georode I found your cache May Challenge - At Night on 21/8/2024, 11:00AM. This is my find 6939 and find # 3 today. Found it, retrieved it, signed it and returned it. redbackspider fulfills challenge May Challenge - At Night (GC9PJ7H) according to https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC9PJ7H/66808. 210224. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN
For some reason I had it in my head that I needed to sign 20 challenge caches for the Challenging July Challenge but I looked it again a few days ago and realised that it is actually 25! So today I headed up north again to sign another 5 challenges that I already qualify for. This was the first challenge find for the day and I thought it would be a quick park and grab but when I arrived at GZ there was no sign of a hiding spot anywhere. A quick check of the attributes and I realised what was needed to obtain the cache. With my name added to the log, I returned the cache and then went for a short walk around the area to find the nearby traditional caches. Thanks for the challenge and the cache placement georode!"Find at least 15 caches in May of any year, which have the 'Recommended at Night' attribute."2022-05-02 GC3HZQP - QX9331 (Traditional Cache)2024-05-04 GC4NBV9 - Cooking with Gas (Traditional Cache)2024-05-13 GC3XN0H - I slipped (Traditional Cache)2024-05-13 GC3XN0Y - Boardwalk (Traditional Cache)2024-05-18 GC42TJ9 - The Muggle King (Traditional Cache)2024-05-21 GC65866 - Enter the Underworld (Traditional Cache)2024-05-21 GC659PH - Exit the Underworld (Traditional Cache)2024-05-22 GC3FH7Y - Dee bing is high (Traditional Cache)2024-05-23 GC28KH1 - Crazy Chook Machine (Traditional Cache)2024-05-23 GC2JTXB - St Paraskevi (Traditional Cache)2024-05-23 GC40M0A - Ante-Google (Unknown Cache)2024-05-25 GC8V78D - The Great Rock Wall of Manly (Traditional Cache)2024-05-26 GC4PE91 - Where Eagles Dare - Hell On Wheels (Traditional Cache)2024-05-28 GC124HQ - Everton Skyline (Traditional Cache)2024-05-29 GC7FYCN - Bond Park - Parks and Recreation Series. According to Project GC, I qualify 17/15 night caches. I have done some fabulous night caches over the years caching. One I remember was night of a thousand eyes. So much fun. Laughed alot. Managed to retrieve the cache. Signed the log and returned to where I found it. Thanks Georode. All good with this cache and challenge.
Signed today while out and about focusing on challenges. Still a bit of work to do to qualify.

The plan for today with Willis007 was to sign challenge caches on the north side. Could just reach with an 8m pole and was a bit tricky to replace. The wire is very rusty and may break through soon. SL.
I missed out on qualifying for April but I got this one done! Thanks for the cache and challenge. Cheers
After 3 years I have finally finished this challenge! I only had 1 cache that fulfilled the requirements when this challenge came out, was able to pick up 11 last May and finally this May I got the last few I needed. Pretty sure I found them all in daylight as Im not the most active night cacherI tend to get too sleepy. Very happy to have this one completed. Thanks for the challenge georodeFind #6043

We spent too much time looking in the wrong tree. As soon as we adjusted our gaze we spotted it. Easy really. Small loops like this make it harder to retrieve and replace but we managed it. One of my geocaching resolutions for this year was to make more of an effort to qualify for a number of incomplete challenge caches. As it happened one of the unfulfilled challenges on my list involved finding other challenge caches in the month of July. I carefully prepared a to-do list of target caches for which I had already qualified, with plans to head out today to pick them off.I found a car parking spot quite close to GZ which gave me a good view of the cache. From the car I could also see that the muggle foot and bike traffic passing by was constant so trying to deploy a fishing pole here without attracting attention was going to be problematic. It was then that another car pulled up next to me and the occupants remained inside. After waiting a while there was no movement from my neighbours so I decided to walk an extended loop to pick up some other caches, hoping that the coast would clear by the time I got back. On my return I found a nice gap in passing traffic and quickly extended my pole to retrieve the cache. Immediately upon signing the logbook a small family of muggles that had been playing on the tennis courts nearby decided to finish up so I had to wait for them to ride past before replacing the cache on to its perch.QUALIFICATION:[seffnjarah](https://www.geocaching.com/profile/?u=seffnjarah) has used [Project-GC](https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC9PJ7H/66808 "Project-GC Challenge Checker") to see if they qualified for this challenge and they did."Find at least 15 caches in May of any year, which have the 'Recommended at Night' attribute." Love a good night cache, and there have been some really great ones around Brisbane. I was still surprised that I had found 15 total, never mind 15 in May, but the checker said yes, and a whopping 34.
Stopped to grab this one on my way to meet IolantheK for a day out at Bribie.

I have enjoyed many nights of geocaching.
There tends to be less muggles to worry about.
Today I arrived in daylight to find the cache. I have tried tree fishing at night, but it adds at least 5 stars of difficulty. Thankfully the beasty was sighted without a hassle. Up went my pole and down came the container.

Well, I have tried hard to ignore this tree fishing phenomenon for quite some time now.
But, like teenage acne, these damn things are popping up everywhere. It is starting to annoy me. All the caches I am chasing for a challenge or some obscure stat are tree fishing caches.
So if you can't beat them, join them. I finally lashed out on the web late one night and some 6 weeks later I am the proud father of 8 metres of chinese carbon fibre. Today, it got its first use in anger.
Quickly spotted this one. I am learning that getting them down is an order of magnitude easier than putting them back. Whilst I made my attempts, I was entertained here by some cockatoos settling down for the night in the hollows in the nearby dead tree.
Back in May, I took the opportunity to grab the few caches needed to qualify for this one. Many thanks, georode

A quick find here and luckily the muggle just passed as we arrived. Cache was quickly to hand signed and returned. In good condition. TFTC
I await these challenges each month to help me decide which caches to target. In this case I only needed two more to qualify so we took a trip to find them and all that was needed after that was finding this cache. Time got away from us and we only made it to sign the log here today, which was fortunate as it meant another cache towards the July challenge. No troubles here with a nice quick sighting and a muggle free retrieval and replacement. Thanks georode

The cache was quickly spotted and any excuse for Peppa to use his pole he did to a retrieval work.
Signed log and back up it went.
I didn’t have the chance this year to complete this one so it’s on the agenda for next year. I only have 1 cache in may, so I have some work to do.

Received a call from Peppa asking if I was up for a play day signing challenge caches in this area. No real plans other than housework (Yuck) so a short road trip from the southside led us to this cache.
As Peppa had already signed this one earlier in the month, it was my turn to be able to sign this challenge. This challenge certainly had us hunting high and low for caches at night (or could be done at night) to be able to qualify for this challenge. Only had 4 to start with, but managed to get over the line with 16!!
Patrol14 used Project-GC to see if they qualify for this challenge and they do.
Thanks georode for another interesting challenge.

I am in Brisbane house sitting for friends for a week or so.
Time to find a few caches while I am in town.
A quick find for me today once I got to GZ.

I am enjoying these monthly challenges… Even though I’ve been slack in attending to the actual caches, the challenges have added another dimension to what I do each month…
At the start of May I had 5 of the required 15… so it meant another list… luckily very few people I cache with automatically qualified so everyone had the same targets…
I had to wait til yesterday for a new pole to arrive (don’t break your pole) before I could venture up here… which actually helps with the July challenge too… Plus, this is such a small thing, I can’t believe I’m going to even mention it, this is also where the new stamp got used for the first time… hello, my name is Peppa and I use a stamp…
Thanks Georode… your Challenges make caching far more entertaining…

Doing a check on challenge caches to see how I go with another particular challenge cache. I think it is called the domino effect. Anyways out walking around looking for this one, I spied it very easily and quickly which was awesome as I just felt like I was being watched from people across the road. When I saw this one come out I knew I qualified straight away but it was only today was it that I had a chance to collect.
Thanks for another cool challenge idea and giving us something to work towards.

Thanks for the challenge and cache georode.
Thanks for the challenge and cache georode.
KerrieMG had the TOTT and a small group of us joined forces to log some challenges after a nearby event.
With two additions in 2022 I have 47 finds that make me qualify for this one.
Parted ways with the rest of the group here and headed home to pack.
Thank you for hiding this geocache georode, without hiders the game wouldn't exist

At the start of May I had 2 of the required 15. By the end of May the count wasn’t much higher.
Maybe next year….

T-Tech and I had very little time to spare today, but were able to squeeze in a couple of geocaches late this afternoon. I have qualified for both May and June so they became our targets.
I spotted this one as we got out of the car, then did the fetching. As we were opening up the container a fellow over the road wandered up saying he'd seen a few people fishing in the tree, and wanted to know why, so we chatted about geocaching TFTC, georode.

I made sure I qualified for this one last month by collecting the last few "At Night" caches I needed before the end of the month.
However, I hadn't read the attributes or hint, so was unaware this was a tree fishing cache until I got to GZ. Left with my tails between my legs as I have not yet invested in that gear.
Back soon, Thanks Georode.

This afternoon, I took the opportunity of heading to Sandgate and Bracken Ridge, with the intention of defeating some monsters and clearing a few recent challenge caches that had accumulated in the area. It was a mix of driveby geocaches and a few walks along the bikeways, whilst avoiding the mosquitoes that were awakening as the light faded.
Light was certainly fading by the time that I arrived at this spot, but the coordinates were very accurate, hence it wasn't long until I spotted the cache. The TOTT went up, and whilst my two hands were busy handling the fishing pole, mosquitoes took the opportunity to have a drink and utilised my exposed skin. Perhaps the "Dangerous creatures" attribute needs to be added to this cache? It didn't take long to make the necessary hook with the cache, and it was brought down to the ground so was able to sign. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. That wire loop sure is rusty, so this cache must have been up there for some time. I found it interesting that a name was missing from the logbook too? It was a little tougher in placing the cache back with limited light, so it was more of a feel than a visual confirmation when the cache was back on its perch. Thanks georode for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.
I used [Project-GC](https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC9PJ7H/66808 "Project-GC Challenge Checker") to see if I qualified for this challenge, and I did. I have found 28 caches in May of any year, which have the 'Recommended at Night' attribute, and required 15.

Normally I let Mrs Woodyrothwell do the tree fishing as I am busted and she has a knack for it. Today she had a busted shoulder so it was up to me to do the honours and I wasn’t doing them well. I was flailing around like a squid that knows it wouldn’t make a good calamari.
I am really loving these monthly challenges because they bring an immediacy back to geocaching. Not since when I started have I felt the need to be out in all sorts of conditions to find a cache. I’ve paddled in the rain and walked in torrential rain to find a qualifying cache. Normally with challenges you can afford to wait because they aren’t going anywhere, but add a time limit and I’m all over that jazz. Waiting a year to qualify feels like 365 days and don’t get me started on how long it would feel if it was a leap year.
After taking forever to get the cache down thankfully it was easier returning it. As we were packing up we noticed a couple turn up on bikes and look into the same tree. They didn’t have a fishing pole with them so Mrs Woodyrothwell sheepishly headed over to see if they were geocachers. It was nice to meet shazzar66 and Duppers and I watched as they effortlessly got the hide down and back up. tftc

Caching with the usual crew, Hatsoff, GrannySmith1947, Snickersallan and RoddyC. Signed log, now have to fulfil the Challenge before I can log a find.
On the darkside today visiting a client. Why not make it a caching day. Aiming at some challenges and some new caches.

Need to work on this challenge. I am a bit concerned about the branch this cache is on. It appears to be very unstable.

Was about to go to dinner and spend quality time with the younger OCjr when this was published yesterday. He approved of a quick diversion so we could attempt FTF but when we were halfway there notification came through that it had been found already we aborted and just went out instead.
Fast forward to today and a new souvenir is on offer (and tree fishing is waaay easier in daylight) so I headed back to claim a smilie. We qualify (just) with 16 of the 15 required night caches in May.
It was easy to locate the cache at the accurate coords, and a breeze to grab with the pole not even at full extension and no tippy toe dancing required. I appreciate a big ring attached to the container, makes it easier to grab and retrieve, many COs seem to forget that important part. But then I remembered that this CO was instrumental in introducing the tree fishing craze from Europe to Brisbane, and it has now spread all over Australia.
I was very surprised at what came next. I opened the container and found a familiar georode signature logbook with georode logo printed on the front. To my astonishment I opened it up and it was blank. Hmm flicked through front to back and then back again to make sure. Definitely no ink, no signatures in there except mine.
I contacted the FTFers and they described a slightly different experience than mine with a cache much higher, and they found a rolled up logsheet instead of a logbook. Not sure what weird anomaly is happening here, but I'm very pleased to be able to claim joint FTF on 1 of 2 different hides!
Find #12654 @ 10:00
Thanks georode for giving us a reason to visit.

The boys and I had been yakking today, then on to a multi waypoint mystery and finally an old multi. We had just arrived home when the notification for this one popped up. I hear two voices say "Bugger!" But l had a better response to the checker so they decided to accompany me and sign anyway. It was a right little bugger to get down but we got it in the end. Signed and replaced as found. Thank you for the challenge {*FTF*}
