Found with goldielover today while doing the last day hike on the 3 Capes. Quite a number of steps for the sore knees. All good here with your cache. Tftc
Its Day 4 of our Three Capes adventure and after an early start we made our way up Mt Fortescue and around the coast towards Cape Hauy. It was pretty windy on the walk out so we had to be careful to not lose our hats! Great views along the way, found the cache without issue. Thanks for the cache gooseandeggFind #6248
Found on our last day of the Three Capes walk.cracking views from this spotThanks for the cache gooseandegg and for bringing us here today.
(Logging a month after the fact as I was too busy enjoying the views to remember to log immediately!) Had an awesome walk to Cape Hauy, around this area I loved looking down at the waves crashing against the cliffs below, slightly scary but also magic ) TFTC!
Epic winters day for a walk out to Cape Huay. We literally could not have hoped for a better day weather wise. We did worry that heading anti-clockwise around Tassie and getting to the Tasman Peninsula in winter was a foolish idea but so far we have had lucky weather. It had been a chilly start at Fortescue Bay and we started out wearing gloves and fleeces but as the day progressed our layers were shed. Spectacular views over the Southern Ocean and amazing coastline we had a brilliant day out. Out thanks to all the CO for placing caches and AL on our route to add an extra element of fun to our day.Another excellent view and nicely hidden cache. TFTC
For well over a year i have been wanting to do these Caches and this World-famous walking track to a Geological Wonder of Tasmania but just never got around to actually 'doing' it. Slack or just plain forgetful? it's one or the other so over the last month i waited for the perfect day weather-wise to not only do this awesome trail but to net me some Caches aswell.Today, Wednesday the 6th of March i parked up the GeoMobile in the Walking Trail car park and set off with all the needed gear for an 9km round trip... Water / Bandages / Food the whole bit and was hoping the phone reception would last.Well, so far amazingly the phone reception has been ok, it was a bit dodgy at the 2nd hide but once i got to the top of that hill back it came.Making sure there were no Muggles present upon making the find i thought was gonna be difficult as it was like Rundle Mall at times, oops, sorry...... Elizabeth Street Mall, my (Adelaide) SA roots are still present lol The cache was a quick find and sign at 11:28, on this perfect, sunny day with a light cool breeze [^]The cache and contents are in A1 condition.TFTC gooseandegg
Our NEW ZEALAND - TASMANIA - AUSTRALIA JOURNEY takes us to beautiful places and provides us with an incredible number of wonderful moments and experiences.Occasionally we also visit a few GeoCaches along the way.On the way back from Totempole we signed the guest book....Thank you for placing, maintaining and caring snapfish2 from SwitzerlandPS: Translated with the Deepl app
Spectacular views from up here and were nearly at the end. What a day! What a walk! Thank you for bringing us up here. A trip I will never forgetTFTC
After starting off at Fortescue Camping Ground car park we set off with three things in mind.1) Reaching Cape Hauy (a 2 hr hike)2) Grabbing all 5 caches along the way 3) Adding to our Strava stats Wow! The views out here are spectacular. Well worth the effort to get here. We were surprised home many others were out here walking to the end. Little kids, retirees, overseas visitors, all enjoying the views. Another cache quickly located. Nice hide TFTC
Auf dem Rckweg zum Beach/Camping geloggt. Richtig schne Wanderung mit leichtem Nieselregen... Tftc
Hello gooseandegg thank you for the cache
Walked past it on the way in and spent a bit of time searching for it on the way back.
Managed it before the muggles got too close.
I was surprised with how many people were walking the track.
Thank you for bringing me back out to this area.
It was a cool gloomy day to be caching but a bit of fun was had.

We had walked pass this one on our way back to the car park before realizing we missed it. So we climbed back up the hill in search of this one and I’m happy to say it was well worth the hike back up the hill. You were recently my FTF, gooseandegg, so I had to make sure I found one of your hides when in popped up on this track! TFTC and for the placement where there are gorgeous views.

We were nearly to the end and I seriously think the prospect of finding a geocache was keeping me going. Sorry for brief log, I will do more when I get home.
Thanks gooseandegg for contributing to our game by placing caches for us to enjoy

Hatched a plan with EeePees to take a walk out to Cape Huay a few weeks ago on a day the GeoGSP's were in doggy daycare. After one false start, today was the day we headed out, and as it turns out it was a cracker of a day weatherwise.
So far today we had probably seen between one and two hundred people on the track. Every time we stopped, more small groups would pass us, so it was nice to have a reason to stop, take photos, check out the view, soak up the sun and look for a cache. The view of Cape Pillar with the lighthouse on Tasman Island peeking up over the back, and the Blade at it's absolute sharpest angle, was stunning.
EeePees came up the goods with this one, and we were soon on our way to the end of the cape.

Aloha!
What a perfect day for my first ever walk out to Cape Hauy.
With the fine company of Lil Rafa we left the Fortescue Bay car park just after 10am.
Perfect views from here, and an excuse for some respite from the steps.
Took a minute to hone in on the right spot, then a quick find courtesy of a "telltale" hide - to a geocacher of course.
There are plenty of walkers on the track, heading in both directions.
A fav!
Thanks gooseandegg for the cache and the adventure - and of course for getting me here.
Cheers, EPs.

Sandyofthesea found this quickly on the way back out (and muggle free).
After watching an adventure film with climbers on the Totem Pole at the Banff Film Festival, this place was high on the list to visit.
We are so glad we did the 11km return walk but my aspirations of climbing this pinnacle vanished when I got to the first cliff view! It’s a long way down to the angry deep blue sea!!
gooseandegg, I found Cape Pillar View today. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.

Amazingly manicured track rewarded with stunning views. It’s 10km return. So good that I am now reading Paul Pritchard’s booked titled ‘ Totem Pole’. Morgo isn’t going to climb it now.
I found this one very quickly on the return trip.
Thanks

Thanks for the hint we did not have to search too long because there was much "Muggle-traffic" today, TFTC.

Nalezeno společně s Radoshordos během měsíčního výletu do Malajsie, Singapuru, Bruneje a Austrálie, kde byla hlavním cílem celého výletu Tasmánie. Singapore se zároveň stává mojí 39. navštívenou zemí a Austrálie mojí 40. navštívenou zemí.
Keš jsem našel během chvilky společně s Radoshordos. Děkuji za přivedení na další zajímavé místo a za další bod do sbírky.
Zdravím z České republiky.
Found it during a one-month trip together with Radoshordos to Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei and Australia, where Tasmania's was main destination of the whole vacation. Singapore is also becoming my 39th visited country and Australia my 40th visited country.
I found the cash in a moment with Radoshordos. Thank you for bringing me to another interesting place and for the next point to the collection. Greetings from the Czech Republic.

This Tassie trip has been a long time coming. I have booked and rebooked a number of times thanks to sick elderly parents and various covid border lockdowns.
My first week was spent sailing a gaff rigged open wooden boat from Recherche Bay to Hobart to join the Wooden Boat Festival. My family joined me at the Wooden Boat Festival and after a few days in Hobart, we headed to the Tasman Peninsular and the Three Capes hike. It has been just magnificent. The trail is easy walking, the huts are great and it is a pleasure not to have to hump a tent and cooking gear.
Today, sadly, is our last day on the trail. After slogging up Mt Fortescue, it was a very pleasant walk through the rain forest and along the clifftops to the junction where backpacks were ditched in favor of a daypack.
About two thousand stairs later, we are approaching Cape Hauy, but not before stopping to grab this cache along the way. Again, I managed to engineer a gap in the hoards of hikers and slipped from the track to grab this one quickly. Managed to scratch my legs on the undergrowth, despite taking care.
Another great location for a cache. Thanks goose and egg.

Absolutely stunning views along this walk, really hard not to stop and take photos at each opportunity! Initially looked in the wrong spot but I was determined to find this one. Tftc
What a great way to finish our 3 Capes Track adventure with a couple of caches in this fantastic area.

Found coming back from Hauy, nice little hide. Incredible location for a cache, and only a few thousand steps to go...
Fantastic views from up here and a nice quick find with the good clue. Hard to believe it was almost two years ago (as it feels so recent) since we walked out to Cape Pillar and went up the wedge, which you can see clearly from here (highly recommend by the way!). TFTC!

Found yesterday on the last day of our three capes hike. Highly enjoyed the journey and thankful to have visited Cape Hauy because it was definitely the highlight!! TFTC
Spectacular scenery! Thanks for the pencil as we did not carry one in with us. Great walk too. TFTC
Had a look on the way out without any luck. Wanted to get a wriggle on before the rain set in. Found on the way back easily though. Beautiful part of the world, thank you for placing this cache!, favourite point from me! : )
We walked the circuit from Fortescue Bay to Mt Fortescue and then out to Cape Hauy. We had perfect weather and spectacular views, as expected. Grabbed the cache on our return leg. Thank you.
A walk to do maintenance on a cache at Cape Hauy turned into game of step ups as the three of us walked out along the great but stair ridden track to Cape Hauy.
Of course we took advantage to hide a few caches along the way to make the walk a little more broken up.
Thank you for the cache goose
Favourite point given

Found on the last day of our Tasmania trip - glad we saved this walk till last, my legs were wrecked for the next 24-48hours!! So many stairs (~4500 according to google), but worth the view at the cape. TFTC!
Quick grab on our way to the summit, between muggles. Seemed to have arrived at a good time, as most were leaving and we'd passed them by the time we reached gz
First Time in Tasman Peninsula, and this is one of my favourite place in Tassie so far (haven't been everywhere yet though, but I fell in love with landscapes in here).
Cape Haut Walk was of course on my bucket list, I knew it was really beautiful, and it really was !
Found it with Kakù and our partners, had a good fun looking for it !
Thanks for the cache !

Came out for a very impromptu caching day with The Roadies today, in the hope of getting some FTF's on some newly listed caches in our local area. We have done this walk a few times over the years, mainly before the new Capes track was installed so we knew what we were in for - a hard, hard slog.
Unfortunately we were pipped at the post (by only a measly hour!) by membsec to the FTF's and knew we would probably pass them on the track, so started keeping an eye out for them amongst the myriad of walkers already heading back. Not having met them before, everyone we passed got a thorough looking at to see if they matched the geocaching photo!! Finally, just before we got to this cache, we spotted them and greeted them with a very friendly "You pipped us didn't you!" Was nice to meet some fellow cachers and put faces to the geocaching logs. While it was nice to stop and chat, we needed to push on up the hill and find the next cache. A quick find was made, with the logs stamped in joint second position! And yes, what truly magnificent views!

We made a quick decision to attempt this new series of caches after seeing that no one had done them by Tuesday morning. Rang tassietan early and she decided to come along.
We were excited to see that no-one had still logged them by the time we got to Fortescue, and headed off with great anticipation.
We got to "Cape Huay Walk" and saw that membsec had beaten us to the cache by an hour!
After having a team meeting we decided to continue on and complete the series, despite my serious misgivings about doing this torturous walk for the 4th time. (I had sworn never to do it again after the 3rd time!!)
As we struggled up the last hill we finally ran into the memsecs and had a nice chat (and enjoyed the excuse for a rest stop ) before pushing on about 3 metres to this cache .
Thanks for the cache gooseandegg. The views of Cape Pillar from here are excellent.

Saw these new caches come out in an area that we have thought about, many times, on doing the walk. We knew that it would be a bit of a challenge as we have done the walk on the opposite side to Dolomieu Point and that was up and down and it was a struggle for us! But today after waking early we decided to have a go at these new caches and the older caches too. We thoroughly enjoyed the views and the caches. Nice to break up our walk and have something to aim for! It was very quiet out here first thing this morning but by the time we reached Cape Hauy it was like “Bourke St” We sat and had a nice “lunch” break at Cape Hauy look out with quite a few other walkers mostly doing the 3 Cape walk.
We had a little break looking at an Earthcache, so found some energy to get to this cache. Male membsec had the cache in his hands before I had time to take off my pack. Once again it was nice to see a blank log book, apart from the “beta testers”.
**FTF**at 11:12, sorry for the delay in logging. It was great meeting Tassietan and TheRoadies on our way out. We had a brief talk and it was so nice to put faces to names. We did some of their very clever caches on the way home.
