Out and about again, left Perth on a trip to USA and Canada. We stop briefly at Sydney and Auckland (New Zealand). Caching time is limited so trying to get as many as muggle family will allow without a mutiny on my hands. Walked to nearby cache and read this as I was walking. Took the required photo. This cache is find number - 16349.Thanks to 3mu for the caches I have found.
Found with fitzy_1965 whilst we headed into Sydney for a work awards night. We took a detour to stop at this virtual. Thanks for placing.
Found with minniek during a weekend visit to Sydney.minniek and I are attending a Non-Geocaching Event (a what??) in Sydney this weekend, and we of course grabbed a few caches along the way for International Geocaching Day. We selected a few of the rarer types to fill in a few calendar dates. This looked like a lovely Virtual to visit, and we weren't disappointed. A nice convenient car park and we soon had the tree in our sight. Photos taken and attached. We then headed off to the next cache on our list. Thanks 3mu !!
A bit of a deviation from the Hume Highway but it is certainly a nice spot. TFTC
#7787We needed something to do today, and we had a lot random missing LGAs in lower Sydney, so a trip down for a CITO and some LGA hunting sounded good, so that is what we did today! end of copy paste A nice stop for the Camden LGA here, fulfilled both requirements with my treefishing pole and my Dad (the person I found it with). Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache 3mu
#7787We spent the day cruising across some Sydney extremes, with the main objective of filling in our LGA map for the city, still chipping away at some challenges and other goals. We got 8/11 LGAs we needed, we just ran out of time and daylight. We spend most of the day in the car, seemingly at red lights too, and after starting in Newcastle at 0500, then a CITO at 0830, are exhausted. 20 caches including the CITO, 2 trigs, 1 DNF and those 8 new LGA's, all in perfect cool caching conditions too - a top day really.I'm shown here with our newest fishing pole...Thanks for the cache!
I tend not to do virtuals but was taking the girl out caching today and she insisted on doing the "Ghost one". Thanks for the cache 3mu
Was in the area but havent noticed this virtual before. Drove past the hill as the rain is preventing quite a bit of caching. Thanks for the smiley 3mu
I visited this Virtual cache as I travelled over to Sydney from Adelaide to deal with some private business matters before heading back down to Canberra for the Mega event over Easter. It has been great to be able to get back out on the road again, travelling and camping on my own. The weather is good too!It was interesting to wander up the track here and look back down over all the new houses. Some of them are huge! Thanks 3mu for the cache. And a favourite point from me for a simple, straightforward Virtual cache with no additional logging requirements beyond the photo. Well done!
A dominating force over Emerald Hills is the fig.. A marvellous spot for a specimen tree and a park with a great view. TFTV 3mu.
#13689OCW Martin Cousins and Brewmaker to tackle the A9 series. After completing the A9 series, we stopped at nearby Oran Park for just a few more caches. The fig tree is just above my finger tip!TFTC
Four years ago, a Bromance team adventure to hike Australia's highest 10 peaks in Kosciuszko National Park was cancelled after bushfires devastated the Snowy Mountains (and indeed most of the Eastern seaboard). We finally returned to Kosciuszko National Park a few days ago and spent three wonderful days in perfect weather hiking a 61 kmcircuit around the mountains climbing all of Australia's 13 highest peaks and collecting all the alpine caches along our route. After a recovery night and some caching in Canberra, we made our way to Goulburn last night, where we enjoyed a big feed at the pub before an early night. Our planned destination today was Sydney, so we got an early start, collecting a dozen or so target caches in Goulburn, before continuing north Moss Vale and onto Bowral. After an hour or two grabbing some caches in Bowral, we have hightailed it to Sydney. Seff had nabbed a cheap Airbnb for the night, but of course, we had to get just one more first. This interesting virtual was our last cache for the day. Good to see that the developers of the urban sprawl which this magnificent tree overlooks had the common sense to leave it be. Pity they didn't leave a few more mature trees in the developments. I am not a fan of these modern housing estates. Many thanks 3MUPete#7,778
Crookedpete, JezNDez and I were part of a group of 7 geocachers from Brisbane who set off on a 3 day hike to climb to the summit of 13 of the highest mountains in Kosciuszko National Park. Originally this hike was supposed to have been undertaken after Xmas in 2019 but the rampant bushfires closed the park just as I was picking up my fellow team members from Sydney Airport. Now, four years later and it is finally mission accomplished and, after staying the night in Goulburn, we are slowly making the drive back to Queensland, collecting a number of caches on our to-do list along the way. After a number of stops including Moss Vale and Bowral we were heading to western Sydney where we had booked some last minute accommodation for the night. In my pre trip planning I had spotted this cache which looked quite interesting so we made sure to pass by on our way today.A nice area, apart from the sprawling McMansions crowded around nearby. And some nice views of the rains storms passing through the area. I definitely be walking through here a lot if I lived in the area. TFTC
Currently living with a blue face from the cache up at the tree, so pleased to do something a bit creative and less time-devouring. TFTCPls note ... Pic is there! Slide the (new) one across
Find number 12750 at 6:26:46pm on Wednesday the 13 December 2023Time to use up a travel voucher before it expires on December 31 so I hatched a plan for a day trip to Sydney to do some LGA's and SideTracked geocaches. First flight out of Melbourne in the morning and last flight back in the evening, it turned out to be a long day, up a 3:30 and back home at half past midnight for a total of nineteen geocaches, thirteen SideTracked and nine LGA's Great views and sadly didn't have time (or I'll miss my flight) to make it right up to the tree but it is there in the background.**Thanks for placing this cache 3mu**---Don't miss finishing the Ballarat GeoTour before it ends on 4th March 2024. A list of the geocaches can be found [here](https://coord.info/BM9GWJ5). The final GeoTour Event is the [Farewell Ballarat GeoTour](https://coord.info/GCAFQ8B) on the 18th February 2024!You can also get prepared for the 2023 Victorian Cache of the Year Awards by checking out our preliminary lists [here](https://geocachingvictoria.com.au/information/great-caching-lists/).
Drove to Campbelltown this morning on a spontaneous trip to visit a CITO and grab a few caches along the way. Great views hereTFTC Wilbert67
What a fancy, shinny new suburb. And a great view to be had as well. I like the stylized fig tree panels at the look out. I included them in a shot too. The second shot has the real fig tree in the back ground.
Thanks for a nice stop to break up my road trip.

A nice easy virtual- in the rush missed the nearby traditional! Some good views over the growing suburbs. TFTC!
Another day in the burbs with steeba as we targeted a few more caches for our monthly challenge.
This was an interesting spot for a virtual but in the afternoon’s winter weather it was a lovely spot.

We are on a short (three day) caching holiday in and around Camden, staying for two nights in a park cabin at the Poplar Tourist Park in Elderslie. Hoping to collect some previously solved Mystery/Puzzle caches, complete some Adventure Labs, and find as many different cache icon types as we can to go towards this month’s "Wheel of Challenges" souvenir chase. The homeward journey will be via Galston, where we have pre-booked tickets for the Sunday running of the Hornsby Model Engineers Galston Valley Model Railway. Photos will be uploaded to some (most) logs on our return to home base.
Today (day 1) we travelled out to Camden, going via the A3 Arterial and M5 Motorway, then took a short diversion along Bringelly Road for a Letterbox cache and a SideTracked cache, before following Camden Valley Way down to Camden. Stopped for some caches along Camden Valley Way, including a Virtual cache, before arriving at our accommodation in Elderslie. After checking in at the caravan park we drove into town and did a loop walk around the 2.3 kilometre Miss Llewella Davies Pioneer Walkway. This was the 4th of 22 finds for the day (day 1), and 4th find of the holiday.
This Virtual cache was next, parking the geomobile on the road at the start of the concrete pathway, then following the pathway up to the huge fig tree and GZ. Assembled ourselves and our Garmin 66s GPSr with the fig tree in the background, snapped a photo with the help of our trusty selfie stick, then headed over to the fig tree for a closer look. Took some photos of the district views, grabbed the co-located Traditional cache, then back down to the geomobile to continue our journey to Camden. TFTVC 3mu.

Killing time between work and hockey, and needing a Virtual for the current souvenir challenge, I came to check this one out. I admit at first I wasn't sure which tree was the one in question but soon worked it out from previous photos. Despite the drizzle I went to check out the tree and grab the traditional there also. Great views from up here and some massive houses! TFTC.
My first time to this part of Sydney!
This virtual cache had me very interested in detouring this way through the suburbs before heading back out onto the highway. Everything looks very new out here, and a distinct lack of caches! Hopefully some more come out, as I drove past many great spots!
This was an excellent virtual to showcase the great views on offer. I enjoyed the walk up to the Fig Tree and found the traditional there as well to cement my visit.
Thanks 3mu!

OCW SueDan83 and today we have mainly targeted some bush caches out around Long Point and Ingleburn.
On the drive back home I was telling Dan about a challenge cache I had recently found while on holidays but which I didn't yet qualify for - I was 3 virtual caches short!
I'd managed to find 2 virtuals whilst still on holidays so only needed one more. I mentioned that I intended to come out here and complete this virtual at some point soon and Dan suggested that as we still had some time up our sleeve this afternoon that we detour to it now.
I remember visiting this beautiful old tree a while back to grab Hillster's traditional cache. Such a grand old dame, I am so glad that it has been preserved despite the extensive development that has taken place around it. Nice to come back and visit her again.
A great local spot for a virtual, thanks for setting this one up 3mu

Found with WaywardWoman on a caching day out.
My photo is of my trip Mascot & TB "Bowra" in front of the Fig Tree.
(I'm not in it as my face is in the middle of sun skin damage treatment atm and very red!)
Beautiful views from here.

Tumut to Sydney. As we ventured into the lush landscape of Emerald Hills, our eyes were immediately drawn to a majestic giant fig tree standing tall and proud. Its sprawling branches reached out in all directions, creating a natural canopy that seemed to beckon us closer.
Approaching the tree, we were awestruck by its sheer size and presence. The ancient trunk, weathered and gnarled, told a story of resilience and endurance. We couldn't help but feel a sense of reverence for this living testament to the passage of time. Thanks for the cool virtual cache 3mu.

There is a really great view from here and there was nobody in the park when we came with ilook4geo. Thanks for this virtual cache go to 3mu.
Walked along here to get a better view of this magnificent tree. Well worth coming to see. TFTVC.
Fantastic views over the Blue Mountains on a very clear and crisp morning. Bellbirds in the distance. Moo setting on the horizon. Magical.

Beautiful crisp autumn morning for a wander up near the Fig-tree. I have been here many times just didn’t know about this Virtual till yesterday! TFTC
I spotted this virtual on my geo-map after completing a pub crawl up Camden's main drag so naturally enough, detoured here on my way back to our friends place at Penrith.
There must be a bit of history associated with the tree but whatever it is, I'm pleased that developers have retained it for posterity. Thanks for bringing me here.

??can't pass a virtual
Had a great time catching up with friends and caching ourselves silly. Now I'm heading home and putting on the steam to be back in time for Anzac Day.
Came through here at night so didn't get to see the full size of the tree from a distance. Had to get right up underneath it before I could get any sort of picture even with a good torch.
Looking around, the tree and its park seem to be the only green in all the development. It probably would have been pretty crowded up here during the lockdowns!
Have attached my pics and the one with a rectangular shape in it is the equipment I used. (torch)

This is actually the first calendar day on which I have less than 20 finds. So since I have a goal of 25 finds per calendar day by 2025, it was a must to make some finds today. Pity it was so hot!
Decided to head south east to Camden and surrounds to try to clean up some unfound caches. Unfortunately, I came up short at two locations - one DNF and another DNOpen!
Ah well. Just gives me a reason to return for more!
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
Decided to start here. Parked at the lookout and started there by taking in the view before heading Fig-wards!
This is the third time I've been to this fig for a cache. And to be honest, the view is still impressive.
Got my photo, doing my best to keep the poles and wires out of the picture.
Good start to the day.

Today is a stinking hot day, not really a day for geocaching but here I am anyway.
These streets are not on my maps so I had a bit of trouble finding my way here. Lucky you can see the vantage point from all over the district.
That certainly is a magnificent specimen of a Fig Tree.
They don't usuallly grow alone so I wonder what the area originally looked like, how many fig trees were there?
I'm here by myself today so no photos of people, just my geocaching equipment, and name with the view and a close up of THE tree.
Well worth stoppping here for the view and the tree, (Yep shame about the power lines.)

I knew where this would be when it popped up, close to it at least. No walking up the hill today on a sweltering day and I had to do it twice to grab the traditional up there. Will settle for a nice view over the Blue Mountains. The hat is of course in the car for caching

Well, this is a lovely contrast to my last find (a solid T3). I parked right alongside the coordinates, admired the view (no powerlines, but still a sea of black-roofed grey boxes full of people saying "Why is it so hot?"), and met some of the requirements.
I don't do selfies, but here's my pen (unmistakeably so) and my very worn out Explorist 610 (rarely needed these days but often with me just in case). And an out-of-focus fig tree in the background.
Lovely to have another virtual in the region, especially with the thought that went into choosing the less obvious spot people might otherwise miss.
