1 dolphin3 seals.10 pelicansVery Windy!Nobody fishing.Current was ferocious. Tommy Norton was working.Tftc
Thanks for this spot. Today it was extremely breezy. The tide was very fast as well. There was one pelican no fishermen or dolphins. We spotted about 7 seals frolicking in the water.
Thanks Fredd01. Very windy here today! No fishermen about. We saw quite a few seals swimming in the wild water. I didnt see any dolphins or pelicans. There were 100s of seagulls sitting flat on the toad ( possibly avoiding the wind).
A great spot. Lots of seals (30+), dolphins (20+) and pelicans (50+). Photos included.Mandatory photo also taken. TFTVC Brad and Janet are on another epic trip. This time across South Australia to Broken Hill. Then through central and Northern NSW and up into Qld where we will be picking up a new hybrid house-on-wheels. Then we will head south down through more of NSW via Sydney to catch up with B2. Then further south until we get into Victoria from where we will head back into South Australia. Along the way we will grab caches of opportunity.
Who cold can it get!!! No fisher men around here this morning, no seals, pelicans, dolphins only about 23 seagulls. Its so cold that there not seaming around only huddled down on the ground. The water looks so clean.TFTV
I left home base in the mountains to see the sea and seek a few caches and complete a few missions at Lakes - glad I stopped by here - the pelican grabbed my attention too. TFTC and the FUN.
Found with teamashy while staying at Lakes Entrance for the night. A lovely place to sit and enjoy. Saw 7 Pelicans, and 14 Seals on the rocks and in the water. It was overcast, but no wind this morning. No fishermen here, but 3 on the right on the way in. Thanks for the Virtual
Tis a bit windy out here today. But at least its sunny. Nobody fishing and only 2 pelicans to be seen
I do love virtual caches! This was a lovely spot. We had heard that the entrance was blocked but no, it was not. We saw 2 young lads fishing, 2 lots of crab fisher families, 8 pelicans, and . yes, dolphins in the entrance. Yeh! The wind was calm and fortunately the predicted rain had not started yet. Thanks for the cache.
Hoping the photo is acceptable. Did manage to get a trawler as it went through the Entrance.Weather report - it has been a beautiful spring day, with light, but cool breeze. As I sat here eating my fish & chips, the breeze has turned quite cold.Wildlife report - 1 seal trying to raid one of the many crab pots.
No seal no dolphin, 2 pelicans and one fisherman .Its about 12 degrees atm. Its a peaceful place here !
A beautiful sunny morning a lovely blue sky nice and warm3 fishermen at present only 2 pelicansThanks for bringing me here
The weather is overcast with a few dark clouds in the north. Not too many waves today. All the animals are fairway way so I couldn't count them and there's about three fishermen around. Logged with [GCDroid / WheriDroid](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gcdroid.sub).
Found it! Loving morning to be thereSeals over on the rocks 3 pelicans and very still morning.
No dolphins or pelicans today, just seaguls. Beautiful winters day, light winds and sunshine. TFTC.
Today is our last day in Lakes Entrance and it is extremely windy and freezing cold. Perhaps even below freezing!! We have been privileged to see lots of wildlife on our visit here and there are five pelicans on the water edge, one pelican in the water and about 18 dolphins playing in the channel (no seals) and 2 crazy people fishing. Its way too cold to get out of the car, .so taking a photo from the car hehe. It is a little warmer inside and looking out here rather than walking to the end of the sandbank like we did yesterday! thanks for the Amazing views.
This was our last stop for the day.It was getting late in the afternoon and a good time to pause and enjoy the views. While we were here we spotted 6 fisher folk, 1 pelican, 1 fishing boat and 0 seals. There were flat seas, no breeze and it was overcast. Thanks to Fredd01 for this virtual.
Stopped at Lakes Entrance today for lunch and a walk around. Weather was a bit chilly at about 10C, 30kph winds, and light rain off and on. No one out fishing today but we did see 6 or 7 seals and 3 pelicans. No dolphins today. Water was a bit choppy. Great spot for a virtual and thanks for placing it here!
Lovely spot to visit on this glorious May day. While I didnt see any dolphins here I had seen some earlier. 1 seal5 swans3 pelicans5 people fishingTftc Freddo1Regards, kbucky
We arrived here at 5pm and the weather wasnt the best. It was 13 degrees, cold, drizzly, windy but not gale force, perhaps strong breeze - but strong enough to move my hair! No dolphins, swans, pelicans or even fishing people were there when we got there. One fisher did turn up while we were there. The tide was pretty high, so the rocks were covered, but you could see them under the water and the dredge was in dock. We passed it on our way in. Well come back another day, hopefully to give a different report.
It was a beautiful day, sunny with a slight breeze perfect for walking. The tide was going out creating a few ripples on the water. We spotted two lots of froth, one fisherman, over 50 seagulls and inanimate animals as listed.3 dolphin sets x22 pelicans +12 kissing fish x22 stingrays X21 swan However later Tagalong spotted several seals playing at the entrance along with a dredge at work.I didn't realise that the entrance was man made and needed to be dredged regularly. Thanks for that info and the fun here Fredd01
Went for a wonderful fish and chip dinner.Just love a scummy tea, while watching the evening getting darker...As its heading into winter, the nights get colder quicker, so only two fishermen. Who as we finished our dinner stated they was going off to do the same thing as they hadn't been very lucky. We saw a beautiful pelican fly over but only one.
We're heading east to spend time on the South East New South Wales coast with a mate but decided to detour into Lakes Entrance for lunch. This virtual was published after our last visit to the area so it was a must do. The weather was glorious today although a little cool at 15 degrees at around lunchtime. We only saw 1 pelican and no seals or dolphins unfortunately and dodged 4 fishermen. Thanks for find #6144TNLN
Staying in Lakes Entrance for a few days, and with lovely weather, we are enjoying visiting some of the caches. We saw swans and pelicans here today, but yesterday, at the entrance, we watched seals frolicking in the waves, leaping out of the water and through the air to dive back again. It was a great sight, and we stayed for quite a while. Thanks for all your work here, Fredd01, you've done a great service for your fellow geocachers.
We visited and attended to this virtual today and the answers and tasks are below and our appropriate photos have been added. We encountered 7 fishing people 8 pelicansNo dolphins or seals And, the weather was:Cold, windy but dry 10-17 degrees and dont believe its that warm at all!TFTC Task One: At GZ, Take a photo of the very tall sign with the Entrance included in the background and submit this with your "Found It" cache note. Please Note: you do not have to appear in this photo (you can if you would like too) BUT something identifying that it's you MUST e.g. your gps showing GZ or your printed caching name held up in such a way that you can still see the very tall sign with the Entrance in the background etc. AND Task Two: Include a quick weather report and pelican count or dolphin count or seal count. How many people fishing did you have to pass through to get to GZ? 7 fishing people 8 pelicansCold, windy but dry 10-17 degrees and dont believe its that warm at all!
Cache # 11244 on 25 Apr 2024Decided to take advantage of the ANZAC day holiday and make a long weekend of it - added a road trip with Bobl27 to the mix and all is set for a fun few days. We are travelling from home in the ACT to Victoria via Cooma and then doing a relaxed loop to Melbourne picking up a few caches and counties along the way. And then straight up the Hume home! No tricky DTs or long walks this trip. This cache: a late afternoon visit to Lakes Entrance for a bite to eat and a cache! Surprised at the number of fishing vessels tied up at the docks. Photo attached. Report follows: Seals: none sightedDolphins: none sightedPelicans: 2 sighted near posted coordinates but a dozen more around the corner. Weather: breezy and cool! The water at the entrance was very rough! Thank you Fredd01 for the cache and the fun!
I came here awhile ago and for some reason forgot to do the second task. Not sure why. Anyway, today is a amazing blue sky day. No dolphins or fisherman but plenty of swans, seagulls, boats and a great amount of tourists.
Came by Lakes entrance as a night stay on my trip from Sydney to Melbourne. Mostly looking to see new things and chase other ALs and caches. Well this is a nice place TFTC!
We are visiting from Canada and driving through SE Australia. Stopped here today and took the photo. It is sunny but VERY windy today. We saw 3 fishermen, 3 black swans, 13 pelicans, 0 dolphons or seals. Thanks Fredd01 for bringing us here .TFT
It started bucketing down as we pulled up, hard to see anything out the windscreen but amazingly, there was one kid fixing his fishing rod in the rain. I did see a whole squadron of pelicans in the point across from us and I did spot a seal playing over near the entrance. Caching around on the road trip that encompasses Barrington Tops, Sydney, the Easter Geobash Mega in Canberra then the return via who knows where to homeThanks Fredd01 for contributing to this great game for myself and others to enjoy.
It was raining cats n dogs. No dolphins today but a squadron of pelicans were all there landed on the point. Found on the Mega Capital Geobash coastal loop via Adelaide - Barrington - coast to Mexico City loop. A lot of caches and white line fever was sweated out. Thanks Fredd01 and clear skies from TeamAstro. Cache the planet! Some logs signed as TAD as teamed up with Tenkae and Deanside for additional fun. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Bit of a chilly one today with a breeze blowing so kids complaining of cold. The jetty we passed was covered with fisherman but between car and here just one fisherman. As we stand here... one drone, but no other wildlife to be immediately seen. We did however see a seal kill and eat a fish just around the corner. Thanks
On a road trip to attend Capital Geobash Mega and see many different sights along the way. Today we had a big day walking and taking in some lovely areas. We visited GZ and spent some time just watching. This morning, there were 5 fishermen, lots of pelicans across the shore, and it was 18 degrees. We watched one fisherman who had a unique casting and retrieving style. It was fun to watch. Later in the day we got to see the virtual from the other side of the entrance. Fredd01 for creating for us all to enjoy. ...................................................Are you ready to nominate in the **2023 Victorian Cache of the Year Awards**? Balmy 27 today, blue sky and sunny. Light breeze. 6 pelicans and 3 black swans, 1 fisherman fighting off the seagulls.
Oh wow wat an amazing spot. We are here from Holland visiting Australia and our Australian family showed us this beautiful spot early in de morning when we are buying fresh fish. Spotted one pelikan at the fishing boots were we went to buy fish. It will be a hot day today
TFTVC. What a lovely place to come and visit. We are staying up the road for 10 days. The sun was shining with a slight breeze, my hat stayed on my head. There were 4 fishermen, 0 dolphins or seals, at least 19 black swans, 0 crabs but I would have loved a feed of the mussels. A favourite from me.
Lovely place to be. Always enjoy a sit at Bullock island. 3 Swans. 2 fisherman. 0 dolphins and seals. Weather's mild breeze and sun
Still road tripping the east and caching too with Jack and Purrfect Di. Photo attached to show we came here.Warm day - sunny most of it - Only a couple of fishers nearby and a swan or two - saw some seals earlier at the entrance itself. Mr Whippy came along - yum. Thank you Fredd01 for this cache hide and ongoing care and maintenance ---------------- ----------------------In a dangerous world filled with rusty old mint tins and solid caches falling from trees - - - a cache a day keeps us agile... sort of --------Caches are logged using the resources of gsak, garmin, and androids, occasionally AI too! (And a little rubber stamp ) Work gets in the way - and some may take longer to log than others due to mixed technology and need for sleep! The skill and talent of some Zenior Zombies helps, and maybe a spot of luck too [:o)]----------Cache carefully and make sure Travel Bugs are the Only bugs you share and pass on Clean as you go and cache the countryside Big thanks to those placing quality caches out and about around our country areas, in nice safe places and containers especially! - it keeps our game fun for all Of course we do appreciate if you actually did read all this extra addition to the log word count! There's a challenge somewhere out there, or so we've been told! You win a virtual smiley for the effort and getting to the end of the log Maybe if I worked out where it is I could do it and go back to normal logs again ! If you find the challenge let me know and perhaps we can put an end to these long logs !!! Maybe not though - as someone actually did read to the end and alerted me to just a project GC badge that requires long logs [:o)] Well at least it's not as bad as finding a mint tin! Did you get that... stop putting out rusty mint tins, just stop it, now!!! C'est fini... For now... ... until tomorrow! Viva Mexicana ! Beautiful day for checking out the water. what can we see??? One fisherman with five rods. Two cyclists. Four seagulls. many a scuttling crab, and a partridge in a pear tree. Many thanks Fredd01 for providing this game piece for our enjoyment. And thanks for sharing the highlights of your region .

Found by The Empire + HThe sun hung high in the sky, casting a warm glow over the asphalt as we embarked on another road trip, this time setting our compass towards the coastal gem of Merimbula, NSW. Summer was the perfect companion for our journey, promising sun-kissed landscapes and a wealth of new discoveries along the way.Our first pitstop on this adventure was Lakes Entrance, a tranquil coastal town nestled at the entrance of the Gippsland Lakes. The scent of brine hung in the air as we stepped onto the jetty, a bustling hub where fishermen cast their lines and the rhythmic clatter of crab nets echoed in harmony with the lapping waves. The Entrance, where the lakes met the Southern Ocean, was a convergence of worldsa place where nature and human activity danced in a delicate choreography.Weather: Sunny but a little windyPelicans: 2Dolphins: 0Seals: 0Crabs: 1,000How many people fishing did you have to pass through to get to GZ? 20ish!Thanks for the virtual cache Fredd01, favourite point added!-MVirtual #221

Up bright and early on the great vic this morning. A handful of fishermen out and about but no seals or dolphins. There was a group of pelicans on the other side of the rip looking to compete with the fishers. Nice weather today, hopefully good for a ride too
Found with Sharanyaexpress on our drive to Melbourne from Tathra. After a wet drive down it was nice to see some sunshine. It was around 24 with a light breeze. Sadly we saw no dolphins, seals nor pelicans. We had a picnic and were swarmed by flies but still had a lovely time. Thanks for the virtual.

Together with Travelser I'm going Down Under. We are driving around with a motorhome. Started on the 17th September in Cairns. Our plan is driving.along the eastcoast down. Then in the south on to Adelaide and from there ending the 31th October in Alice Springs.During our trip we of course search for several caches. Most of them brought us to very nice spots, like this one. There were several pelicans on the beach at the othere side of the water and during our stay 5 fly in front of us!!All the CO's, and in this case Fredd01, thanks for bringing us here and give our trip a special accent.
On my roundtrip along Australia with Oopie we are douing always some caches.Today we ware on the way to Melbourne and we make a stop in Lake Entrance.Sitting in on a pictic table in a very windy and cloudy afternoon i saw one fisscherman and 5 pelicans flighing nearby. On the other side of the lake there a few more to see.COs thanks for bringing us on this nice place and making this cache.
Found by Mary and David at 13:20. A great view of The Entrance from here. No pelicans, dolphins or seals today. One fisherman, two black swans and countless seagulls. Fine weather, but the cold wind was keeping the muggles away. Our thanks to Fredd01.
Beautiful sunny day although there is a slight chilly breeze. I saw 3 pelicans and there was 1 keen fisherman. Due to the floodwaters the current was running very fast. We didnt see any dolphins or seals. Tftc.

Day 2. A last minute plan had been hatched to make my way to QOGM. Very little planning had been done but a very rough outline was in place and it was going to be a day by day trip.
Staying in Bairnsdale overnight it was time to explore nearby before heading over the border.
Blue sky, great weather, 5 pelicans, zero dolphins and a handful of people fishing with no obvious signs of any catches.
Thanks Fredd01 for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy.

We have now finished our Father's Day weekend away and starting to head home. However cache leave without finishing and collecting the last of the Lakes Entrance geocaches. Only these 2 left.
Great views of the Entrance, however much better sitting at the entrance watching the seals playing in the water.
Only 2 fishermen settin up on this lovely day, sunny, windless day. No seals, dolphins and pelicans but about a dozen black swans.
Thanks for the cache Fredd 01 and for what seems like maintenance ALL the geocaches in Lakes Entrance

We are heading to Canberra to catch up with friends for a couple of days caching and we decided to leave early and take the more scenic route and grab a few caches along the way.
We are mainly concentrating on Ad Labs, virtual's and earth caches as they don't give us muggle problems.
We pulled up here and could see extensive works going on, both onshore and offshore and no sign of a picnic table but we happily spotted the large sign and knew we were in the right place.
Although the sun was out today it was very windy and we only saw 6 fishermen all huddled in the one corner and unfortunately no pelicans or seals. This may have been because of the two barges working not far from gz or they just didn't like the rough seas.
Many thanks for placing this virtual in a very scenic location made better by the rough waters today.

It appears that the roadworks around Bullock Island are nearly complete and that GZ is now accessable. Thanks to OzHockeyChick and Geoturtle37 for the recent messages about the Vera Mill's information plaque. It has been removed during the recent works. I've updated the logging requirements and am hoping these are only a temporaty change. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Vera's plaque make a return.
Please note: logs will be deleted if the logging requirements are not followed.
Happy Caching

Headed out east this weekend to visit some friends. So obviously a bit of caching to be done before and after.
Even though this was disabled, Geoturtle37 and I decided to swing past and check it out. The works are now completed in this section, so we were able to get our photos. Message sent to CO regarding the other requirement.
Thanks for bringing us here by placing this virtual cache, Fredd01

OHC and I were pleased to be able to access where we needed to be. The works here are not yet completed but access was available.
Although it was a little chilly, it was a lovely winters day with beautiful clear waters. Thanks for bringing us to this location.

I'm disabling this one for a few weeks. There are roadworks going on around the area and the main road in is closed. Will enable it as soon as the roads are open.
CaptainVimes and I are on a driving holiday from Melbourne to Canberra this week. It was just started to rain when we arrived so we quickly grabbed what we needed and retreated to the car. Thanks for the fun Fredd01
Filigree Street follows the river one block up the bank from the Patrician's Palace and Widdershins Broad Way at the foot of the Brass Bridge rimward to Cheapside at the foot of the Contract Bridge.
It is best known as the location of The Mended Drum. It is also the location of the Assassins' Guild and School. God Street runs parallel to it, and this leads you round to the forbidding front door and official entrance of the Guild of Fools, Joculators and Mime Artists. Using the direct route via the thin party wall separating the two Guilds is frowned upon and ends in tears, so it is best to take the long walk round

Stood and stared out to Bass Strait and just admired the great day. Thanks for this cache.
A short detour on the way further along the coast. Plenty of people out here today trying their luck. We managed a snapshot with a nice boat. Answers messaged to the CO. TFTC
It's been many moons since I visited Lakes Entrance, so headed down this way for a look... Actually, it looks just as nice as ever.
Poor old Vera! Responses sent to the CO. Any relation to Freddo?
Took a pic of my keys and Tibby pathtag at the picnic table, showing the large sign. Soaked up the sea breeze. Balmy weather but expect it will cool off well before I need to leave the south-east coast.

I had a few choices on what to do and where to go for this long weekend so after a fair bit of deliberation I chose Eastern Victoria.
I headed this way so I could finally finish off the UBD challenge that I started a while ago so I was heading towards Cann River for the night.
Lakes Entrance was very busy this morning and the Main Street was packed with people.
I was lucky to part right near this as the carpark had quite a few cars in it so I took the required pic then went in search of the plaque.
I soon found Vera and I hope she had a wonderful life down in this beautiful part of Victoria.
I also called in at the fish co-op to grab some prawns and Oysters for tea on the way out.
Thanks Fredd01 TFTVC.
