Reperio 07:42Day 6 of our NSW south eastern caching tour, and Master Vitruvius and I today travelled from just outside of the ACT to home in Orange. With a number of caches left to do around Murrumbateman and Yass, we stopped by a few in this area before taking an extended route back home to Orange. Our final day was another fantastic day of caching, with very few caches that went unfound. Gratias DARKSIDEDANAs a well spent day brings happy sleep, a well spent life brings happy death - LDV

Find # 10686Making the most of the opportunity to duck out for a few hours/day of caching fun. Seeking out the occasional challenge or two, or trying to mop up as many solves as I can to keep that long list under control. Seems to increase faster than decrease Looking at my stats I have a personal goal to meet before year end and its not an altogether small one. BUT when Im on a mission anything could happen. So with this in mind I put the offer of a day caching out to my friend barb2e, and what do you know, shes been going stir crazy it seems and needs to get out. Oooeeeee! Loaded the geomobile with every TOTT I thought we just might need and lets go have some fun, indeed we did. Driving the backroads out the east of Murrumbateman to see what we can find. Thanks so much for the many caches DARKSIDEDAN and of course for giving me a reason and incentive to get out here, and to experience this part of the world in a different light

I was out and about and came across this cache to find, today. I’m slowly finding the caches, east from home. At the moment, I’m mostly focusing on the caches between Binalong and the ACT border. Finding this cache certainly has certainly helped with this mission. As I am catching up with my logging, I’m not exactly sure how long it took to find or remember what type of cache it was but I certainly enjoyed finding it all the same. Also, I have back dated this log to the day I found it. When I signed the cache, **it was either signed as JM or JohnoMawbs**. This was due to the size or amount of space on the logsheet/book. TB visit. I would like to thank the CO of this cache for placing it and for allowing it to bring the Geocaching community enjoyment. Big Grin TFTC! Big Grin

Decided to go on a bit of a cache hunt today with ilook4geo even though it promised to be a hot day. We found a good selection with some being very easy to find and some taking more time. This was a nice quick and easy one and the log soon had two more names on the list. Thanks go to DARKSIDEDAN for this cache placement.

Cache 9668 on 4 Feb 2023.

I have set a goal for myself - making my 10,000th cache the Rutherglen mega event, quite tricky because I am currently 380 caches away from it, it is only 2.5 months away, and I am away for 10 days in the middle of March! So today, SpecimenX and I headed out to Yass to knock off a few caches which I have been meaning to grab for a while.

Ended up finding most of the “stick” series and quite a few others along the way. We had numerous drivers stop while we were stopped on the road check we were okay, which was encouraging! A fun few hours with quality caches and lots of laughs!

Unless otherwise indicated, the finds did not take too long, the cache was extracted in reasonable time and any hints were accurate!

Thanks DARKSIDEDAN for the cache and the fun!

Teamed up with AngelG27 for another geomission around the back roads near Yass. She was on a mission to get some numbers up so happy to join in on that action! Big Grin

A bit of a wade to get to the cache but an easy find!

After the impromptu gathering we decided to collect some more caches while in the area and had some time to kill which is very rare of late.

Lots of long grass in the area and thankfully no wiggly sticks to be seen. As usual we found the easy path out to this one and took the wrong track in. But got there in the end.

Thanks for the hide DARKSIDEDAN

The end of the week came around and there were a few thing going on in the day. During the morning I went caching out to Murrumbateman with Smitten Granny. We started at the show grounds and then did a few along the highway including one very impressive tree climb. After Lunch a trip to Albury for a specific D/T cache started. Joolay, Kitty Katch & I set off around 2pm and pretty much drove non stop to Albury. There was a little time for a few caches before dinner and one after dinner. Tomorrow will be a walk and a forest explore for several puzzle caches.

This side road yielded a few caches today. There was some gravel storage going on, but not near the caches. Just long grass.

Thanks for the cache DARKSIDEDAN

I missed this cache when I cleaned up the rest of them on the disused dirt trail nearby, so decided to stop by and sign the log today when I was passing this spot once more! Usually I am pretty keen to get back into Canberra and have driven past many times, but today I made the effort!

Thanks DSD

On a nice winters day with a cold breeze in the air me and IamCoust did a geocaching run around Yass and Murrambateman, driving on quiet unsealed roads picking up parts of the snake and lizard series which dot the landscape out here. Most caches were easy to find so it was mainly a numbers game which was both pleasing and tiring at the same time.
Some caches we considered very near peoples properties so it was a quick get in, get out before being spotted or interrogated. Overall a very enjoyable day. TFTC

17-Jul-22
An early start to a cool and windy day with Green-Martian tackling a few of the recently published caches out and around the Murrumbateman/Yass area. We targeted a mixture of finds, following a basic route weaving back and forth along the back country roads. Most finds came without issue but the odd one here and there presented a challenge in one way or another. In that regard, any interesting or specific details relating to the find are added to the end of log. Regardless, at the end of the day there were about 60 successful finds, 1 DNF and 1 other we were not well enough prepared to tackle.

As the morning went on the numbers grew, and so did the surrounding clouds. In the end, after a solid 6 hours of caching, as the rain began to fall, we called it quits for the day.

Thanks again GM for a great day out, and the CO’s for all their hard work and effort. TNLNSL TFTC

All caches were found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned.

28,266. Found with minniek during a fun caching run today.

Another day that I needed a few caches for a calendar challenge, so out we headed today for this string of caches relatively close to home (in caching terms anyway!!). We are certainly learning all the back roads out near Yass and the region chasing down all these animal caches - plus its nice to see a mixture of types as well. In all we collected a zoo of Snakes and Lizards this time to add to our previous collections. This cache was a fun find and retrieval. Stamped the log, replaced the cache as found, then headed off to the next one.

Thanks DSD !!

#14682 - 10:00:00 AM; On a run in and around Murrumbateman with Sol de lune to collect caches to top up the daily calendar. Needed a ToTT for a couople, but the others were all pretty straight forward. All were found in good order. Logs were signed L.L10n & sdl or vice versa for joint finds, others just with my name. Out with LuckyL10n for a run around Murrumbateman and after no luck with the giraffe we were out on the highway and grabbing 4 along here. Again, all were found without issue and our names were soon in the logs.

Thanks again DSD....enjoyed the drive along the old road.

**This Cache**
A quick find on a beautiful day! TFTC DARKSIDEDAN!

**Our Day**
A spur of the moment decision late morning and I was off with my caching colleague driving just north of the ACT to pick up a handful of traditional caches. It was an enjoyable road trip and we had lots of fun working together finding all but two caches. Of those two caches one was 9m up a tree, measured with my pole AND on private property so we were never going to get close either way. The other cache was one for which we searched for 40 minutes and couldn’t find even with a PAF. Just too clever for us today.

Many thx to ALL7 for her great sense of humour, caching skills with no hesitation to climb trees, find innovative solutions to extract tricky caches and her ability to find all those caches that were not quite on GZ.

Some after work caching to top up my find numbers for the day. Cache easily found. TFTC.

#329 After making a find nearby Turtle headed up towards the next cache. He realised there was a better spot to park closer to GZ so I headed back and jumped in the truck and met him at GZ. Turns out he had to head around anyway as he’d hit a waterway. Once a GZ, quickly had CIH and returned. TFTC DSD

30-Apr-22
#2157 Being only a short distance up the road from the previous find, I headed straight in by foot which was a bad idea. Especially when I encountered the waterway just before GZ and had to head back up over the roadside culvert. DeadThief returned to the car and met me at GZ end. Thanks DSD for the cache.

Yabba Dabba Doo *FTF* ! Big GrinBig GrinBig Grin

Not the easiest train for me atm, but I was taking it very slow and carful to find a blank log at the end of it.

I had missed the FTF hunt for some the new caches to the north last night as I was busy working. But when more had come out today and some further away were still left I decided to make the reasonably short trip to Murrumbateman and knowing that I probably would keep on going from there, as it would be 'just another short trip further'. The weather held off and it was easy driving, all caches where found quickly and most where easy to retrieve. Some large containers in the mix and some new roads traveled. Overall a few successful hours this arvo to achieve 14 FTFs.

Thank you DARKSIDEDAN for putting the cache out and maintaining it.
