Wandered her but not lostEarly morning day one of 8 days up here. My first find. Waited for this for a small milestone so thank you firesafe for placing for us to enjoy and learn. Am sitting watching the small shops coming in or at and truly miss those days of sailing BUT today I am not sailing and that's not a bad thing. If I was I'd be working and today is not a day for that!! Missed all the rain from a few days ago but the green and the humidity reflect rainy season onset! TYFTC fave. Tomorrow there is a ceremony here and the council workers are now beginning to clean it so it shines

06-Aug-24
Lest we forget.Freddo and e.gregory1 were heading up the middle of Australia following Stuart's well trodden route. We were travelling in air conditoned comfort and style. No stale food. No camels to carry water. We were leaving the cold winter for the northern season.Today was the day to find this cache. Today is the twentieth and ninth day of Julius Caesar's Month in the wonderful year of twenty twenty four. We found your cache container and added some inky stuff to the paper sheet or note pad you have supplied for a log book or scroll. The cache container and log book or scroll were in good condition. It was a cool cloudy and raining. No wind today. With the log signed and the cache replaced it was time to leave. Onwards to the next cache. Woot, that is not to far.I would like to show my respect and acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land, and their continuing connection to it. I wish to pay my respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures; and to Elders past, present and emerging.I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count and winning that one hundred word diamond badge again. Somebody moved the goal posts. So many caches to find. So many caches to log. We find them, sign them and replace them. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun. Apologies for the generic part of the cache log. We do apologise for the generic logs. Thanks to all the cache owner for placing this cache here for our enjoyment. Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke fr den Cache. Gracias por el cach. 18-Feb-24
pineapplegoldy and my newly signed up friend "goldyscacheelf" are in the NT for a few days. There isn't much caching on the schedule, mostly just national parks, museums and croc jumping tours.Today was the day we explored Litchfield National Park and East Point back in Darwin. We had just wrapped up in Litchfield National Park and came back for some dinner before going to see East Point.I really wanted to do this virtual while here.I wanted to do it tomorrow as it is the anniversary of the bombing of Darwin. However, it seemed that a ceremony for the anniversary had been set up here as the area in front of the memorial was fenced off. I decided to do it today in case I couldn't access the area due to a ceremony tomorrow. I could still access the nearby path and the monument from that side. So I went the longggg way around all of the barricades to get to GZ. I took the required photo and had a look at the names of the people who paid the ultimate sacrifice. My grandma's uncle served in Darwin in WWII as an engineer for the bomber planes. He sometimes had to deliver the newly built planes into the war zones to replace the ones that had been shot down. Some of his colleagues and friends didn't make back, even though they were not soldiers.Lest We Forget. Thanks firesafe for this virtual cache, which brings Goldy's total find count to 3972 on the 18th of February 2024.

We were in Darwin Australia for the day on our ship - Holland America's Volendam. We had a route of caches and Adventure Lab Stops planned. We walked about 8 miles around the city, finding 6 caches and completing 15 Lab Stops. We went back to the ship to cool off and end our walk for the day; however, checking Messages there, we saw that a CO had answered our Message about a problem with one of their caches. With that resolved, Marbles went out, met GrtDane along the way, and the two of us walked in the sun and the heat of the day another mile round trip and found that cache - Phew!#####################This Cache: We got to GZ and posted the required photo - thank you
