First cache of the day, on my wander from Hornsby to Thornleigh. The last piece of the puzzle I needed. Typical find at gz. Tftc.
Completed a Cache Maintenance check today.I have replaced the log and checked th QR code. Cache and QR code are all good. Cache on. . . . .
Out caching with techsavvy9 and 2pods today and stopped for this cache, a nice quick find at GZ. Thanks for the cache Rama497 tnln replaced as found sl
Enjoying the company of Techsavvy9 and Mighty Minions for the day away, and pleased to add another of the treasure hunts to our bag ... we are getting there slowly! TFTC!
TFTC and a nice quick find on an amazing day out with Mighty Minions and 2Pods. Its been a long time since I travelled this road.
Found on the way back (sort of) from dropping my car off for a service. Couldn’t get the QR code to work, nevertheless TFTC
Found today after not finding it previously.
We took nothing and left nothing.

We were coming down to Berowra today for some kayaking, and figured a good kayaking trip was a fine way to ring up a milestone, so diverted further down into Sydney to pre-position ourself for our 7000th find on the water.
We were on a schedule, so stopped for some roadside hides on our way up to Berowra.
Bugger - I just noted the part about scanning for the clue.... we haven't been doing that!

Today is the day of our 7000th find, hopefully. We’re grabbing whatever we can solve and find around Turramurra/Hornsby before meeting Mighty Minions, barefootjeff and GeoIan down at Berowra Waters for some kayaking!
Quick find here, bag is a bit tattered but all dry.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache Rama497!

After 3 DNF's I went and completed a cache check.
The cache is where it should be and it is in good condition.
The area around the location has had a clean up, I guess by council/

Found the general location just fine, but didn't fancy thoroughly inspecting a guard rail around a major road. Might come back on a later day to try my luck again
On a chilly morning walk I dropped by this familiar location for a quick find. Very quiet being the King's Birthday holiday. Didn't have pencil so scratched my mark with a stick and scanned the QR code. Thanks!
I probably drive past here 5 times a week. Always heading to and from places. I knew there was a cache close by but thought it was at the top of the hill. Today I saw some familiar faces so did a u turn and went back and signed it. Tftc
Found with Shaneo58, doing some around the Normanhurst Areas, Getting away from Lake Macquarie come down by train, on this fine winter day. Found quickly. .
Signed log and Cache replaced as found.

Been meaning to stop and pick this one up for a while. I’ll need to check how many more I need to get . TFTC.
Searched for a few minutes and gave up. There was quite a bit of traffic. Did not find.
Had a look around the side without plants, no luck and not willing to investigate near the spiders
First cache of this series which I'll try to complete in the next couple of weeks. Let's see where it brings me around Hornsby.

Out caching with oldmorty finding caches from the TGHTH series.
This was the first cache found for the day.
Quite a scary approach, having to cross a very busy road and skirt around the guardrail.
Did not find the cache on first search.
Oldmorty came to join me, which frightened the Begeebers out of me.
But he came up trumps.
We signed the log and, making sure no cars were in sight, crossed back across the road.
It was then I realised we needed to scan the QRcode. So, back to the cache.
Thanks to Rama497 for placing the cache.

Taking advantage of the break in the weather we continued our drive around the area and collected some traditionals for a challenge cache. With the cache in hand, we signed the log then replaced everything as found. Cache container and contents are in good condition. Thanks for the cache Rama497.

OCW frazeydaze who was after a cache to help her qualify for an "Old School NSW Challenge" cache. To appease my caching appetite frasey agreed to add some more caches to the days activities ie the TGHTH Series. All caches in this series were quickly found thanks to the generous hints. Thanks Rama497 for the series.
Today I headed out to Dural for the Amateur Radio NSW (HAM Radio) bi-monthly Trash & Treasure sale at the Quarry Road HQ site (VK2WI) then, after a fun filled morning of HAM radio junk scrounging and lots of friendly chit chat, I headed off to find some caches on my homeward journey. Took a drive along Kenthurst Road to collect some of the Kenthurst Geotrail series, then stopped off for a few Traditional caches at Normanhurst & Wahroonga. This was the 11th of 12 finds for the day.
This was my next cache stop, and it was a nice quick find on arrival at GZ. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found. This is the first of the "The Great Hornsby Treasure Hunt" series for us, and looking forward to doing some more of the TGHTH caches in the series. TFTC Rama497.

Another busy spot traffic wise. Had to park across the road for this one so we didn't get bogged. Still nearly lost some shoes in the mud accessing the cache.
Thanks for the Cache!

Challenging access today.
Managed to avoid being squished though and found this one.

We'd driven by so many times, we had to stop and pick it up this time. Thanks Rama497.
We parked in the cul-de-sac and idled up the alleyway to grab this one. Scanned the QR code too. Good one, thanks Rama497.
Today I have swapped the cache out with a new one.
The QR code has been replaced with a better covering.
Now all ready for the next Treasurer Hunter.

The parking here is very dodgy needing a drive up the road, U-turn and park only just off the road. After a dash over the road I retrieved the cache and logged, but the QR was too faint to scan. Thanks for the hide, can't wait to finish the series when it is all back.
Well that was pretty awful.
On the positive side
- found a cache for today, just this one but that's all I needed
- found really cheap petrol (well cheap by today's standards) not far from GZ
- stole a pencil from the cache - didn't mean to but I still had it in my hand when I got back to the geomobile ..... and I wasn't going back in that rain. I'll use it wisely!
- had my shower for today
- my shoes were nicely washed in the escapade
- liked the history about Hornsby on the cache page
- saw a ranging river just near GZ (I've walked geodog here and there was barely a trickle that day
On the negative side
- I was on the Central Coast and there was heavy rain all the way back on the M1
- there'd been an accident on the M1 and the traffic was thick and verrry slow
- it was torrential rain by the time I reached Hornsby
- there's no safe parking near GZ, not a PnG
- had to walk from the geomobile to GZ in the torrential rain as it wasn't giving up
- the code would NOT scan, too wet, too dark, QR damaged - who knows???
OK I shall just put it all down to a day's geocaching. Guess I should be used to the rain by now!!

Continuing my ill-conceived clockwise loop around the series, I again found myself on the wrong side of the road for parking and had to continue on to Woodbine Avenue where I was able to leave my car and return on foot to GZ. At first I thought it was going to be a similar situation to Asquith but upon reading the hint I realised I had to look somewhere else. This time it was both a quick find and a successful QR scan, although there was a bit of moisture inside the container. I dried it off with my shirt as best I could before returning it.
Many thanks for the hide and the series, now on to Galston via West Pennant Hills as Galston Gorge is apparently closed.

Companions: None
Muggles: A few passing by
Weather: Grey autumn afternoon
Cache condition: Good
I tried to find this cache after school drop-off, but it was just too busy, so decided to visit on a Sunday instead. I parked in The Cul-de-sac and wandered up, with a light drizzle keeping me company. Once at GZ I completed the formalities (9 down!), before crossy-roading back to my car. TFTC

OF course there are some electricity workers right where you want to park, Oh well, a short walk back to GZ. Found in the 2nd place I looked and scanned the QR code.
Last one of the series completed. Now for the Final.
Last one of the series completed. Now for the Final.
Found last week in a brief period of light rain between downpours.
I parked at the end of the cul de sac and walked down the wet path to the cache. The stream was roaring with all the water coming down it.
The cache didnt take long to locate and i was soon making my way back to the car before i got too wet.
Thanks.

Heading north to Maitland to attend the GCNSW Hunter Expedition over the weekend. I targeted this new series of The Great Hornsby Treasure Hunt.
All were found easily, though the crazy weather meant I got soaked sometimes or stayed dry. I grabbed the QR codes, the Treasure Codes and saved the details for the bonus. Once I was out on the Pacific Hwy the drive through the rural suburbs was pleasant despite the occasional downpour.
This was my first stop, and of course the heavens opened just as I pulled up. TFTC

Not so sunny today, but headed forth, erm north for a brace of finds. Unfortunately one of my targets had gone AWOL, so that left me with no options on a wet day - ie avoid bush baches.
No problems at either location.
HUZZAH!
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
Arrived here and parked at the safe, traffic free location 140 metres away - in the nearby cul-de-sac. Walked down the path to Malsbury Road - and waited 45 seconds for a safe gap to cross the road.
One obvious GZ, but of course it wasn't where I checked first. When I did get there it was CIH!
Completed signing duties, replaced and another wait to recross the road. So glad I didn't try parking on it - would likely have lost the driver's door!
Of course grabbed the info for the final.

The first of the TFHTH series as I was just passing by on my way to Hornsby. I need to plan a drive to visit the nine other caches as soon as petrol prices have come down a bit.

After collecting the northern caches in this series, I retired to Maccas to escape the deluge. I ventured out again after midnight to collect the remainder as I was on a mission to finish this off. Parking here is somewhat tricky but I managed to slip out and back quickly to avoid any issues.

This was the last one I needed in order to determine GZ for the Mystery cache. Thankfully, the road was fairly quiet this afternoon so I could cross safely. I took a guess as to which end to search first and my instrinct was correct. As I had the CO with me (no help was given ) a guessing game ensued as to where I though GZ would be. I punched the code word string into Certitude and immediately got a green light. OK, there you are. Needless to say, I was totally wrong with my guesses of GZ. Time to put this series to bed!

FTF at 1102. Working from home does have it's advantages and this was the closest. Luckily most of my client support is Asia so with the time difference generally not much happens before lunchtime. Parked over the road and a nice quick find, then off for another couple of local ones. Thanks Rama497, will pick up more of the series in coming days.
