Out for a weekend adventure with team SEAC. TFTC the cache and adventure.

29-Jun-24
Had seen a post in the Geocaching NZ Facebook page regarding a field Puzzle Cache (Technology Pioneers GC1PRKD) that was due to be archived in Hamilton. Mr NZT did some preparatory work and found there were 2 other similar type caches by the same CO. Well that sounded like an excuse for Team SEAC to take short trip from Auckland to Hamilton for lunch. We all meet up in Papakura and headed south. Just before Bombay the message went out that NurseDr Geowagon had developed issues. We agreed to all meet here and re-access. The geowagon wasn't going to make the distance. NurseDr jumped in with us and Mr NurseDr had to now Nurse the Geowagon home.Well the idea of JUST doing 3 caches and then lunch and heading home was NEVER going to be acceptable.... soooooo.....After completing the Adlab HAD to do this as well. Quick find in the dark and low fog made an eerie evening.TFTC

I'm off for a weekend trip to Auckland to try and build up my numbers to get to 14,000 finds by my 20th anniversary of geocaching event (GCANR31) in a couple of weeks time. We stopped near here to grab a bite to eat and grab a couple of caches. Thanks for setting this up.

Nice tour of Taupiri doing the Adlab quick find here tonight on our way home. Tftc

03-Jan-24
Out caching around Taupiri with rattll on a hot afternoon. Having completed the Adventure Lab, and crunched the numbers, I parked the geomobile on the corner, only to realise that GZ was still 150 metres away, on a different corner! Rather than get back into the hot geomobile, we took a short walk, and found the cache in the first place searched. All good, returned as found. Tftc!

Assumed too quickly where it would be after driving up so ended up looking in the wrong spot for a few minutes, but after actually checking the gps was a quick find TFTC

02-Jan-24
Walked around the different points of interest, taking a detour to look for a couple of nearby caches. Didn't take long to be on the way towards the bonus cache. On arriving, didn't let the gps settle and looked around a couple of likely looking spots to no avail. Quickly rectified this and was soon signing the log TFTC

After a week of with a head cold I needed some fresh air and so with today being a lovely late winter\early spring day I set off to loop round to Taupiri and back.

Having discovered a few things Taupiri had to offer, it was time to set off to the final GZ. There were a few people around the GZ, one of whom asked if I was wanted to come in and 'join'.

I declined that invite saying I liked to spend my time looking for hidden mint tins.

I signed the log and left before a medical professional was called Smile

Thanks eyespyben

We don't know the Taupiri area very well so it was nice to drive around and see a few places of interest.
Once we had all of the information we needed it was a quick calculation and then off to find this bonus.
We were pleased that it was raining today and that there wasn't any activity at GZ because we imagine at certain times it would be very difficult to find the cache without being noticed.
But today it was not problem and we located the container after a short search.
Thanks eyespyben for an enjoyable and educational Adventure Lab and Bonus.

Based ourselves nearby to complete some of the local caches. We’ve had an enjoyable day, gained a few smilies, no problem with the find TFTC.

Quick find but I had to wait for a local to get through the gate before I could return it. TFTC.

07-Apr-23
Easter weekend and time to collect some caches. We had planned to go to Hamilton today but we didnt account for all the traffic so we changed our plans a little. After grabbing some lunch we headed to Taupiri and enjoyed our walk around collecting the information required for this adventure lab. Parked up near the final GZ and made our way to where we needed to be. Had to wait for some nearby muggles to change ends and then we were able to make a quick grab before signing and replacing.

Called in to grab this final a few days ago but it wasn’t the right time! Today being Sunday and teeming with rain I knew today the coast would be clear! I assumed it was in another place but when I actually followed my gps it led me someplace else and it was a quick find after that. TFTC

A nice quick find after driving around Taupiri. A fav point for the bonus and the Ad Lab. Thanks for placing your cache.

Ms_KR and I are off on our annual pilgrimage to Auckland to visit family. Today was the last leg of the journey, Cambridge to Auckland. Another great day, but the traffic out of Auckland reminded me why I no longer live here.

Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. .

We had hoped to do an Ad Lab Bonus in Manukau on our way south to Gordonton, but after a DNF there we changed our plans and stopped off in Taupiri for this Bonus instead. Quite a few different places it might have been hidden, but after a read back through past logs one of us soon spotted the hide. TFTC

Labour Weekend has historically been a minimum 3 day Team SEAC all out adventure so a little while ago I started planning some fun for us. After a walking day yesterday, today was a driving one and more about the numbers and clearing out an area we have had our eyes on for a while. Ended up being a massive day (left home around 8.30am and got home at 1:40am!)....it wasn't called a Mega Mysterious Weekend for nothing. Enjoyed the fun with friends...just like the 'old' times.

Nice little tiki tour collecting the information. The final took us a moment to find the right spot here and then it was easy.

Thanks for the cache

23-Oct-22
In the absence of a MEGA event this Labour Weekend, Keylev had spent some time planning a Mega Mysterious Weekend for members of Team SEAC (a group of cachers from south and east Auckland who often cache together). Today's plan was to head south and find as many caches as we could around the Huntly area. In the group today is HeMaLuDy, Stik-a-Crane, NurseDr, Keylev, UncleSamNZ, Liverkiwi. Logs were sighed SEAC or Team SEAC to save space. It ended up being a long day and a bit - leaving the start point at 9 am and returning home after 1:30 am the following day.
After completing the ad lab, we did some quick calculations and then headed here to make the find.

23-Oct-22
Day 2 of our Labour weekend caching mission, and also happens to be a significant day for me yearly...... Our group decided to head down Huntly way for a good variety of cache types and then head inland and back up to Auckland.....some of use a little jaded from the impromptu high elevation gain hike yesterday, we eased ourselves into search mode.....

Signed is as SEAC to save logbook space and allowing us more time to enjoy the area which surprised us as to how many scenic places are hiding in Huntly....

Thanks to all the CO's for hiding and maintaining caches here.....and to mother nature for the awesome weather we had......

Intel gathered and crunched to locate this hide....

TFTC.

Tramyard proposed a road trip around the Waikato to visit the new virtuals and ad labs in the area since our last visit, as well as attending the local 18@18 event. Two others were asked but they were instead attending a CITO in Whangarei, so it was just going to be tramyard and myself.

In total, our road trip was over 500km as we traveled via Mercer, Huntly, Taupiri, Pirongia, Waitomo Caves, and Piopio before turning back towards Cambridge and onto Hamilton for the event before finally heading home to Auckland.

We parked in the Memorial Park and walked around to all the waypoints as a chance to stretch our legs. It was a gorgeous day so we didn't mind. As we were coming around to the plaque we had some very friendly sheep come and say hello and wanted pats. We soon made a quick find at the final. Thanks for the ad lab.

All good at the bonus here thankyou...Quick find....but had to be discreet as a member of the nearby establishment was not far away and we were asked to move our car!

In the area finding the adventure labs with Supernannny. We stopped for refreshments in a local cafe and worked out where the bonus cache was located.
We parked near gz, and were kindly asked by a local to move our car. So after moving our car, we made our way to gz and were shielded from the muggles as we made a quick find here. TFTC

With Gap (of Fap and Gap)… A mid morning start after a late night caching expedition. We have a few caches lined up for today. They are dotted around the countryside, so we’ll be zig zagging our way through the Waikato…

We anticipated searching for a much smaller hide - and that may have been too evil… Spotted this one right away for a quick find. A satisfying bonus AdLab cache. Thanks eyespyben. TFTP and TFTC.

Sitting at home when these bonus caches got published so thought I would come out and do them. Adventure labs completed with out any trouble and so it was off to GZ for this one. Was able to park close to GZ and cache quickly found. Opened it to find a blank log. {FTF} number 310. Thank you for the placement.
