Only managed to solve about half of these before setting out for our walk. Grabbed what we can. Learnt a lot about cycling throughout. Mulga Bill's Bicycle is one of my favourite poems to read to residents. That and The Man From Ironbark. TFTC
Found with tassie expat who did the puzzle solving. Thanks, found on a beautiful blue skies day
Out and about with Mrs Wackyweedo getting some steps up to warm us up on this very windy and chilly winters day. After a few kms into our walk, some layers came off! We enjoyed solving these long before the mega but just hadnt managed to find enough time to tackle them until a late night plan was hatched to do them today. What a great variety of hides and containers along this whole trail. We saw 5 bike riders and 2 walkers the entire way. We nearly had one DNF, but lucky for us, persistence paid off! Thanks BB for your ongoing maintenance and keeping this trail in great shape! Cheers! Some friendly.maybe.security guard blue heelers had some interest in as as we passed but they didnt bark, just watched. Lemon tree nearby was full but was over the fence. Bugger!
Chasing smilies for the current souvenir challenge. MrsHaveanez & I had a small window between commitments today to grab as many finds as possible. This trail was on both our to-do list & we managed to find them all in the time we had... just! The arctic breeze set our pace ! Soo many lemons going to waste. Tftc BettyBoo3747
It seemed a good day for a ride along the rail trail at Rutherglen to complete a maintenance run on the BBBT caches that I have recently adopted. Robmc and I enjoyed the ride along the quiet trail today. I replaced a lot of pencils, some plastic bags and containers but nearly all the logs were left as found today as they were in good condition with plenty of space for names. Overall, the series was in good condition and having been checked and refreshed, the containers are now good and ready to be found.
Nice quick find on the way back to Rutherglen. The question is- will there be enough light to collect all of the solved puzzles?Height was a bit of an advantage when retrieving this one!!
Full time Nomads, travelling around Australia since 2014. Wending our way towards Canberra for the Mega. Orignally we planned a whole week here to collect the most smilies we could but alas plans had to be changed and now we are in a rush. Today we tackled the Brolga Bill's Bike Trail from Wahgunyah to Rutherglen and return. Not too hot, but a very strong head wind on the way to Rutherglen and not much of a tail wind on the return. [B)] Lovely rail trail, nice rest and water spots. Great cache trail.Of course there was the obligatory stop at Parkers Pies for lunch. TFTC Wiser than Owls
Mrs poolpool had done the hard yards with Mr Google, researching and solving the series...Been in the solved pile for quite awhile now, so on a quiet Sunday afternoon, and needing to increase our step count, we decided to start the walk and search, bit cooler today making for pleasant geocaching conditions, all caches in top condition, and not 1 muggle spotted on our travels, TFTC Wiser than Owls
Thanks for the cache, so good that they are all different so you never know what youre looking for
Found with LittleBoss2 after our game of golf. A great series, thanks again Wizer than Owls

Found with catnap777.
We didn't bring the pushies with us, but that didn't stop us from walking some of the rail trail picking up 11 of these beauties along the way.
I'm eying off that tandem bike on hire from the Information Centre in Rutherglen for our next visit.
Along with our list of 32 multis, cat' and I had included in our cache packed weekend all the Beginners Challenges, and the rest of the BBPs that we had solved since our last visit to the region. We also tidied up a few adventure labs and even snuck out onto the Rail Trail to pick up some of our solved BBBTs as well.
And there is still plenty to do in Rutherglen.

Puzzle solved and cache found with dalerious .
What an awesome series of puzzles. We have been chipping away at solving these, and we are very happy to say that we got all but 5 of them solved with minimal or no help .
Thank you Wiser than Owls for the effort of placing out and maintaining this series.
Looking forward to a trip to Rutherglen and district for the weekend meant that I was up before the alarm went off. 2am was a little too early, so I laid in the darkness for another 15min. I couldn't stay in bed any longer, eager to head out and enjoy the beautiful weather that was forecast for the day/weekend .
I potted around preparing our kit that needed to put into the vehicle, and slowly and quietly getting myself ready, whilst my partner was still in slumber.
I woke dalerious up with his first coffee for the day, and then we were off .
We got to the first cache of the day, just as dawn was breaking, and it was a corker. The region was looking her best with the recent continual rains. Driving through here again brought on a pang of sadness, as I realised for the first time since I left the region, that I missed it here.
This weekend, like most of our weekends turned out to be very rewarding .
We had 1 dnf out of over 100 caches found. We qualified for a couple of Challenge caches we have been working on, and enjoyed the variety of caches we chose to do whilst here.

Out collecting a number of caches in the Rutherglen area, aiming to collect the solstice souvenir. Unfortunately due to work and other commitments I wasn’t able to collect these during the Mega.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache. Due to the water in the area I have moved the cache slightly.

In the area with AnyMules, brisal5 and 6Hinemoa2 signing all logs as BAB6 to save space in the log books or their personal stamp. This may be the ageing Bushfires last Mega as the effects of advancing MND continues to advance but as I said that after the Whittlesea Mega, we will see.
I must thank my three mates and lots of other folk for all the help that I have received over the last year or so for which I will always be very grateful. This cache was found on our travels around this great area while attending the Mega Event in Rutherglen early April 2023.
I am slowly logging these caches but I don't know if I will finish only time will tell.
You never know what life has in store for you so you must expect the unexpected.
Thanks to Wiser than Owls for placing this cache.

We decided to have a quiet holiday in Rutherglen. Perhaps some touring, cycling and wine tasting. Yes, relaxing and wine tasting.
Hang on! Dan doesn't drink any more. "Sue, what are we gonna do?" "We could go caching." "Are there many caches here?" "Yes, heaps."
Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeessssssssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a great track to cycle along. Thank you Wiser than Owls
There was a dog barking at us as we approached GZ. Dan got so involved with barking back at it, that he nearly missed the cache and quickly stopped nearly causing Sue to rear end him.

This morning we were out to finish the wherigo series and the BBBT run as well, together with ilook4geo. It was a good morning after the rain cleared up and all caches were found in good order. Thanks for all these caches go to Wiser than Owls.
Sharing today's outing and finding with goingplaces2. Had a good day and enjoyed the caches on offer. Logs were signed and all containers were replaced as found. TFTC.
Decided to finish this line of Brolga Bill caches that I'd begun a while ago. Needed to fill in a couple of blanks in my finds by found date grid but also taking advantage of the great weather made for a nice day out.
Thanks indeed
Thanks indeed
Missed the mega, by that much. Finally a nice warm sunny day!!! Many thanks to all everyone (local and far away) who put together a great crop of caches.
After missing out on this one the previous day, I took a stroll down the path by foot and found the cache. It was pretty miserable this morning and I was pretty soaked by the time I got back to the car. It was the last day for me at the Rutherglen today, so I was happy to get this one before we left. Thanks Wiser than Owls for the series, its been a great series to solve and find.
What can I say? This series was fun....not necessarily all the solving but definitely turning smilies on my map picked up during the recent mega. TFTC.
We went for a ride today now that the Mega had finished, thanks for a great Mega and series, TFTC
Next stop on dog walk from Wahgunyah. Nice to be walking between caches been doing but of driving down dirt roads lately. Lovely walk. Quick find. TFTC
This was the last of three of this series I found today. It was very pleasant walking along the trail this afternoon. The cache was found easily in a fairly predictable location. Watch your head as you approach GZ.
#17816; Day 6 of the Rutherglen Mega mission and the last full day of caching before heading for home. A very productive day with 92 finds after an early start, to collect a couple of caches to the south of town. After breakfast, I teamed up with albida33, fitzy_1965 and minniek for a visit to the enchanted hunt followed by the Howlong Bridges, another in the Winery Walkabout series and the last couple of adventure labs as well. It was then on to complete the FTF Explosion series along with some extras for minniek and I that the others had logged on an earlier visit. Dropped albida33 and fitzy_1965 back at camp, before minniek and I headed out to collect the beginner challenges, before returning to town for the lunch event and CITO. Collected a couple of adventure lab bonuses along with some rubbish as we made our way around the lake for the CITO. minniek and I then set out to log Brolga Bill's Bike Trail, as well as a few other caches we passed along the way. We finished the day with a visit to the Golf Club for a cold refreshment and the Grip It and Rip It event. All up a very busy day! Apologies for the largely generic logs! TFTC Wiser than Owls
Day 5 of our loop through Vic and SA then home.
Up nice and early again (no thanks to the end of daylight savings), fitzy_1965 and I joined albida33 abd LuckylL10n for a day that took us from one end of the region to the other.
First up we headed to Howlong to pick up what we could there. Next, we travelled back to Rutherglen to pick up the rest of the newly published multis. At lunch, we headed back into town for the event and CITO on offer. In the afternoon, LuckyL10n and I headed out to clean up the rest of the caches around the area that others collected at Christmas time. This included the BBBT series.
All caches were found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned.

Second day of our trip and the first full day at the Rutherglen Mega. Doing our usual holiday tradition, Huntress went off for a long run while I went geocaching. We both chose the Wahgunyah to Rutherglen Rail trail as the location. I think Huntress run 12 kilometres while I ran 1 with her back to the car.
Almost walked past this one while not concentrating. But once I noticed. Was easy find.

Day 5 on the Rutherglen Mega site. Today was a day to clean up the rest of the caches that we had planned to do as well as complete the remaining wineries in the AL. We had planned to complete the rail trail, so after a few other caches , Linda dropped me at Waygunyah and I cycled back to Rutherglen caching the BBBT series.

Off to the Mega with Spiffy- and many others. All caches have been presolved in the 14 month lead up and other interesting caches flagged for collection to assist with various challenges or just because they looked fun!
Today was random day collecting puzzle art and whereigos. Loved the containers.
Thanks to Wiser than Owls for the fun and the adventure.

**Mystery Find #1000**
Monday of the Rutherglen Mega Event. A fine but windy day and the wind was bitterly cold at times. Only one DNF today and we were able to find that on a return visit. Mostly mystery caches were found today including around six that we hadn't solved but were able to find by looking at proximity circles in Cachly and also looking for tyre tracks and cacher trails. An excellent assortment of caches and all were well placed. Apologies for this generic log but there were far too many to remember individual caches.
**Thank-you to Wiser than Owls for placing this geocache**

Found with Bonfire7, Loci612, Muppet95 and sebass19; signed as YTB which means "Yeah the Boys"! Today we booked bikes from Rutherglen and rode all the way to Wahgunyah to nab all caches along the rail trail. Absolutely glorious day, not too hot, really nice scenery. The trail was flat and in good condition. The puzzles were fun, interesting yet highly accessible; and at GZ all caches were in accessible hiding places. Laughs and fun times were had; a great day out. TFTC Wiser than Owls!

Awesome cache thanks Wiser than Owls from deanside!
Very happy to be heading to another Mega and this year we took leave the day before and after Easter to make it much more relaxing and enjoyable. Have to do that next Mega as well.
Today we were doing the bike trail on the scooters and lastly beginner challenges. All were found safe and sound with no DNFs. Much fun was teaching Kristy to ride the scooter and she did well going through the bush for the challenge caches on it!
Thanks Wiser than Owls for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

The mega fun times continue!
Today spiffy-, fleabag- and I set out to ride the bike trail and go for a little off road bush scooter adventure.
It was my first scooter geocaching trip and I bumbled along, had a few abrupt stops as I nearly missed the caches, a couple of nearly falls with over confidence but overall a marvelous time per the squeals of delight (not terror!). The bush scooting was a bit tricky with some big sticks (thankfully of the wooden type as we managed to avoid the snake) and a few dips.
Thanks for the fun fact themed puzzles and the cache placement. We managed to find them all!

Day Five: Albury to Rutherglen to Wangaratta
Weather: Another fine day for caching.
I’ve decided to return to Rutherglen on the NSW side of the Murray today, and this was one of the caches I found along the way. I crossed into Victoria from Corowa and managed to squeeze in four Brolga Bill caches before the lunch time event. Thanks for this great series Wiser Than Owls; I hope to make a much bigger dent in it the next time I pass by this way.
It’s officially a mega!

The main goal of today was to complete the BBBT trail, on bikes!
This was so much fun, it has been a while since I have cached by bike! And what better than to do it with a group of mates! Toy Hunters already had his bike booked, so we were hoping they would have enough bikes for the rest of us! Turns out nobody else had booked a bike this morning at all, so there was plenty for us to choose from! We smashed out the series well before lunch, thanks to the excellent coordinates and easy finds! We then started to pick off some odd caches around the place, before heading to the lunch event, and then spending the afternoon in Howlong to grab the virtual and a few other interesting ones nearby!
**Signed the log as YTB** for "Yeah the Boys" which for this cache included:

I am finally catching up on logs and have some time today at 2am in the terminal of LAX waiting for my connecting flight. My brain is mush from the flight SYD to LAX so I'm just getting the basics done. This one was found with TEAM JIBE + ADI. Really enjoyed the Rutherglen events and my time geocaching there. TFTC
Rutherglen Mega - Easter 2023 - Day 4: Monday

We were in Rutherglen for the mega, and decided to hire bikes for this series. All caches found in excellent condition.Apologies for the late log, these were all saved offline and I've just found them.
Log written by ChatGPTToday, our adventurous family set out on a geocaching journey through the winding trails and lush forests of Rutherglen, Victoria. With GPS coordinates guiding our way, we embarked on foot, eager to uncover hidden treasures along the way. From caches hidden beneath rocks to surprises tucked away in hollow logs, each discovery brought us closer together as a family. As we hiked through the serene landscape, laughter filled the air, mingling with the sounds of birdsong and rustling leaves. With each cache found, we added our names to logbooks and exchanged trinkets, leaving behind a mark of our adventure. Geocaching on foot not only provided thrilling experiences but also allowed us to appreciate the beauty of our natural surroundings, creating memories that will be cherished for years to come.
The JAMS (JJ52, allister w, mogni and sir_spectre) go mega... We came, we cached, we laughed, we hugged and we had a great time. All caches were replaced better than found. We joined forces with some others doing the same trail, logged as JAMS & BAB6.

This was a fun set of puzzles, of varying challenge and difficulty.
We enjoyed them immensely!
In Rutherglen, we did not have our bicycles, so these were found either as we walked or drove.
It was good walking weather, not too hot!

The JAMS team (JJ52 allister w, mogni and sir_spectre) were on a road trip heading to the Rutherglen Mega event (staying in Corowa) for 3 days then winding our way home via Albury, Wangaratta, Bendigo and various other places in between. It was a great week with many more caches found than we expected. There were targeted caches, challenge caches, Ad Labs, events and various others to fulfill various statistics for the four of us. We were lucky with the weather, it rained a bit on our way over on Friday, then half a day after we left Wangaratta but on the whole it was great caching weather. We did drive a few slippery muddy roads, but nothing too bad. We also caught up with lots of people either at events or out in the field and enjoyed many great chats. All in all a fun time with lots of Victoria explored and then very tired when I arrived home. [^]
Solved all these in the months between Whittlesea and Rutherglen Megas, now it was time to go and find them all.
Thanks for the cache Wiser than Owls.

It was an early start to the day a couple of quick ones is Albury and then a couple in Corowa before catching up with Domsky and the Roddy’s for more adventures
Today was my chance to finish off and clean up a lot of loose ends in town. We pretty much started at one end and worked our way around. I was in car for part and another team for the rest, I even got to play on some Escooters for most of the BBBT. It was a fantastic day for me as I got to sit back and see the sights as well as finish off different series and the ones as we passed by.
The FTF series was one we finished and the planets was another. Got in some adventure labs as we passed also. All logs were signed and the usual different coloured pens depicted on who got it first, lol. Thanks again for the hides and the puzzles.

After Lunch I got my Clever Mike (also it's trackable name),
and his friends out of the 4x4, for a bike ride.
I had made up a mount for a navigator on the bike to show me the way the caches.
A lot easier/safer then having the phone out, and riding as well.
Rode from the mega site, though town and all the way to Wahgunyah.
To save time and to not take up room on the logs we sometimes signed as GDS+M
Gwd.aussie = G , D@geo = D , Sharon14 = S , and Mezza74 = M
And other times with sign with our normal or shorted caching names.
Thank you for the cache Wiser than Owls

Out and about caching toda. After arriving at GZ and searching, finally found the cache and signed the log. TFTC
Stamped as JAMS - JJ52, alllister w, mogni, sir_spectre. All of these teams are from South Australia and after some major planning we managed to find approx 700 caches while being away for a week. Also qualifiied for a variety of challenges, found LGA's and had lots of laughs. Found while attending the Victorian Mega in Rutherglen.
Thanks

We are in town for the Easter weekend and attending the MEGA event.
This was our last morning before driving back to Melbourne to fly home to Brisbane.
We parked at the rest stop and walked to these last few caches in the geo art series.
The local dogs said hi as we approached. The little one wanted to climb the tree to retrieve. Didn’t that take a while. We are actually still here.
All is good with the log book here. We re-hid as found.
Thanks very much for the cache and the series Wiser Than Owls. ONLY ONE TO GO. Cheers

Thanks for this cache that we had fun finding.

Out with PPE and the Megatrons. No bikes just cars at the right spots. An easy enough walk while at the Mega. No real issues with the puzzles which the group solved shortly after publishing. TFTC
This series was solved by the JAMS puzzlers before we left for the mega. quick find.
Found with JAMS (( JJ52, Allister w, Mogni, plus sir_spectre ) Mitchell&hound wasn't with us this trip) crew. All logs stamped as JAMS to save log space. This trip we are off to the Rutherglen Mega and then slowly coming back to S.A. for a total of 8 dys and 7 nights. The targets of this trip are for JJ52 to get 11 more multi to get to 1000 multi's and a few more Victorian LGA's, Allister W was targeting 17 virtuals ( or as many as he could get ) a few more Victorian LGA's Mogni to make the Rutherglen Mega her 20, 000 find and also for her to complete all Victoria LGA's, sir_spectre needs 1 more multi to get to 1000 multi's and get his Victoria LGS's down to 2 LGA's left. We got 20 or more finds in a LGA if we stayed in there over night. We also detoured to stamp any challenge caches that we were " in the general area off " and to complete that challenge before we came back to S.A. This meant that some times dirt road (s) had to be walked down because they were to wet to drive down and/or haven't been repaired since last years flooding. We started off the holiday in the rain and then that cleared up only to start raining and a overnight thunder storm but most of the trip was dry. Over 600 caches found for the trip including over 120 lab stages in that total. Got to complete the GPS Maze at the Rutherglen Mega for a 2nd time. Allister w was the team driver for all of the Victorian part of the trip. I think this was the first trip ever to Victoria that the extension pole didn't get used but the 6.2 meter ladder did get a work out.

Which of these things just doesn't belong?
Yesterday's plan was to do the BBP caches, but the first road we went down was a dry weather only road and after the day before's rainstorm very quickly got decidedly dodgy. So we aborted that and worked some of the Easter series. Today we are giving that road another day to dry out and instead leaving the car behind and cycling the rail trail to Corowa. Went and hired some electric bikes just for the fun of it (it's only 11km - muscle power would have been fine for me). Nice classic Australian big blue sky today, just like it should be .
Found during an awesome 10 day Aussie trip, centered around the Rutherglen Mega event. Log signed as NZBITS, for NZ_B, Itchyfeet2020 and the Seagnoid.

Apologies for generic logs.
I have really enjoyed solving these puzzles. The seagnoid and I are biking the trail (the first time on an ebike for me). Throughly enjoying the biking and scenery and seeing families out and about.
Found with Itchyfeet2020 and the Seagnoid -signed as NZBITS. We are one group of several kiwis over here for the Rutherglen Mega at Easter. It’s going to great with so many sessions of things I want to learn about. PLUS so many caches to find.
Kia ora rawa atu for the cache Wiser than Owls.

Nice find here with PrezDough. We quickly discovered it whilst in the area for the Mega weekend.
The series was solved many many months ago and we managed to plan an attack on these caches over our weekend away.
The cache, container and log are all in excellent condition.
I visited 3 TB.

Having solved these before we came for the Mega, today was the day to change them to smileys. Hired a couple of e-bikes and off we went.

Time for our next exciting geo adventure - Rutherglen Mega. NZ_B, the Seagnoid and I are here from NZ. Today is Day 5 and the plan today is the BBBP. The other two have hired bikes, but I was keen for a big walk. Heading off before them i managed to beat them to about 20 before they passed. Interestingly while caching, biking is not much faster than walking and if i didnt catch them at the next one I wasnt far behind. Lunch together at the end and time for me to turn around and this time enjoy the walk, and chat to all the other cachers - it's busy today! Thank you for these puzzles and caches they were great fun and it has been a magic day to get out exploring. Logs are being signed as NZBITS for NZ_B, Itchyfeet2020 and The Seagnoid.

Hired e-bikes today to ride the BBBT trail today. Grabbed some others as we passed too. Had a great day out. Thanks to all the COs for their work setting up and maintaining the caches.
I found your D2.0/T1.5 Small Mystery called BBBT - 13 on 9 April 2023. It was find #18115 for me. Thank you Wiser than Owls for placing this cache for our enjoyment in the wonderful state of Victoria.
Back out with Slowdog again today tackling random Trads and the solved BBBT series. All rugged up with only the 1 coffee keeping me going. Most caches were easily found.

Walking the rail trail from Wahgunyah to Rutherglen with Tiz13. Bit windy today and a lot of walking was done but we had lots of stories to tell and old memories to recollect. Great series. TFTC ??

Happy Easter ???? 2023!
The day started with an egg hunt and a bike ride, then it was a BBQ lunch before tackling all the new explosion multis. The farewell event was the last on the agenda for the day and it felt like a great send off.
Thanks to all the COs and GV for all the smileys ?? today! It’s been a memorable Easter with my two little geokids ??

Day 4 the last full day of caching started with a bike trip along the Mountains to the Murray (M2M) rail-trail. Conditions were cold and blustery but we knocked it off in 3 hours. We followed that with a mix of caches and ALs.

So endeavour3 organized the bikes. We just hopped on, pushed and balanced. None of this electron assisted stuff, just good old increased oxidative phosphorylation. Multiple stops and by the end a bit of a sore derriere saw our cache find go up, as well as out heart rate. Both good things.
