After the huge day yesterday (200 caches) was hoping for a sleep in and then a few more caches before heading home. Didnt get the first but did get the second (another 51). Glorious weather again and some beautiful country traversed. As I pulled up a train was passing. Up I went and then a bit of back and forth and the cache was located. If I tripped on the way Fien would have aimed for the sofa! TFTC DARKSIDEDAN
TFTC, signed log as TT72. Travelling back to Sydney after visiting Rugby.Interesting spot, I like the art.
Full time Nomads, travelling around Australia since 2014. Staying a week or so in Yass, today we headed out mid morning. Fantastic weather today. We did alot of cache maintenance today, replacing broken containers, or replacing wet soggy logs. Also finding lids and making sure the logsheets were in the containers then ensuring the lid was on properly before moving on to the next cache. It is very hard for the CO to keep up with maintenance if nobody actually reports any. [B)]TFTC DARKSIDEDAN
We decided to stay another day in Yass and start on some of the trails in the outer lying roads. I am still kicking myself for not bring the ladder, again on today's run three caches not able to be attempted.Total Caches Found 15920TFTC DARKSIDEDAN

Exciting times over the next couple of weeks as we takeoff for the Capital GeoBash in Canberra! Its going to be a flood of Sandgropers over east, with a host of West Aussies making the trek east for the event. Im travelling with fellow Cockburn Crew members Leg5 and Barnzy12, starting in Sydney and hitting the road to Canberra, before returning back to Sydney. Honourary mention to our fellow member, Cravo10, who couldnt make it after recently introducing a new geocacher to the world the week prior. Once in Canberra, the agenda is set, well team up with a host of Western Australians to conquer caches. Collectively, were hoping to make it the biggest ever weekend for cache finding. Following the event, the journey continues back to Sydney, with a mission to clean up caches and new Local Government Areas (LGAs), ensuring no cache is left unturned in this epic geocaching adventure. Something tells me that well need a holiday after this, well, holiday. We have commenced our raid on Yass. All logs have been signed as WA to save space, abbreviation for our team of cachers from Western Australia, who are cleaning up the series together. Cheers DARKSIDEDAN! Join us in Augusta, in Western Australias South West, for WA Goes Big 2024 (GCAGV8Y) on Friday 20 to Sunday 22 September. Log your will attend now!

The Cockburn Crew are on tour at the Capital Geobash in Canberra - travelling from Perth to Sydney, Canberra, Sydney and finally back to Perth.Today was day 3 and we had an absolute blast, after an earlier night last night we got up early to head to Yass and the surrounding areas to cleanup a bunch of caches inparticular whereigos and our personal favourite the challenge caches. We stopped in Yass and completed some high quality caches before venturing back to the trails. We completed a huge number of trails, challenges, whereigos, traditional, multis, earthcaches, labs, virtuals and puzzles. It really was a great day for variety. We enjoyed caching in territory we havent been before. Weve filled our boots with some rare DTs and DTTs and generally had a great time. Thanks to the COs for a great day and event. Logs signed as part of team WA/WAC (WA Crew)
A big plan was hatched in WA to spend today hitting Yass and surrounds. Living off not much sleep the teams from WA met at 5.30am with very big plans for the day. We found your cache today 18 March 2024 1:07pm , while enjoying another day in our beautiful countryside. TFTC DARKSIDEDAN
After spending the night in Bowning while on my way to QOGM in Longreach I made an early start for a day's caching. I made this find at 08:32 this morning.
I was out and about and came across this cache to find, today. I’m slowly finding the caches, east from home. At the moment, I’m mostly focusing on the caches between Binalong and the ACT border. Finding this cache certainly has certainly helped with this mission. As I am catching up with my logging, I’m not exactly sure how long it took to find or remember what type of cache it was but I certainly enjoyed finding it all the same. Also, I have back dated this log to the day I found it. When I signed the cache, **it was either signed as JM or JohnoMawbs**. This was due to the size or amount of space on the logsheet/book. TB visit. I would like to thank the CO of this cache for placing it and for allowing it to bring the Geocaching community enjoyment. TFTC!
Spent some time caching in the area.
Signed and replaced as found.
Many thanks for placing this cache, DARKSIDEDAN,

Found with a team consisting of, McLookers, Maccamob, Team Crackers, micaparamedic, pprass and Moonb1, We signed the caches as Vic1 to save space. Today was an even better day and we again found almost all caches. Many logs were damp though.
Travelling with maccamob, pprass, micaparamedic, mcLookers, Muzza, Alansee and Moonb1 to try our luck at some of the many challenges and other interesting series around the area.
We really enjoyed the information on the cache pages. Many of these snakes we have never heard of before.
Happily we only read about them and did not encounter any during our searches.
To save room in the log book we signed as Vic1.
Apologies for the generic log but doing so many with lots of chatting and laughing makes it hard to remember them individually.
Many thanks DARKSIDEDAN for the hides a great informative cache pages

With FFLL#2 heading off for a hike today, FFLL#1 and I decided to go get some challenges and some cruiser stuff. We wanted a nice easy day today with the expected heat so we chose a couple small trails to do and just took our time wandering the back roads. We had a good day today, unfortunately a lot of the caches we found today are in desperate need of CO attention as heaps were complete mush and covered in black mould. We had a successful day all in all, we did replace one cache with the CO's permission after an extensive search resulted in no find and there were prior DNF's. We also placed a few temp small logs until the CO can replace the containers and logs.
This one was missing for sure, so reached out the CO and asked if they wanted a new cache placed. A new sistema with new log has been placed at GZ for the next finders.
Thanks for the fun day out FFLL#1, love the mini adventures we go on and thanks to the CO's for the cache placements for us to find.

Hatched a plan with Rapidlywild to head out to north Yass to attack a couple of trails while the other half of our team was hiking up some crazy hills. We took today slow and steady and found all caches we attempted except for one but with the Co's permission we replaced this one for them. There were a lot of wet and soggy logs on our journey which could probably do with some TLC as the plastic containers used don't seem to be water tight. Small replacement logs in bags were placed in containers where the old log book was just too wet and mouldy to sign.
After heading into Yass for something to eat we decided to continue our journey as the heat that we thought was meant to come had turned into a cloud over. So back on the trails and we had a successful afternoon of caching to match the morning run.
Replaced this one for the Co.
Thanks for the hide DARKSIDEDAN and thanks for a fun day out in the country side Rapidlywild.

Given the personal use drug equipment I found in what I thought was the cache I quickly decided to pass on this one.
Day 3 of my trip with CybergranV to Yass.
After the deluge...
Ridiculous stupid amounts of rain fell yesterday afternoon and evening. We left this morning to tackle the challenge caches north of the Hume with rather a lot of trepidation.
After turning off the Lachlan Valley Hwy we struck washed out roads, water had rushed across the landscape. Remarkably we had only 1 dnf at a creek crossing so a total of 66 caches this morning through here.
First caches were 5 trads in guard rails along the road, most welcome to find these
Good coords, clues and a nice spot to get off the road here
Thanks DSD

If you could call a snake beautiful this type certainly is.
What makes it more attractive is that they are relatively harmless.
However the further away from feathertop and I that the snakes stay, the happier we will be.
Thanks for this snake free cache container Darksidedan

Day out in Yass and surrounds. Cloudy and cool afternoon. Signed and replaced. Tftc.
Lucky last before we journey home. Traffic is getting really heavy, and either cannot park, or people were at the next gz's. It 16:00 anyway, so time to battle the Sydney traffic. Thanks for all the caches. Its been a good weekend.
Another day in Yass, but with no rain predicted and little wind. Turned out to be a good day for caching with even a few bursts of sun.
We decided to again head out of town on a loop. We learned about Snakes of the World, Turtles of the World, Lizards of the World and even a few flags. This was mixed with a number of Challenge caches and trad or two that we past.
There were a few high ts we managed to get and also a few that were beyond our TOTT!
It was all capped off with a mega multi!
A big day, but quite successful.
Great to meet up with Sui along the way, a prolific and very creative hider.
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache DARKSIDEDAN.

A bit of a scramble up the bank to GZ and after a quick search the cache was spotted. Checked the hiding spot for any of the cache's name sakes before reaching in to make the grab. Signed the log in situ and then replaced it ready for the next finders.
Thanks for the continuation of these series DSD......starting to get to know this area very well.

Today started with a walk along Molonglo Gorge to some of the upstream caches with Fitzy_1965, MinnieK & Isopeda. There is a great trail to follow, but it is far above some of the caches. There were two caches to get as we headed out along the descent track back to the main gate. After this walk, I packed up my car for a two day drive out to Griffiths and back. Tonight I ended up just North of Narrandera in a stock Reserve. It is interesting to see how it has dried up out west, but with huge amount of growth in the old growth areas.
Thanks for the cache DARKSIDEDAN

Making the most of enjoying what's left of a short lived summer and rapidly diminishing daylight saving to make some finds. Many have been on my solved pile for some time and with prolonged work commitments due to COVID I've just not had the spare time to do much caching at all as I've been working crazy hours for months.
Today was the day I said 'enough', I need a break. I need to get off my butt, away from the computer and get some fresh air and exercise. I contacted my caching buddy to see if they were free and so a long and full day of caching was planned. Just had to make the most of it, hail rain or shine.
Straightforward find here today with Marmaduke Rothschild out the back of Yass and beyond.
And so it goes, just happy to pick up caches such as this one. Thanks to DARKSIDEDAN for putting out and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment!

Some caches around the Yass area was the target and this one was picked up along with ilook4geo. There was no problem in finding it in the obvious place and we were happy to add our names to the log before putting everything back as found. Thanks for this cache placement go to DARKSIDEDAN. There are so many snakes to be found and avoided!
We are staying in the area for a few days with goingplaces2 and are looking for a selection of caches to keep us going. This was one of the caches we found. All good here. TFTC.
Out with GreyHams for a little north of Yass caching for the day. With the new caches out the previous day and this trail looking almost complete it made for a decent trip out into the area. Add in the possibility for a FTF or two and it made for a good day out. Tankengine also had the same plan but got away a little earlier than us. We met up for the last few new caches and continued on for a few others in the area together before Tank headed home and we set of for the leisurely loop we had in mind. Thanks for your cache!
We weren't sure where to go today, but a bunch of new caches up north had us thinking, 'why not'. Of course Tankengine had other ideas and set off earlier than us so he got the nearly all of the FTF's for himself. After the FTF run we settled back into relaxed mode just cruising along getting all the not stupidly high 'death is imminent if you make a mistake' caches.

After a nice sleep in on a public holiday, fitzy_1965, Death_Killer and I headed out to Yass for a bit of caching.
We met up with Mighty Minions and Sui along the way and had lots of fun picking up the newer caches as well as some of the challenge caches that have been out for a while.
All caches were found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned.

26,829. Found with minniek today during an Australia Day Public Holiday run around north of Yass.
Without access to kayaks we actually had no caching plans for today, until we heard that Mighty Minions were going to be cherry-picking caches around Yass today. We quickly hatched a plan to visit this area that's been on our radar for a while, with minniek after the Challenges while we both wanted the new Snake/Lizard caches. Four Letterbox Hybrids sweetened the pie.
A nice sleep-in then we were on the road. This was the next cache on our list. Quick find at GZ once we climbed up there ! Signed or stamped the log, replaced the cache as found, then we headed off to the next one.
Thanks DSD !! Glad we didn't encounter the cache's namesake here even if this one is harmless !
