Found with Jamesta18 today while adventuring around the area Such a beautiful area, seen some cute bunnys and kangaroos out todayLeft pretty ring for next finder TFTC Fav point for the adventure and lovely surroundings
Before clocking into Lobethal we came for a drive to GZ. We sat at the gate and immediately ummed and ahhed about whether we should drive the hundred metres to the hide because it didnt seem right. I wasnt worried about being caught somewhere I shouldnt, I was worried about freezing and some part of my body falling off.I do want to be critical of anywhere when you are holidays but the coffee in Hahndorf tastes like dipping your testicles into sewerage. Every shop and cafe has an expensive looking coffee machine and they all have pretty takeaway cups but poking your eyes out with chopsticks is more fun than drinking that swill. Each day I have tried a different cafe without luck. This was the last day of our week away and I was hoping the Lobethal roasters didnt disappoint (they didnt). I cant remember the name of the place after a few beers. It was something like the Mighty Mighty Boss Tones. Their beans were a tad expensive but worth every penny. tftc
While we were at this location, a horse rushed across the nearby paddock towards us. Thankfully it veered away just before the fence. Accurate coordinates and a logical hide location led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks teb101 for the cache.
With some decent weather today, I planned to head out towards the Oakbank/Woodside/Lobethal area for some caching. As the day wore on, I eventually got into Lobethal and started picking off the local caches in the area. Having made the short, and pleasant, drive to ground zero I began my search for the cache. With the way ground zero looked I was expecting a certain type of cache. However, it was obvious from the start that this was not what I was going to be searching for. A short search of the area and I soon had the cache in hand. The log was signed, the cache replaced, and I was on my way to my next find.Find #8445, at 04:49 pmTFTC
Found it! Nice find along a quiet road with great views. Approached GZ from the wrong side - beware what might be hiding in the long grass, luckily for me it was only a very startled rabbit! TFTC
Christmas trip to Adelaide 2023. Day 8. Blackwood Day 6. I took a trip from Blackwood to Lobethal today. The main goal was a set of LABs, but in and around the district I had plenty of opportunity to find caches at Balhanna, Lobethal, Charleston and Lenswood. One of them was even a DNF I had at the beginning of the year. I finished with a second set of LABs at Lenswood on their great little pioneer walk along a creek. The day finished with a fantastic lamb pie from Balhanna bakery before heading home for the day.A little bit of dirt road never harmed anyone, and today was no exception as I made my way down this little trail to the cache. I was expecting a challenge, but I saw the covering on arrival and was able to sign the log. Thanks for the cache teb10145187.9 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & April OZ Mega 2019 A#395**Albida**
We are disabling this cache briefly until we can replace the container that has been stolen.
Quick find with PSGV1, didn't have a pen with us on the motorbike so couldn't write in log. Tftc! ️
Found with Nukky13 while riding around through the hills today!

Came from the bottom and after the rain the geo driver refused to drive up that muddy track. Came from the top of the road, the driver stopped 85 meters from the cache, i walked the rest of the distance to the cache. quick find. Found after the Clean up Mount Barker Summit CITO. Quick find.
The JAMS crew ( JJ52, Allister W, Mogni, and Sir_spectre ) Mitchell&hound is overseas currently so didn't join us, were out on our monthly outing. All logs stamped as JAMS. Today it was off to Mount Barker Summit to the CITO the JAMS crew is hosting and then heading in the general direction of Lobethal. We were targeting the 3 adventure labs and whatever caches any of the JAMS crew hadn't done, so there was a lot of revisits to caches for me till we cached above Nairne. We had scattered showers till a slightly late lunch when it poured down, after lunch the rain went away and came back as we were leaving Mount Barker on route home.

Another JAMS day starting with some adventure Labs, general caches and a CITO. Then the rain came and we stopped for lunch. Luckily after lunch a few more caches before heading for home.

Heading to the Charleston pub for lunch but arrived way to early so a quick diversion here!!!! Quickly located. Thanks teb101 for the adventure!!!
Saturday caching day today, despite the weather with the odd shower or two to avoid also kept the muggles at bay making for a easier search at several locations throughout the day, we parked short of the gate then wandered down the rest of the way, lots of regrowth and a cache found after a short search

Wow - what an amazing track! We drove up to GZ just because we could. I was looking in the wrong spot and then saw the suspicious hiding spot. Thanks for bringing us here. TNLN. Cheers.
Watched the cricket at Lobethal while we ate lunch, then headed out to the cache [^].
Quickly found on a nice clear afternoon .
TNLNSL.
Continued along the road to see where it went [:o)].
Thanks again Teb101.

Last time Owl was here it was not a good day for a dry weather only track. However, today it was a good drive (even to the end where an 8-point turn was required to get out again) for a quick find.
Another day out with Doctor Owl and sushilord on a beautiful sunny drive around the hills, with a lot of ground covered...oh and a few caches as well. [^]
A quick find here then the Owl had to complete an 8 point turn so we could get back to Lobethal.
Thanks for the cache teb101.

A day out caching with Dr Owl and JJ52. Owl had a plan and who am I to argue with that, it's easier to go with the flow. The day was filled with lots of discussion, catching up on news, the occasional mention of adventure lab caches (worse than nanos in my opinion) and laughs.
The road was dry, but there was evidence of recent rain nearby, so Owl was comfortable driving here. Another quick find.

Another nice driveby. Leaving the track to join the main road I saw the first of four different police officers on my drive home. Must be something happening today.

We had a girl's day out, two caching and two non-caching.
It was a beautiful day to be out caching.
We were hoping to shortcut through from another cache,
but we took one look at the dirt road and the driver went back the other way.
There was still plenty of water in a puddle which took up half of the track.
A quick find, thanks for the cache teb101

Arrived at this one and noticed the obvious hiding place but the co ords were some distance away so still had a look where I thought it should be and there you go it was 15-20m from GZ. Cache is all good.
Today with an event on in Mt Barker I set off early in the day for a full days caching. Starting in loberthal and making my way through the towns and back roads as I went. Managed to get 55 finds and see 3 brown snakes at caches.
Thank for the cache

Out on this beautiful spring day with friends heading to the Barossa. We drove down the track, found the cache after jumping the small trench on the side of the road then did a 5-point turn to head in the right direction again. An adventure to start the day.

Following the colourful little marks on the map, slowly joining the dots and cleaning that map...
Came along ready to ring the bell but instead just chatted to the moo cows!
Cache a few metres that way from given coordinates, surroundings wet and boggy but cache surprisingly dry!

Hunting around - searching, spotting strange items and signing cache logs using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Whereyougo, Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S21u, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or often with just a guyess or plain old dumb luck

Danger! Caching is a very hazardous activity!
Look out for sand, mud, snakes, surprise cliffs, roos, wombats, things falling from trees, bulldust, and floods, and try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins and don't fall off your ladder...
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- and do watch out for bugs !!! . [xx(]
Make Travel Bugs the Only bugs you share and pass on (Covid cancels caching!)
Keep a safe distance - cache the countryside
Heaps good of all those placing quality caches out and about around the country areas,
in sensible safe places especially! - it keeps our game fun, and interesting
Much appreciate you reading all this extra addition to the log word count! There's a challenge somewhere out there, apparently! You win a virtual smiley for the effort and getting to the end of the log Maybe if I worked out where I could do it and go back to normal logs again ! If you find the challenge let me know and we can put an end to these long logs !!!

Found on my way back home after an overnight camping stay in the mallee near Blanchetown. Thanks for the cache teb101!
This week three Befuddled Puzzlers joined with a cache owner to head out to Charleston Conservation Park to grab the series there, other newly published caches and anything else that we hadn't got whilst passing. Today's it was me Blackadders and S.A. Sewer Rat team up with TTROGG who wanted to do maintenance on his Charleston caches. Then it was lunch at the Lobethal Bakery and a walk in Crawford Forrest near Kersbrook. As usual there were Dad Jokes and frivolity between caches..
Heading off to get lunch at Lobethal we called in to find this cache. [^] My GPS wanted me to jump the fence and look in the paddock but I spotted the hide on my way there so that wasn't required.
***Thanks teb101 for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. ***

Wednesday Wander was changed to a Tuesday Trekking day.
The group consisted of the Rat, the Starfish and an Adder.
We met up with Ttrogg to his My_Charleston X Series.
This was a fun but soggy trek around the Conservation Park.
A stop on our way into Lobethal for lunch.
This one appears to be about 20mts out.
Then it was time for lunch at the Lobethal Bakery.
After lunch we headed out for smileys. Tftc
After doing a ,maintenance check of My_Charleston X series with some Befuddled Puzzlers spent the rest of the day with them for some higher terrain caches near and along the Heysen trail.
Found on the way to lunch at the Lobethal bakery. We drove past our GZ looking for somewhere to park which actually helped the Starfish quickly spot the cache on the way back.
As has been mentioned in previous logs cache seems to be about 20 metres from the given GZ. It would be good if the co-ords were updated to co-ords provided by Hurtle.
Thanks to teb101 for putting out this cache to help populate our geomap.

Our usual Wednesday wander now changed to a Tuesday trek with a starfish and the Rat. Our target was the My Charleston series and as the owner wanted to undertake a maintenance check on them all we had the pleasure of his company.
An enjoyable lunch at the Lobethal bakery followed where we then made our way to get a few other smileys that were needed.
A quickish find whilst on our travels to the Bakery.
All caches were in good condition unless noted otherwise.

We have shifted the cache to a less watery spot but the coordinates are still the same.
Cache was floating in a pool of water. Surprisingly the log was only slightly damp. Still able to write on it. Not sure where it's original spot was but found a spot out of harms way. TFTC

Parked a little way away and walked in. Very wet in this area today. I replaced the cache as found but the container is still working a treat, log was dry.

Got caught napping here as this very-close-to-home cache had been up for grabs for some hours before I noticed it. Just enough daylight left, so a quick bolt to the car and a dash to Lobethal.
At GZ, I suspected a problem with water (heavy rain up here today), but fortunately the cache floated once liberated from whatever was holding it down. The log was damp, but I was able to write on it. Took the path tag and left the ring.
I’ve returned the cache to a non-submarine location and notified the CO to see if this is acceptable.
An exciting end to a quiet Sunday at home in front of the fire, which is where I am again now.
Thanks again Teb101.
