Came to clear the island of its treasury and get some smiles. Loved how they have restored these beautiful old cranes and its mechanics. Did the legals and replaced as found. TFTCM Cheers dkmacca
Made our way after sustenance at the nearby cafe. Another quick find. Signed as CB and GZed. TFTC!
Found with Gazania Rigens, as per her log.Loving all this history and astonished at how recently so much was still operational: Well within my adult lifetime! Rather poignant to see it all stilled and gently rusting now, but also good to see that volunteers are busy doing thier best to maintain as much of it as they can.
The volunteers on the island have done a great job with these old cranes. I'm not sure I've ever seen a steam powered crane. The cache was easy to find thanks to the precise hint. TFTC!
#24903. We found a steep set of stairs to get us from the upper level of the island back down to sea level. The fact they were in the shade was a bonus. Then we had to brave the hot sun to get to GZ. Quick find once at GZ thanks to the excellent hint, which was appreciated as we have a very mixed record of being able to find caches attached to large metal objects in Aus. TFTC.
StreetWalkerNZ and I arrived in Sydney last night, and the plan was to visit Cockatoo Island this trip. The forecast was for warm weather so we decided to head out after breakfast while it was still cool.By this time it was starting to rather warm, so we tried to keep ourselves in the shade as much as possible. And the hint was used for a quick in and out. Such an interesting area. TFTC.
TFTC and a nice find with Goldberry17 and the CO. Another TFTC ticked off my list. The crane is amazing. Loved exploring the island.
Thanks for the cache - we are over from the U.K. exploring your lovely country jjjss
Bear & bee Looked everywhere but where it was , bee swooped in with another Awesome cache !
Its been a while, decided to venture out while the sun is shining. Find #358 @2.32pm. SLRC as found.TFTC.
After a rainy start to the day, the afternoon produced glorious sunshine which was perfect for our trip to Cockatoo Island. We caught the ferry from Barangaroo & were soon on the island.Having visited the Earthcache, this was my next stop & I quickly guessed the right hiding place, but didn't reach in far enough! When I checked the hint it confirmed my intuition & on a deeper delve the cache was in hand. All was well so I was soon on my way again...Found at 14:32Cache #10479TFTC TFTC_Sydney

09:08Cold & wet? Yes! but a ferry fun day out and about around Sydney with fellow Victorians - long time caching buddies Suscoe. Another interesting cache in the TFTC series.A BIG thank you to the CO who placed this cache.37106
Suscoe headed out early this morning to explore Cockatoo Island. We visited with our very good friends Phetlern. It was a quiet ferry trip with not many people about.Well this certainly was a surprise, such a wonderful island to explore with terrific history and a diverse range of equipment, buildings, 360 degree views and a degree of serenity in the middle of a thriving City. Thanks to TFTC_Sydney for this interesting hide.
Able to search with no one around this part of the island. Nice hide and all dry inside. TFTC
Diesen kleinen konnten wir, am Ende Dank Hint, finden. Sonst wren wir wahrscheinlich verzweifelt sehr schne Insel mit interessanter Geschichte! Thanks for the Cache!
Thank you for the cache! The final part of the Australian section of my trip with Ironford was in Sydney. We spent four full days here and really enjoyed our time. Today was our last day, and we were doing really well on time, so we decided to go on one more trip by ferry - to Cockatoo Island. We left from Barangaroo docks on our way there and returned to the main terminal on the way back, so we got A LOT of amazing city and harbour views. The island was a great place to explore and combine sightseeing and geocaching, and we also learned a bit about local history.Greetings from Prague, Czech Republic
The island was relatively empty of people, except a group of kids staying and a few day visitors. Quick find here with the hint! TFTC!!
My second time to the island. Missed this one last time.Great hintIn Sydney for a few days before heading to Canberra for the Capital Geobash. Today was all about catching public transport to pick up new LGAs.TFTC_Sydney, I found TFTC Sydney - Docklands today. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.
Visiting from the US, specifically Ohio on a grand adventure leading up to the Capital Geobash. Spending the day today exploring Sydney. Started with riding the train to central and then walked towards the harbour and opera house. Took a side trip out to cockatoo to explore a bit. Thanks for the cache. Signed Log.
