Logs
As I mentioned in my [Found it Log](https://www.geocaching.com/live/log/GL1DBTEYK), the top row of the sign at the posted coordinates is missing and thus a cacher currently is unable to calculate the coordinates for GZ without aid.
I ended up getting called in last night to work night shift, which meant I had the entire day, once I woke up, to go caching. Well fortunately or unfortunately, however you want too look at it, my biological clock was still in routine and so I ended up waking up at my usual time. This of course meant I had plenty of time to be able to get a bit further out of my normal routine caching radius. Well I have been wanting to get out caching around Mount Donna Buang for a while now, as I only need to find a cache hidden between 1251 - 1500 M of elevation, *which just so coincidently is the rough elevation of Mount Donna Buang*, in order to finally qualify for ['s](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=fdc60ecd-0f01-4bbe-8c8d-bc4200f1f8d5&wid=ca6ab4e6-d855-4c48-a529-13685455432f&ds=2) challenge cache, [Sea to Summit Challenge (GC6T2YZ)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC6T2YZ).So once I finally was able to get the sleep out of my eyes, I hopped in the gemobile and made my way to the summit. Since, I did get up so early and it was only a Monday, the summit was completely empty and allowed me to explore and enjoy the space all by myself. Unfortunately, I didn't think about downloading any caches to my offline maps and once I arrived at the summit, I had no mobile service. However, I figured if there was any chance of getting any phone service it would be at the top of the tower. So I attempted to make the climb to the top, and although I did eventually make it to the top, it was a slow struggle. I have only recently recovered from a pretty nasty stomach bug that had me bed ridden for a few days, but I took it slow and eventually made it to the top.Luckily my gamble paid off, and I actually got 5G service from the top of the tower. So after taking in some of the most beautiful and breathtaking views, I quickly downloaded a few caches in the area, including this multi cache.Since I had already climbed to the top of the tower, I decided to finish up the [CO's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=878eecfe-b3a9-4fba-896f-9311185c7b09&wid=749ebac5-571f-42c2-940d-4a47a81aa0d1&ds=2) nearby Virtual cache, [Mt Donna Buang (GC9P84X)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC9P84X?luid=5c8e6785-fd09-462d-8589-d5293097c1aa) before heading on over to this multi cache. I then got to work trying to obtain the required information I needed off the sign at the posted coordinates. However, I was initially confused and couldn't figure out how to calculate the distance to Mt Boobyalla. Of course, it wasn't until a bit further investigation that I realised that one third of the sign was missing. With the top part of the sign missing, I quickly realised there was going to be no way for me to figure out how to calculate the coordinates for GZ.Well with no phone service, I also had no way to reach out to [CO](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=878eecfe-b3a9-4fba-896f-9311185c7b09&wid=749ebac5-571f-42c2-940d-4a47a81aa0d1&ds=2) or any previous finders for a PAF. So back up the tower I went to try and get some phone service. This time I was not as lucky. Where on my previous trip up, I was able to get 5G, this time I was barely able to get 3G. I probably ended up spending 20 minutes doing something that could probably be called an interpretive dance, at best, attempting to get enough service to reach out for a PAF. Well after making a complete fool of myself, I did indeed get a response from a previous finder and the [CO](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=878eecfe-b3a9-4fba-896f-9311185c7b09&wid=749ebac5-571f-42c2-940d-4a47a81aa0d1&ds=2), both of which who were kind enough to be able to provide me with the missing information and allow me to calculate the coordinates for GZ. Being recently ill had killed all my endurance, but getting out in a bit of nature and going for a hike was just what I needed, because although my lungs were on fire my spirits were higher than they had been for quite a while. *The healing power of nature, is always quite fascinating!*Well I ever so slowly made my way down to GZ, taking in all the beautiful views and just basking in the green space. Luckily, my offline maps worked amazingly and led me straight to GZ and once I arrived at GZ it was a nice quick search before the cache was in hand and the logbook signed.A big thanks goes to [ilukaperi](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=878eecfe-b3a9-4fba-896f-9311185c7b09&wid=749ebac5-571f-42c2-940d-4a47a81aa0d1&ds=2) for the help with this multi and for all the fun today. TFTC.**Cache Maintenance Status:**As I mentioned above, one third of the sign at the posted coordinates is missing. Both the inner and and outer cache container was in good shape, but the o-rings are missing. This has allowed a bit of moisture to get into the cache as the logbook was just a tiny bit damp. However, it was plenty dry and I had no issues signing it. The logbook was also clean and had plenty of room for future cache finders to sign.
Find number 13360 at 12:35:52PM on Thursday the 9 May 2024Out this way today to do some maintenance on some older adopted nearby caches and grabbing a couple of smilies as well.Wow, someone has some really high knees around here, I know I'm vertically challenged but it was waist height for sure A quick find and a nice walk in the enchanted forest.**Thanks for placing this cache ilukaperi**---The nominees for the [**2023 Victorian Cache of the Year Awards**](https://geocachingvictoria.com.au/2023-victorian-cache-of-the-year-awards) have now been announced.Find as many of these amazing caches as you can before voting opens later in the year. The full list of nominations is available on the [Geocaching Victoria website](https://geocachingvictoria.com.au/2023-victorian-cache-of-the-year-awards)
Big day out up on Mt Donna Buang scooping up the more remote caches. This was the first of the day, a classic multi which proved easy to solve and a quick jaunt away from the area for a relatively quick find. Gave me the chance to loop back round the peak via a different route. TFTC.
I love these solve for coordinates style caches, and this one did not disappoint.Went down the trail towards the cache with a group of mates, luckily we went on a rainy summers day, so no snakes and only one leech in our party of 5.Got very ominous as the thick fog steeled in but a fun caches nonetheless. Just wasnt prepared for the walk back up to the carpark.
Quick calculation then the checker gave us the all clear. Found the cache right where it was supposed to be. Good to see a cache designed to cope with the weather up here.
Great spot great little walk down here to get this cache really love been up here. I’ve been wanting to come this mountain for so long. It’s great to finally be here
Cache in good condition, but I've replaced it with a cache that will last better in the snow. Please make sure to cover the cache back up once it's been found.
We broke out of suburbia today, bringing the Corolla up to Donna Buang for some fresh air.
A cloudy day meant the views from the top of the lookout weren’t spectacular, but it gave us time to plot a course to the final coordinates, and then we were off down the hill.
Stopped regularly to check for leeches but they must all have been sleeping - a new experience to head off the hill in possession of all our blood.
Cache quickly found - thanks heaps

Out finding a few on the tallest park nearby our accommodation. We arrived at then site and made a quick calculation of the numbers for the final. We had a location that made sense but did the walk up the tower to enjoy the view. Apologies for the late log I’m just catching up on holiday caches favourite point added
Today was the day I decided to tick a few caches off my wish list.
This was the first, and after an early start, I arrived to find I had the mountain to myself.
Well above the cloud base, the breeze was chilling.
Having worked out likely GZ coordinates beforehand, and having a head-scratch over one of the numbers, a perusal of the on-site info made sense of the anomaly: a different spelling of an important word.
The track was somewhat steeper downhill than I anticipated, but after a few minutes, I approached GZ.
With the GPS a little jumpy, I ended up using both the hint and the photo to locate the well concealed container.

A Fav for sure.

After reaching the summit of Mount Donna Buang and throwing balls of the top to see if we could catch them, we went to collect the clues and find this cache. Having the clues and co-ords in hand, we made our way to GZ. After the trek, the GPS system was bouncing around on two phones, meaning we had to expand our search area. However, the cache was quickly located, healthy and in very good condition. Tftc ilukaperi
Thanks for the cache ilukapary, found it in two attempts, fair dinkum, I need to go back to school to learn basic algebra! Yesterday I ended up on the Mt Victouria track!
Yesterday saw a light covering of snow and today most of it was gone.
I was at the GZ looking about when some Muggle bushwalkers asked what I was looking for. I said have you heard of Geocaching? They said no but there's one just here, they had found it when they stopped and signed the log too. Thanks Louie team for your help. Regards from Victourer

Lovely drippy walk. Found it with a team of scouts. More waist-high for our lot.
After a week of contemplation we eventually found a newbie that was wanting to be discovered. Yes, yes, yes and yes! FTF and number …….1000!!! We also love this mountain. Was our first time seeing snow in Oz. Thank you for making it a special one.
