Gorgeous day on the bay. I was struggling with hot spot issues so cherry picked a few caches rather than enjoy a full day of caching. Quite frustrating but it was nice just to be out. Found the info and have sent the answers to the CO. Thanks!
*5 Nov 2024, Found @7:19PM, Find # 3994.*A nice night to get out and find a few as I work my way towards my next milestone. There were many people out and about tonight enjoying this beautiful weather. A snapper or two was caught but not by me. Thanks for this fun virtual and another smiley added to my total. **Thanks to mazza-g for placing this cache.**
The weather was perfect today for a stroll around the foreshore and along the pier. It wasn't quite summer heat but that didn't stop plenty of people enjoying the beach, with plenty swimming and other having picnics. I wandered to the end of the pier with people fishing mainly on the northern side, which provided a good wide berth to GZ. Thanks to mazza-g for bringing me to this lovely location and for this Virtual Cache. Logging with permission.
High tide on sunset made for many fishermen to negotiate for getting the info. Great spot. Thanks to mazza-g for the fun and the adventure.
Answers sent to the cache owner for review and approval. Nice location on a lovely day.Cleaning up Victoria with gridge98. We are on a mission this week. Completing twenty finds in Mexican local government areas is the challenge. Another find with the correct criteria. It is in Victoria and we have not accumalated twenty finds in this local government area.Today was the day to find this cache. Today is Woden's day the sixteenth day of the octavus month of the Roman calendar in the wonderful year of twenty twenty four. We found your cache container and added some inky stuff to the paper sheet or note pad you have supplied for a log book or scroll. The cache container and log book or scroll were in good condition. It was a bit windy today. It was so windy today. With the log signed and the cache replaced it was time to leave. Onwards to the next cache. Woot, that is not to far.I would like to show my respect and acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land, and their continuing connection to it. I wish to pay my respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures; and to Elders past, present and emerging.I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count and winning that one hundred word diamond badge again. Somebody moved the goal posts. So many caches to find. So many caches to log. We find them, sign them and replace them. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. A lovely walk out here today to the end of the pier after donating $6 to the local council for parking. So many people finishing. Travelling around Victoria with Freddo for a week finding caches as we go. With two challenges on our radar we were in full force. All logs signed with our names or F+g98 for the smaller caches. Thanks for the cache
Takk for flott tur utover p piren Thanks for a great walk out on the pier.. Alot og greetings from Norway
Over the bay in Melbourne for a few days caching we concentrated on multis, labcaches and solved puzzles. The winter weather has been kind to us with sunny skies and no sign of rain. Its clouded over now as the afternoon approaches early evening but it is still good conditions for a walk out on the pier to watch all the nautical activities and watch the sun coming down. Information collected and sent off to the CO as well as various photos taken. Thanks mazza-g for the Virtual placement.
#4401 Third of five finds on a day out and about between Frankston and Mordialloc. TFTC
We certainly didn't pick the best day to do this cache but having been here recently and unable to complete this one, we are back again today. I don't think I have ever shivered so violently. The wind refused to go around and just cut it's way right through me. Was not a wise choice. Photo on Papi4506's log.Pleased to have finally accomplished a smiley here as we have tried so often. Thanks for the cache.
We had a purchase to collect in the area so find ourselves down here again. Unfortunately, once again we only have limited time so took the chance to see if we could beat the wind and make our way to this cache. Wouldn't have wanted to be much lighter as I may have been swimming ashore some distance from here. Thanks for placing this cache and bringing us here.
It was blustery and windy out on the pier, but their were still a lot of Fisher people about...they didn't appear to be caching much. I was all rugged up and holding onto the woollen hat. A lovely stroll would be even better in summer with in hand.
Autumnal Victorian Roadtrip.Day Two: A Myki and the Frankston Line. Weather: still dodgy at times.First cache of the day, a targeted cache. Quite a few fishermen on the jetty, but no trouble getting the required information, and I received a very prompt reply from the CO too. A nice spot to visit, worthy of a cache. Thanks for bringing me here mazza-g.
This is actually a pretty long pier, and a nice day for a walk. There was a team of girls in swimming (perhaps footy players) they were making quite a racket, I bet the water was cold. TFTC
On a business trip Together with a work muggle, I have to make my way to find a cache! It worked! It was already dark when we arrived and an incredible number of anglers were romping around here...but we found all we need, and done! Clever from team Clever & Smart
My muggle friend and her sweet hubby entertained me royally last night so I slept like a log. We headed out this morning to find a few caches. Parking was scarce, so my friend stayed in the car while I power walked out to the end of the pier to get the information needed. It has been sent to the CO. Thank you for the smiley and the fun! The day:Today I continued my month long journey from the U.S. along the east coast of Australia!! The muggle friend I made 6 years ago in Greece who hosted me for my two days in Melbourne took great care of me AND enjoyed getting a few caches with me. We ended the adventure at a lovely winery and then went back to her place for a fabulous duck dinner. I was thoroughly spoiled. Many thanks to all the geocachers who placed and continue to maintain their geocaches for folks like me to find. I know it's not always easy, but know that I appreciate you.
6 months ago, during a frenzy, we said to ourselves "why not going to the mega in Adelaide for the leapday". From scratch we moved on to preparing an 18-day project in Australia. Our objectives are simple, visit a small part of this immense continent while validating a few caches. There are so many caches (impossible to do everything) that we will select. Our plan will allow us to visit Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Mount Gambier and finish in Adelaide for the famous Mega.During our stay we will log PestiHoot for Pestinette and Blackhoot.Today, we visite Melbourne, we walk in the streets guided by the caches. Thanks to the caches we visited, we learn a bit more about australia, because many sites evoke Australian culture and history. Thanks for the cache and the discovery of beautiful or original spots

Out this way on a mission and grabbing as many as I can in the time I am here. Always love a virtual and a nice walk along a pier is always good. Tft. And highlighting a beautiful place
We came for a cache and had lunch at the nearby Bridge Hotel first, then a walk along the pier. Although lovely sunny day it was pretty windy so still a bit chilly. There were lots of ppl out enjoying the sun and I couldnt believe how many fishermen there was on the pier. After retrieving the required answers we headed further down the beach road to Chelsea for some Licorice ice cream. Thanks for getting us out and about on this beautiful day.Answers submitted.
We were finally having a day when neither of us had any life have too's so we decided to head out and do a bit of geocaching and put a bit of normality back in our lives. The weather was very kind to us as well making our walks very enjoyable. To make it even better we found all the caches we looked for today across Ad labs, virtual's, trads, a letterbox and a mystery, quite a mixed bag.We enjoy virtual's quite a bit so this one was certainly on our list. There were a few fishermen trying their luck as we wandered out but none seemed to be over excited about what they had caught so far.Once at gz we collected the required information which we have sent off to the CO.Thanks mazza-g for placing this cache for us to find.
14/01/2024 3:39:00 PMOne of probably a record number of virtuals visited by me today, as I snuck over the eastern side of Victoria to pick up some car parts and grabbed a couple of caches as I headed back westward.Very busy on the pier on a Sunday afternoon. Thanks mazza-gFind recorded using GCDroid and logged using GSAK
Travelled Brighton today to celebrate LetThemEatCache 5 year cacheversary! After an enjoyable catch up, I set off with LeeLee who wanted to tick off Frankston LGA then pick up a few other random caches along the way. What a beautiful day all round. We called past here heading to Frankston and parking was at a premium so decided to pop in on our way back. Heading back it was even busier but we managed a park and walked to the pier. Grabbing some lunch, taking in the sights and the Ad lab too. Answers sent by LeeLeeThanks mazza-g for placing this Virtual Cache to enhance the game board and add to our enjoyment.

This afternoon I set off with spiffy- on an unplanned caching adventure. We slowly made our way down the coast and had some nice fish and chips before an ice cream on the way to the pier. The pier was quite popular today and the answers were located between the fishers.A quick snap before a walk around the carnival and trip home. thanks for sharing this pretty location.
Find 7 of 10 on a milestone-chasing day in Braeside and Mordialloc which was cut short by an injury to one of the participants, leading to an emergency dash back to the car and collection from a random park! Despite the painful injury a good time was had and some classic caches were found. All good, answers to follow.TFTC mazza-g!
1084 for the tribeMelbourne put on some fine weather for the tribe and we enjoyed a number of geocaching adventures this evening while finding a smorgasbord of 7x traditionals, 1x Mystery, 3x AL sites, 2 Virtuals and a Wherigo which had a total of some 750 well earned Favourite points, plus a few more after our visit. So much going on here this lovely evening with a great sunset happening. Bride and groom going for a swim. Fisherpeople hauling in their catches. Families on the beach. A great time to be alive. Thanks for the cache!
Met up with my sister and nephew for a lovely wander along the Mordialloc seaside. Fisheries officers were out in full force, as was the wind. It was a great visit and no one noticed me gathering answers.Thank you mazza-g for the cache.

I had a great day out with my daughters at Mordialloc beach. Thank you mazza-g for Mordialloc Pier virtual.
Wow what a beautiful time to come here and grab this quick virtual for the day as the sun began setting over the beach A lovely peaceful place with the fishermen catching their fish and people having an evening stroll down the pier. Thanks for bringing us here mazza-g!!
We had decided that it was time to take the geo-pooch out and grab a few caches on the way. This looked like a nice loop that would fulfill all requirements so we drove over and parked up nearby.
As the geo-pooch is not allowed here we decided to split up and after arriving at the GZ I set about gathering the info. I took a bit of time out to just enjoy the view. Answers have been sent. TFTVC.

Found with sharkiefan.
After a big day yesterday we headed out east again, from Werribee that is. (And I'm very grateful that sharkiefan let me drag her out and about 2 days in a row to help me tick off more LGAs)
Today I managed to tick off, (and this list is in order) Kingston, Frankston, Greater Dandenong, Glen Eira, Bayside, Maroondah and Port Phillip. Finslly completing all LGAs in greater Melbourne area.
Yep a big trip indeed, for both of us.
Seeing as I was up to a milestone find number I, went over the map last night to see what would be a good cache for it and tick off an LGA at the same time. Who can go past a Virtual for that.... now that the list was smaller. What would be a good view, or something different....
Well seeing as I have no ocean /beach / pier close by to home (St.Arnaud) this one stuck out.
It was not a short drive to get to, from Werribee. And , well, we did pass a few odd hundred cached to get here.
It was an awesome day to go for the short walk out on the pier. I'm so glad I picked this one for the big 13000 find.
We were both amazed at how clear the water was an boy the fish were biting too.
We both reckon we will be back in the summer time to go for a swim.
A great Virtual cache to claim my 13000 on. And a great first find in this LGA and for the big day ahead.

"Umm... catnap my Dear, Why are we here?"
"We're here to appear at the point of the pier."
"What's the point to appear at the point of the pier?"
"It appears it's required of a Virtual here."
"But no one is near to observe us here at the point of Mordialoc Pier."
"Take a pic of us here. Stand near. Look sincere, and I will stand here. Now smile my Dear."
Attached to this post is a pic of us here, the pair of us here at the point of the pier.

Catnap wears a hat that doesn't say that.
Catnap sent a post to our host (the CO) of answers to questions with things that we know.

It never ceases to amaze us how many people congregate to piers like this, all over the country, to try their luck on catching a feed.
They lug all their gear to their favourite spot and throw their well baited lines in the water, as seals watch on with humorous looks on their faces.
Well, to be honest, we can think of a few worse things you can do with our time; and then again, we can think of a few better things too .
Thank you mazza-g for a beaut Virtual.

We found this cache today on our Mordialloc to Edithvale Caching Expedition. This was probably not the ideal time to be out here on this pier with wind howling and waves crashing over certain parts of the pier. However, although we have had 127 Virtual Cache finds, we had generically found them on every day of the month except the 8th (danged challenge caches), so this was the one that I had lined up and here we are. So many people also on the pier, either fishing or walking. One family was walking their dog and got right to the end just as the harness slipped off and their was a panic to get it before it went off the edge. (In these turbid waters that would have been the end of that pup for sure). Answered and send the answers, then, on the walk back to the car, once again dodged where the waves were crashing over and got absolutely sandblasted on the bit over the beach. Thanks from D & H B-A
Out and about with echidna44 on a very chilly day. Having just done one close by we decided that we would venture our over the waves. They were really coming in today. Even though it was so windy and cold there were still the die hearts fishing. Answers sent to CO

Apologies for the late log. I used to live in Parkdale when I first moved to Australia so I know this area well. Happened to be passing close by so took the time to take a look at this virtual. No problem collecting the info needed and after submitting to the CO I had permission to log. Many thanks.
A beautiful day for a stroll along the pier. Geoson had the day off school so thought we’d nab this cache as a special thing to do today. Answers sent through to CO. Thanks for this cache!
Bit of a rainy afternoon but not enough to get out to the end of the pier before it got heavier.
Thanks for the virtual.
Thanks for the virtual.
After 4 hectic days at the mega, I thought I'd stay home and rest. But Rick was driving this way, so caught a lift and of course started caching. Dam busy here today . A bloke had lots of fish, been here 4 hours, but said it wasn't a great catch, usually more here
My first visit to this pier for geocaching related purposes was for an AdLab if I recall correctly. The second time was for a waypoint as part of a mystery cache believe it or not, along with a different AdLab waypoint and then this virtual. Quite a sought after location this pier for cache owners! I've been staying at the Quest apartments for two weeks (long story) and there is an awesome painting on the wall of a pier. It's obviously Frankston pier but I'll include it in my log along with me on Mordi pier and see if you can spot the difference! Lol.

I was here early Sunday morning, dropping my son and his mate off to go fishing... seeing as I was here, it would be rude not to do this virtual!
Another visit to breathe more OZONE at almost sea level from far distant higher altitudes although it’s some time since I’ve been to the beach. Happy to be in the burbs of Marvellous Melbs on a monster multi mission that includes a few LGAs. TFTC and the fun!
Busy day out on the pier today. Biked from Brighton while enjoying the weather! TFTC!
I walked along the pier and collected the answers. It was fairly blustery today. There were a lot of people fishing, but not catching much. The photo is of my backpack.
This area is a dog free zone. And we got pinged by the Ranger. What a backward place. Won’t be back.

Out bike riding on this perfect warm but cloudy day.
Arriving at the Mordy Pier where in the 1960’s we used to spend many teenage summer days “ bombing off the pier”.

Chook was down in Melbourne for a couple of days to visit friends and rellies. Our philosophy is 'make the best use of fuel spent', so some caching was also on the agenda in between. Picked up Chook's son LazyAde and spent an hour or so in the Mordialloc area before we had to move on down to Frankston. Loved walking along the Pier today - the weather was absolutely perfect. Lots of people fishing, but not a lot of catching observed. Great location for a virtual. Thank you for placing yours here mazza-g.
Was a relatively quiet day today and a bit windy on pier, have always enjoyed a walk to the end of piers TFTC
I have taken a while to get around to sending my answers for this cache and to logging it. There was some construction work going on near the pier and at first i thought i would not be able to reach it. Luckily i looked a little further and realized that there is public access from the north. I had a lovely walk out the pier on a cool evening, chatted to a couple of fishermen and just enjoyed being at the coast. Ive added a bit of a dodgy photo because i forgot to take a better one. Thanks for showing me.
Work arranged itself rather nicely last week giving me a period of six days off. I spent a bit of time working out which direction i wanted to head for caching fun and decided to have another go at Melbourne and the surrounding suburbs. I then took quite a while coming up with a list of caches to target, there are just so many possibilities! I packed, had accommodation sorted, and even had a muggle caching buddy lined up to do the driving. Perfect!
Too perfect... . Plans changed at the last minute and i went down to the city solo and without the accommodation option. I wasnt sure if i would keep the rest of the plan or head for the hills instead. I ended up heading home on the morning of the fifth day. I had somehow managed to hurt my back and it just kept getting worse as i went on. A bit of a fraught trip but i still had a lovely time visiting lots of terrific caches.

Didn’t see that I had to take a photo at the end of the pier, as I wanted to log the cache in the shade. Pic is from the other end of the pier.

We were down in Melbourne on a business trip and after arriving at the hotel a little earlier than expected, we had a quick look at the closest cache next to the ocean. This one popped up and we decided to brave the cool windy weather to find a couple of caches. We enjoyed the walk down the pier and even witnessed a couple of fishermen reeling in some fishes. Thanks for creating this virtual for us to find.

After a yummy breakfast celebrating a milestone birthday for Earthbound Chief, Steve & I headed down to the pier. Weather was perfect with many people out enjoying themselves, including heaps of boats, fishermen and we also crossed paths with another cacher along the way.
Information gathered, we took some time enjoying our surroundings before we made our way to our next targeted cache.
Thank you mazza-g for the opportunity to visit this area again. A very enjoyable Virtual.

I needed to find a Virtual Cache today to assist me to qualify for a challenge cache and being in attendance at EBC's event near by, this cache was the logical choice.
I walked to the end of the pier ducking and weaving my way through a gauntlet of fishing rods and lines, found the required information, took two photos, then ran the gauntlet on my way back to the event.
**Thank-you to mazza-g for placing this geocache**

I was down this way to attend Earthbound Chiefs birthday event and checked the map and noticed a Virtual cache nearby.
Melbourne has finally turned on some beautiful weather for the weekend and there were plenty of people out and about enjoying the sunshine.
So after the event it was time for a hobble down along the pier to check it out.
The beautiful weather has bought out plenty of people out for a walk, a ride or even out in their boats with one poor or should I say lucky boater getting towed back by the Coast Guard.
There was also plenty of keen fishermen out at the end of the pier trying to catch maybe tonight’s dinner.
Thanks mazza-g TFTVC.

A lovely stroll to the end of the piers. Lots of fisherman about. Answers sent through.
The sea was so rough that I got wet walking along here. 3 fishermen braved the blustery conditions and didn’t seem to be doing much! Answers sent.
Cheers!

These virtuals are becoming some of my favourite caches. It was an enjoyable stroll to the end of the pier, and while I couldn't go quite to the end, I went as far as possible. I was in the area for a walk to collect a few caches, so it was nice this one could add a few extra metres.

Swung by for this virtual on a drizzly Melbourne day. Took the kids for a walk on the Pier which was way more dramatic than it needed to be thanks to the 2 dramatic toddlers.

Visiting the Mordialloc-Frankston area I had to stop by the pier for a couple of reasons.
One of those was this virtual. A lovely spot in the world. Thanks for the walk out and back.

Visiting Mordiallic from Wangaratta today. A quiet saunter along the Pier to this Virtual location. Answers sent to the CO. We even had some sunshine on our walk back! A few fishermen and others walking to take in the views. #9076 TFTVIRTUAL mazza-g

It seems like we have spent a lot of time out on this pier in recent times.
Most of trips have been focused on the pier itself, but it was good to relax, look up and take in the magnificent surrounding views this time around.
Thanks mazza-g for bringing us back to this beautiful location.
Chiefton!!!

After a couple of DNFs, I thought I should be able to buck the trend with this one. A quick walk to the end of the pier and the answers were recorded and later sent to the CO.
Thanks to Mazza-g for the cache.

Logging with permission - was in the area chasing various D/T’s, and saw this great little adventure waiting to be discovered.
A little vitamin D shot and gentle walk on the pier. Thanks heaps for placing.

We could have picked better weather for a walk to the end of the pier. Nevertheless we collected the required information and forwarded it to the CO. The required photo is included with this log. Thanks mazza-g for the virtual cache.
Beautiful sunny day today. Lunch in Mordialloc at Tommy Ruffs but the little one preferred the lemon to the fish!
After lunch we decided to walk out on the pier in the sun and I realised there was both this Virtual and a stage of the Seaford Wetlands Adventure Lab out here so away we go!
Sadly by the time we reached the end of the pier the sun was gone and it was quite overcast. The photo I took off the end of the pier was of what looked like some kind of sailing event.
Thanks for the cache, and looking forward to more days like this to get out and about!

Found together with Emandel on this beautiful sunny day. Thanks for bringing us here.
After a lovely day out and about with family, I decided to drop by here and walk the pier on my way home, took a few photos as the sun was setting, a few fishermen were hoping to get a few nibbles and the pier was busy with people walking and talking. Was very pleased to hear cheering from the local pubs as I came back to the car and to learn the Pies won by 1 point over the Blues. Phew! That was close!
Here's a pic of the sunsetting at the end of the pier.
