The AFL Grand Final is on in Melbourne this weekend so it is a great time to get out of the place for a long weekend away and any excuse to go caching.I checked the weather conditions of North, South, East and West in my part of the country and West won out so Im heading over to Murray Bridge for 3 nights as I was able to get Thursday off and make it a 4 day break. The weather is looking good and I left Melbourne nice and early to make the most of my break.I have crossed the border into SA so let the fun begin. The ice cream series and the new Straya challenge caches was the main reason for heading this way when I picked which direction I was heading. After completing the Ice cream series yesterday now its time to head to the Straya series to finish that one off as there has been some new caches added plus I missed some last time. Not sure how many I qualify for and I will check when I get home and log accordingly.Nice quiet roads along here and the fishing pole was in use for some of these. Thanks e.gregory1 TFTCC.

We hit the trails again today, the occasional showers adding a refreshing element to the drive. Each time the rain fell, the earthy scent of wet eucalyptus and native trees filled the air, making the entire landscape feel alive. The rain left the gravel tracks slick but manageable, and the morning passed as we wound through the bushland, the sound of raindrops tapping softly on the car roof.We kept a steady pace, enjoying the quiet roads and the peacefulness of the trail, with just the occasional bird or kangaroo to break the stillness. We climbed a few trees, used my new caching pole on some caches, and found plenty of easy ones. I'm not sure if Ill qualify for many of the challenge caches, though, since Ive never cached in Western Australia. But thats something I plan to fix in 2025, and Im looking forward to claiming those smilies then! Thanks for the cache, and the series e.gregory1.-MYou have found 705 caches of type "Off-road vehicles allowed". You require 45 more caches of this type.

I checked on all the caches in this series today, undertook some minor maintenance where required on a few and repositioned some back to where they should be. I was quite surprised at what good condition they were actually all in! I have also adjusted the difficulty ratings on a number of the caches to better reflect the challenge difficulty as determined by Project-GC. Enjoy!

After over seven weeks on the road, I'm back home and finally catching up on all my logging.Caching in South Australia was fantastic, so many good hides to find, and we found ourselves zigzagging all over the place doing lots of geoart but of course ran out of time to get everything done on our to-do list. The majority of caches we found were in great condition and well maintained, which is a credit to all the CO's who placed them, so thank you.Our logs were mostly signed as 5 for QLD to save room on the log sheets, and no doubt, we'll be back again in the future ??Snickersallan fulfills challenge 'Straya' #26 - Off-road Vehicles Challenge (GC9VYFW) according to https://project-gc.com/Challenges ??

A Leap Year Mega draws us to Adelaide. Today's our intrepid group is working from Murray Bridge, in particular these Challenge Caches. We are using the Acronym 5 for QLD to sign the log sheets. As this is a bulk GSAK logging, I do not have time to check the individual cache to see if I qualify just yet. That will come later. Today, I am just recording that my name is in the log Sheet. It was a pleasant drive through that countryside, and we were pleased to find all the caches on our list.

04-Mar-24
I signed the log today and will follow up with a found log once I meet the requirements or confirm that I have already done so. Thanks for this challenge as this and other challenge caches always add to my to do list which adds another interesting aspect of geocaching.

We signed the log today. One day we'll be able to claim a find...

In SA for the Great Leap Forward mega event and spent some time down at Tailem Bend and in that time visited some geoart and many other individual caches. Another day of caching in SA after attending the mega in Adelaide. What a whirlwind of a week for us as we attack trails with mates, DT, specific types for personal challenges, old caches and just damn good ones. With so much on offer we barely knew where to start but as we headed slowly home we picked up the Straya challenge series while staying in Murray Bridge overnight. We started at No. 1 and worked our way down, across and up signing each logbook as we went enjoying the cooler early evening conditions. The Leap Day Mega was a great excuse to come down from Queensland and weve had a busy time exploring Adelaide and surrounds cache by cache. Meeting up with friends old and new, we sometimes cached with them and sometimes alone but always had a great time. Although I have been to Adelaide before, this trip has shown me so many new and interesting places as Ive chased LGAs, oldies, challenges, interesting D/T combinations, rarer cache types and favourites. Thanks to all COs for placing and maintaining these caches for everyone to enjoy.I will need to check if I qualify for this challenge when I get the chance.

27-Feb-24
The cache was found and the log signed so the challenge is accepted.

A group of us are down from Darwin and Brisbane in preparation of the leap year event. Today was day 3 and the final day of hitting the bikes series and then moving from Waikerie to Murray Bridge. Collecting challenge caches and whatever else caught our fancy on the way through. To save space in the logs we have signed as the BOLD7. Was meant to be BDLD7 but something got lost in translation. Will check if I qualify for this when I get home in Brissy. TFTC e.gregory1

Found and signed as part of the BOLD07 invasion of South Australia but forgotten. Still more work needed before I'm eligible to log the challenge.

27-Feb-24
This series of challenge caches has got me thinking, I know there are some I qualify for and some that will need some work of which I love. Thank you for an awesome set of challenges.I know I don't qualify here something to work on.

27-Feb-24
How very exciting the big trip has finally arrived! Down from Brisbane with a host of other geo friends with plans aplenty, enough to almost see us needing to extend or make a return visit. Our geonick for the trip is BOLD7 which is guaranteed to save the log paper for the 7 individual members of the team. As we make our way around sadly there wont be time for the usual individual logs and therefore just the old generic log will have to do. With little extra notes here and there if needed. Thank you for your cache which has added to my wonderful caching holiday. Will check for qualifying back at home later.

27-Feb-24
BOLD9 having a fab time in Adelaide and surrounds. Lots of laughs and some brilliant inventive caches.!thanks to all the COs ! Will check these once home to see if I qualify!

Today was the day to find the 'Straya' caches, we headed out with Brisal5, who was our driver and a very good driver, thank you Brian for this. 99% of the caches were found without using the GPS as the co-ords are spot on. We were not disturbed by muggles, only seeing two cars on our loop around. No nasty animals choose to keep us company and at a couple of the caches there was a solitary kangaroo, plus while driving down the road one very fast bunny ran across in front of the car. I believe that if any of us had blinked at the wrong moment we would not have seen him, he would have put Speedy Gonzales to shame. A good day was had overall. Suscoe was out and about enjoying a day of caching with our very good friends Phetlern.
It was a delightful day, blue skies and sunshine. Hard to imagine it is still Winter.
We found lots of caches today, The AMP Series, The SAR Series, The “Straya” Challenge caches and a few other nearby traditional and multis as we wandered to the North East of Murray Bridge. We had fun using a range of TOTT at a few caches as well.
Thanks to e.gregory1.

Todays mission is to put my name in the remaining logs of the ‘straya challenges, about a third of them. Hard to believe that they’re a year old already. The good thing about having left these for so long is that all the once black caches are now red.

I won’t be claiming this one anytime soon, but thanks for the challenge e.gregory1.

Day 14 of our loop through Vic and SA then home.

Today fitzy_1965, albida33 & I headed out early to get the caches in the area. We signed as MAF or FAM to save room.

Our aim was to collect the nearby Challenges, then the River & Peaks series and anything in between. Once we understood the hints on the River series, it made the finds so much easier….a clever idea. A great day with no DNF’s.

All caches were found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned.

Southern Autumn adventure Day 15. Post Mega South East SA trip Day 9. Our second day spent in Tailem bend was to target the Straya Challenge series. This did not take all day so we were able to get to the Australian Peaks series and the South Australian Rivers series. It was interesting to see some of the 2014 Mega sites re-used. With the end of the day closing in we targeted a bit of the newer section of Wandering heroes, as usual a wide variety of caches in this series. Today is was Fitzy_195, MinnieK and Albida33 and we signed as F.A.M. or similar.

I have been eying these challenges for some time now, and it is great to come and find them all, even if there are a few I still need to work on, specifically, I need to go to Tasmania !

TFTC e.gregory1 for the challenge 'Straya' #26 - Off-road Vehicles Challenge.
We are camped at Tailem Bend. The plan today was to come out and sign all of the Straya Challenge series. We had meant to do this form Karoonda but the Ag Show was on this coming weekend and our camping spot was unavailable. At this stage we are not sure whether we meet the challenges . We have signed the logs and will check when we settle down with reliable connections.

Not sure how I suddenly qualify for this one, thinking the Barossa Grape series must have a lot of these attributes, last time I checked in January I still needed around 130 of this attribute to qualify. Today however Project GC says I qualify so I will take it!!
Enjoying working towards qualifying for this series, even if the CITO events seem to have become rather controversial recently!!!

Found with Mogni. Mogni wants to get to 20, 000 by the Rutherglen Mega in Victoria and make that event her 20, 000 th. So we went out to complete the " Ice cream " series and the " Straya " challenge series plus some extras along the way. 78 ccahes stamped today but since some of them are challenege caches less than 78 were finds. The route to the geo arts was the long way, this was because the main road to Strathalbyn was closed due to road works and the detour was through Milang.

This was a great series on the back roads with a variation of different hides with the same container, without any issue all the caches were found and another aussie series completed.

With my days numbered in SA I had a few targets that I have wanted to tick off put around Murray bridge and the surrounding areas to find. With the work finished in the early morning I set off for a nice day tackling the virtual at Monarto, ice cream series, lost wanders series and the Aussie Challenges plus a few others along the way, total of just over 100 finds for the day.

Thanks for the cache

We continued on the challenge cache trail with ilook4geo. Each cache was successfully found, the log in each was signed and then replaced. Thank you to e.gregory1 for putting out this run of challenges which we very much enjoyed finding. We will be working those challenges which we do not yet fulfill.

We had recently been alerted to this series and figured like most challenges for the amount of caching we have done that we would qualify but like some others the bar has been raised and we some work to go for some. We worked out way around and while the containers were mostly similar it was good to have the various different hiding styles.
We signed this in September but needed a few more which we have since picked up
Our qualifying list is as follows.

25-Sep-22
A day out was planned with Michells&hound and allister w with the target being the Straya challenges and of course there was a list of other caches to find along the way. We were pleasantly surprised to see 4 new Adventure Labs in Tailem Bend so we added those to our list and completed them before heading out to some Wandering Heroes and Straya. A fun day finding all the caches we looked for and even managed to be finished and on our way home before the rain set in. [^]

This one may take a while. Surprised

Thanks for the cache e.gregory1. Smile

*signed log* A day out caching with Allisterw and JJ52 primarily to collect the Straya challenge caches. We did get side tracked by the new adventure labs in tailem Bend which were a welcome addition to our day. None of us has qualified for many of the challenges so lots to work towards.
A fun day out as usual and we managed to avoid the rain.
thanks to all the CO without you we wouldn’t have a game.
Maybe one day!!

Another lovely day around Tailem bend with BettyBoo3747 and the geodoggies.
The forecast was a bit iffy, so we drove to Murray Bridge for an AdLab (and some shopping!), then continued on to the Straya challenges, and a few Wandering Heroes on the way back to camp.
After we had finished in Murray Bridge we set off for the Straya series.
We had unraveled the geo art before we came over to SA, so we got stuck straight into them.
A good collection of hides, and a nice idea with the twin containers.
We found them all, but don't fulfill all the challenges yet. We will keep working on that.
Found quite a few with this attribute.
Thanks, Robmc.

#20119. Day 17 of our holiday in SA and today Robmc and I headed to Murray Bridge initially for some much needed food shopping. We gathered a few caches along the way and did an AdLab in MB but the main focus of the day was the Straya Series that we collected later in the morning and just a few Wandering Heroes on the way back to camp.

It was such a pleasure to do this series even though I don't qualify for 13 of the 35 challenges. Some I am sure I will never qualify for but they are all signed just in case.

As the series was only published in July it was great to have nice fresh log sheets and I think the double containers is a great idea and should definitely help keep things in good order. There certainly were some nasty hides (especially for people like us who do not as yet own a pole). Innovation is a great thing and we got the job done successfully.

When we first saw these challenges, we were reasonably confident that we would qualify for many but we were surprised that we qualified for 30 of the 35 challenges. So one of high priorities for this trip to South Australia was to look for the challenge caches. Today we found all 35 caches and will log notes on 5 of them.

A check on Project-GC confirmed that we qualified for this challenge:

First off we want to say thank you for all the effort, time and expense you put into setting up this great series. We really enjoyed all the different hide types, some easy, some the opposite.
Spot on coordinates helped a lot.
Somehow during the course of the adventure I managed to break my pole and also lose my stamp.
Apologies for the generic log.
Many thanks for a fantastic idea.

Most found quickly with good co-ords too.
Qualified already on 29 of them, with 6 needing work.
