Find number 14566 at 12:05:46pm on Wednesday the 30 October 2024We're on our way to WA Goes Big, travelling from Croydon (Melbourne, Victoria) with a caravan in tow and making a leisurely caching holiday across the Nullarbor and back.Well, WA Goes Big is done for another year and we are on our way home again now, via Perth, Kalgoorlie and the Nullarbor but slowly over the next five weeks SmileToday we're heading from Mildura to Majors Creek near Nagambie via Swan Hill, Kerang and Kyabram, from Majors Creek we will just have a short hop home tomorrow. Also grabbing just a few caches along the way. Mr SKI's father often told stories of trying to catch the elusive Murray Cod when he was a boy, occasionally successful but often not. Took the required photo.Answer sent.Today seemed to be a good day for bike riding, so Mrs SKI put together a route that took us through a mixture of sightseeing and caching. And a good day it was as we rode along the river and a number of bike paths seeing the sights and collecting some trads, multis, puzzles a Virtual. We even managed a stop at a bakery for lunch and a coffee.Mrs SKI calculates we rode around 14km for the entire trip. There weren't a lot of muggles about and the sun was shining with a slight breeze.Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Hercs&pinky.**SKI Pair****

Full time Nomads, travelling around Australia since 2014. This is our first visit to Swan Hill and there is sooo much to see and sooo many caches nearby, leaving us spoilt for choice. We headed out early this morning hoping to beat the heat. Very unsuccessful at that and pretty unsuccesful days caching too. Lots of DNF, feeling pretty sad now. Tired, hot and grumpy we gave up just after lunch. We did manage to find this cache. Red FaceAnswer sent TFTC Hercs&pinky [^]

We’ve had a family challenge to take a photo of all the big things on the Gregory’s map with the whole family present. We’ve done all of NSW and the ACT, and a few from VIC and QLD as well. Cross another one off the list, and the kids have decided this is their favourite - even better than the NSW rival cod just up the road (size matters apparently). FP for a fun family memory.

Terrible at fishing, and geocaching as well. Couldn't find the cache but found the cod. Tftf

29-May-23
Driving homeward bound after a great time caching in Mildura with friends.

Youban, Tankengine and I decided to pick up a few caches as we went, but with such a long drive we couldn’t get them all and so saved some for another day.

This cache: Nice find here. Everyone loves taking photos of the big things around Australia. And what better place to have a virtual. Tankengine sent in the answers while we searched for the trad here. Then he came and found the trad as we were looking in the wrong side of the fish. ?? silly swinging phone compass. Love this fish - so colourful! Tftc!!!

#17867 - 2:46:00 PM; Heading over to Mildura via Echuca with the geohoney to wrap up some family business, making a few stops along the way to grab a cache or two as we passed. After a pleasant evening in Echuca, we continued west after spending some time taking in the sights around the Port. Stopped off in Swan hill for a bite to eat and to refuel the geomobile and dropped by the big fish as we were heading out of town. Thought I'd gathered the correct info and sent a message to the CO, only to realise a short time later, I'd read the wrong board! The message was corrected and I soon had the OK from the CO. A fave for bringing us here to check out the whopper! TFTC Hercs&pinky Smile

Big things make the best virtuals, they're so easy to find. In fact, Arthur is the only thing in Swan Hill we know where to find.... it's carved in our minds from a previous DNF on the trad. It was so quiet here this morning there was plenty of parking for our big rig. TFTC Hercs&pinky. FP, we love big things.

We had a fun time at “ Here, Fishy, Fishy, Fishy”
It was good to read the information supplied as we naturally assumed that it was transported here after the Melbourne Commonwealth Games.
So this dear fish as a much more famous evolution
As a movie star!
We loved the Murray Cod information as well. It’s probably Victoria’s mist well known fresh water fish.
