After necessarily braving the Christmas crowds at Chermside Shopping Centre, I rewarded myself with a few caches and some gentle exercise around West End. The aim was to clean up a few straggling caches in the area since my last visit. On the way past, I stopped to grab this one and the nearby Petrie mansions cache, which both annoy me every time I drive past.I missed this one on my first loop, but uncovered the well buried container next time round. Many thanks, AlisnanPete#8.155
A quiet leafy spot in a busy car thoroughfare. Cache had a ants nest making its home inside. Might need gloves
I am down under for the very first time. Visiting Australia has always been a dream of mine, and I cannot believe it has come true. Australia's nature and wildlife really captivated me. Over three weeks, I saw many wonderful beaches, sunsets, animals such as , and I found great geocaches. My tour guide was mostly geocaching, and through it, I discovered many beautiful places I wouldnt have seen without our great hobby. I mainly stayed in Brisbane but also visited other gorgeous places such as Noosa Heads and Springbrook. I spent a few days on the Gold Coast and Moreton Island, and I went to New South Wales to have visited a second state in Australia. During my stay, the winter and early spring in Queensland were very warm, the sun shone every single day, and I did not see a single drop of rain. My time down under was so beautiful and unforgettable. Australia is such a stunning country! Two days ago, I arrived in Brisbane and today I explored the city for the second time. I really like this city and I discovered beautiful places. I also looked for many geocaches like this one. At GZ I found the cache easily. After signing the log I put the container back as found. Thank you for this geocache and hi to the CO says Mr. J. Cacher from the other side of the world
After a day at home on Sunday, thinking it was going to be a wet one and it was a public holiday in my local area today, I decided to go out caching regardless of the weather.I decided to hit the Mt Coot-Tha Bontanic Gardens first and the local cemetery. With those two areas done, I have now moved onto Caxton street before making my home.I found your cache, Hardgrave Park today. This is my 3255 find.Alisnan, TFTC, TFTH & TFTSF
That was well covered. A few muggles around at lunch time, but none any where in view of GZ.
Its such a pleasure to come across parks like this in the middle of the city. A little bit on the noisy side but a very attractive spot. Cache found safe and dry.TFTC
We decided that we would walk over from our previous cache find at Petrie Terrace Mansions as it was a beautiful day. This park is one I havent explored before - a lovely green space between all the roads. Squeals from nearby trains moving about accompanied us as we used the hint to narrow down our search area. It didnt take long before the cache was in hand. We stopped to look at the interesting rock nearby, expecting to find a plaque but it seems its just a feature piece. Thanks Alisnan
Should have been an easy fins but took us far longer than it should have! Just mind the ants. TFTC.
This was the second stop on my second "Milton Cleanup". After a bit of looking here and there, it was a relatively quick find thanks to the log photos. TFTC.
Ich habe doch tatschlich einen Stift vergessen: sorry ! Hoffentlich stt mein Fotolog auf Verstndnis. Vielen Dankgoogle-translate:I actually forgot a pen: sorry! Hopefully my photologist will be understanding. Thank you
Semi retirement now allows me to do early morning Event through the week so today's super early start took me to Tardy Mouse Coffee with Hatzofff and RoddyC. Quite a crowd attended today then it was off to find some caches while on the Northside of Brisbane. This took a short search before we eventually found it. Log signed before replacing as found.TFTC
We had an early mousy coffee event over northside, so an opportunity to organise some unfound caches.Easy parking today. Good weather even though we brought our umbrellas.Log signed and cache replaced as found at 1:07 PM on December 14, 2023. TFTC, alisnan
Early start this morning to attend the event with the tardy mice. Now for some caching. Not as quick as we would have liked to be. TFTCache alisnan
Walk in the park. Nobody taking notice of the shonky bloke sniffing around holding his phone...
It is 1:30am and I am out geocaching as I drive past for work. A very quick stop and go for me this morning. At least I do not have any problems with muggles at this time of the morning. The cache is dry and in good condition. Thanks for cache.
In Brisbane for work so up and about early it was time for a wander to nab a few caches before the breakfast event. Easy find here. Thanks for the cache.
A bonus while walking to the Art Gallery from Red Hill. Has a fright to find a spider on the hide when I moved to the bench to sign the log! TFTC
Found, log book full.
Coords orrery much spot on.
Please be mindful and aware of syringes at GZ
And suggest if you are moving leaf matter to do so with a stick and not your hands.

only a couple spots left on the log now, i’ve found 3 or 4 caches that look like this now and i love them!! thanks:)
After stopping in at Scout cafe across from the park I figured I’d check out the nearby caches. This was a quick find for me, as I have met this kind of cache before…thanks for the fun and the history lesson.
We were in the city for Magic Round and after a few too many drinks we thought we’d attempt some caching. Who knew caching would be so fun while you’re semi drunk, if you haven’t done it, we’d recommend it.
After passing the nearby piss wall and avoiding all the muggles with their bits out we arrived at GZ and had a poke around. After several loops around the tree we uncovered the cache and popped our name on the log.
Thanks for bringing us here.

alisnan I found your cache Hardgrave Park on 30/4/2023, 3:45 pm. This is my find 5151 and find # 11 today. A quick and easy find with the help of the hint. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN
A nice place to visit after the rain has cleared on a mid-week early afternoon.
Got really lucky at GZ. Picked the right leaf-clogged crevice first go and came up with the cache in hand.
TFTC!

Seems some hanky panky going on this park. Found a short distance from the discarded pink condom. All good here.
A lovely Sunday afternoon spent in the general area collecting caches and completing ALs, my trusty geopup happy to be out and about.
Cache was quickly found, log signed and all replaced as found.
Thanks alisnan for the cache.

After a nice NYE meal we headed out for some geocaching. No writing tools on our fancy dresses unfortunately

Walking around the Roma Station and parklands, finding all the caches in the area. Quick find here, signed and returned. Lovely neat park today. TFTC
Hubby scrummaged around while people sat nearby oblivious to him. Nice find. TFTC
Beautiful Sunday morning to be out in the city.
Thanks to the hint it was a quick find.
Just me and a man and his guitar in the park this morning.

Dropped my daughter at her first rehearsal at the Brisbane Arts Theatre today. She has been going to watch shows at this theatre for years and is so excited to finally be performing up on stage. Dropped by for a quick find in the park. TFTC!
Out on a solo run today. I could have parked closer to this one but it was a pleasant walk in the cool breeze. At GZ I wandered around a bit before zeroing in. Despite its double camo the log was damp, but still usable. TFTC, alisnan.
It’s certainly easy to see how this cache can be obscured. But this park has long deserved a cache so it is worth a bit off effort. An elegant hide.
Left a pathtag.
Thanks for the cache.

Managed to make a pretty quick find. Out for some night time caching to keep the streak alive.
After 2 DNF’s I checked on the cache. The council workers had kindly buried it so after some excavation work the cache can now be found.
This park has long deserved a cache.
Joyfully went to find it and fully expected the syringes and other nasty things that come with the territory.
So, having come equipped was surprised/ delighted/ frustrated not to find.
Always like a hunt and will go back.
Thank you.

I wanted to get some more steps up, so parked near Paddington Kindy (where my kids went many years ago) and walked across the Hale St bridge (my first time) and up through Petrie Tce (many years since my last visit). As I arrived at gz, a woman came along and sat on one of the benches but luckily on the opposite side to gz. A quick find, signed the slightly damp logsheet and headed back. Tftc
This morning I awoke early and decided the make the most of my time before work. I’ve been targeting the finding of a hindered or more caches per month this year and as I’m heading away and not sure how many I’ll find in the first few days of our trip I had another nine caches to find before con on Saturday. Found this one quiet quickly. Six more to go.
Was digging around the leaves and found a syringe and a bong. For personal safety reasons, this one can be a DNF.
I’m in town for magic round and thought we’d do some caching in between games.
An early start to our Sunday morning, we managed a few finds before the footy.

On uber-duty tonight - so with a couple hours to kill in the area figured time to knock off a few more of these newer caches in this area. Lost track of the number of visits to this park I've made over the years - a popular place for new caches it seems. A good quick find (I liked the hint) and a good cache. Hope it survives the test of time.
Thanks alisnan for entertaining me at this location.

Not 100% sure what the clue meant, thought maybe compass bearing? I’m any case some of the clues were what helped. TTFC!
Really happy to find a group of new caches in the Paddington/ Petrie Terrace area! I decided for Good Friday I’d try for 6. This was the sixth cache and in Petrie Terrace. I had to wait about 5 minutes while a group of parents with their kids packed up and departed, but then I had the place to myself. Took a minute to find- great camo! Thanks Alisnan for setting up these new caches
This one had Mrs Riddell going for a while, until she spotted the obvious!
A great little hide! Really good spot for this traditional little sneaky one… used well. The unknowing would have a hard time picking it!
TFTC
However, a word of caution, I would definitely not come here at night… there is an overload of evidence of drug behaviour in the vicinity of GZ.

This is the third cache which has been hidden in this park over the years. I found the previous ones in 2011 and 2015. I had picked a Sunday to check it out so that I didn't have any problems with traffic or parking. I parked close and strolled down the path and checked out the feature boulder before heading to the search area for a quick find.

Working from home does have some advantages, especially when I see some new caches come out.
I headed over to make a find on two new caches and thought while I was in the area I should grab this one. A nice little walk up the hill from the parking area to find a very nice sitting area. A look around and too many options to look for without a hint. As I was checking the hint, which did not really help me much, I started in the obvious spots first and sure enough there it was, oh so now the hint make sense I think lol.
Thanks for the hide and with the log signed, I replaced the cache as found and continued on my way home. All good with this one.

This afternoon, as I was cycling home during my Friday afternoon, I thought I would detour past a couple of geocaches within the Petrie Terrace area. I perhaps didn't time my visit as the area was busier than usual with muggles due to the Suncorp Stadium rugby game that was being played nearby.
During one of my first visits to Brisbane as a university student, I stayed at one of the backpackers overlooking this park. We used a path adjoining the barracks to walk into the CBD, but I don't ever recall visiting the centre of Hardgrave Park, nor have I stopped here in my many years living in Brisbane. The boulder centrepiece of this park was interesting, although it was odd to not see a plaque or something of interest to why this boulder was centred as much; perhaps it was just so the council could save money in not needing to remove it?
Unlike the nearby stadium streets, this park was quiet, and so I had the place to myself to search for this geocache. After a couple of loops, I soon spotted the familiar cache type, and the cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks alisnan for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Some students from the University thought it would be a great lark to close all the gates under the bridges yesterday and residents are waking up to the Ankh oozing across their floors.
Peppa told me that I should save close to home caches for a rainy day. I figured today qualified. CaptainVimes offered to come on the short drive with me and we made a quick find. The container was completely submerged but the log is dry. I left it in a less waterlogged spot. Thanks for the cache
A rare afternoon out with Blkthunder… we had planned to bring the puppies, but the heat put a stop to that…
We found a great park, we actually had a choice of many… it was a quick walk down to GZ where the familiar container was soon in hand…

After work i decided to take a short ride here to find this cache. I like being taken to nice little parks and this one is a nice bit of greenery in amongst the busy roads. I soon spotted the apt cache and admired the big rock nearby. Thanks for taking me here and for placing this cache here for us to enjoy
I arrived to find picnickers galore. Unusual place for a picnic, I thought, until I realised there’s not a lot of green space for nearby residents. I also remember a cache around here in 2012 or thereabouts.
Anyway, I wandered down to the rock and immediately noticed a wallet and face mask left on the bench.
Proceeding to the Gz, I found the cache without drama. Going back to the bench, I explored the wallet (clearly owned by a child with a bit of cash inside) and managed to track down a phone number with a bit of detective work. Mum was very happy to hear Junior’s wallet was coming home!
Always good to do a good deed on a Sunday and TFTC where all is fine.

{FTF} jointly with greatjustgreat. Full log to follow
Friday evening and two have gone out, so for some reason had a look at recently published caches. There were two a few suburbs away. Checked with Greatjustgreat whether he was keen for a first find and he was. Sitting on Caxton Street in the Friday night traffic was excruciating, we were eager to find a park on Petrie Terrace. Moved on due to clearway, but managed a park within 300m.
Made our way to GZ, and about 20m out i thought we had been beaten to the log. There was someone circling the large rock with a phone in hand. On approach we realised it was a runner warming down listening to music. Phew. A10 minute sit on the bench was required awaiting Rocky's departure and then the hunt began. Didn't take long to find the well labelled cache. The clean log book was signed and Greatjustgreat grabbed the trackable (thanks for that inclusion). All back safe and sound.
Thanks for the end of week excitement alisnan. Cheers
