Loved seeing something different, very creative, careful of cache holder edges were sharp!

Haha, very nice one! When doing the loop anti-clockwise, leave the path a bit earlier than you'd think and you can reach GZ quite easily. Small stream crossing at the end but no problems there. Great in-theme cache, tftc & fp!A little later in the day we even met the CO in person, at a random other location. Nice to see you Sidewaze!

Very cool! Still smiling thinking of it.Loved all the details about the name, decoration etc. I went anti clockwise and found the way in easier than the way out to GZ, I tried to bush bash back to the track quickly.

Nipped out this morning hitting these caches in the eves valley reserve that had been on my watch list since the start of the year. Im not too fond of wasps so had put these 4 caches off until winter. Beautiful morning out caching. All I can say is very well done, favourite point added. I will say no more. Found with aalis_01

I'm sure I must have walked right past this but then I got very afraid of the vibe and it just happened to be in the place I should have looked first. Had a hike ride then nice walk on a beautiful day. TFTC and a face from me

Decided to come to Eves Valley for a walk to finish the day. after doing the multi we wnet for a walk in the forest for this one. Probably took the long way round but did enjoy the adventure and the cache. Awesome. Left our calling card after shaking hands. Cheers. Fav from me. Its back to Zara for dinner now. After the event Jims Bro and I went to Rabbit Island but tracks closed due to fire risk so wandered around Appleby. Zara Toby and I are in Nelson for the weekend with the event and a road trip to Tapawera on the radar. Had an awesome weekend caching returning home early Monday.

I visited this spooky neck of the woods following advice that the cache was no longer as it was initially set up. It is now all set for new visitors in search for a slightly different experience. It's not quite the same as the original but hopefully you will still enjoy the experience. After signing the log, please replace as found.

Have found a cache in the vicinity before. Definitely took the right way in and had the most suitable foot wear for this. A good looking cache at the final. Not sure it is as the CO intended. Will have to have a chat to her at the event in a couple of days. Anyway log duly signed and replaced as found. Thanks for the cache.

This has been on our radar for a while and with a previous finder tagging along today we decided to make an attempt. As it turned out, we took a different, more direct route to the previous finder ( who got lost when he found it) and we soon came to an area with promise. Andy went up the bank with ease and I soon followed. Unfortunately the wrong footwear took Ron (Agazo) out when he attempted the climb and we ended up leaving him in the creek while we signed off the logsheet. Back to the creek and some direction finding tips to Aqazo as we made our quick way back to the main track and out to the car. An interesting cache and we might have to return for a second look when some minor repairs are made as Ron said there were some bits missing from when he was there. tftc

Not much planned for today.
We went hardware shopping for some supplies for some home maintenance at RG1972’s pad. That was successfully done, and so to kill some time I suggested we go have a look at this one. It’s local enough.
I have been out here before, but this cache was placed after I had a sweep through. It’s a nice walk.
But it’s a place RG had not been before, and I was intrigued by the cache description and it’s relatively high number of faves looked inviting. Into the car then and off we go.
RG brought her gum boots - a good call in the end. Not sure if we went the ‘right’ way, but we got there after walking up a stream and a bit of a scramble and saw something that stood out.
It took a while to take in the scene and work out what we needed to do. Not what I expected, RG worked it out before I did.
Log signed, (although I may have written 11/10 for some reason, not sure on that), and we completed the rest of the mini trail. We later checked if the forestry roads were open for running, as RG has been through these before. All signs point to that not being the case.
A great cache for us today. Good to have a look in here and see how that recent bad weather has changed things. Nicely done cache too. Doesn’t fulfill any major goals except I think it’s another box ticked off in the second loop of filling the D/T grid. A dozen or so to go.
FP of course, that is awesome!! TFTC Sidewaze.

I was interested in this one since I read the cache page when it was first published. I had thought we would look for it on a day when gk was available and one when we had plenty of time just incase it turned out to be a mission.

We passed the end of the valley a couple of times yesterday and I mentioned this one to gk. As we had no plans for today we decided to come and give it a go. Having read some of the previous logs we were not really sure about the difficulty of the terrain, so we wore our gumboots and wore old clothes just in case.

The gumboots were definitely an advantage as one of the bridges was nothing but a pile of logs on the bank. So we paddled through the water and soon made our way to gz. GK spotted something that required further investigation. Sure enough within moments he was passing me the log to sign.

What a great cache, one that most definitely gets a favourite from us. Thanks for the fun and for the smiley

Nicely put together cache, I'm sure I have found a cache close to here before. Followed the rough track off the main one to gz but then as I had gummys on followed the creek back out. Thanks for placing Sidewaze

My last visit prompted a CO visit and a repair the missing cx. I saw that a few cachers found it over the last few months, but I didn't come by until today.

I got to what I like to call "The Intersection" and then started towards GZ in the same way I recalled. This got me close, but a pesky stream got in the way. I didn't see a good way over, so I retraced back to The Intersection, and went along the other side of the stream.

This was much more difficult going, but I managed to fight my way to GZ. All the pieces where now right there, so I found the cx right away. I backtracked to The Intersection, with only a little loss of blood when I stepped on a log going uphill. The log gave way and sent me slipping downhill a bit taking a chunk out of my shin in the process.

From The Intersection, I blithely followed what the trail back to the entrance. Or so I thought. Somewhere along the way I unknowingly took a turn to the east. Thinking I was still hiking along the main path to the west, I followed for some time until it disappeared. I eventually turned toward the filtering sunlight, which I thought was the road. It turned out to be farmland.

There was a farmer working not too far away and he directed me back to Eves Valley Road. But in about 100m I came to a stream I didn't want to cross. My GPSr was pointing the other way (back to GZ of this cx), so I turned around. Coming back to the farmer, he told be I was heading to a forestry block. After a short conversation, he offered to take me on his tractor over the stream and out to the road.

I think this area should be renamed, "The Park of Disappearing Trails". TFTC.

Have been aiming to do this cache for a while. Got my gumboots on and away for the walk. Got to gz and then had to think what do I do now. Found on a nice drive up here.

Out and about finding a few caches this afternoon. It was just starting to drizzle as I left the car. Nice and dry in the forest though. A constant hum of wasps rather than bird song in the air. Not good. I found a good trail to gz and enjoyed seeing the CO’s creativity. Now where do I find a pesky log book to sign? That took me longer than it should have! I always have memories of the Beltfamily Tasman extreme series when I venture into these woods. I give the cache an F for Fun and a P for Placement = +FP
Thanks Sidewaze

Another gloriously warm autumn afternoon deserved a bush walk and a cache. This was perfect to manage both. The last 50 m to the cache were interesting. Happy to say it was a case of "AH HA" and not "BOO BOO" today. Thanks for the fun and TFTC, Biggles.

Not sure what happened here but the original setup has been compromised. I'm not sure the fixed up version is quite the same but I'd much rather it be enabled and findable than just bits of rubbish in the undergrowth.

There's a problem with this hide, I'll check it out when I am able.

Too long since we had a walk in this area so a cache was the final incentive. We smiled rather than said boo or even boo hoo. Boo hoo may have been the reaction if this was a DNF, but it wasn't. We didn't remember the 'track' we followed to the cache but thought that was because we had not been on it for 10 years. We did remember the area around GZ so went out the way we went in 10 years ago - which was a bit easier. Once close, the area to check was clear and we didn't even need a TOT - just a pen.
Thanks for the fun. We add another well deserved Favourite Point.

Brilliant! It was middle of the day and it was still scary! Completely different to all our 250 so far, expect for Isis's, 'Tis the Season' - which would take some beating anyway Smile
So thanks heaps for the effort you've gone to here, really good stuff and a favourite point for sure from us!

We just had to take advantage of the weather this morning. With a forecast of wet and windy and knowing how wet it can be in the reserve there was definately no better time than the present. Over time we have found a few caches here and it's always a pleasure to have an excuse to revisit the area. When it was time to go bush we couldn't find an obvious point of entry so worked our way up to 20m approx from GZ. The forest canopy didn't cooperate much with the GPS but got us close enough for the attributes to become relevant so the search was on. We noted something that could well be associated with the cache and it was. After the formalities we followed a faint path we thought we'd followed a long time ago looking for another cache. Our memory served us right and it didn't take long to get back to the car. This cache deserves a fav for setting the scene and one for the hide but alas I can award just the one. Thank you Sidewaze

The last few times we've been here there has been heaps of water lying about so we thought it prudent to attempt this cache before the forecast bad weather arrives.
I'm never afraid to get grubby when caching so was prepared for this to happen here when I noted the T difficulty and went dressed and shod accordingly for what looked like a bit of off track adventure.
With care I made it to GZ to find a very cleverly constructed cache. I wish I could give it more than one favourite point, it certainly deserves it.
Thank you Sidewaze for yet another imaginative experience.

It has to be said, "I ain't afraid of no ghost!" so off I went. I had a fair idea of what to expect here - well I thought I did but of course I was wrong! Very wrong. I enjoyed the walk to where I needed to head off track - there are some interesting bridges to cross now. The GPS lead me to somewhere close to something that would hide what I was expecting but of course there was nothing there. Stood and scanned 180 degrees - oh there it is! Excellent cache Sidewaze - one of those LOL moments and then repeat! Then I continued round the rest of the loop. Always a lovely walk. An easy favourite. TFTC # 17,743

I like Eves Valley. I find it very peaceful and tranquil and always enjoy a walk here.

So I was rather pleased when this cache was published as it gave me a good excuse to return.

Sunday - the day of publication - was not *that* day due to it all being a bit wet.

Monday came and went too. So, when I checked this morning and saw the FTF was still up for grabs, I decided that today was the day.

My approach brought back memories of making my way to a previous cache in this neck of the woods but I seem to recall a lower approach to that one. As I wandered I wondered how high above the stream I was; turned out I almost found out the quick way as I took a little slip and got a muddy backside for my troubles.

Picking up myself and my pride I more gingerly set off towards the GZ only 20ish metres away.

It was then I spied the GZ just as I was wondering what I needed to be looking for.

No spoilers here, but suffice to say that every now and then a cache comes along that will raise a wry smile and stick in the memory.

Thanks for the excellence here Spookwaze
