Sadly after nearly 6 years and one replacement the secret is out, covert ops have ceased, and the area has been infiltrated by the other side. In parting to amend slightly the quote of a great spy "The actions of a single person with access to the secret 'cache location' has the potential to modify the course of history, i.e. the continuation of the cache. Sad

A women who work in the garden, told me and tried to called other ppl twice to check the geocaching. She told me that was there, but now missing. She saw that three weeks ago

We stopped here to have a fruit ice cream across the road, which we enjoyed as we walked around this lovely garden. Sadly, we couldn't find the cache though. At a bin at the front, there were bags of rubbish, possibly from a garden tidy up, which might explain it. Or I'm blind, which I can't rule out. Either way, no joy today.

Summer Holiday 2024Day #4Spending a couple of days in Stephens Bay and today AlpiSteve and I ventured into Motueka. Quick stop here and after a short walk through the lovely gardens we soon had cache in hand TFTCMake your way to Dunedin for New Zealands next large multi-day event. Thanks for hiding this cache Tregearp I appreciate it. Sadly this is the last geocache find of the day. JDScout will be celebrating . I will not. It took me longer than it should have. The gardens were looking beautiful . There were an array of petunias out and many other that I don't know the name of but admired.

While staying in Nelson, we took the day to go visiting the Abel Tasman Nationalpark. We chose the Split Apple from many interesting places. The way was adventurious but so worth the effort to come to this beautiful place. In our way back to our accomodation, we made a stop in Moteuka for a nice coffee and cake at a european bakery. It was pretty good. Topping the stay here was a nearby letterbox (the statistic is one short for the next reward ).The final Cache today was in Nelson City Center. I chose the virtual "The One Ring" and learnt about the importance of the ringmaker for the Lord of the Rings movies and The Hobbit. I wasn't aware of that before. Thank you to all Cache owners for their effort and passion. Thank you for making the trip much more interesting. TFTC and greetings from Germany aussi96

easy find and beautiful garden! thanks!

I am with Muggle on a three and half week trip to NZ. Nothing serious, just the well trodden track every NZ tourist does who is coming from the other side of the world and has not the chance to come here more often. North Island is done, Auckland Coromandel, Rotorua and Wellington touched. Now we arrived in Picton and transfered to Motueka. Idea was to do a day trip into Abel Tasman NP. Any place nearer the entrance to the NP was already occupied or to expensive for our budget so we stayed at this little village. Everything you need you can get there and even some hidden pearls. I was surprised to find this nice public garden so well hidden within the commercial and private lots. The hiding place was tricky. I was searching the wrong tree. When I finally found the box I was again surprised how this big container could hide so long before I noticed it.Thx for hiding.

First visit back to the SI since early 2020 and doing a road trip loop of the northern parts of the island. Our main stops are Kaikoura, Nelson, Westport and Greymouth with stops along the way to find some caches. Thanks to the COs for placing and maintaining their caches for our enjoyment.

On holiday with busy paws and today we needed a letterbox cache for a challenge. Thanks for this cache Tregearp.

I came down to Mot with my sister to spend a day with one of my dads, whose feeling poorly. We are staying at a local BNB, As I get up at 5am and my dad doesn't till about 8am, my sis and I headed out for a few geocaches. And today is a size regular dot-day, so this cache was top of the list. A nice easy find. Not that I am really working my regular dot-days, as I still have 84 remaining - it will take well over a year to clear them all. but I might as well work it when I can.

It isnt a good idea to be on the wrong side of a tall fence with a locked gate! However, this time it didnt take long to rectify that. We had a lovely walk through the gardens to GZ. I stuck my head in one side of the tree and one of the others did the same on the other side. Typically, I had the wrong side!Day 2 of The Wellingtonians are back tour with TwigNZ, YetiNZ, Mr-Mcgoo. After the last trip, with more caches for us to find, we decided we had to return. And, of course, there will be days of laughter, usually at my expense During our time here, all found caches were signed as NMTY (regardless of whether 2, 3 or all 4 of us hadn't found it previously), or with individual names for Challenge Caches according to whomever was claiming the find.Kia ora rawa atu for the cache TARV2014.

08-Sep-23
Back in June, four Wellingtonians (NZ_B, Mr-Mcgoo, TwigNZ and YetiNZ) came down to visit the Nelson region. We had such a blast that we decided to do it again, and here we are!During our time here, all found caches were signed as NMTY (regardless of whether 2, 3 or all 4 of us hadn't found it previously), or with individual names for Challenge Caches according to whomever was claiming the find, which certainly applied to this cache.Day 2, and having spent 1 night in Takaka we are driving back down to Nelson via Kaiteriteri and Motueka and various stops along the way. By now it was getting on in the afternoon and we were eager to go and grab some dinner in Motueka, but there are always a few caches to grab by the side of the road...Another straightforward park n grab, or at least it would have been had it not been for a locked gate. We got to within 2m of the cache, but had to retreat and try a different approach which came up trumps. Then we had no issues making the find here, and we were soon back on our way again.Thank you for setting this one up.

(# 8174) On a caching trip to the Nelson/Golden Bay area for a repeat trip for the four amigos. Day two of this trip took us from Takaka over the hill to Kaiteriteri, through Motueka and back to Nelson. Tripping with NZ_B, TwigNZ and YetiNZ. Another day full of hilarity with nobody being spared being the butt of the jokes. Signed the log with NMTY. Thanks Tregearp for bringing me here.

08-Sep-23
Some time ago a group of us from Wellington decided that what we should do is come down to the Nelson region for a long weekend of Geocaching. So we did. We had such a good time that just a few months later we decided to do it again. The same team to the same location, with the same agenda. Once again the only real goal for this four day break is exploring, having fun, and finding more of the geocaches in the area

We had a little trouble here in that we tried to approach the cache from the wrong side of a locked gate (and we did not have the key). Once we changed our approach, the cache was found safe and well.

Log was signed N.M.T.Y, for NZ_B, Mr-Mcgoo, TwigNZ, and YetiNZ

Thanks to Tregearp for placing and maintaining this cache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with CO's like this creating them and placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues.

Good place for a picnic here.

On a cache maintenance run, confirming that sadly no TB's are in this cache.

22-Apr-23
We decided on a day trip to Motueka to find numerous caches which have been published since our last trip over there. After having to abort attempts to find several it reminded us why we usually make a Motueka caching trip in the evenings.
We been in here for at least two caches in the past but always enjoy revisiting this place.
A quick find today.
Thank you TARV2014.

22-Apr-23
New placements kept on accumulating and against better judgement we decided to finally make a Mot run. Not that we hate going to Mot, to the contrary. However, it being muggle central after hours is the preferred option. Most finds in Mot are "night caches" and helped greatly in achieving our DGSc. We have no complaints Big Grin
I'm just finishing Dan Brown's Digital Fortress. It's all about keeping things secret. My all time favourite is and has always been Agent 99 though. Holymu has the green fingers so went to GZ in a straight line. Thank you TARV2014

What a great cache. Not what I was expecting to find here. Thanks for letting me in on the secret.

06-Apr-23
On my way home and getting some caches for a challenge. Picked up two TB. Thanks

04-Apr-23
What a beautiful garden, what a nice cache! None of the 3 TB's presently listed was in the cache, unfortunately. So we dropped off 2 TB's, one of them actually starting its journey here.

31-Mar-23
Bit of a big day today, I have to do a drivetest on the Kaiteretere South vodafone site, then a highway drive between Motueka and the Spit. But I intend to grab a couple of minute caches for the South Island 300 minutes challenge.

Second of the day, I solved this last night - this is actually going towards GC1BXCN. 6am, noone around, and managed a very quick find. Nice spot, and a well hidden letterbox. Thanks!

TFTC Tregearp, the cache was found in good order Very Happy Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 2 find(s) of 12 today, making this find #3867

Back in Mot again this morning. A couple of non caching members of the family (that's everyone but me) had some shopping needs they couldn't get over the the hill. This gave me some time to find a few more solved puzzles. A pleasant little park that keeps on giving. TFTC

Taking a drive out to Mot to pick off some AdLabs and solved puzzles.

I think I may have been an early finder of the original incarnation of this Top Secret cache so wondered if it might be of a similar nature this time around.

It was, but I still managed to miss the container on my first two looks. How embarrassing!

Thanks Tregearp

On the way to the Abel NP we stopped here to have a look for this Cache.
And of course what for a beautiful rosegarden. We leave a Favi point here.
Thanks for hidding say the GeoGrillen

#21751. Nice day for a walk in the gardens. The gardener was doing some sort of exercises as we approached (he hadn't seen us coming). He was a few metres from GZ, so Troodles let him know we were looking for a cache, and I soon spotted it. TFTC.

10-Nov-22
Sadly the first Top Secret cache was archived before we got a chance to look for it. Pretty sure we have found a cache here before but it's a beautiful wee park so happy to return.
We were dismayed to see a gardener right by GZ, he was planting out petunias (what a job for a hot day). Decided to go for it, but first tell the gardener what we were upto. He had heard of gecaching before, luckily, so we didn't have to tell him what it was all about.
Cache was quickly located, lovely big container, not often found in an urban area. TFTC.

Thanks for showing this fabulous little garden. Greetings from Finland!

18-Sep-22
Found it

08-Sep-22
I think we have found 2 other caches in these gardens so it was a familiar place for us. The demolition crew next door could not see us retrieve the cache and we sat in the sun while signing the log. This time I came prepared with a few trackables for this bigger cache. tftc

My 2nd find today. I love ammo boxes.

22-Jul-22
We arrived under cover at the very very wet gardens to search in secret. The location (which I almost missed) will be kept confidential! TFTC!!

Top Secret. Oh yes. After getting my translation sorted my dog and I were off on another hunt. Need I say dogs nose not great at this. However translation did the job. Awesome find. Thanks

Top secret - how intriguing! Found the source material just on dark (seemed appropriate). I'm taking Sargent Schulz's stance - "I see nothing! I hear nothing! I know nothing!" I may or may not have left any evidence of my top secret visit. TFTC #18 453

A nice quick find thanks. First for the day.

Ms_KR and I are off on a wee road trip to Nelson. Today we cruised around Motueka, after the morning rain had stopped.

Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Pai rawa te tīwhiri o te kaponga me te tāepa!! Great hint. Having lived in NZ for nearly 40 years, I still am amazed to see busy lizzies growing outside instead of being a house plant. The ginko trees were looking splendid. As an ex nurse I was only concerned with confidentiality. Currently reading Shadow State by Luke Harding where international spies have their own ethics. Tftc

01-May-22
Ah nice to find this great container twice. This time my 5yr old came with, and tried to help look while I headed to the most obvious place to hold a regular. A fun visit, thanks very much

24-Apr-22
A bold hide! And not the first cache I've found here but definitely the bigger. In a previous life I worked for [redacted] and had appropriate clearances and anyone who has done this will know what a massive process it is. It definitely provided interesting work stories. I added my own stamp to the logbook. Thanks Tregearp, a favourite for you and another stamp in my book.

13-Apr-22
Quick find over here. Aiming for a target amount of caches today

10-Apr-22
I've driven by this park many times, but never stopped to 'smell the roses'. Thanks for making me come here.

The enclosed document looked awfully familiar since I have dealt with many documents that were so classified. Let me tell you more. [Redacted]. TFTC.

Lovely morning for a drive to Motueka and back. Not the first cache I've found in these gardens but probably the biggest so far. Coordinates spot on so the cache was quickly found. Thanks for creating a cool letterbox. TFTLBC, Biggles.

Located with Ricardinho ??

Beautiful gardens & RNZ quickly located this one. I snapped a few pics ??

A wee trip out to my home town this morning, always a trip down memory lane when we go caching in Motueka ?? We started with a trip to the market & I snapped up 2 Aubergines for $2 ?? Then dumplings at the market from our fav dumpling shop that has a stall in the market every Sunday, a few targeted caches for RNZ then off to Upper Moutere to Katie Golds studio to buy a house warming gift for RNZ sister & a little something for me....be rude not too!! A lovely few hours out with my favourite cacher ??????

TFTC ??

A quick find on a quiet morning. All in good order. Signed log and replaced as found. Thanks Tregearp for another LBC for my stats Smile.

I think I remember the original Top Secret letterbox. I was tagging along with the Seagnoid and TBD, if my memory serves, on a leap day trying to find lots of different cache types because they give you add ons for your Project GC stats. The things you learn I guess…..
Today was a bit different, just me and RG72. Quick find, hint not needed because the coords were spot on, TFTC Tregearp.

Today we decided to head out to Motueka in the early afternoon after a few chores at home.
On the agenda today was some shopping at the Motueka market, lunch at one of our favourite eateries there, and purchasing a house warming gift for my sister on the way back through Upper Moutere.
There was the small matter of a few caches too. A nice little bag today - some nicely themed trads, a letterbox, a FDF on a new mystery and a multi as well. Thanks all COs, had a great day.

28-Mar-22
The Saint, Joe90, The Man from Uncle, Mission Impossible, The Avengers and Get Smart were very familiar names, but Top Secret was not a name that either of the team recognised. Not that it mattered as the GPS recognised the coordinates and it was a simple find. Always nice to see this sort of container and to add another letterbox to the stats.
The above is the relevant part of the Top Secret log we posted in 2018. Nice area for Take 2 - we found another a few days ago but that was same place different container so nice this kwas different place same container as we do like this sort of container.
Thanks.

Parked the campervan up in town and headed off for a secret mission, on the bike. I didn't even tell mr rattll what I was up to, but I'm pretty sure he knew - the roll of the eyes suggested he knew....
Once near GZ I flicked the two wheel caching mobile into stealth mode and headed for the cache. No problems making the find with no muggles to bother me.
I left a homemade rattll coin.
Thanks for putting this here for me to find

23-Mar-22
Paddle chick and I went out to get a few night caches plus Adventure Lab thank goodness the rain held off nice easy find .Thanks Tregearp

23-Mar-22
Nanzie were put on a top secret mission tonight, target 4 caches to add to my daily total. Found under the cover of darkness. Probably should have trusted the gps a bit on this one assumed it would be in the same place as the last two caches I've found here. Didn't take long to learn the error of my ways. Thanks for placing Tregearp

We were sitting enjoying a coffee up the road when macwatt spied this newish cache. So after a promenade of the main drag, avoiding the rain, we wandered down Gere. The rain had stopped and temperature was rising. Thanks for the placement Tregearp

Overcast old day so very quiet at GZ the area was a tranquil setting soon found the super large container & signed all good at the cache..thanksfor setting this letterbox cache Tregearp

Called by today for a quick find while on my way to Kaiteri. I always enjoy this oasis on the High St. Glad I had the park to myself with all this Top Secret, hush hush stuff.

20-Mar-22
Yep, definitely a great spot for Top Secret material. I very carefully didn't read the material because I didn't fancy the responsibility of keeping it Top Secret. I knew just which part of the gardens we would be heading for and this thinking was confirmed as we studied the plants nearer High Street under the watchful surveillence of a neighbour.
Unfortunately the once well-cared for gardens are looking rather sad, but were still worth a visit.
Thanks for the cache. A favourite.
