Out hunting with Redcb today, we parked in the car park and set off to locate the cache. Reading the web page gave us the info we needed to get to GZ and, once there, we made a quick find. Thanks for another of your remarkable hides, Mister Doctor.

After walking through the shopping centre and getting absolutely confused, we read up on some of the comments and figured out it had to be outside. We found the right area but it still took us a while to find it! The cache was well hidden.

26-Apr-24
Went back today after realising there was a clue which made all the difference (Note: you need your own pen)

25-Apr-24
Had a good look with the kids but couldn't find it. May not be looking hard enough...

18-Apr-24
And here it is. Our last day of our spring break, before a long eight weeks of teaching without a break. We made sure to enjoy this day as much as we could; our last lovely day of exploring this giant island, as we woke up near Melbourne, knowing we would sleep back home in dozens of hours after three flights. And so without further interruptions we headed back up north to see a bit more of the country for a brief trip to Whittlesea, not only so we could visit at least one WhereIGo while in Australia. And Im happy we did; as that was our seventh cache type in this country (which will surely help with a challenge were working on). After the find and a lovely walk in the town, we got back into Melbourne and decided that with the little time we had left, we should try to go for a quick game of either mini golf, or an escape room. We didnt find an open escape room for the time we had, but we did find online that this location should have mini golf. After a 40 minute drive, we parked and headed to our game of mini golf, only to find out that the location was closed! Oh how unfortunate! At least as a token for the journey, I opened the map and spotted that theres a stash on the roof. I located the stash quickly with help from the past finders photos, and got it out quickly. Though it had just started raining, I inked in our nick at 5:34pm, making this our 7189th overall find. Thank you Mister Doctor, for placing and maintaining your ?? Happy Hunting stash; we were glad to visit it and spice up our Thursday while down under in ????Australia for our spring break, visiting from slightly-distant ????Myanmar! We snapped a photo and returned the stash as we found it, and appreciate the opportunity for a find and visiting another new location. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log. For my own personal statistics; this is the one hundred & eleventh of 112 geocaches we visited down under while on spring break, excluding the 56 adventure lab caches we visited and 28 Waymarks visited.

25-Nov-23
I hadn't planned on doing this cache as it was getting late after a very long walk in the area grabbing caches. But, I was here after all and what's one more cache. After an excruciating wait for a muggle to leave at the 'park and grab cache' across the road from the shopping centre I gave up waiting them out after 25 min and headed over here. I had an idea of where GZ might be but had to contend again with muggles who kept interrupting my search. I almost got caught a couple of times retrieving and returning this bold hide. Enjoyed the stealth mode practice as I have been doing a lot of non-urban bush-bashing caches in the past month.

Taking a walk around the area just because, I spotted this cache on the map and became intrigued. I figured out easily enough what level it would be, but still wasn't sure if I would find it. While it did take a bit of searching, all of a sudden it fell into view. A sneaky and neatly executed hide. TFTC Smile

We seem to find ourselves in this general area for all sorts of engagements and appointments. Today was another of those so we took the opportunity to make this find whilst we were here. Thanks for placing the cache for us to find.

22-Jul-23
Once again, we are over this way, I think today was shopping. Nevertheless, it was the perfect opportunity to look for and find this cache. Thank you for the placement of this cache.

18-Jul-23
Cache of the day, grabbed after popping into to see son number 2 in Box Hill. What a miserable day it was today….would have much rathered spent it wrapped up in my toasty bed…but stuff to do, people to see. Was indulged by above mentioned son and his gf to make this find on our way in to the shops heading to one of their local haunts. Thanks Mister Doctor.

Find #13993

I have been up here many times and never thought to check for the presence of a cache. A bold hide. Very nice. Heaps of birds flying in a massive swarm.

Massive thanks go to Mister Doctor for placing this one.

Finally found it!

After familiarising myself with multiple levels of Forest Hill, I finally applied some common sense and zeroed in on the appropriate location last night. Failing to find it, I returned today and looked directly at the cache without seeing it several times! Eventually, took a step back and noticed what others have noticed.

TFTC. Took a TB, left a TB.

Out on a caching spree with Haz101, found it nice and quickly finally ticking one off her list that she has been struggling to find

This is now the third time in succession, that I have approached a regular cache with a TB in hand, only to fail to find it. Beginning to think that this TB does not want to be set free! I will return tomorrow in the daylight.

That’s a nice one

15-Apr-23
I remember “Forry”, as I was later educated that it should be referred to locally - for in time it became my regular haunt.
I played in the rocket when I was knee high to a grasshopper.
I saw my first film here - Alby Manger’s World Safari
I even explored through the farm just down Mahoney Road.

And I had even been here a year ago.
Right here, at GZ. I found the cache, smiled and put it back without signing - for such is my want sometimes, lol.
Just doing some recon for when I might need a handy drive-by on a rainy night.

And that night was tonight.

Heymissjo and I had been enjoying a lovely Valentines in the city…
Yes, I know Valentines isn’t in April!
And yes, the city wasn’t exactly near ‘Forry’!! But she needed a cache for an ‘Ides’ challenge. And who am I to deny my Love on Valentines?!

Not me! And no amount of muggles coming out the staff door in the dark of night, in the pouring rain, were going to deter this loitering shadowy figure. So in due course an unexpectedly sizeable prize was delivered to my Love’s (dry) waiting hands.
Happy Valentines, my Love!

Thanks Mister Doctor
We always appreciate how much research you put into caches. And this was a delight.

A perfect night
Immersed in an era gone by
Memories of lives passed
Captured with such precision
The smallest details
Crockery, house hold trinkets
Spindles and thread
Newspapers that haven’t seen daylight
But rather hidden for three scores

Tonight was like stepping back
Love letters from the grave
A library of gold and hidden nuggets
An enchanted garden pavilion
Overgrown by ivy
Amongst the lingering music
Haunting, cobwebs, dust

An experience to be treasured
A moment in TIME
An artistic expression that draws you in
Entices your senses
And makes you wonder what was

Needless to say, an experience of time
Of travel and reflection
Deserves a celebratory cache.
Thanks Mister Doctor for indulging me

My childhood local shopping centre. Super excited to see it has a geocache! Lots of muggles around though. Great hiding spot!

Had not really considered the concept of height when following gps coords before. This multi level site bought it to the forefront when I had to work out which level I needed to be on, Having worked that out, was homing in on location when a young man popped out to have his smoko. Seemed an opportune time to visit the chicken shop in the Centre to get the necks my dogs love me to dehydrate for them. On return smoko was over and all clear to search. Located the cleverly hidden cache in a few minutes. TFTC

Found it!! Yay!! I found it at last! I had dropped Mum home after a delicious Christmas lunch prepared by Muggle Wen and thought today of all days, GZ would be deserted giving me the opportunity to find the cache. Well it wasn’t completely deserted but it wasn’t overflowing with Muggles as per usual. Amazing how many people were going to the movies! After checking all the nooks and crannies and coming up with nothing but cobwebs, my brain caught site of something out of place and there it was!! Fabulously bold cache! We grew up in Blackburn, so Forest Hills was our closet shopping center. I remember playing on the rocket and helping Mum with grocery shopping at Harry Heath’s. Those were the days! TFTC SL Merry Christmas!! ??

I would say it’s a bit harder than 1.5 but good cache nonetheless.

25-Nov-22
Always so many Muggles!! Argh!

15-Nov-22
We had stopped here for a snack and thought we should wander up a few levels to hunt for this one.
Once we got round the corner the keen-eyed member of the squad spotted it tucked in there.
Thanks Mister Doctor for giving us this extra piece of entertainment.
Chiefton!!!

Memories of visits to Forest Hill when we were kids, hopping on the bus at Glen Waverley and going to Forest Hill to the Movies. I recall the rocket.. it was very cool back in the day…haven’t things changed! It took longer to find the cache than I anticipated… so many distractions.. Once I got to the correct carpark it was a quick find, nicely hidden away. Thanks Mister Doctor for adding another game piece to our geocaching adventure

05-Oct-22
As one of the remaining "close to work" caches, it was time to finally tick this one off the list.
Forest Hills Shopping Centre...
Where as a young child, I spent countless hours with my brother playing in/on the famous rocket.
Where in my early teens, I bought a ginger tabby kitten from a petshop, and took him home, telling my father I'd found him in a box in a paddock. Tiger was an awesome cat!
Where in my late teens, I spent many, many hours driving around and around the carpark donning L plates in my father's Mini.
My how it's changed!

Thanks for bringing me here today by placing this cache, Mister Doctor

Took a little time to find the right car park, but managed to get a very good park near by. Saw a group with their phones out looking around but as it looked like a family we left them be, and took a small break in the shopping centre. The last 10 minutes of a very exciting afl game was on, that had turned around earlier! (We stopped listening as it wasn’t good news). After the excitement downed and the game was finished, coast was clear to look for this cache.

Wasn’t the easiest as we had done a few loops. But being more methodical and understanding the cache size always helps!

Found the cache in a rather obvious spot.

We found this cache today on our Ringwood to Blackburn Lake Rail Run. We came in here for lunch and HA stayed in out of the rain whilst I did the lone run. As the rain increased after the find, this brought a premature end to our caching day and we headed for home. Thanks from D & HA B-A

Surprise! The Pi Approximation event went into overtime. But we eventually got on the road for more shenanigans.

And when riding shotgun with n0w0rries, you never know where you'll cache next.

Take, for instance, an, er, interesting part of a shopping centre.

We found parking close by, and waited for the sparks nearby to literally stop flying before the coast was clear. The search began, and we narrowed the possible hiding spots to a few key locations, both having that "it can only be there" moment at around the same time.

Very clever, Mister Doctor

The cache was retrieved and we retreated to sort some swag (and sign the log, of course). Getting it back in place, on the other hand... it seems our timing coincided perfectly with the end of a session at the nearby entertainment establishment. Which, though it meant we blended in with the other lurkers in cars, also meant a bit of a wait to avoid prying eyes.

Bit I got it back in place.

Found after Pi event.
Let the shenanigans continue...
I rather doubt we could have chosen a busier time than 10 pm on a Friday night!
Ah well, it just adds to the enjoyment of the game. Muggle dodging!
The initial sweep returned less than favourable results but following a more detailed reading of the cache page, the treasure was quickly revealed.
Replacement however... now that's another story all together.

*Took: Nothing
Left Nothing
TB Swap*

Thanks for the bold hide Mister Doctor.
Great job!

After a fortnightly catch-up with my bowelling partner, 2upoj fired up and told me that this was only 120 m away even though I'd never noticed it before. SurprisedRed Face Despite the near freezing conditions , I figured that I'd have a shot at it.

It had me going for a few moments but there could only be very few places to hide a regular sized cache and sure enough, I finally spotted the hide using the phone torch at 11:45. Now, back to the nice, warm car. Wink

TNLNSL, although a couple of our geocoins had a visit to mark the occasion. Thanks Mister Doctor.

*Cache find # 13072.*

While out and about finding a few caches, I noticed this one on the map so I stopped for a look around.
I was now on my way home but with a slight detour I ended up at this one.
After parking the car I then made my way to where I guessed it would be zig zagging my way there, once I was there it wasn't too long before the cache was found.

**Thanks to Mister Doctor for placing this cache.**
