We enjoy doing virtual caches with goingplaces2 and this one has a special purpose. Thanks for bringing us here and TFTC.

Heading to Koroit Mt Gambier, we stopped at Heywood for lunch. I saw that there was a virtual cache at the water tower, so headed that way and took the photo.
Another nicely painted tank. Travelling through to SA today. TFTC The Morris.
Visited with n0w0rries on our way to Portland.Very colourful. Thank you for the Virtual Rewards 3.0 - 2022-2023 cache.
Photos taken.Adding yet another find to our International Earthcache Day 2024 long weekend. It is an inspiring artwork indeed.Thank you for placing this Virtual Rewards cache, without which we would most likely have driven straight past this interesting water tower.
This is a lovely tower in town. We stopped here for a short break when driving back to our holiday spot. I always get a bit goofy when my daughter is taking pictures. Be thankful you're spared the dreaded 0.5-lens photos! Thanks for the virtual!
After staying at the Kingston RV campground last night we proceeded towards Warrnambool, our goal for today. We made a little detour from the A1 and C176 to visit this virtual cache. Thanks a lot for showing us this piece of art at the water tower,Murkel,on tour with Mukel111. September 2024 16:03
Passing through and couldnt overlook at virtual. Stunning in the bright sunHeading to Geelong from Adelaide to see our mates daughter from WA play footy and tick off another Victorian parkrun. Finding a few caches along the way.*owner_name|*, I found Heywood Water Tower today. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.
TFTC The Morris for placing this cache, number 14677 for me.A very appropriate use of your well earned virtual. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to pause, read and learn.I would like to show my respect and acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land, and their continuing connection to it. I wish to pay my respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures; and to Elders past, present and emerging.
A great adventure we had travel around. What interesting sights and facts. Thank you for taking us to all these areas.
We were on our way to Portland today from home in Hamton and I noticed this tower mural for the first time. It seems we haven't been down to the area many times since 2019.Love the murals on the towers and silos.TftcPete & Jo
We are travelling with richlink on our Annual Caravan Geocaching road trip, using geocaching as our guide. We are staying in Portland for a few days, wandering around the area enjoying the amazing sights this area has to offer. TFTC. LNCU.
Travelling with iluvtrekking from our home state of WA on. SA caching foray. Staying in Portland for a few days to grab some of the local hides. Spending the arvo getting some outlying caches. Thanks for the hide
On our way to Ballarat and just had to stop and admire the artwork. Tftc and bringing us here. Beautiful
Stopped here after attending a meeting in Heywood. Fabulous memorial to our indigenous diggers. Tftc
#14,613. It was nice to call into Heywood to do a few of the local caches and this virtual cache was the initial reason we stopped in this small town. Quite a stunning bit of artwork on the tower. Definitely now has become a point of interest. Thanks so much The Morris for showing us this feature. Cheers GSEL. Will upload a photo of my GPS by plaque.
Found this with gridge98 on our road trip to Victoria. We took the great ocean road to Warrnambool, then to Ballarat and Halls Gap. Fantastic trip away over 5 days. Thanks for the cache!
A lovely mural out here in town, the town was busy this morning with the Anzac ceremony taking place. courtneyrose_ and I headed away to Victoria for a 5 day trip for me to partake in the Ballarat Marathon. Along the way we made our way to the great ocean road to explore the area, after both of us had not been there for many years. We then headed to Ballarat for 2 nights before heading to Halls Gap for a scenic experience for the night before making our way back to home to Adelaide. Thanks for the cache.
I always love these Murals and this was a nice spot for a rest and stretch of the legs. Thanks The Morris for bringing us to this location.
Mr Beetle initially put the wrong coordinates into the Garmin and we went past this one and out into the scrub. Had noticed the tower as we drove through town so made him pull over and re-enter them.Back we went to the tower and we were most impressed by the art work here. How artists can make these tower and silo art works so incredible is beyond me!Took the required photo for the cache and then another with the tower as well. Thanks The Morris, it is so easy to forget the contributions made by the aborigines to our war efforts.
??Road tripped to Adelaide for the?????Leap Day Mega, caching all the way and trying to fulfil various challenges.????This cache-which challenge/why? ??can't pass a virtual ??Had a great time at the Mega catching up with friends and heaps of caching. Now I'm wandering home to Brisbane stopping here and there and meeting up with friends here and there along the way. Stayed nearby last night and came past after grabbing some supplies. I think this is the first memorial water tower I've seen and it's very well done. TFTC??
Suscoe was heading to Nelson today and it ended up pretty close to 40 degrees which made the trip a bit uncomfortable. We found a range of caches even though it was so hot.Sunshine, blue skies and a northerly wind. Thanks to The Morris for this virtual cache.
I'm really happy to be here this morning!! Reg Saunders is the grandfather to my best mate and it's always great to hear how his family talk of him. I own the graphic novel - Reg Saunders , An Indigenous War Hero that I read with my little crumbs all the time.Beautiful art work!! FP from me
#13331 - 7:11:00 PM; Day five of "The Great Leap Forward" road trip and it is time to head for home after a successful mission to South Australia. The day started with an event, where I delivered feathertop, who had accompanied me from Kaniva a couple of days ago, into the custody of GemmaSistema for the trip home. After the event, I headed north into Salisbury and on to Tea Tree Gully collecting a couple of caches in each as I passed through, then I set sail for Tailem Bend and on to KingstonSE, Robe, Millicent and Mt Gambier collecting some more caches, including this one. I then crossed into Victoria collecting caches in Dartmoor, Heywood and Tyrendarra before heading on to Port Fairy for tea and Warnambool to spend the night. All up I added eight more LGAs to the collection today! All caches were found in good order and where appropriate, were returned as found once the log was signed. Apologies for the largely generic logs TFTC The Morris
Im getting closer to my destination and I always have time to stop and find a cache or look at something. This water tower was worth stopping to look at and reading some interesting information about those pictured on it. The artists that paint these never cease to amaze me how they can paint such giant paintings.TFTV The MorrisKeep smiling
Loci612 is sending the answers for DARKSIDEDAN and Loci612. An interesting stop on our cross country odyssey. Thanks for the cache.
**Today:**Found with DSDToday we decided to both visit the Great Ocean Road for the first time! This wasn't originally on the plan for this trip, but our route changed slightly due to fires and we were too close to the coast here to miss it! We started caching in Port Campbell and ended our day in Mount Gambier, where I also crossed the SA border for the first time as well! A hugely productive and incredible day of amazing sights and plenty of new places visited. ---**This Cache:**Incredible mural on this water tower, a great artistic addition to the town! Of course I wanted to take my photo with the beautiful mural itself, but then realised the requirement was with some information boards nearby instead. so I have uploaded both TFTC
Making my way to my next destination as I take a semi slow journey to the Mega this was one of the virtual I stopped to admire.
Respect Gunditjmara servicemen.Love the mural tower. Thanks for bring me here & virtual cache
A stop for coffee and bakery food before travelling to Mt G. Nice artwork. tftc

After a day of caching around Portland it was time to come back to the campsite ine Heywood and clear out the few remaining caches that were published since our last trip through here. Over in South Australia we have silo art along the train lines. Nice location fav point.Found with Mogni. I think this is the most changed trip in the planning stage that i have ever been on. The " original trip " was supposed to start on the 31st of dec but at the start of December life changed and the trip was now starting on the 26th of December and all accommodation that had booked cancelled and now see what else is free on the earlier dates. A major readjust of plans and got 1/2 the trip booked before the next curve ball came in to alter the plans again. More adjusting the plans again and i realized i could host 2 CITO's in 2 different LGA's in Victoria. What we do to qualify for Victorian challenge caches. Also i got my 20, 000 cache over in Victoria in this trip. It was decided in the end that the 4x4 was going to be the vehicle for this trip that way we could go and target all the caches that you never get, the ones down the sandy/rocky/dirt and forestry roads/tracks. We left Adelaide and headed to Casterton for a couple of days, then to Budj Bim National Park ( and saw 5 koalas in the camp ground high up in the trees ), then over Heywood, a night in Mount Gambier plus there attended the 3rd CITO of the trip before sending a few nights in Millicent and then finally home. Over 250 caches found plus 86 lab caches. Mogni also got her 11th D/T loop. I also got 3 more Victorian LGA's up to 20 finds minimum for another Victorian challenge cache. If the cache was broken/eaten/smashed it was replaced with a new container and if the log sheet was wet it was replaced and if the log was full or almost full extra log sheets were added to the cache.
I like water towers and it was great to visit this very significant one. Thanks for highlighting, always amazing art work on these towers.
We enjoyed our visit to Budj Bim earlier today so was good to come here and learn some more. Great memorial/monument. Thanks for bringing us here

Spontaneous Spring Victorian Roadtrip
Day Two: Millicent to Ballarat
Weather: fantastic.
The tower was spotted while I was still some distance out of town. Photo of an information board supplied as requested. Towns that still have a blank water tower or silos must be in high demand now.
Thanks for highlighting this artwork and tribute with your cache The Morris.
It’s officially a mega.

Unfortunately half the team stayed in Western Australia looking after sick friends while the other half had to head home for his own medical appointments.
Of course I dropped in to see dad in Portland on the way through and meet up with our daughter.
We were in Heywood to pick up some stuff for dad but had to try our luck at this virtual. Happily it turned out to be very easy and an enjoyable place to visit.
These artists must have better perception than I have to be able to paint something so big on a round surface and being so close.
Many thanks The Morris for bringing us here, a favorite point from us.

We have been working our way home from a tour at Maralinga with a group of cachers, mainly from South Australia. Geoturtle37, Team Crackers, Micaparamedic and myself set off for some time but now there is only GT37 and myself left.We also need to be home soon but always time for a cache or seven on the way.We were expecting to visit this area tomorrow but unfortunately, we passed through here at night time so didn't get to see the artwork particularly well. Just have to come back and have a better look. Thanks for placing this cache and bringing us here.
Team Crackers, Micaparamedic, Papi4506 and I were heading back to Melbourne slowly after joining some other cachers and doing a tour of Maralinga. Team Crackers and Micaparamedic have had to leave us so we are making our way home.It was a shame that our visit was at night time as I would have loved to have seen the artwork in better light. Just means we will have to visit again. Pleased to have a smiley here thank you.
We’re on our way to Adelaide from Melbourne in a very convoluted way!! We needed to collect some info for a WIG in Warrnambool and needed to visit Mount Gambier’s LimeFM so that determined the route to Adelaide this year. After leaving Warrnambool, we headed here to Heywood as JMelb loves all things Painted Silo/Water Tower or Street Art related. LoAbsolutely love this one Photo of GMelb attached

On our way from Casterton down to Portland for a few days. One can hardly miss this incredible artwork as you drive into town. It immediately made me think "cache"? and of course there is.
It was so good to read the plaques and discover the story behind the art.

Some days off work so time for Mr and Mrs JTreeTrack2 to head SouthWest, to clear the brain and see some beautiful countryside and ocean views. So we packed up the Camry geocar, put the tent on the roof racks (the heater also packed) and headed out to base ourselves at Killarney and range off from here. Warrnambool, Nelson, Mount Gambier and some bits in between.
Heading back to Camp and last stop for the day. What an amazing mural depicting five amazing people. The colours are so fresh and bright. We both loved the work and beauty that have gone into this artwork.
Thanks for the cache The Morris

We noticed this water tower artwork as we were passing through Heywood on a trip to Portland some time ago so it was good to return and actually stop and have a closer look. Very impressive work with its rich colours highlighting the sacrifices made by Gunditjmara servicemen and women.
Photos taken and info boards read now off for some lunch at the local bakery.
Thanks The Morris for the Virtual placement.

Out & about on a road trip to Portland, with a few detours, with scramping, PrincessAria1 & LittleGoose.
It has been a few years since stopping at Heywood. It has changed a bit since then. The water tower was fantastic with interesting information accompanying it.

Found with hevwalker, LittleGoose and PrincessAria. What a stunning piece of art with an unique entrance piece. The fire bowl was my favourite bit of this cache, as I have not ever seen such a permanent welcome smoking ceremony piece of culture. Very unique. A great memorial and dedication. TFTC
We visited thus water tower on the way past. We love visiting water mural towers.

We have heard that there are people who are 'over' silo art - well, we are not, and we loved this one! Also really liked the smoking bowl / rock and the whole research and thought that went into the creation of this piece of art.

As we made our way today from Mount Gambier to Warrnambool, we stopped in Heywood to explore.
We really enjoyed visiting the water tower, looking at the artwork and reading the information here.
It was also a good place for us to stop and stretch our legs before heading further on our journey.
We have taken photos and say thank you for placing this virtual in this country town. Geocaching is a great way to explore whilst on our journey, and we love to connect with the locals as we stop for petrol, or perhaps a meal and overnight lodging on the way.

Found on the 17/2/2023. But made a mistake. Awesome job. Thanks for flirtinwithdanger for helping. I’ve always seen this water tower every time I go home but never actually went up to it.
