Found with The Matetrix

Out on a beautiful Winter's day hike around the Cotter Dam with The Matetrix. Unfortunately the area has been cleared either side of the power lines, which takes in the GZ and surrounds ie. everything is under a tonne of fallen pine trees. CO advised. TFTC

Was with IamCoust when we discovered there was no longer a house here anymore

Found at 2:29:00 PM

This place was constructed by some unknown youths from the Uriarra Village how long ago I don't know. My son discovered it about 4 years ago and had grand plans to bring it back to a state of glory, but these never went anywhere. It's a shame that the impact of the weather and geocachers searching have degraded it further.

Thanks DARKSIDEDAN

An overcast but fine afternoon, so I hopped on the eMTB and went for an 11km ride around the backblocks of Uriarra and Mt McDonald finding caches I missed on my last trip out here a couple of years ago.

With the CO's permission I also checked on his caches and conducted maintenance where required.

An unusual structure here! No yowies today thank goodness. There is evidence of a very recent fire in the firepit, which is full of half-burnt rubbish including what looks to be elements of the original cache here. I had some spares with me and have replaced the entire cache container and log with a new one in the same hiding spot.

Thanks, DSD!

Cache logbook and cache container replaced by mountainsbeyond after the last cache was burnt in the fire by people unknown

Yep a most unusual structure. I managed to find a way through the blackberries and sign the cache. Decided not to linger to avoid the owners. TFTC.

Chooo ooo [Found] after a short bike ride. Cool location for GZ - always like it when there is something interesting or great views etc at GZ, so a favourite from me. Thanks DSD.

Well that was unexpected. Just under a 2km walk from the lock gate below this was a lovely afternoon walk before heading of home again. Quick and easy. TFTC DARKSIDEDAN.

Despite the threat of rain, I needed to get outdoors for some exercise. After a walk from Shepherd's lookout to the river and back, I drove a long way around to Urriarra, then wandered to this cache for some more exercise. Cache easily found. TFTC.

Surprising location!

With a lot of new caches early in the morning I didn't take too much notice of them as we were planning to head out to Ginini a little later in the morning. Even though we were driving right past this one we still were not that committed to stop with our days plans but a last minute decision had us parking as it wasn't that far.

Sure didn't expect to find that here! Noticed the hinges on the tree and even found the door a little distance away of the construction team. Its not what we had thought we would find and very pleased we stopped as we both enjoyed the discovery.

Thanks for the cache Darksidedan.

We saw all the cachesbeing published but already had plans and they were taking us out west, but I happened to notice this on e and that we were literally about to drive passed...so after a bit of umming and ahhing, we decided we may as well pick it up.

I was taken aback when I got to GZ! I was expecting a small plastic container under a pile of rocks next to a track. It had the small plastic container, but the rest of my expectations could not be more wrong. At GZ is an impressive structure that has clearly had an enormous amount of effort put into it, clearly a labour of love.

Don't miss the old front door nearby, well worth the minor detour.

Fave point for bringing me to this place Smile

**This Cache:**

Myself and DSD were out here doing some Noikmeister puzzles nearby. We were headed back to the car and decided to take a little shortcut! We took that shortcut at the perfect time and stumbled across this abandoned little "Yowie House" as DSD has called it!

If you pay very close attention to certain details, you can tell this has not been occupied for quite some time. You can see signs that there used to be even more things here, which have since been taken away. If you explore the immediate area there are also some other strange things nearby.....!

A favourite point from me too, loved this spot Big Grin

**Lockdown:**

DSD had plans to hide lots of new caches for people to enjoy once lockdown was lifted, and invited me along each time to help out. My primary task was joint coordinate taking for accuracy, radius checking and bookkeeping of specific cache details. DSD came prepared with maps of where he wanted to hide caches each day and plenty of containers and cache hiding expertise up his sleeve due to his sheer number of hides!

This cache was placed either before, during or after the ACT Lockdown. The hidden date might not be accurate as that is when the cache page was made up and designed by DSD. I have tried to log this cache on the day it was hidden however when I have that information recorded.
