. Staying in Millicent for a few days to grab some finds placed for the ill fated Mega because of Covid. Very cold day but at least its not raining. Thanks for the hide. LNCU
Travelling with richlink on our Annual Caravan Geocaching road trip, using geocaching as our guide. We are staying at Millicent for the week, finding some of the caches we should have found if we had been able to attend the 2020 Mega. Thanks for the cache. LNCU.

Staying in Millicent for a few nights. Today going out to do the trails. Hardly any one about today.
A Leap Year Mega draws us to Adelaide. Today our intrepid group is based in Mount Gambier, and we are working through all the geo art, the challenges, and other caches of interest. We are using the Acronym 6 for QLD to sign the log sheets. As this is a bulk GSAK logging, this is a generic log.It was a pleasant drive through that countryside, and we were pleased to find all the caches on our list. So, log signed and cache replace as found on 13th March, 2024. TFTC, GeocachingSA.
After over seven weeks on the road, I'm back home and finally catching up on all my logging.Caching in South Australia was fantastic, so many good hides to find, and we found ourselves zigzagging all over the place doing lots of geoart but of course ran out of time to get everything done on our to-do list. The majority of caches we found were in great condition and well maintained, which is a credit to all the CO's who placed them, so thank you.Our logs were mostly signed as 6 for QLD to save room on the log sheets, and no doubt, we'll be back again in the future.

Find # 11357Well here it is, time for another MEGA, and an extra special one to. Its a leap year! So before the main event I decided Id head down to Millicent and surrounds to collect some geoart, and some of the all important (to me ) SFE challenges.Mentioned my plans to a few and lo and behold Weirdobiker was heading this way around to same time also so we decided to coordinate and teamed up for some caching adventures. A real mixed haul Id say, but any days caching is always good fun. Day 3 for Millicent. Finished of the GV2020 and doing the crayfish today. Signed as WBC as still with weirdobiker today. Thanks GeocachingSA for Crayfish #028
Ive headed to SA to attend the Great Leap Forward mega in Adelaide. So far our journey has found us in Bendigo, St Arnaud, Halls Gap and Mount Gambier and now Millicent and lots of places in between. Im particularly targeting some geo art in SA and Ive teamed up with Contesta for day 3 to collect the rest of the of the GV2020 and crayfish series. Signing as WBC today
Found and signed dsd or darksidedan or AB or Adventure Boys to save space in the logbook. Thanks for the cache and the Adventure. All good condition
Konie and I teamed up to find the caches in the crayfish series. Here, a quick find was made. We added our names to the log, returned everything as found, then continued on our way. TFTC
Staying in Millicent today and met up with Selva Girls to do some of the Crayfish series. Once at GZ the cache was soon in hand. Log signed and all returned as found. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for me and others to enjoy. TFTC GeocachingSA
We headed over the border with Robmc, the campers and the bikes for 4 days of caching. We had a coupe of days of fabulous weather and the rain held off for most of it.
Day 3 we left our camp at Tantanoola and headed back to finish off the crayfish. The roads were a bit busier today but the weather was kind. Again we replaced logs and containers as needed.
Thanks for contributing to a great few days of caching.

Day three on a SE SA short trip with The Morris.
We started this morning on the Crayfish Series.
We figured we would break this series up over a couple of days.
We had solved all these puzzles in preparation for the Millicent Mega that unfortunately was unavailable to me due to COVID restrictions.
Most of the container were OK, but we replaced four containers and several logs due to weathering.
We completed all the series today, but had to return for two that needed container replacement (we had run out!)
Thanks for this series, Robmc.

30,790. Found with minniek, albida33, Sol de lune, smittengranny (signing either as FAMSS or MAFSS to save room and just for fun). After the hordes around Rutherglen it was good to drop down to a group of 5.
Rutherglen Mega and South Australia Trip Day 9. Today was another great day for our little group - the last day the 5 of us will cache together for a while - caching around the Millicent region. We finished up the GV2020 series, then knocked off the Crayfish and Challenges, along with many higher D/T and other caches along the way. Awesome. This was a quick find at GZ. Signed, replaced, then we headed to the next one on the list.
Thanks GeoVenture2020 !!

Day 9 of our loop through Vic and SA then home.
Today fitzy_1965 and I again joined albida, Sol de lune & smittengranny. We signed as MAFSS to save room. Some of us may have rebelled and signed FAMSS instead.
Our aim was to finish the GV2020 series and to do the Crayfish series with anything we could find in between. We also did the SFE challenge series for good measure and will check these when I get home.
All caches were found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned.

Southern Autumn adventure Day 10. Post Mega South East SA trip Day 4. Millicent was our base to visit the geo-art in the area. We started the day in the off and on rain by doing the GV2020 art we started yesterday. Next was tackled the crayfish and finally the SFE caches. In between there were some other caches and we targeted some of the high D/T caches in the area. Today he team was Fitzy_1965, Albida33, MinnieK, Sole de Lune & Smitten Granny and logs were signed as FAMSS or similar.

After the Rutherglen mega, fitzy_1965, albida33, minniek, Smittengranny and myself headed to the Mount Gambier / Millicent region to tackle some of the caches from the Millicent mega that we couldn't get to.
Now onto day 2 of our run around the area and we started the day where we left off last night. No issues with those in the series, although there were one or two DNF's on other caches in the area.
Many thanks to all the CO's....it was good to hear the Millicent mega went well, but even better that we have finally made it across to find the caches.....

So the 5 interstate amigos hit the trails again today. First up, we finished the GV2020 series then the Crayfish and finally the SFE trail. It was a very rewarding day with lots of success but at times we had to replace the cache which was missing. At other times though we found two caches where a throw down had been placed as previous cachers couldn't find the original.
As if all these weren't enough we managed to hunt out and find a few traditionals followed by a couple of the UNAL caches, some of which were real challenges.
All logs were signed MAFSS ,or FAMSS, for minniek, Albida33, Fitzy_1965, Sol de Lune and Smittengranny. Thanks to all the cachers who have been/ are involved in the placement and maintenance of these caches.

Finally got around to solving this series recently. Made a start on finding a few while I had a break from work and babysitting.

Having solved the coordinates some time ago all that remained was to get myself to Millicent and to make the searches. Another found and more to come but I am now nearing the end of the series.
Out this morning to catch some crays before the heat set in, most were easy to find, three or four wet logs were replaced, two missing containers were replaced (found the ties but nothing else), back again tomorrow to complete the series

Out and about across several days with a fun caching crew that consisted of ChooknChunk, Team Crackers, micaparamedic, RoamingHowie, Papi4506, and GeoTurtle37.
The laughter, frivolity, cheeky comments, deep and meaningful conversations, drinking, eating, caching, dust, long grass, the spectacular Andrew (RoamingHowie also known as the human ladder) taking one or two or three for the team (geocaching certainly got him wet) , then there was Rob (Papi), his climbing skills and agility was second to none - amazing!! [^], and what Jo could do with a pole is impressive! [:X]
Life has been a little challenging lately (as it has been for many), but this geocaching trip instantly injected some nature, connection with others and different scenery into the mix (with the silliness and laughter) - just what the soul needed.
Thank you to those who placed the caches and then a special thanks to those who maintain the caches that we found. [:X]

We were hoping to attend the Mega here but we all know how Covid put an end to that idea. OzHockeyChick and RoamingHowie had hatched a plan, whilst in lockdown, of a lovely trip of caches and sightseeing for when they were allowed out. GT37 had invited us to join them, but we were still hampered by the various rules and regulations, only making it to the Vic/SA border.
We have been invited twice since then to make this trip and for various reasons, they fell through also. This time, we attended a Tritonz event in the Little Desert and a number of us continued on to see if we could make it and we did.
Geoturtle37, RoamingHowie, The Tritonz, Team Crackers, Micaparamedic and myself all headed here from the event and we were later re-joined by ChooknChunk.
We were lucky and didn't get enough rain to stop us, although it did get rather wet a few times and the long wet grass wasn't great. We managed to find all the caches and had a fun time doing so.
We were also lucky that a couple of pairs of gumboots had also managed to make the journey as they were definitely needed more than once.
Please excuse the generic logs. We only remembered to take a couple of notes as we were travelling along, enjoying the company of others.
Thank you for the time, money and effort that has gone into placing this geoart for us to enjoy. Definitely worth the trip.

We had already visited Millicent prior to the GeoVenture Event to collect all the solved geoart so we were happily surprised to see 2 more published after our visit. We promptly got to work solving both the Crayfish and the Finding a Fish series in anticipation for our visit for the mega. Well we all know how that turned out! Us Victorians were not allowed over the border due to another Covid outbreak, so these solved puzzles sat on our map patiently until we had the opportunity to visit once more.
That opportunity arose when fellow cachers were heading over here after our Celebration Event in the Little Desert and we tacked onto the convoy. Today we braved the weather with intermittent rain, long wet grass and a few water trenches (the gumboots came in handy) to complete the series on a fun day out with Team Crackers, Roaming Howie, Geoturtle37, Papi4506, micaparamedic, chooknchunk and Goodlook.
Thanks GeocachingSA for the effort in placing these caches and maintaining such a large series for us and others to enjoy.

After a fabulous weekend in the Little Desert, we headed back home to Beaufort to drop Chunk off so he could earn some geocaching money, then Chook hitched up the Geo-Pod and hoofed it to Millicent to rejoin the group to hit up the Millicent geoart and other caches, that us Vics had been unable to do at GV2020 time due to that damn virus. Having trouble settling on (or would that be remembering) our team name, some logs were signed as Team Vic, others as VVR. No trouble presolving this geoart. Thank you to the GeoVenture2020 team for putting out these caches so that we could come over and have a fun time solving them.
We had solved these puzzles not long after they came out as we were planning to be at the Mega but that was not possible because of Covid.
So a plan was made to visit with ChooknChunk, Geoturtle37,Papi4056, Goodlook, micaparamedic,The_Tritonz and Roaming Howie we headed off to try our luck at the Millicent caches.
This was our first series and we had a fantastic time trying to beat each other to the finds in amongst the grass. We are happy to say all caches were found even with the very long grass and being very wet in places. Even the weather was kind and it only rained a couple of times.
Many thanks GeocachingSA for the puzzles, hides and nice art work.
Apologies for the generic log but we had too much fun and didn't take notes.
I was out and about for some post Mega wind down time. After heading to Dimboola for the event weekend I jumped on the end of a convoy to Millicent. Having setup over night it was off to explore today and collect some of the caches from the Mega we couldn’t make it to.
We toured the countryside and very overgrown grass to collect some of the powertrails. To save on log space these were logged as Team Vics (and a couple as VVR). The group included The_Tritonz, Team Crackers, Papi4506, GeoTurtle37, micaparamedic and myself.
All caches were found in good condition.
Thanks GeocachingSA for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to mindful

with it being School holidays in Victoria I had some time spare to head to Millicent where I teamed up with the Empire for a few days caching in the area, we had a fantastic time exploring the area. Today we tackled the Crayfish before chasing a few D/T combos on the SFE trail and the UNAL series, once they were done it was back into town to grab a few before trying out the local Pizza for Dinner.

In Millicent for a few days of caching fun! The Crayfish was the first series we wanted to complete this morning. With the cold wind keeping the crowds at bay, we were able to find all of the caches in this series without too many interruptions from the locals. Cows mooing, sheep... barring? We smashed it out and were able to check out some tree climbs nearby. Thanks for the caches in this cool series GeoVenture2020.

We know geocachers in SA never do things by halves! Today along with fellow Victorians Suscoe we enjoyed the geocaching seafood this enormous cray provided as well as put smilie faces on the geo - art on our respective geo-maps. We did appreciate the accurate co'ords.

Over in SA again with a cut down group of geocaches compared to last time. We felt it was time this group of Victorians found some Millicent caches, as we were banned from the mega! We are signing the logs as Vic1. Thanks for the sometimes challenging caches GeoVenture2020!
Found by Mary and David, in company with McLookers, beckNmonts, Alansee, muzza, and Rabbitto (signing as VIC1), at at 11:49. Day 2 of our trip, planned to tackle the many caches around Millicent, as we'd been locked down last year and unable to attend GV2020. Our thanks to GeocachingSA.

scramping needed some caches to move signal through the Labyrinth and I needed some caches, just because it has been awhile. It was a cold, wet afternoon but we achieved our goal. An easy find.

Not much happening out here today, great day for caching actually. All good with cache.
It has been at least 12 months since I was last in this area and more caches meanwhile appeared on the horizon. These crayfish puzzles were resolved over one of our many lockdowns and filed safely away.
I am based in Beachport for 5 days. Lots of fishing and golf to do but a morning was devoted to turning these crayfish into smiley faces.
I was on my own but a good series to do that way on quiet back roads, no tree climbing and easy to find containers.
There is much to like about this series and its variety of hides as well as superb coordinates which meant quick finds at the rate of around 25 an hour. I added another 11 caches in the immediate area for good measure.
I cache replaced noting the dnf at #94 by 2ystassies. The cable tie was there but no cache so I replaced.
No wildlife of note spotted, just a few local farmers...
I have eaten 1 cray so far on the trip...more to come...
Many thanks to GeoVenture2020 for their great efforts over here

Back in SA, caching around the area with out base being Millicent.
It was 2 years ago on the March long weekend we were last over here. (That was pre covid/lockdown days.)
We had a great time, back then, and when we got home it was only 20days later Vic went into full covid lockdown mode.
The world has changed somewhat since then, but caching still gets us out n about.
And it is kind of fitting that we are back here for a planned interstate caching trip to get us both back into an area we enjoy (not ta mention I always enjoy the SA caches n trails)
This trip we are both armed with some new gear for the new trails. And i had a few caches targeted to help achieve some challenges and stats.
Once again it was a great little break from the norm of life back home.

Back in SA, caching around the area with out base being Millicent.
It was 2 years ago on the March long weekend we were last over here. (That was pre covid/lockdown days.)

We were able to solve all the Crayfish puzzles shortly after they were published but, despite intending to come to the Millicent Event but having to cancel because of COVID, we had to wait until this visit to South Australia to look for the caches. The day started overcast and that soon changed to rain, which was quite heavy at times. Despite the weather, we were able to find over 80 of the caches today, leaving the remainder until tomorrow.
Overall, accurate coordinates and the hints led to quick finds and unless stated otherwise, the cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks GeoVenture2020 for the Crayfish GeoArt - greatly appreciated.

Great couple days out with FlirtinWithDanger around Millicent.
Whether it was day or night, hot or cold, wet or dry, it was a great experience. The animals seen along the way we’re amazing.
TFTC’s GeoVenture2020 and the fantastic GeoArt Lobster as a result!
Any problems with the caches are mentioned in FlirtinWithDanger’s logs.

Cache found with DarthVader69 over three days whilst staying in Millicent with family.
Found and signed (logged with a personalised sticker, FlirtinWithDanger or FWD) caches in the sunlight, moonlight, with the headlights/cab lights on and a torchlight.
Animals we came across included stampeding but curious cows, unfriendly sheep, a photobombing bee, harlequin bugs, horses, a mob of bounding kangaroos and a flyer and joey, numerous birds and bugs and of all cache guardians... a dog!
Any problems encountered were solved and will be explained on individual caches.
Things to remember while caching here:
- put the cache lids back on properly and replace them the right way up!
- sometimes the hints give you a bum steer!
- if you have a geodog clean up after them especially around GZ!
- watch out for the trees and bushes that bite/poke/prick you, grass seeds/burrs that stick to your pants/socks/shoes like glue and the mosquitoes who find you tasty!
- expect to be kicking up dust, dirt and sand in the wind, rain and sunshine, both on and off road!
- if you come across Farmer Cruiser/Bob/Brown or anyone else who approaches to talk to you, tell them exactly what you are doing, be straight up. They appreciate honesty. This is what I did. The farmers take note of vehicles in the area and they communicate often. Apparently, there have been thefts in the area and are protective over their livestock and property, which is totally understandable!
- remember to hand sanitise often!
Thank you for the experience and the laughs along the way, the thirst, the hunger, the exhaustion, the deliriousness, the minor injuries, the wonderful animals, the beautiful bright stars and of course the caches. If it wasn't for those caches, none of this would have ever happened.
TFTC's GeoVenture2020 and this amazing geoart as a result. It is my first one I have ever completed. A lot of planning and effort has gone into putting this series together.

We have been allowed to travel to South Australia and our first stop was Bordertown then onto Millicent where we will spend a few days before heading towards Adelaide. Today we completed the Crayfish series and were very happy to have finished it and had time to find a few others. SL TFTC
With murmurings of more covid-19 community transmissions and the possible need for another lockdown in Queensland, I decided to high-tail it out of there and found myself in South Australia earlier than expected to attend the Mega Event in Millicent [^] After almost two weeks exploring Adelaide, the Barossa and Riverlands areas, I was finally in Millicent for the Mega Event to catch up with many friends and to make some new ones
I completed the majority of this series with Liz and Bruce, Brad and Janet, Wollaston and SeasonedBird, although some I completed on my own before heading back toward Adelaide and then flying to Perth to finally be able to visit my daughter and her family again
The cache was located easily enough and with my name added to the log book, I continued on my way Just be careful on the road between #078 and #079 as I found a toddler running down the middle of the road Apparently he is infatuated with the red reflectors on the side of the road and escapes from his home to go looking for them.
Thank you GeoVenture2020 for creating the cache and for maintaining it for everyone to enjoy

After attending the Farewell event for the Millicent mega and as I'm staying another night I, of course, had to go out and see what more I could find. Finished off the Crayfish series, including the one I'd previously DNF'd. Then started the GV2020 series and managed to find quite a few before tiredness and the drizzle convinced me it was time to pull stumps.
Thanks to all the GeoVenture2020 team for getting out this cache and series for us all to find.

Out with gridge98 for the millicent mega weekend, excellent trip away, thanks for hiding.
Day 1 of the Mega weekend. Stayed in Robe overnight and was raring to go. A new lab cache series in Beachport meant a detour there before starting the cray fish. The weather was nice to begin with but then turned Millicent with grey dreary drizzle. Did a multi in Rendlesham where I saw the Misfits drive out from the crayfish they had sone them all before I even started ????.
The long wet grass and grey day made for a hard slog on the crayfish. Had to keep wringing out my socks. Lunch was eaten by 9.30am oops. Had a break at real lunch time and went to mega central which was very quiet but managed to do the 30 labs in town and find a couple of local caches and rectify an 8 year dnf. Back to the crayfish and finally they were all done - yay! That was a long hard slog.
Saw lots of interesting wildlife birds and lots of young beasties. Thankfully no snakes in fact prefer grey dreariness to snakes.
Then headed home via a few more caches and a few dnf at Glencoe.
An excellent first day at the Mega. Back to the farm to eat pizza and drink beers.

Arranged to do this series with Astro and others. Time was set at 830. The logs where going to be signed as MISFITS. Turns out some of the crew changed there minds and started at 800, one other team ( For " some strange reason " not mentioned in someone else's rant ) even started at the opposite end of the trail then every one else. Different way to power trail. Some caches got found 4 times by the teams, others less times. The road was muddy in sections and it didn't rain for the time spend on this trail. I told to geo venture group at the last event and they just laughed and said " what you expect to happen at a mega ", " as long as you had fun ".
Saturday the official start of the 2021 Millicent Mega event. today was filled with a few caches before meeting others up for some power trailing then heading out in to the forests for some more caches. The weather today was filled with rain off and on but that didn't stop me and Mogni. I was glad we had the 4x4 instead of Mogni car for the trip.

Day two for the Millicent Mega and CPs main reason for coming out to Millicent was to complete the Lobster GeoArt.
CPwanderer, Gizmo's Gang, JJ52 & I planned to meet a few cars by this cache.
We found quite a few more cars on the way and then a collection of cars at an in prompt meeting area.
It was a nice day for drive and we spend most of the time driving.
There were so many cars out here that we found very little that hadn't been claimed.
Good to see so many smiling faces, as this is what Megas are about.

It has now got to the stage where we have over 750 draft logs waiting to be completed. These range back over at least a couple of years.
We are not a fan of generic logs but with everything that has been on our plates recently we reluctantly have to admit this may be the only way we can get this back log cleared. If your cache is in our backlog it usually means it is one that we wanted to spend more time creating a much more bespoke log than this. But we are not managing to achieve that goal. So in the interests of getting the backlog cleared we have decided to resort to this long form of TFTC as a way of getting a large number of them cleared.
We apologise for the lack of commentary specific to your cache or event. We are somewhat targeted in what we go after. There are unfounded caches within a few kilometres of our home which we published before we started 8 years ago. We have just never got around to o looking for them. We like unusual cache types, puzzles in particular, older caches, and tend to target a much more wider group of caches when we travel. We like remote caches and caches that bring us to an interesting place. It is likely that this cache found its way into our find list because it fits one of these criteria.
As cache owners we appreciate the effort that goes into hiding and maintains caches so thank you for that.

SA Mega weekend with sir_spectre, a huge weekend of catchups and hunting geocaches. At different times over the 5 day weekend we joined up with other teams caching as either the misfits or mystery randoms depending on the numbers of people and who organised.
Unfortunately the weather was very typical of the south east and put many teams off exporing the forests and some great creative caches were only found by a few teams.
For me this was a little bit different than for others as I lived in the south east for 15 years and worked in Penola, Millicent and Mount Gambier. Strangely this also meant I kept running into people I knew each day.
Lots of wildlife seen, wombats, echidnas, snakes, kangaroos and wallabies. Luckily the snakes in particular kept leaving the paths as we were walking.
Thanks to the Mega committee for all of their hardwork organising and the many locals who have placed and maintained caches (this includes me )
