Found by The Empire + HWe hit the trails again today, the occasional showers adding a refreshing element to the drive. Each time the rain fell, the earthy scent of wet eucalyptus and native trees filled the air, making the entire landscape feel alive. The rain left the gravel tracks slick but manageable, and the morning passed as we wound through the bushland, the sound of raindrops tapping softly on the car roof.We kept a steady pace, enjoying the quiet roads and the peacefulness of the trail, with just the occasional bird or kangaroo to break the stillness. We climbed a few trees, used my new caching pole on some caches, and found plenty of easy ones. I'm not sure if Ill qualify for many of the challenge caches, though, since Ive never cached in Western Australia. But thats something I plan to fix in 2025, and Im looking forward to claiming those smilies then! I checked on all the caches in this series today, undertook some minor maintenance where required on a few and repositioned some back to where they should be. I was quite surprised at what good condition they were actually all in! I have also adjusted the difficulty ratings on a number of the caches to better reflect the challenge difficulty as determined by Project-GC. Enjoy!

After over seven weeks on the road, I'm back home and finally catching up on all my logging.Caching in South Australia was fantastic, so many good hides to find, and we found ourselves zigzagging all over the place doing lots of geoart but of course ran out of time to get everything done on our to-do list. The majority of caches we found were in great condition and well maintained, which is a credit to all the CO's who placed them, so thank you.Our logs were mostly signed as 5 for QLD to save room on the log sheets, and no doubt, we'll be back again in the future ??Snickersallan fulfills challenge 'Straya' #01 - 6000 Traditional Caches Challenge (GC9VRXD) according to project-gc.com ??

A Leap Year Mega draws us to Adelaide. Today's our intrepid group is working from Murray Bridge, in particular these Challenge Caches. We are using the Acronym 5 for QLD to sign the log sheets. As this is a bulk GSAK logging, I do not have time to check the individual cache to see if I qualify just yet. That will come later. Today, I am just recording that my name is in the log Sheet. It was a pleasant drive through that countryside, and we were pleased to find all the caches on our list.
Before travelling to SA it was decided to do these Australia GeoArt Challenge Caches. Driving around and found cache, signed log and placed back where found. Another day of caching in SA after attending the mega in Adelaide. What a whirlwind of a week for us as we attack trails with mates, DT, specific types for personal challenges, old caches and just damn good ones. With so much on offer we barely knew where to start but as we headed slowly home we picked up the Straya challenge series while staying in Murray Bridge overnight. We started at No. 1 and worked our way down, across and up signing each logbook as we went enjoying the cooler early evening conditions. Our Qualifying Stats: [The_Tritonz](https://www.geocaching.com/profile/?u=The_Tritonz) has used [Project-GC](https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC9VRXD/69366 "Project-GC Challenge Checker") to see if they qualified for this challenge and they did.Find at least 1 Traditional cache iin each of 3 different Australian States or Territories."Australian Capital Territory- 2015-04-12 GC3R4V5 - Border Code (Traditional Cache)New South Wales- 2013-11-11 GC44PZV - Sit and Think (Traditional Cache)Northern Territory- 2014-04-11 GC4KKXH - What State am I in now (Traditional Cache)Queensland- 2013-11-17 GCY6K5 - On a Clear Day (Traditional Cache)South Australia- 2014-04-03 GC4RR3E - Four Chimneys thats all (Traditional Cache)Tasmania- 2014-10-27 GC18DCG - PIONEERS REST (Traditional Cache)Victoria- 2013-09-03 GC18F15 - Giants in Paradise (Traditional Cache)Western Australia- 2022-08-26 GC9ND2V - CircleRoute: Belmont Forum / Wright St (Traditional Cache)Qualifying 8 / 3, PASSEDThanks e.gregory1 for the challenge series.
Day #9 Leaping Forward AdventuresLeap day is finally here! A busy jam packed day is ahead. Traveling around with TheBelgianKet, Brain, OzHockeyChick, GeoTurtle37 and Papi4506.I found this series of challenges a little over a year ago during one of my caching trips to South Australia. Many of these required additional things to qualify at the time, including caches in more states, events and a Mega in more than my home state, and other criteria. Some of them I targeted, others I achieved just by caching normally, and some I still dont qualify for. Being back in SA today, and particularly with a Mega, event and other things now under my belt, this challenge is showing with a green tick and so its time to claim a smiley.[RoamingHowie](https://www.geocaching.com/profile/?u=RoamingHowie) has used [Project-GC](https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC9VRXD/69366 "Project-GC Challenge Checker") to see if they qualified for this challenge and they did."Find 6000 Traditional caches in Australia" Qualifying 6269 / 6000, PASSED"Find at least 1 Traditional cache iin each of 3 different Australian States or Territories." With the cache in hand we signed the log before replacing as found. Thanks for the challenge series e.gregory1.Don't yet qualify for this challenge with only 2345 of the needed 6000 traditional caches found to date. The following TBs came through for the mileage: Bob geoMinion, Dave geoMinion, Evil geoMinion, Jerry geoMinion, Larry geoMinion, Mary Hyde's Treasure, Stuart geoMinion, teamMerlin's 7 Deadly Ducks Tag (Lust), Vanlith The Youngling, Hidden Creatures Geocoin TB, teamMerlin's Football
Another day in Adelaide and SQUIRM are on the road again this time with a hitchhiker from QueenslandAn early start saw us soon stopping to wait for the little man from the village who got Staceys Mum back on the road again after her second flat tyre in two days Weve been too hard on Staceys MumFirst stop was Mannum to attend The Best Breakfast Event in the world ever then more targeted caching challenges, D/Ts, high faves and anything else we stepped over along the way there might even have been a new LGA in thereWill check if I qualify once were back homeThanks e.gregory1 ??
I have signed the log. I will have to check to see whether I qualify. Thanks for the challenge e.gregory1
Its day 6 and Team SQUIRM are heading east, weve picked up a QLD hitchhiker to make a team of seven for the day. After an event in Mannum we are touring around the area seeing the sights. Signed this challenge cache, but seeing as were not yet at 6000 finds total we have some work to do. Currently just over 2500 trad finds. Thanks e.gregory1
The Leap Day Mega was a great excuse to come down from Queensland and weve had a busy time exploring Adelaide and surrounds cache by cache. Meeting up with friends old and new, we sometimes cached with them and sometimes alone but always had a great time. Although I have been to Adelaide before, this trip has shown me so many new and interesting places as Ive chased LGAs, oldies, challenges, interesting D/T combinations, rarer cache types and favourites. Thanks to all COs for placing and maintaining these caches for everyone to enjoy.I will need to check if I qualify for this challenge when I get the chance.
Found and signed as part of the BOLD07 invasion of South Australia. Still more work needed before I'm eligible to log the challenge.
This series of challenge caches has got me thinking, I know there are some I qualify for and some that will need some work of which I love. Thank you for an awesome set of challenges. Continuing on with my South Australian caching tour and the mad collection of caches in the state. I am again part of the BOLD 7 team doing the mad assault on as many caches as we can. 2 days down and the MG is powering on she's dirty inside and out now but handling it well, just the occasional wipers for turning signals now. Today it is to finish off the last of the bikes series and head down to mannum for our next stay. Along the way grab an ice cream and a possible multi, lol. I am really loving the countryside of this state and the people are friendly while still watchful of you. We signed the caches as BOLD 7 and replaced them as we found them. How very exciting the big trip has finally arrived! Down from Brisbane with a host of other geo friends with plans aplenty, enough to almost see us needing to extend or make a return visit. Our geonick for the trip is BOLD7 which is guaranteed to save the log paper for the 7 individual members of the team. As we make our way around sadly there wont be time for the usual individual logs and therefore just the old generic log will have to do. With little extra notes here and there if needed. Thank you for your cache which has added to my wonderful caching holiday. Will check for qualifying back at home later.
BOLD9 having a fab time in Adelaide and surrounds. Lots of laughs and some brilliant inventive caches.!thanks to all the COs ! Will check these once home to see if I qualify!

Today was the day to find the 'Straya' caches, we headed out with Brisal5, who was our driver and a very good driver, thank you Brian for this. 99% of the caches were found without using the GPS as the co-ords are spot on. We were not disturbed by muggles, only seeing two cars on our loop around. No nasty animals choose to keep us company and at a couple of the caches there was a solitary kangaroo, plus while driving down the road one very fast bunny ran across in front of the car. I believe that if any of us had blinked at the wrong moment we would not have seen him, he would have put Speedy Gonzales to shame. Cache found with GoodLook, Feathertop and McLookers. It was a fantastic couple of days in the country. Although I don't qualify for many of these "Straya" series of challenges, who knows, one day I might.
Thank you e.gregory for placing these caches

Suscoe was out and about enjoying a day of caching with our very good friends Phetlern.
It was a delightful day, blue skies and sunshine. Hard to imagine it is still Winter.
We found lots of caches today, The AMP Series, The SAR Series, The “Straya” Challenge caches and a few other nearby traditional and multis as we wandered to the North East of Murray Bridge. We had fun using a range of TOTT at a few caches as well.
Thanks to e.gregory1.

Careful caching as always, out and about with Jack.
It's a dangerous world filled with rusty old mint tins and objects falling from trees
...... but a cache a day still keeps the boredom away
--------
Most of our caches are logged using the resources of gsak, garmin, and androids, occasionally AI too!

Make sure that Travel Bugs are the Only bugs you share and pass on (Covid cancels caching!)
Keep a safe distance - clean and cache the countryside
It's awesome of all those placing quality caches out and about around our country areas,
in sensible safe places and containers especially! - it keeps our game fun, and interesting
Of course we do appreciate if you actually did read all this extra addition to the log word count! There's a challenge somewhere out there, or so we've been told! You win a virtual smiley for the effort and getting to the end of the log Maybe if I worked out where it is I could do it and go back to normal logs again ! If you find the challenge let me know and perhaps we can put an end to these long logs !!!

The end. For now...

I signed up for this challenge back in March when I was just a few dozen trads short, and so expected imminent victory. I’d forgotten that the non-Aussie trads didn’t count, and so it is only now, after a caching frenzy in the southwest of Western Australia that I’m over the line. Thanks for the challenge e.gregory1.

Day 14 of our loop through Vic and SA then home.
Today fitzy_1965, albida33 & I headed out early to get the caches in the area. We signed as MAF or FAM to save room.
Our aim was to collect the nearby Challenges, then the River & Peaks series and anything in between. Once we understood the hints on the River series, it made the finds so much easier….a clever idea. A great day with no DNF’s.
All caches were found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned.

Southern Autumn adventure Day 15. Post Mega South East SA trip Day 9. Our second day spent in Tailem bend was to target the Straya Challenge series. This did not take all day so we were able to get to the Australian Peaks series and the South Australian Rivers series. It was interesting to see some of the 2014 Mega sites re-used. With the end of the day closing in we targeted a bit of the newer section of Wandering heroes, as usual a wide variety of caches in this series. Today is was Fitzy_195, MinnieK and Albida33 and we signed as F.A.M. or similar.
I have been eying these challenges for some time now, and it is great to come and find them all, even if there are a few I still need to work on, specifically, I need to go to Tasmania !

TFTC e.gregory1 for your cache 'Straya' #01 - 6000 Traditional Caches Challenge that we found today.
Camped in Tailem Bend for a few days before making our way to Rutherglen for the Mega. The plan today was Plan B. We went out from Tailem Bend to find some caches on the way and then sign the challenges.

Found with Mogni. Mogni wants to get to 20, 000 by the Rutherglen Mega in Victoria and make that event her 20, 000 th. So we went out to complete the " Ice cream " series and the " Straya " challenge series plus some extras along the way. 78 ccahes stamped today but since some of them are challenege caches less than 78 were finds. The route to the geo arts was the long way, this was because the main road to Strathalbyn was closed due to road works and the detour was through Milang.

We spent a few days around Murray Bridge, exploring the area and having a good time as the water levels have dropped and life is gradually getting back to normal here. Over two days, we visited this series of challenges.
Some that we qualify for, and others that will give us a challenge to look further and beyond.
We loved the variety of challenges here, and this one gave us a green light.

Some that we qualify for, and others that will give us a challenge to look further and beyond.
We loved the variety of challenges here, and this one gave us a green light.

This was a great series on the back roads with a variation of different hides with the same container, without any issue all the caches were found and another aussie series completed.
With my days numbered in SA I had a few targets that I have wanted to tick off put around Murray bridge and the surrounding areas to find. With the work finished in the early morning I set off for a nice day tackling the virtual at Monarto, ice cream series, lost wanders series and the Aussie Challenges plus a few others along the way, total of just over 100 finds for the day.
Thanks for the cache

As the LGA adventure yesterday we now enter Day 18 based in Murray Bridge. Tackling signal, ice cream (hopefully both sorts) and some challenges.
The final agenda item challenges has finally arrived. I’m sure these will be a mixture of caches I qualify for and some with more work to do, which I quite enjoy.
Lots more trads required for this one!
Thanks e.gregory1 for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy.

A day out was planned with Michells&hound and allister w with the target being the Straya challenges and of course there was a list of other caches to find along the way. We were pleasantly surprised to see 4 new Adventure Labs in Tailem Bend so we added those to our list and completed them before heading out to some Wandering Heroes and Straya. A fun day finding all the caches we looked for and even managed to be finished and on our way home before the rain set in. [^]

Another lovely day around Tailem bend with BettyBoo3747 and the geodoggies.
The forecast was a bit iffy, so we drove to Murray Bridge for an AdLab (and some shopping!), then continued on to the Straya challenges, and a few Wandering Heroes on the way back to camp.
After we had finished in Murray Bridge we set off for the Straya series.
We had unraveled the geo art before we came over to SA, so we got stuck straight into them.
A good collection of hides, and a nice idea with the twin containers.
We found them all, but don't fulfill all the challenges yet. We will keep working on that.
Done lots of trads!
Thanks, Robmc.

#20133. Day 17 of our holiday in SA and today Robmc and I headed to Murray Bridge initially for some much needed food shopping. We gathered a few caches along the way and did an AdLab in MB but the main focus of the day was the Straya Series that we collected later in the morning and just a few Wandering Heroes on the way back to camp.
It was such a pleasure to do this series even though I don't qualify for 13 of the 35 challenges. Some I am sure I will never qualify for but they are all signed just in case.
As the series was only published in July it was great to have nice fresh log sheets and I think the double containers is a great idea and should definitely help keep things in good order. There certainly were some nasty hides (especially for people like us who do not as yet own a pole). Innovation is a great thing and we got the job done successfully.

We had recently been alerted to this series and figured like most challenges for the amount of caching we have done that we would qualify but like some others the bar has been raised and we some work to go for some. We worked out way around and while the containers were mostly similar it was good to have the various different hiding styles.

When we first saw these challenges, we were reasonably confident that we would qualify for many but we were surprised that we qualified for 30 of the 35 challenges. So one of high priorities for this trip to South Australia was to look for the challenge caches. Today we found all 35 caches and will log notes on 5 of them.
A check on Project-GC confirmed that we qualified for this challenge:

Accurate coordinates and the hint led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks e.gregory1 for this cache and all of the 'Straya' Challenge series.

First off we want to say thank you for all the effort, time and expense you put into setting up this great series. We really enjoyed all the different hide types, some easy, some the opposite. ??
Spot on coordinates helped a lot.
Somehow during the course of the adventure I managed to break my pole and also lose my stamp. ??
Apologies for the generic log.
Many thanks for a fantastic idea.
