Found with goldielover today while on the last day of the three Capes hike. We have had perfect weather and really enjoyed the hike. All good here with your cache.Tftc
Its Day 4 of our Three Capes adventure and after an early start we made our way up Mt Fortescue and around the coast towards Cape Hauy. We dropped our big packs at the junction and headed off to conquer the few thousand steps that lay ahead. This cache provided a nice opportunity take a break on the stairs, I darted off into the bush and made a quick find. Thanks for the cache stainless-steel-ratFind #6246
Day 4 of the Three Capes Track and some spectacular views.just like the one here. Dropped TB. Thanks for placing the cache stainless-steel-rat.
TFTC!! Amazing walk along the three capes, weather has been stunning. Great cache and fun find
(Logging a month after the fact as I was too busy enjoying the views to remember to log immediately!) The title doesn't lie, the weather also treated us well on our Cape Hauy walk ) TFTC!
Epic winters day for a walk out to Cape Huay. We literally could not have hoped for a better day weather wise. We did worry that heading anti-clockwise around Tassie and getting to the Tasman Peninsula in winter was a foolish idea but so far we have had lucky weather. It had been a chilly start at Fortescue Bay and we started out wearing gloves and fleeces but as the day progressed our layers were shed. Spectacular views over the Southern Ocean and amazing coastline we had a brilliant day out. Out thanks to all the CO for placing caches and AL on our route to add an extra element of fun to our day.Once I got past all the loo paper , it was a nice quick find safely tucked away. You are not wrong about the views! TFTC
For well over a year i have been wanting to do these Caches and this World-famous walking track to a Geological Wonder of Tasmania but just never got around to actually 'doing' it. Slack or just plain forgetful? it's one or the other so over the last month i waited for the perfect day weather-wise to not only do this awesome trail but to net me some Caches aswell. This Premier Coastal Walk so far is amazing and that was truly realized when i arrived just above this hide where the trees give way to this incredible view of the cape ahead. I feel i will have to earn this as there is much "Up and Down" to get to the Totem Pole. This area is spoiling my eyes bigtime already but i feel it wants it's pound of flesh ha ha. So an energy bar was downed whilst i just sat myself down on a slab of rock for about 10 minutes as i didn't wanna rush this moment.Break over, i was down to the hide, which was found after exhausting a few options to find the rock i needed to find, then it was Cache in hand immediately. I crouched down to SL as there were many Muggles on this track today, given the weather was near on perfect and not windy either.SL at 10:56 on Wednesday 6 March 2024. A nice size this container with perfectly dry contents inside.Made sure the coast was clear on the re-hide and i was out onto the track again without being seen emerging from the bushes ha ha TFTC SSR
Our NEW ZEALAND - TASMANIA - AUSTRALIA JOURNEY takes us to beautiful places and provides us with an incredible number of wonderful moments and experiences.Occasionally we also visit a few GeoCaches along the way.On the way back from Totempole we signed the guest book....Thank you for placing, maintaining and caring snapfish2 from SwitzerlandPS: Translated with the Deepl app
Ouch! Had a good little tumble looking for this one, even smashed my phone screen. Never mind it was worth it!TFTC
After starting off at Fortescue Camping Ground car park we set off with three things in mind.1) Reaching Cape Hauy (a 2 hr hike)2) Grabbing all 5 caches along the way 3) Adding to our Strava stats It was a long, arduous walk between caches 2 and 3 along this trail, lots of ups and downs! After letting the gps settle the cache was eventually located. Nice hide TFTC
A beautiful view for the end of the three capes hike. TFTC! (Found with the plebian Iaminis and signed as TT2)
I thought I had already logged this one. I've walked out here a couple of times. The views are spectacular and it's not a bad workout. SSR did well to find this great hiding place and be able to hide a decent size container here.I'm hoping my next cape will be Cape Raoul. Thanks stainless-steel-rat
Hello stainless-steel-rat thank you for the cache
No problems finding this one.
I was suprised with how many people were walking the track.
Thank you for bringing me back out to this area.
It was a cool gloomy day to be caching but a bit of fun was had.

As the name suggest, the view was beautiful. Took a minute to find this one, while pretending to grab a snack out of my pack while muggles passed by. TFTc and thank you for a cache with very exciting swag
We were nearly to the end and I seriously think the prospect of finding a geocache was keeping me going. Sorry for brief log, I will do more when I get home.

Today EeePees and I were tackling the walk to Cape Hauy, It was a gorgeous sunny day, and there were a lot of other people on the track - including a Year 9 school group!
Since completing the walk, I've googled "how many steps on the walk to Cape Hauy?". Although there is nothing official on the Parks and wildlife website, there are a number of bushwalking forum sites that quote there being over 3000 of those manicured steps. The particular pitch where this cache is located is 1000 steps all by itself.
I've done this cache at least three times - the most recent about 10 years ago - the steps were definitely in place for that last trip and I knew the walk out would hurt - but it is still worth it for the amazing coastal scenery in this part of Tassie. Before the steps, it was a more traditional walking track - which in steep locations like this, do result in a lot of erosion - hence the steps
Great spot to stop and take photos here, and find a geocache. This one was located by EeePees whilst I waited for my GPSr to turn on (as we were now out of phone range).

What a perfect day for my first ever walk out to Cape Hauy.
With the fine company of Lil Rafa we left the Fortescue Bay car park just after 10am.
We'd leapfrogged the school group back at the junction, but they are now ahead again - thankfully.
There are still plenty of walkers on the track, heading in both directions - probably wondering what I was doing in the bush.
A good hide, with magic views.
A fav!
Thanks stainless-steel-rat for the cache and the adventure - and of course for getting me here.
Cheers, EPs.

Amazingly manicured track rewarded with stunning views. It’s 10km return. So good that I am now reading Paul Pritchard’s booked titled ‘ Totem Pole’. Morgo isn’t going to climb it now.
Thanks
Thanks
After watching an adventure film with climbers on the Totem Pole at the Banff Film Festival, this place was high on the list to visit.
We are so glad we did the 11km return walk but my aspirations of climbing this pinnacle vanished when I got to the first cliff view! It’s a long way down to the angry deep blue sea!!
Cache found with no issues after a detour off the track
stainless-steel-rat, I found Cape Hauy Walk - Stunning Views today. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.

Nalezeno společně s Radoshordos během měsíčního výletu do Malajsie, Singapuru, Bruneje a Austrálie, kde byla hlavním cílem celého výletu Tasmánie. Singapore se zároveň stává mojí 39. navštívenou zemí a Austrálie mojí 40. navštívenou zemí.
Keš jsem našel během chvilky společně s Radoshordos. Děkuji za přivedení na další zajímavé místo a za další bod do sbírky.
Zdravím z České republiky.
Found it during a one-month trip together with Radoshordos to Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei and Australia, where Tasmania's was main destination of the whole vacation. Singapore is also becoming my 39th visited country and Australia my 40th visited country.
I found the cash in a moment with Radoshordos. Thank you for bringing me to another interesting place and for the next point to the collection. Greetings from the Czech Republic.

This trip has been a long time coming. I have booked and rebooked a number of times thanks to sick elderly parents and various covid border lockdowns.
Finally, the planned holiday in Tassie is happening. My first week was spent sailing a gaff rigged open wooden boat from Recherche Bay to Hobart to join the Wooden Boat Festival. My family joined me at the Wooden Boat Festival and after a few days in Hobart, we headed to the Tasman Peninsular and Three Capes. It has been just magnificent. The trail is easy walking, the huts are great and it is a pleasure not to have to hump a tent and cooking gear.
Today, sadly, is our last day on the trail. After slogging up Mt Fortescue, it was a very pleasant walk through the rain forest and along the clifftops to the junction where backpacks were ditched in favor of a daypack.
Heading down the stairs nearby, Cape Hauy came into view. I managed to engineer a gap in the hikers and slipped from the track to grab this one.
What a magnificent part of the world. Thanks stainless steel rat

What a lovely day to walk the last stage of the Three Capes Track - and then even a cache to find. Thank you so much for placing it here. And OMG how many stairs lead to this cape and back? After this day I could not see stairs for a few days anymore. ??
Couldn’t help myself and had to grab one more cache on the way back! Some pretty cool swapables, unfortunately I had nothing to trade. Tftc
On our way back we popped off the track to find this one. A spectacular walk and also great to find caches of this size. Tftc!
What a great way to finish our 3 Capes Track adventure with a couple of caches in this fantastic area.

Another cache we sadly didn’t have enough time to search for. Had a quick look around but ultimately didn’t find it as we had to finish the track and the path was busy with muggles. Would love to go back and try again someday!
As with another cache here, found on the way back! Stunning views on this cool Tassie day! Thanks for the cache! : )
A walk out to Cape Hauy with good company. The walk was like a step master at times, but when it was flat it was a lovely walk. Views were something else. Beautiful in all directions

Stunning views indeed! Took a little bit of searching but found it eventually. Gets a fav point.
Found on the last day of our Tasmania trip - glad we saved this walk till last, my legs were wrecked for the next 24-48hours!! So many stairs (~4500 according to google), but worth the view at the cape. TFTC!
First Time in Tasman Peninsula, and this is one of my favourite place in Tassie so far (haven't been everywhere yet though, but I fell in love with landscapes in here).
Cape Haut Walk was of course on my bucket list, I knew it was really beautiful, and it really was !
Found it with Kakù and our partners, had a good fun looking for it !
Thanks for the cache !

The Roadies rang early to see if I wanted to do the Cape Hauy walk and get some newly listed caches ... I was already walking and it would take me at least an hour to get to their place, but what the heck! Decided I'd do it as, having done the Cape Hauy track many times, I probably wouldn't do it again without some very good motivation ..., well, a day out with The Roadies and getting some caches seemed a good enough reason.
We actually walked past this cache on the way to the Cape (and there was no way we were going back up the track for it, even if it was only 30 metres!) so we got it on the way back. RoadieM bashed around in the bushes a bit and made the find of a nicely sized container (and after doing the Weilangta series, a trademark SSR container). TFTC.

Having made a quick decision to come and look for this new series of caches and hopefully nab the FTFs, we set off early from home with tassietan only to find that membsec had beaten us to them by an hour! Good on them, they certainly were the early birds!
We had a team meeting and decided to continue on to complete this new series (quite reluctantly on my part...I had decided on the third walk out here that it was going to be the last, and now I was agreeing to the 4th...what was I thinking???)
We were so engrossed in the stunning views that we missed this cache on the way downhill, and there was no way we were unnecessarily going back up hill to get it before we needed to, so left it for the return journey.
We were focussed on the GPS so we didn't miss it and by following some broken twigs (feeling quite like the tracker) we had the cache in hand and signed.
Thanks for the cache stainless-steel-rat.

Saw these new caches come out in an area that we have thought about, many times, on doing the walk. We knew that it would be a bit of a challenge as we have done the walk on the opposite side to Dolomieu Point and that was up and down and it was a struggle for us! But today after waking early we decided to have a go at these new caches and the older caches too. We thoroughly enjoyed the views and the caches. Nice to break up our walk and have something to aim for! It was very quiet out here first thing this morning but by the time we reached Cape Hauy it was like “Bourke St” We sat and had a nice “lunch” break at Cape Hauy look out with quite a few other walkers mostly doing the 3 Cape walk.
My thoughts going to this cache was “what goes down means we must go back up on our return”, and we could see the track further along which looked challenging. It took awhile locating this cache, but eventually we worked out the entrance and surprised to see such a good size container. So relieved to see a blank log book and therefore happy to put our name in first, apart from the “beta” testers. Thanks for your effort in placing caches for our enjoyment.
**FTF** @10:34, sorry for the slow logging. Met Tassietan and TheRoadies on the way out and after “abusing us”, we sorted everything out! Nice chatting to them and putting faces to their names. On the way home we did some of their very clever caches!
