Was in the area visiting a show when I thought I'd do a few caches to fill in some gaps to kill some time afterwards. Managed to knock off more than I thought! This was the one of them and it took a short time to get the clues required for the final. Loved the final cache! TNLN. Cheers.
12:36Lunch packed, water on board, ready for our final day of caching with Suscoe before heading back to Victoria. Had lunch in the coaches box.Cleverly themed cache gets a FP.Our thanks to 'bektheraccoon' for adding this cache to the gameboard, easily receiving a FP from us.37875*This log composed and published using Geocaching Swiss Army Knife (GSAK).*
Well another delightful day around Adealide with our good friends Phetlern. We enjoyed this wander and cache finding having a good chat as we went.Again we were impressed with the range of housing styles that we saw and the delightful street trees that adorn this city. The day was mostly fine with a little drizzle around lunch time, a cool breeze that kicked in after the drizzle but before and after that it was pretty good with some sunshine peeping through. Thanks to bektheraccoon for this multi and hide. This was our lunch stop and we say in the little green players boundary side box and enjoyed the view and activities of the grounds staff preparing the wicket for the coming cricket season.A favourite.
I can see why this cache has so many favourites! What a fantastic construction!!TFTC!!FP awarded!
Went for a walk with the owner and geocatdog to pick up this one I had seen photos of but never found. Nice to find after seeing the Hurricanes in action many times.
After getting some jobs done around the house, I thought I would reward myself with a cache. This cache is not far from home and has lots of favourite points. Perfect!Questions answered, numbers collated and checksum verified. After a short walk I arrived at GZ. It didnt take long to spy the hide. Wow. Such a great cache. Very creative and now i know why there are so many favourite points. Now there is one more. Thank you bektheraccoon, for placing Hectorville Hurricanes for the geocaching community.# # #15101 # #
Love this Out for an afternoon targeting high favourite hides. Not too muggley today, Geokid found it TFTC
After some activities in a suburb close by, this one was calling out to me, like the wind in off the ocean. There was a game on at the oval but EVERYONE was watching the game. I found a small fridge magnet and wondered how I would get that apart. I decided I needed to look closer and I found the most amazing cache. This is fantastic work and GD was removed for the quick sign over under the trees. Returned as found. These are the ones you wish you could drop more than one FP. The rules are clear, so I dug deep and grabbed the biggest one from the bag, and bestowing it on this cache.Love your work bektheracoon, FP4U, find #9547 at 3.07pm
Found It!It took me a couple attempts to get the numbers right but once I got to the final location it was a quick find. Another impressive hide!TFTC
Day #6 Leaping Forward AdventuresI made it to Adelaide, finally! Today I teamed up with Posums to tick off some of his missing LGAs and find some local caches. We gathered the details and worked our way to the cache. Thats when we found it! Amazing! A brilliant cache, well hidden and well worth a favourite for the effort. Thanks bektheraccoon for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy. ----------------------------------------------------------The Ballarat GeoTour ends on 4 March 2024! Well after a whirl wind tour of Tasmania to help with 3 challenges that Im working on, I got back in late Tuesday night then packed the Geowagon and headed off to SA early Wednesday morning to attend the Leap Year Mega and to also tick off some LGAs along the way as well.Well after crossing the border the other day and staying in Millicent, Wellington, Cape Jervis, Kingscote and Im now in Adelaide for a week.Well it is the start of Mega week for me and lets see how I go.I met up with Roaming Howie for the day again (he must be a sucker for punishment) and the main target for the day is LGAs for me and anything else on his list.Just touring the suburbs as we go.I noticed this multi and saw the favourites on it and talk Howie into doing it.We found somewhere to park the GeoRanger and off we went in search of it.A nice easy multi to and the coords led us to a great container that a fav goes out to your for.We added our names to the log and now to get to the next one and the next one and the next one. Thanks bektheracoon TFTC.
Quickly solved and located on a hot Monday afternoon. A very unique container haven't seen one like this before. TFTC
Nice easy multi with a clever cache at the end A favourite from us for the effort of the clever cache
The usual Tuesday Trek turned into a Wednesday Evening Wander unfortunately without the Starfish so it was only the dynamic duo that headed for the CBD to see what could be found. This one was a little east of the chosen area but having had a DNF here and knowing it had been replaced it just t had to be added to the list. Parked nice and close and soon had the cache in hand. Some nice work has been done here and will be rewarded with a favourite point. Did some minor maintenance, CO notified, and replaced as found. Thanks to bektheraccoon for placing this cache on our playing field.Cache #14277 for me.*This log composed and published using GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife).*****SAs Leap Year Event GCA1DNA - keep the date free - 29th February 2024. Confused puzzlers changed their Tuesday Trekking to Wednesday evening wander in and around the CBD.Plan A was for ttrogg to pick up the Rat and then proceed t North Adelaide to met up with the Starfish. The Starfish rang, and had to cancel his plans for the evening frolics.Plan B Ttrogg picked up the Rat and we headed for the CBD.We parked the geomobile and wandered over to the cache. We quickly located the cache, stamped the logbook and replaced as found.Saw this one was back in play, we are happy to turn a frown into a smile on the map.A fave point awarded for the effort of the cache.Really enjoyed finding this cache. Tftc
The replacement is pretty much ready - Ive just glued the magnets on (spoiler!). Once that and the waterproofing have dried Ill confirm its available. Likely in the next day or two
To be fair I was only notified of a problem 2 months agoIm making progress on the replacement (its a creative cache which takes several hours to build) and will confirm on here once its ready to go again.
The original still hasn't surfaced, but I'm making progress on the replacement. Need a little while yet to get it finished, stay tuned folks
Im still working on the replacement cache, hope to have it back up soon I also contacted the club so they could keep any eye out in case the original cache surfaces.
Rode past GZ this morning to have a look and unfortunately no sign of the cache. I've reached out to the club to see if it's been handed in and in the meantime I'll work on making a replacement cache (it'll take me a few weeks, the original cache took several hours to make).
Another Tuesday Trekking was changed to a Wednesday Wander.
Ttrogg picked up the Rat from the Rat's Nest.
The dynamic duo headed out for a day of caching.
It was a lovely warm and sunny day.
We came gathered our info, did the calcs.
But all we found at GZ was a magnet.
We will return.

I headed out to the eastern suburbs for a few caches of interest this morning, including this one.
The required information was collected and final coordinates calculated without any difficulty, then it was off to GZ for a quick find.
Thanks bektheraccoon for the cache.

Today I was supposed to be going to Clare but was way too tired so changed that plan. Went into work for a bit to try and catch up a bit and then headed to north eastern burbs for some caching.
Enjoyable afternoon out despite having an awful headache.

I’ve taken the cache home this evening for some quick maintenance.
The log book has been replaced, minor repairs done and cache wiped down. I’ll replace as soon as the glue sets - either tonight or first thing tomorrow. Happy caching!

Owl has been meaning to get to this cache since it was published, A maintenance run nearby was the perfect excuse. numbers collected and enthusiastic muggles dodged, a cool cache was discovered and signed. Love your work!
While out on a dinner stroll, I happen to stumble across Goal Defence for the local netball team.

This afternoon, I went to Magill for business, so I tried some caches near there. This one was the only cache I found today.
Actually, I've been to the listed location before, but there were too many muggles, and no place to park as well. I had to try another day.
Today it was raining for the whole day. Rain, rain, keep muggles away. At the listed location, there were no muggles and no cars at all. Got the information required, and calculated the final location.
Final location was in walk distance. Still, no muggles around.
It was a nice and easy found at final location. I tried my best to keep the cache out of the rain.
Signed the log book, and put everything back. TBs visited.
Thanks for the nice multi cache, bektheraccoon.
One favourite point awarded!

Numbers calculated and off to follow the gps. Had me stumped for a while, but finally managed to locate the cache. It was a super quick write in the log before anyone saw me. Thankfully not too many people around today. Favourite point from me.. TFTC
Goal! Ingenious thanks. A lot of thought and effort has gone into this cache. Take another favourite point. Thanx
I hear about this cache from the CO while it was still in construction and, from what I was told, it sounded like a quality cache. So, when the email came through the cache was published, it went to the top of my To Find list. It took a few weeks, but I finally got around to making an attempt on this cache; seeing as it was close to uni, I figured I would attempt finding it after class one day. So, with decent weather this afternoon, I headed out to the listed coordinates where, after some quick maths, I had a plausible cache location worked out. A short trip and quick search later, I soon had the cache in hand and the container certainly lived up to the hype. It is a unique container, it is put together very well and definitely worth the favourite points that it gets.

A certain chicken was scheduled to meet with a certain raccoon at the nearby nest but in a crossing of wires she was an hour early. So while waiting what better to do than go caching nearby. Turns out the closest cache was this one by a certain raccoon. Turns out she had also seen this cache in construction mode before being placed so knew exactly what to look for. No less a great cache and a funny story to tell the raccoon (or should I just wait until she reads this log...). FP for both the hide and the story. Tftc Raccoon
A Friday Frolic for members of Befuddled Puzzle Solving Group had us in and around the City in search of solved puzzles and anything else we came across. Today it was myself, Blackadders and AnyMules. It was surprising to see how many new caches had appeared near the City since we had last cached around here not all that long ago!
We came and parked. We counted. We made some calculations and walked over to GZ for a quick find. Another fantastic well themed creation. Another FP awarded. That is three in a row.
***Thanks bektheraccoon for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. ***

The usual Wednesday Wander deferred to a Friday as other commitments restricted all members of the group to go out on our usual day.
With the honour of having a Mule with us for a few hours the Adder met the Starfish in Hindmarsh before picking up Anymules from the city.
A number of different types were targeted, mostly newer hides since our last attempt at clearing out around the city.
As always, all caches were visited and signed by all members of the group or each member had a part to play in retrieving the prize.
All caches were in good condition unless noted otherwise.
Gathering the required information was easy, searching GZ was a different story with council employees working nearby. A lesson in what the hobby is to one of the workers and this great cache was soon in hand. Well done for the effort.
Thank you for the cache bektheraccoon Find Number 9778 on 1/07/2022

So I came by last night with Schmidtzall to visit the cache to discover they've replaced the sign!
I've updated the cache listing this morning.
The GZ remains the same and my apologies to anyone who had trouble trying to calculate GZ recently. Happy caching everyone!

The first time we visited the place was overrun by muggles. I saw it, but my brain was not tuned to caching yet and assumed it was just a normal part of the area. Suspicion drove me nuts and finally got a chance to go back today in the rain, ensuring prying eyes would be at a minimum. Love the design of this hide!
Hi everyone,
I have added an extra hint for 'B' to hopefully clear up any confusion.
Happy caching!

This afternoon I headed out with Nettieknows to find this cache, we wandered around trying to collect the numbers but the checksum didn't ad up in the end, A and C were certain but B and D could have been anything so after a process of elimination and some shonky maths we had a solution, walked over and found the very nicely well crafted cache. Fav point from us.

A lot of activity here today with a footy game happening in the wet. Brilliant cache bektheraccoon. Thanks so much for the effort.
We are in Adelaide for a few days and headed out for a visit with a couple of caching friends and, of course, one of these was the CO for this cache. We headed out for a walk with the CO and Moxie to visit these marvelous grounds. It was busy but no-one appeared to take any notice of us. We did the rounds and collected the numbers that we needed and then sat quietly to do our calculations. What a wonderful surprise when we found the cache container, it is so well constructed. It will be a surprise to many we are sure as you will not see one like this around anywhere else.

Found on my way home after a caching circuit around the suburbs after attending the '7am Caching Catch up - #024 - VBA' event. Made the observations, did the sums and headed over for a beautifully crafted cache. Thanks for the cache bektheraccoon!
Today I had been at an early morning event out this side of town and after finding one of the CO’s puzzle caches I continued on here to find this cache.
I had the place to myself so I wandered around gathering the info I needed then worked out where GZ was.
Found another very well crafted/themed cache container (back in the day I was always a GS).
Stamped the log and replaced as found. A favourite for me as I’m a netball tragic and the great cache construction.

Heading out this afternoon, running an errand that took me right past this location, well almost. Made a short detour and parked at the listed coords. With the engine runnning, ran around and gathered the info, and after a false start and a correction, got some numbers that agred witht he checksum. Translated them into coordinates and plotted GZ. As stated, it is not far away, so headed over to the now obvious location, but had to look twice to spot a very well engineered and hidden cache. Signed the log, and replaced as found. Will never get bored with caches like this. Fave for it, well done. Now to complete the errand.

Saw this published last night, but going in opposite direction... when updating gsak this morning I couldn't believe it not found yet, so stopped by on way to Mum's for the day.
So a short drive, then some raccoon maths, and I got some numbers to punch into GPSr...
Thankfully there is a checksum, as a couple of ways to deduce GZ co-ords, well at least in my head there is!
Anyways... I am not going to spruik the raccoons hide, but will give it a deserved Fav!
Great spot, all the facilities, and friendly ppl when I have been to the club! There were footy players, dog walkers, tennis coaching, and tots on the playground... all of whom paid me no heed. Thankfully a quick find though...
Dropped my *FTF* Geocoin through @ 1015hrs too.
