I nice stroll up the hill to find this cache. Beautiful day for a cache or two. Thanks for hiding this cache DARKSIDEDAN
Having completed the challenge that I had set for myself already this year, it was time to embark on another one. What I decided on will see me travelling around a couple of states, but today I could grab one here. This was one of the caches that I found while over this side of town. TFTC DSD
Caching around Canberra for a while longer. TFTC. Interesting story. Lots of friendly roos around.
Sir_spectre and I are making our way home from our ACT, NSW and Victoria holiday. Unfortunately, due to family circumstances we had to cancel our Mega adventure, so this trip was to make up for it.Many caches found and any that needed some love got it.Thanks
Stopped to get my letterbox count closer to 25 in the ACT. quick find. Found with Mogni. Myself and mogni are headed off to canberra on the " I missed the Capital GeoBash Mega " holiday, since last minute family problems came in to play and we had to adjust our plans by a few weeks. On the way over we targeted multi's, wherigo's and puzzles to make sure we had 25 in each or at least close to that total ( or more ) as possible, getting as many new New South Wales LGA's as possible, the 17th most favourite point NSW cache and every cache size in New South Wales. In the ACT it was getting 2 of the 5 oldest letterboxes, oldest wherigo in Australia, 2nd oldest earthcache ( with a side trip to get the oldest earthcache of course ), and ACT oldest cache too. I also hosted a CITO and planned on getting every different cache type i could and eevry different cache size as well. I also needed 9 more virtuals this trip to get my virtual count over 100. Finally canberra was far enough away from from house to complete the well aged well travelled cacher 0 to 1000 kms with a cache every 10 km's ( i only need 7 more caches to complete )Leaving the ACT it was going via Victoria to get there last active web cam cache and slowly getting a total of 20 finds in each LGA i passed through if i had enough time plus also hosting a CITO in Victoria as well. A busy 11 days. Trust me by the end of the holiday you would have thought the 6 meter ladder weighed more than 13 kg's to amount of times it was used or carried up hills or over creeks. If your cache was found with a broken container/lid it was replaced or if the log was full it was replaced or a extra log if the container was big enough ( except for nano's, do your own maintenance on nano's.
I have always been curious about Area51 and the cache description made me highlight this letterbox if we ever drove nearby. In Canberra for 8 days for the GeoBash Mega burns345 geotrakka and myself drove past on our last couple of hours before our flight and we went to find this one. Though its not a real letterbox (my ultimate favourite type of letterbox) the walk was great, the container was easily found, a huge group of kangaroos layed in the grass (@15) and a horse and rider was seen at Oakey Hill. Overall perfect! The Cache found with no issues and signed as WA3. Cheers DSD!
Over here for Canberra Mega from Western Australia picking up caches and meeting like persons. TFTC signed as WA3 (Geotrakka Burns345 meme28)
Our final day in ACT for the mega. We are now down to just three members of the team. Bags are packed and car is loaded. We have a few hours to grab some more smileys before heading back west.Signing as a team - WA3Many thanks DARKSIDEDAN for placing this hide for me to find and adding to my adventures.
On a MEGA day today with eldest geokid as he clocks up about 9 hours in his Learners Logbook. We had a lot of fun just picking up whatever semi-random caches we felt like before attending the [Geobash](https://coord.info/GL1BRA49R) in time for the Lackey/ Reviewers workshop. We bumped into a few teams out there today including a team from Narrogin WA. A good day but were wrecked!LBH found quickly in yet another uniquely ACT/ CBR spot. I stamped yours in mine/ mine in yours, and re-hid. Cache and log in good condish. It appeared by the condition of the stamp that I was perhaps the first person to ever ink it up and use it, which is surprising considering the number of finds it already has. Don't other cachers use a LBH stamp book? TFTLBH and brand new stamp, DARKSIDEDAN.#1947
We have arrived in Canberra for the Geobash. Before being able to set up at midday at Canberra Park, we are getting a few traditionals and the caches we selected for our time here. Third hill in one morning without my heart rate monitor on! I found the Geicaching Australia cache and austpark found this one. Beautiful hill. Thanks DARKSIDEDAN for creating and maintaining this cache.
Found with AngelG on a public holiday Monday mini mission around the area. Next on the agenda was this one. Always good to grab a Letterbox! Thanks for the hide, DSD!
Cache # 11098 on 11 Mar 2024Out and about with SpecimenX on a quiet holiday Monday. After grabbing the wherigo we both wanted, we grabbed a few other caches for the stats before calling it quits as the weather warmed up. Happy to add an LBH to my finds for today! Quick find at GZ. Thank you DARKSIDEDAN for the cache and the fun!
Needing a different type today decided to head for this one. Stopped a while to look at the view. Thanks for getting me out and about DARKSIDEDAN
Lovely spot! Nice and peaceful, and pretty views a few steps in every direction. Tftc!
Thanks, DSD. Interesting story. I'm here walking the dogs. Naturally, since I get to pick the spot, there is a cache somewhere here. And I found it.
Quick pick up this morning to collect a letterbox cache for the current souvenir. TFTC DSD
This is a part of Canberra I'd never been before. Looking for a nearby letterbox for the souvenirs this month so I picked this one.
After a wander up the path I found this one under the tell-tale stones. Nice easy find.
Looks like there's a bit of mountain bike infrastructure set up, would be good to have a bit of a ride around. TFTC Dan!

Laying it all out here with a great condition stringybark-brittle gum woodland patch, rock seat and dappled views, DARKSIDEDAN. TFTC!
Decided to get out and about today and collect a few caches on our journey.
Have collected the cache that this one talks about, but it doesn't look anything like the one in the photo anymore as the letterbox was blow to pieces and the ET Highway is far from deserted. Heaps of cows now call this road home and makes for very dangerous driving if done at night.
Quick and easy find at this one.
Thanks for the hide DARKSIDEDAN

Found with fitzy_1965 after a busy day at work.
A nice afternoon for a bit of caching so we took advantage of it.
All caches found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned.

29,092. Found with minniek on a lovely afternoon's caching around Canberra.
Another day - another date calendar challenge for me - ten being my target for the day, so I picked minniek up after work and started on our list of caches. Most were only a short walk from good parking, and we had no troubles with any of the caches unless mentioned. This one we did as - strangely enough - minniek hadn't done a Letterbox Hybrid cache in the ACT this year. Parked just near the gate (not for the first time), wandered up the road (not for the first time), crossed the ditch (you get the message) and were soon at GZ for a quick find. Stamped the log, replaced the cache as found, then headed off to the next one on our list.
Thanks DSD !! Fav Point !

I seem have managed one day without any appointments so I set out to get five caches, mostly in the south and taking a bit of time to walk to some that are not all just next to the car. I was happy to fix a DNF in Belconnen first.
With a DNF on the list, I selected one more walk to make up the days caching. I have been up this hill several times, but why not again. It was a nice day and I was soon at this cache and on my way back to the car to go home.
Thanks for the cache DARKSIDEDAN

#2886 Doing a small loop a reckon I approached this the steeper side. Found the cache, stamped the log and made the downhill retreat to the car. TFTC.
A quick walk up the path and we soon spotted the cache. I think we were first to stamp the log, that gets some kind of prize right?
TFTC!
TFTC!
Found at 10:00:00 AM with BatGirl
Wandered up the track and initially went too far. Then it was found.
Thanks DARKSIDEDAN

Spent the day out picking up some urban/semi-urban caches today with Noikmeister. He made the quick find.
I used to live in Lyons (albeit many, many years ago), so the trek to the cache was familiar to me. I;ve always wondered why Oakey Hill hasn't had more caches on it. Good to see it's being populated now. There was a puzzle cache somewhere here when I started caching in 2015, but the rest of the hill was empty at that time. Nice sized cache! Thanks again DSD.
Found after work. A mellow walk up the hill for a quick find at GZ. Stamp has unfortunately dried out. TFTC DSD!
Parked at the gate and made my way directly to GZ for a straightforward find. TFTC DSD
Parked by the gate for a quick walk up to GZ. Found, signed and replaced as found. No sign of, nor did I look for, the other geocache. TNLNSL TFTC
I was caching in the area, and decided to go up to this one. GZ was a really nice and secluded location, thank you for bringing me here. TFTC
On my walk around Oakey Hill I diverted over to this one. Found the GA cache first then this the correct cache. TFTC.
Passing by so decided to make a swift grab. No stamps on me today but I drew a copy of my regular stamp. Nice views from nearby. Thanks for the cache.
Find #5721
It always great to be out in our great outdoors, making the most of the weather hail rain or shine, and enjoying the variety of caches in offer.
Seems this one has been causing a bit of confusion with a nearby one, too easy
Thanks to DARKSIDEDAN for putting out and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment!

After parking the car at the gate I made the short walk up the track and then the off-shoot towards the cache. Upon arrival I quickly located the container in the obvious location, not sure where the GCA cache is however as I didn't even seem to stumble across it unlike others! (the dates on the cache I found started with the FTF log)
Thanks DSD

After this morning's orienteering on Mt Taylor, I dropped by this cache. I found the nearby GCA cache before I found this one. The GCA cache guardian posed nicely for me. Based on the online logs for this cache, it appears some cachers thought the GCA cache was this cache. They have signed the GCA cache but not this cache. I nearly made the same mistake, but noticed there were no signatures matching some of the online logs, so thought there must be another cache close by. Soon found and signed (as well as the GCA cache). TFTC.

Always a pretty little hill to walk up. A straightforward find here today - thanks, DSD.
What a fantastic spot for a cache! Thanks for another good one Darksidedan! Appreciate what you do for the community
An interesting cache I only saw this morning so headed out to make the find. No issues and the log was soon signed.
Have driven along the ET highway with Albida and Mtrax while doing the ET trail but can't say I remember seeing the letterbox. It's a big open area though, so no real surprise I guess. The highlight of the area is the A'le'Inn at Rachel. The night we were there we had 3 German guys who were alien hunting....and with the 3 of us (cachers) it was an interesting night. The didn't find any aliens, but we found the caches!!
Thanks for the LBH and memories DSD....a few photos of the area attached.

Out with Tankengine. Such a lovely day for caching.
This was unfortunately a little anticlimactic for me. I was expecting a little more than a sistema under a rock. Don’t know why, just thought it would be nice to see a little more effort. Oh well. Tftc!!!

*FTF* with Flintstone's. After a few tree fishing caches up north and this still waiting for a find, the night was still young so we made our way into the area. Parking is good and the walk in short and easy, a little uphill but a nice mild evening for a walk. A lot of options but the cache hide was quickly located by torchlight, the log signed and the nice walk back to the car. Thanks for the cache DSD.
