**Total find count: 1423**With some annual leave, the geokids in school, and @Crzymelly off on work training, with magnificent weather, Trads, Multis, Mysteries and Virtuals at my beck and call, what more could one do but go Geocaching in our great city of Sydney.Today brought me to Hans Christian Andersen. I've never here to Observatory Hill, so today was the day to break the drought. After some caches around the Rocks, and before crossing the Harbour Bridge, what better to do then come meet (a bust of) Hans Christian Andersen. The particulars are in my supporting message.
What a stunning to be in this location. Always love visiting here and even better for a cache. Answers sent to CO and pic attached. TFTC!
Tftc. Found on a nice walk from barangaroo to circular quay this morning. Bueatiful view and interesting history on the memorial
I've glanced at this listing whenever I've been planning a trip down to Sydney from the Central Coast but today the stars finally aligned and I was able to visit Observatory Hill and the HCA bust. My mug shot is attached.I grew up in western Sydney and visited Observatory Hill a number of times, but my most recent visit prior to today was attending *The Gre...er, The Amaz...er, The Incredible Race!* geocaching event (GC4VJY2) in January 2014. This was the first event I'd ever attended and was an amazing experience. As for HCA, the story that captured my childhood imagination was *The Emperor's New Clothes*, making me wonder if the same trick could be used to dispense with the dreaded school shoes. I was never game enough to try it, though. My answer to question 3 has been sent to the CO. Many thanks for this enjoyable virtual.
I mentioned in my log that my Great Grandfather emigrated from Denmark and weve always kept in contact with our family there. I grew up with HCAs stories.

Visiting Sydney for four days to attend a conference. In between the schedule when I had free time, I picked up some labs and caches in the city that had cropped up since I was last in town earlier in the year.Came here for the virtual and traditional, and was not disappointed. While I cant tell you a story, I will say that today King Charles is in town, so there have been choppers flying over the city. Great view from up here! Cheers Aussiebrian!
First day in Sydney, the goal for today is to explore the city center and the botanic gardens with of course a few caches along the way Tftc ! Greetings from France
Four ladies from Sweden (Tigertassen, ursus67, Lnganfans, pidjas) are visiting Australia. This day we took a long walk, more than 20 km. We mostly log as TULP.This was one of the places we visited. Very nice view.My favourite story is "Flickan med svavelstickorna" although it is very sad.A big thank you to the CO for this cache.
Hlsningar frn Sverige, sdra Lappland Then it was time for a little adventure. The trip goes to Sydney in Australia and then on to Christchurch and Dunedin in New Zealand .On the trip are, Tigertassen, myself, ursus67, Lnganfans and Pidjas go, which means that we log under the common name "Tulp". The idea is that before we go home we should have visited a Megaevent, Geo Toroa. Greetings from Sweden, southern Lapland
Tnkte p Flickan med svavelstickorna Som r riktigt sorglig Har rknat stenarnaWe are four ladies from Sweden who are visiting Australia and New Zeeland We are logged as TULP This was one of the caches we found Thanks from Sweden
Four Swedish ladies walking around in Sydney looking for caches. We found HCA and one of his stories I like is " Flickan med svavelstickorna". A sad storie. Thank you for meeting HCA in Sydney.
Today I was here for an orienteering event called the Sydney City Race. It was a good opportunity to visit some caches in the area. Thanks for providing this cache in such a lovely location. Answer to the question has been sent. And we all lived happily ever after.
We spend a few days in Sydney and enjoy the city with its unique sights, buildings and parks. We also search for and create caches, virtual and lab caches. This takes us to places we would not have visited otherwise. The caches are in very good condition and the hints helpful and they were all dry and there was still enough space for the next cachers. Of the fairy tales, I like the story of the ugly duckling that turns into a beautiful, proud swan. This shows us that beauty is always a matter of opinion. Many thanks and greetings from the Moorhelmi
Headed into town for a bit of caching in the city today with ilook4geo. There were lots of people on walking tours. This point gave a good view and interesting info on HCA. Thanks for bringing us here go to Aussiebrian.
Did our own walk in Sydney with goingplaces2 and visitied HCA along the way. We have not been here before and enjoyed the views. Answer sent to CO and approval received. TFTC.
I havent read a Hans Christian Anderson story, dad said he will find one for me to read when we get home.Vidi, Vici. Answers sent by bfmc
Hi Aussiebrian, We found your 1.5 1.5 Virtual Virtual HCA looks over Sydney - Virtual Reward 3.0 on 23/9/2024.Find 3130 for BFMC.A school holiday road trip to Sydney for a bit of a break. Targeting unfound virtuals for this trip and whatever else we come across that we can sneak off and find given we have a mix of cachers and non cachers. After meeting a couple of new cacher friends at the nearby trad, we headed over here as a group, chatted away for a bit and ticked off the requirements. Thanks for the nice virtual placement. As a child I always found the Emperors New clothes a highly entertaining story.
West Oz geocacher in Sydney for a couple of days and today was a perfect day to explore this virtual cache. Enjoyable & educational. Answers sent to the CO. Thanks @Aussiebrian for establishing HCA looks over Sydney - Virtual Reward 3.0 for the GC community to enjoy !!
Fun virtual cache. Thanks for bringing me here. I love the hike to get here.TFTC from South Carolina USA.
Andersen was calmly looking towards north and people tried to protect their picnic rations from the gusty winds. My favourite fairy tale from H.C. Andersen is the Little Match Girl, a combination of sadness and joy. Answer sent to CO, Tftc!
Thanks for this great Virtual. I love this part of Sydney - the view is amazing. And I learnt some more history. Had to dodge the sprinkler today. A fave from me.
Cache n. 3586Another day of our holiday in Sydney and we had another fantastic walk with some caches. Quick find and greetings from the Czech Republic. Very nice park and view on the bridge. I think that HCA is fairly well known in our country and region. I know him well because of his famous fairy taile "The Little Mermaid". Thank you for the cache.
Out for caching in Sydney at night. Came to the Observatory hill for caching and was surprised to find a statue of Hans Christian Andersen here. His stories and fairy tales were part of my childhood. So it was nice to get remembered to it.TFTC
The view up here is amazing and different from the usual views of Sydney Dont have any specific HCA memories but Im sure we would have read them to the kids without knowing their origin Cheers Steveo
What a great spot for a VC! Really enjoyed this spot, no one around this morning which meant we had a nice peaceful time here enjoying the view and sunshine. TFTC and a fav point from us.
I came up to Observatory Hill with TravelDragon99 for the views and was impressed by the enormous Ficus (?) trees. Got a picture with HCA while (mostly) dodging a sprinkler. Answers sent. TFTVC
A new day of caching in Sydney were we found another number of caches. With help from the clear hints, it was never a problem to find them.We enjoyed the hike through The Rocks and Barangaroo and all the information we learned through these caches.Team Mavos - Albert and Maria
Originally from The Netherlands, the writer and stories are familiar to me. Tonight may be the last night in Sydney if my life, since our family will move back to The Netherlands. Nice view for HCA from here, tftc!
#7669Believe it or not, this is my first visit to Observatory Hill. Was lured here by the nearby Cosmic Quest event - ET Phone Home. If HCA had observed those shenanigans, he would have had another best seller on his hands.TFTV Aussiebrian
Walked over here with CreativeChookie from the nearby ET event on a sunny midday. I always like the sad story of the Little Match Girl and am guided even today by The Emperors New Clothes. Thanks for reminding me! TFTVC Cheers Gaztek
Channeling aliens from the bandstand with geospouse Gatherer Hade and other aliens on Observatory Hill. The Ugly Duckling was on an LP I had as a child; tftc
Tftc. I visited the observatory, liked it very much and had a nice little talk with one of the guides about the telescopes, the light pollution of Sydney, the aurora and the actual falling stars, the Perseides.I like most Des Kaisers neue Kleider.
Reperio 12:31Day 3 of our 5 day visit to Sydney for a nursing conference, and my muggle friend and I took some time away from proceedings to explore the city and find some caches. Walking around the city gave us a good chance to visit some of the less known locations in the inner city, including virtuals like this one. Would never have probably seen it otherwise.Gratias AussiebrianAs a well spent day brings happy sleep, a well spent life brings happy death - LDV
Found on a big walk around Sydney whilst in town for professional development and a work function in Kings Cross the day (and night) before. Love the theme for this virtual and what an incredible spot to sit and enjoy the view on a blue sunny day, I sat on the bench for a lot 15 minutes practicing mindfulness and relaxing. I last came here about 10 years ago to use the telescopes at the Observatory, today my memories of my visit will revolve around the lovely views and that whilst doing this virtual, my friend announced to me that she was engaged, which was amazing news to hear. Answers sent via message. TFTC!
Found on the dark and counted. Its dark and Im concerned about possums so am making my visit brief. Great view. Thanks.

Greetings from WalesStaying close by on our Australia tour so we took a wander around The Rocks, an Opera house tour, a walk along to McQuaries Point and then to the Hyde Park Barracks. A few caches found as well.A stunning view from here so we'll worth the climb up albeit a bit smaller than the hills at home. Answers sent to the CO so hope it's OK. Thanks for the Virtual.
I am sailing to Singapore later today, but I had time to find a few caches. A great view of the Harbour Bridge here. It was getting a bit tiresome though heaving a heavy backpack around, until we were allowed to board. And then over two hours of queuing to board. Now the Hans Christian Anderson answer. The Ugly Duckling. As a child I had a record with a song about this, so this is always the story that comes to mind, with the tune, when I hear Hans Christian Anderson.https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=nDZOJVR8e6MTFTC Aussiebrian.
Spending some time in city on a sunny but chilly and windy Saturday, we went for this cache.Being of Scandinavian heritage, this author had always been part of our life as kids. Many of his stories had been read as bedtime stories for us.Picture attached, and answer to question sent to the CO.
Amazing view, as we arrived there looked to be an Asian Wedding with lots of red roses and a rose heart background with a violinist playing. Not something you expect to see. I always loved "The Emperor's new clothes" growing up, as an adult I recognise the message now. TFTC
Well it's about time I log this virtual in such an epic location. I sent off and received answers late October last year so its certainly been awhile. Of course I have been back up here a few times once I had discovered it existed and it's been a treasure to come to and marvel at the views every time.My photos are after dark. Thanks aussiebrian for creating a virtual here honouring both the amazing location and an outstanding author. Also, congratulations on winning a virtual reward!
I enjoyed my visit up here with a great view over the harbour. There was a wedding happening in the rotunda and lots of people relaxing on the grass. My favourite Hans Christian Andersen story would have to be the Emperors New Clothes. Even though it was written 200 years ago its still very relevant today !!TFTC !
I will always remember this one. I took the obligatory photo and walked over to the rotunda, about 100 metres away and went to get out my phone and consult google maps. No phone !! Went back to the statue and searched and searched including a nearby tree I had sat down on. To find my phone I need the app on the phone or a PC. Thinking it must be close I went over to two ladies sitting on a bench and asked them to ring my number, they kindly did, and there was a loud ring in my backpack coming from one of those little obscure side pockets. All good. I did like Hans Christian Andersen about 60 years ago and I did visit his house about 40 years ago. TFTC.
On my last full day in Australia, I decided to see how many caches I could pick up. This was cache 6/15. This was a great location to visit, and I stopped in to visit the Observatory after.
During our summer vacation in 1991, my wife and I were on vacation in Denmark. You can find traces of HCA in many places there.Today the meadow up here was full of schoolchildren and their teachers. So I was able to solve this virtual cache immediately, but had to wait a little longer for the physical cache up here.TFTCDon Paul
My parents read almost all of Mr Andersen fairy tales for me when I was a child. My favorite is The Little Mermaid. Many greetings from Sweden
I thought the view from here was great, but wasn't impressed with asbestos warnings. Hans Christian Andersen wrote a lot of stories that were part of my childhood reading. To this day I refer to The Princess and the Pea when I have the tiniest pebble in my shoe. That story didn't make sense when I was a kid but now I consider it to be brilliant. The answer was sent to the CO.Thank you for the smiley and the fun!The day:I was visiting from the U.S. and had just completed my goal of driving all the way up the east coast starting in Melbourne and ending in Port Douglas over a few weeks. I arrived in Sydney five days ago as the last stop before heading home. I was sad that my adventure was coming to an end, but I was looking forward to spending one more day exploring Sydney before leaving. I walked a lot of steps, found a lot of caches, and was particularly happy to finish the cache I started in the pouring down rain. It was a fabulous final day ending with some amazing ramen at Gumshara in Chinatown. I'll miss Australia when I leave tomorrow. Many thanks to all the geocachers who placed and continue to maintain their geocaches for folks like me to find. I know it's not always easy, but I do appreciate you.
Tftc, spent the day at Barangaroo with the wife, who posed for the log photo. After we had lunch we made our way up to Observatory Hill. Have lived in Sydney for 41 years and never been here! The area was full of 'influencers' all taking photos of the lovely view.
The extended Crooked Clan are enjoying a weekend visiting Sydney. Arriving yesterday, we had a great day, finishing the day with a Hoodoo Guru's concert at "Meatstock" festival out at Homebush. The Guru's still rip! This morning, whilst the rest of the crew are getting some breakfast and doing the touristy stuff around Circular Quay, I snuck away to grab some caches.I jumped off the light rail and took a rainy walking tour through the CBD, Circular Quay. I finally made my way to Observatory Hill and this virtual cache. The rain was quite heavy during my visit, so I didn't take too much time to reflect on Han's statue and this cache. it did occur to me that the newly crowned Queen Mary is probably living a fairy tale life a la HCA. I was also very thankful that I didn't have to count the inner stones to the paved area - only the outer ones! Answers sent. Many thanks AussieBrian Pete#7,831
My visit here was cold and rainy, could have been better. But we are geocachers, we don't care about this I liked many of HCAs stories, I don't have a favourite one.By the way, the little mermaid, I was surprised seeing her in Yeouido-Park in Seoul, Korea. Didn't know, the Danes gave her to the Koreans for some years.Tftc, Christian.
?? Yesterday Laura and I flew from Melbourne and arrived incredibly smoothly to Sydney, our first time in the big city. We slept well and long, and woke up with a needing desire to explore the city. We had just this one full day to explore the city before we head out tomorrow, so we knew we had to make it count. We regained our goodness after a DNF in Hyde Park and continued through the city, making a stop at this lookout point which gave us a nice view of the city line. It was a bit of a hassle to figure out which path to take to get towards the observatory and top of the hill, but when we made it up we were glad to get such a unique view! After visiting the nearby traditional, I made my way to the bust and quickly figured out the answers to the necessary questions. I snapped a photo and wrote down my answers (which I lost and then found two months later). I drafted this log at around 1:09 pm, making this our 7119th overall find. Thanks again Aussiebrian for placing and maintaining your HCA looks over Sydney - Virtual Reward 3.0 stash; we were glad to visit it and spice up our Saturday while down under in ????Australia for our spring break, visiting from slightly-distant ????Myanmar! For my own personal statistics; this is the fortieth of 112 geocaches we visited down under while on spring break, excluding the 56 adventure lab caches we visited and 28 Waymarks visited. It was quite a long and exciting day for us, as we walked 21.17km throughout the city while visiting twenty-five stashes just this one day.
As a child, I loved the stories of HCM! My mother told me, that my favourite sentence as a child was: "Mum, could you please tell me a story?" One of my favorites was "The little Mermaid" of HCM.
I had to visit this hill as one of my favourite historic figures was involved in magnetic survey work in Sydney during the C19th. Amazing views of the harbour, it looks like it's going to be a great day! It was funny seeing the asbestos warning signs. After all that rain, I don't think it'll be restricted to the flower beds any more, and indeed a guy was busy extending the fenced off areas.Answers sent, tftc
We are only in Sydney for a few days. We tried to cover a fair bit of caching ground while still just relaxing and seeing the sites. This is certainly a fabulous view - we Canadians had no idea Sydney was so hilly The city is clean and full of history! As a child growing up in the 1960s, we enjoyed Aesop's Fables, Grimm's FairyTales and HCA stories. My favourite was The princess and the Pea. As an adult person, I cross-stitched a picture of Princess and the Pea and gave it to my granddaughter.TFTC!
Fantastic views ! One of the best view of the Harbour Bridge. When I was young I did not like so much stories of Hans Christian Andersen but the things are changing
SM325 and I are on a bucket list trip to New Zealand and Australia. This is our first time here and we are having a blast. We traveled here from Ohio, USA. The scenery has been magnificent! This was a popular spot the day we were here. We had thought about getting it sooner, but SM325's battery in his wheelchair has been running low from all of our running about town. We snagged this today on our way back to the hotel. My favorite Hans Christian Anderson book is definitely Thumbelina! My grandparents gave me the book when I was young. The front cover has a holographic pic on it. A big deal in the 60's! This one gets a favorite point from me! TFTF!
After spending the entire day at the Tarango Zoo, Mrs. Amazing and I headed back to the hotel. This virtual had been calling to us now for three days and we finally took the time to snag it. My electric wheelchair almost ran out of battery power going up the steep lane. Mrs. Amazing pushed from behind the ENTIRE way to ensure I made it. Wow!Arriving at the statue, we found ourselves surrounded by young Asians sitting out on the lawn. This seems to be quite the popular hang out. There was an incredible view of the bay and the Sidney Harbor Bridge. Picture perfect weather! I have never read any Hans Christian Anderson books, so I hope my little story about getting to the statue will be good enough. Mrs. Amazing will send the answers for question three in a day or two. Thanks so much for putting this one out as well as feeding my insatiable addiction! This one definitely gets a favorite point for me.
Visited it during 28-days geotrip to Australia, N.Caledonia, Vanuatu, Fiji, Am.Samoa, Fr.Polynesia with Marci, Ch. Sometimes we logged as "MT" or "Jonea" or "MTCh". Thanks for showing nice caches and places. MT-Jonea from Brno city in Czechia EU. 4FP3
Visiting from the US, specifically Ohio on a grand adventure leading up to the Capital Geobash. Spending the day today exploring Sydney. Started with riding the train to central and then walked towards the harbour and opera house. After a side trip out to cockatoo island explored the quay a bit and then up to the park. It was super busy and we were watching the bats and rats right at downfall as people sat on their blankets and watched sunset. Also witnessed a proposal. Thanks for the cache.
Seeing the statue made me think of my childhood. I can remember us having a book by HCA. I remember it because it was a hard back book, while most of the books we had were soft back.Unfortunately I can't remember the story, but having checked the Wikipedia page, it could possibly have been 'Thumbelina'.
Ended up showing up here with tons of muggles and saw one wedding proposal. I went to a HCA themed mega in Copenhagen last year so it was fun to recount those memories at this statue. Great views from here! Also lots of bats and even a couple rats here this evening. Thanks for the cache!
On holiday in Sydney, caching when we can between attractions. We found the bust quite easily. We really enjoy his story of the princess and the pea, as well as the emperors new clothes. We had a delightful visit to observatory Hill. Thanks for the fun virtual cache!
A lovely sunny day in Sydney. Today to Sydney Tower - a few caches here and there and just walking around. Greetings from Finland Thank you for this cache. My favourite HCA is The Snow Queen. And an interesting thing in this and many other parks at the moment is asbestos
Today raija485 and I did a lot of sight-seeing and at the same time, of course, we did geocaching. We found several caches during the day and this was one of them.My favourite story is The Emperor's New Clothes, in Finnish it is: Keisarin uudet vaatteet. Many stairs, uphills, downhills and my legs are screaming help. Thanks for the cache and greetings from Finland!
Its 6.30pm and the hill below the pavilion is filled with young and old, peaceful this gathering, awaiting the sunsetJust Beautiful to experience an atmosphere of anticipation HCA and my favourites Its the mermaid and the little girl selling the matches, these two stories I remember very well up until today and thats a decent amount of numerous decades when I first read them TftVirtualCache
Wow, what a place. And running into a neighbor (HC Andersen). Really enjoyed it here, we had a wonderful first visit to Australia.Thank you for creating those wonderful caches for us to find and solve.Greetings from Sweden
I am visiting Australia from Canada and today I am wandering around Sydney. It is such a lovely city. I am always looking for oldies and some of the other cool caches nearby. The cachers around here sure are super friendly and helpful. Thanks for the smile.
We had a nice stroll up to Observatory Hill from the circular quay. Lots of stairs. It was a popular spot today, especially in the shade around the HCA statue. Mrs TiEs favourite HCA story is The Ugly Duckling and mine is the Emperors New Clothes. We also ran into another cache here. Good to meet you. Answers sent. Thanks for the hide!
Travelling with stensbye. We are visiting Australia for two weeks and today is our last day here. We have been visiting Aderlaide, Melbourne, Canberra and now we have been two days in Sydney. We had a nice walk in this area. My favourite Hans Christian Andersen story is Den stygge andungen. stensbye sent the answer for both of us. Thank you for this virtuell cache.
Find # 26 820This cache:Answer is sent co, on behalf of eterg and me.About my visit to Sydney, i think my Main Log is sufficient. But, as a Norwegian, we're quite familiar with HC Andersen!.Its too hard to mention one piece, but for me these are the favorites, not in any order...!- "The ugly duckling/den stygge andungen"- "The emperors new clothes/keiserens nye klr"- "The little matchgirl/Piken med svovelstikkene"Maybe the last one is my favorite, even tho so dark that story really is...!Finally, selfie is of course attached!MAIN LOG SATURDAY 9TH MARCH 202411th and last day of our Australia/down under trip! And who are we?We are two Norwegians, from Norway! Doh!,eterg, and my self. Together we are TA = Team Avensis, wich all logs is signed as!Have been marvellous days!, with nice and really warm weather!Thank you aircondition...!! We started from Norway 26th february, to London, then Singapore, and arrived in Adelaide 28th february, around 10:00 am.Got our rental car, and drove to our AirBnB-apartment!Since we had long tour, and our sleep was turned all over, we soon went to sleep. But 2 hours later, we "had" to go, to an event! The day after, there was the Mega-Event on Leap day, and the event after another, and a cache after another, was found, signed and logged. After 5 days in Adeaide, we where heading for Melbourne, where several old caches, and virtuals waited. But since theres so much to do, so many caches to find, we moved on after only half-a-day in Melbourne. So we where heading for the last and final Webcam in Australia, and then som more, before we travelled towards Canberra. In Canberra we had to hours, since we wanted some time in Sydney, at yet a few old caches, like Fryin Pan, Lane Cove(Cave...?), and others.Yesterday we found three caches, since there was 3 hours driving to Fryin Pan, one way,so thats 6 hours forth and back. So, today, i needed to take it really slow!, so we drove to Urban Oasis, and then to the real center of Sydney.Since we had so many days with long drivings, not so much food, or drinks,i wanted to take it really slow, so we did.We parked in a parking-garage, and headed for some Virtuals, some traditionals, and obvius to the Opera-house.We had a lunch in between there, and eterg wanted some coffee, so we found a cafe/restaurantand felt the atmosphere.Took a lot of pictures, before we went for an event. There we met few geocaches, would have thought Sydney was full og Geocachers, but, they wherent here..But, all was nice and welcoming, even here, not only in Adelaide! , and as a bonus we got two multis also. What else?yeah, eterg has filled like 15 gaps in her hidden month calendar.I filled up 4 of 5 gaps in my hidden month calendar! Now i misses only one, june 2000, and that can be found in Ireland, Dublin, Europes first,so that project sees the light in the tunnell!(Yes, i know, if you see the light in the tunnell, that can be a train coming towards you in 100 km/h)Tomorrow we're goin home! First to Shanghai!! 10 hours flight!!, then to Copenhagen, 14 hours flight...!!and finally to Oslo, thats like 1 or 2 hours!Thank you all for everything! For caches!, for events!, Labs!, stories!, places you brought me and showed me!, all new people/geocaches i met!all travelbugs i discovered, or grabbed, or got...!Thank you!

Zmrnuje to stres. Cesta domu bude pekeln, ale u se domu moc tem.I started my last day in Australia and Sydney by taking a ferry to Mosman Bay to get a cache with the necessary attribute. Otherwise, the cache is dead and the logbook is completely wet. Otherwise, the cache is dead and the logbook is completely wet. Until the evening I try to kill time and then I have 2 nights on the way home. It was nice here, but I'm looking forward to going home. Thanks for the geocaches and greetings from the Czech Republic.
TFTC and the stunning view of Lunar Park and the Harbour Bridge from the top of the hill! My fondest memory of Hans Christian Andersen is visiting my late Oma and pulling her personal collection of HCA books from the bookshelf as a child
Visiting from Nova Scotia Canada, cruising around Australia on the Volendam... Sydney is our last stop, great city, TFTC My favorite story is the Ugly Duckilng as I can relate as it took me into my late teens to shine.
**XX** MMMMMMMCMLXXVIII: Our second full day in Sydney. I was up early in the morning for a stroll around the Rocks. Did not expect to find an HCA statue in Sydney. Interesting back story. I grew up hearing and reading HCA stories and have been to The Little Mermaid in Copenhagen. Great views from up here on Observatory Hill. Answer sent. TFTC
GC9P7KD HCA looks over Sydney - Virtual Reward 3.0Spending the day wandering the city and grabbing a few caches along the way before my daughter and friends head off to Tay Tay this arvo. Have been here last Sydney visit but this virtual wasnt here then so I knew what a great view I was going to get. Said hi to HCA did some counting and watched a man sprint up and down the hill numerous times. I was puffed just watching him. I did have to google sesquicentenary. It means 150th. The ugly duckling is one of his classics that still holds true. Some others have dated a little. TFTC Aussiebrian
We have traveled with 36 likeminded geocachers to Australia and New Zealand resulting in lots of opportunities for sightseeing and geocaching. The logbooks were mostly signed under the teamname "Team DownUnder24" and answers were sent to owners for the group, as appropriate. This has been a great trip with a multifold of new impressions and experiences.During our stay in Sydney we had also the opportunity to visit some caches. This cache was also among our finds today. Thanks for leading us here and showing and thanks for the cache.
Heute gehts los, 1. Tag in Sydney. Auf dem Plan sightseeing und caches. Vielen Dank fr das Auslegen und Warten dieses Virtuellen. Greetings from Germany.
It was a little surprising to find a statue of the famous poet in Sydney. After reading the listing of "HCA looks over Sydney " it was clear why it was here. As a child, I read many stories by Hans Christian Andersen. One that I particularly liked was The Emperor's New Clothes. A photo was taken at the statue and the answer was sent to the owner. Thanks Aussiebrian for showing that detail??
Together with 36 other geocachers, the KiSt team undertook a very long trip to Australia ???? and New Zealand ???? for three weeks. On both the outward and return journeys, there was a stopover in Doha, the capital of Qatar ????.We experienced a great deal on this trip and gained many very different impressions of the two countries, their nature and their culture. Of course, the main focus was on visiting as many caches of as many different types as possible and also all accessible old cans. However, we also made sure to visit many special places of interest and to gain as comprehensive an impression as possible of nature and its flora and fauna. To save the logbooks, we usually signed in with our team name **Downunder24**. For "special" cans, however, we have not missed the opportunity to leave our nickname as well. This beautiful cache is now also one of our finds.Due to the large number of caches visited, it is unfortunately not possible for us to write an individual log for each can, which is why we would like to apologize to the owners for this collective log.We also met other cachers at some of the events and were able to share our experiences. Many thanks to the event owners!Of course we would like to thank all the owners for showing us the great locations, the sometimes tricky puzzles, exciting multis and wherigos, as well as the interesting virtuals and earth caches - TFTC!!!---In der Besetzung KiSt unternahmen wir zusammen mit 36 weiteren Geocachern fr drei Wochen eine sehr weite Reise nach Australien ???? und Neuseeland ????.

There was a lot to see and log on my trip through Australia and New Zealand, and this cache was one of them. We were a group of 38 and logged with "Downunder24" to save space in the logbook. Thanks says XenSuo
