Logs
Been a long time between visits to Dunedin. I wasnt able to do the MEGA there but managed to get things together and come down from Auckland for 5 days and 4 nights after the fact. On my own this visit, usually come with others, so rather quiet on my own this time around. Ive rented a small but great white Toyota Yaris and intend to get as many caches as I can. Day 4 of my adventure. About to start shortly a power trail down by the airport, will be my best day of caching at the end of the day. No go for me today, ended up checking everywhere.
Today I decided to load up the ebike on the back of the cachemobile to do some more on the Clutha Gold Trail from Milton to Waihola.I sat down to rest and wrote on the log.Cheers for the cache, Natalie247.
Out with woolwood9 after attending the MEGA in Dunedin.SL *tm/ww NZ* or *tm/ww*.We enjoyed the drive / walk around! Heading back into Dunedin from our overnight in Milton.*Thanks for the fun cache.* Don't know what happened to the last team of 4, the origional container was found easily just where hint suggested it would be.
tmann421 and I are heading south after attending the MEGA, dodging as many showers as possibleWe enjoyed all the caches found and thank the cache owners for their efforts in maintaining these for us to findLog signed tm/ww NZTFTC
Thyn eyes did not work here today for this one, but I see others have found, so might need to sort out next time down this way.In Dunedin for Geo Toroa (Mega) with a team of cachers from South, East Auckland (SEAC), NZTravellers, KeyLev, HeMaLuDy, UncleSamNZ, and myself. This is our usual annual caching trip where we usually travel to a Mega (in NZ thus far) and/or cache the area, or select an area most of us haven't been caching before, to gain maximum numbers for all. Thanks to all the CO's for placing and maintaining caches in some stunning locations that we may not have visited had it not been for geocaching.TFTC.
Day 3 of our mega trip and today was the day to hit the logging trail and some extras of course! After finishing those we wandered in the general direction of our home for the weekend, caching along here.No luck for us today even though there was a very specific hint!
A nice quick find. Thanks for placing your cache. Ms_KR and I are off on a cruise around the south of the South. Great to be away. The day was wet, off and on, to start with, but the afternoon turned fine. One of my worst dnf days ever! 6 out of 25. I must have been reading the notes wrong or something Occassionally signed MK+KR on cache logs, and apologies for the generic logs. Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches.
Driving south, I found somewhere to pull over and park on the side of the highway so I stopped to collect this cache. It looks like theres a roadside memorial here to someone killed in a road crash. TFtC, I recovered it properly - still in accordance with the hint and description
I parked up in Circle Hill road and went for a pleasant stroll along the trail. Wasnt in the first place I looked, but soon located. TFTC
Found this cache while placing some along the bike trail today. A great day to bike to Milton ton today. All good here. TFTC Natalie247.
Tail wind one way, head wind the other. Took the opportunity for a wee rest. Signed and replaced. TFTC
On our bikes again for our last day, from Lawrence to Waihola.Zipping along with a tail wind. Making quick easy find of these hides. Thanks for placing these on the trail. Too hot to rest up here today. Were looking forward to being by the lake.Although the trail was supposed to be finished last year it was only finally completed this week with the last three bridges put in place at what appears to be great expense.TFTC
After a weekend in Te Anau with AlpiSteve it was time to head home...with a couple of stops along the way of course! A quick find here TFTC Natalie247Make your way to Dunedin for New Zealands next large multi-day event. GCA7ZHD Geo Toroa will be held on NZs Labour Day long weekend 26-27th October 2024
Had to go to Milton for work so stopped by this cache on the way home. Grabbed TB. Thanks for the cache, Natalie247#5396 ** Make your way to Dunedin for New Zealands next large multi-day event. GCA7ZHD Geo Toroa will be held on NZs Labour Day long weekend 26-27th October 2024 **
I initially interpreted the hint differently so then it was a quick find once I had a different idea. TFTC # 20,537
Out riding the almost finished extension to the Clutha Gold. We had to detour round an unfinished bridge, so took advantage of this to grab this cache.

After backtracking from the not yet there bridge and going along the main road for 500m, definitely time for a rest!
Found after a few minutes of stone masonry work. Just about at 100 for the month now!!!
Collecting some more local caches today. Walking the cycle trail. This one was trickier than anticipated - took a bit more dismantling than expected - definitely not a matter of moving only one hand size rock as stated in the description - but I enjoyed the challenge. I have also appreciated in the caches along this stretch of cycleway the cute and user-friendly logbooks Natalie247 has taken the time to make. Tftc (and the nice logbooks ).
Greetings from the Czech Republic and Thanks For This Cache.

The hint was a bit vague and didn't want to spend hours dismantling a rock wall, but we'll be back to try again
An interesting feature but despite the accurate hint, we took a while to find the cache. We have always disliked having to dismantle rock walls to find caches. TFTC
FTF. Headed off on a (not quite) dawn raid to do the four caches published the evening before. Heading south I found myself being tailgated by a Toyota Prado that had come up behind me fast. It eventually overtook me at what I judged must have been 130-135 kmh given how fast it went by and the gap it quickly pulled out. I muttered my usual "Where's a cop when you want one?" It then overtook a car further ahead and pulled out a big gap on that very quickly. Heading into the big bend just after the bridge as you head into Waihola I spotted the car ahead braking (they had a better view around the corner than me at that point). Thought that this was an unusual place to brake so there might be something happening around the bend. Sure enough, came round to see blue and red lights and there was Mr Prado stopped for a conversation with the constabulary. For once, there WAS a cop when you wanted one. Mr Prado passed me while I was at this cache. Quick find. TFTC.
STF tonight on my way north , had hoped that the Dunedin crowd might be too busy to come south for the new caches. Quickly found after a short jog back to the likely hiding spot.
Thanks Natalie247 for another cache along this bike - walkway.
Gathering up newly placed caches for a challenge I am working on.
