This morning we set off early to tackle the ALs and caches in Sydney park, then of course stop off at the playground for the kids. What a lovely spot, Ive driven past here hundreds of times but never knew how good this park was. Completed the adventure lab and shortly after had CIH! TFTC&AL!
After attempting to find this bonus last week but humans sitting on a wall deterring me, some extra intel had me straight to the hide today. Another great AL in a wonderful park. TFTC!
Finally found after some help from the CO and a previous finder. My GPS was not overly helpful in such a location with 1000 places for a cache to hide. Nice to finally bag this one. Thanks for the fun!
Tftc. Second part of the park explored. Cache found without too much trouble with red_ear_slider
Found with Portstevo after walking the park, got some nice pics of flowers too, tftc
Ni lab. I realyl liked the water steps. I didn't know they were even there! TFTC!
part 2 of a great AL, thanks to both cache owners for creating these AL's and associated bonus caches.
TFTC!Love the AL. Almost twist my ankle because of loose rock at GZneeds a keen eye to spot the cache. Cheers!
A few things I noticed/liked over the course of the two adventure labs..The human shadow clock! Awesome. The three different billabongs created and the various sometimes interactive environmental additions.Learning about the frogs and their own little habitat. It was raining on the summit so i couldn't appreciate it beyond a mere moment. The day I randomly chose to explore Sydney park was also the day of a long coming and already postponed opening party for some refurbished section of the park. Complete with free coffee, snacks and various speeches given by various local dignitaries such as the mayor of Sydney. The hide location itself i groaned upon arrival and cursed and grumbled the entire time I hunted. Eventually found the sneaky so and so and stalked away satisfied.Thank you phlphotos for creating a fun adventure lab meander with this frustrating bonus to find in the end
Tried finding the bonus cache not long ago before the rain set in and put an end to caching for the day. A chat to the CO and he said I was in the right place. Came back from Newey to give it another crack. Phone had me a little way from the prize. Same as last week, the rain is chasing me. TFTC phlphotos.
No luck with this cache today. I took on the rain and the rain won. I'll have to try another day .
Enjoyed our walk around this excellent park. Weve been here many times but havent walked on the stepping stones before or examined the water logs. Got to GZ and its always a relief to see something that matches the hint. But, alas, we could find a container amongst all those options. Well be back. Cheers Gaztek
I had fun enjoying the park on a lovely day, and the final was a quick find. TFTC!!
Despite an extensive search, following the hint, and taking into account the GPS variables aforementioned, was not able to spot this cache today.
Finding some caches in the park before an event this afternoon. I really enjoyed walking around doing the AL , it is a great park with so many muggles walking their dogs . The final was found in good condition with no problems. Fav point for the great AL . Thanks for the cache tnln replaced as found sl
Attempted this bonus a few weeks ago but time, the blazing sun and bouncy arrow had me beat. After re-reading a lot of logs and confirming suspicions with PAFs, swung by again today and walked straight up to the sneaky hide which is definitely a bit further from where the arrow kept settling. Glad it was still close to the carpark and I didnt need to walk around the park again or in particular up that hill!
OCW mizmaz when we stopped to grab this one. Will have to come back and do the Lab one day.
After completing the adventure lab yesterday, I made my way back for the bonus before heading back to Maitland. TFTC
Sydney Day 7: McMahons Point - South Head - Everleigh - Sydney Park - Belmore
Today’s agenda was a whirlwind of a journey, as I had promised to bring my partner over to Watsons Bay (which I have touted as my favourite place in Sydney) and them, later, to have dinner with the in-laws over in Belmore. That meant that there was a lot of travelling to be done today, on top of clearing up some of the outstanding caches on my Sydney to-do list. So, round and round I go, by ferry, light rail and train to complete another fruitful caching day.
(End of the cut and paste bit)
Last cache of my Sydney Park Circuit, and a reward well-earned after running through the AL waypoints, and going up that rather tall hill! I was to rendezvous with the partner on a train towards Belmore, so time was of the essence, and I managed to get this one cleared and signed very quickly. Thanks for the nice tour of the park, truly appreciated a quick and breezy tour of the key highlights here. TFTC!

Visiting from Colorado USA. Thank you for placing this cache and helping to keep our recreation going.
It was an early start to the morning that saw Tankengine, dty73 and myself on the trip to Sydney to meet up with Kittykatch and Joolay by 10am. We had a weekend of a few targeted caches, with the important ones ticked off we spent a fun and leisurely afternoon in Sydney Park for the ALs and caches there, a lovely park.
After a few hours of walking we stretched ourselves for an afternoon at hijinxs. Sure was a lot of fun, but also a lot of effort involved, but a great team and we did good! We earnt the amazing dinner at the Yummy Seafood restaurant in Challora (it was by far the BEST chinese!) it was off for a well earnt sleep, with the unexpected nighttime adventure of the full hotels smoke alarm going off through the night... yay, lets evacuate!
This cache: Took far too long to find this, and with time up and needing to be elsewhere we called it as we need to leave. Luckily joolay spotted this as we were going, as is often the way! Cool AL around the park, really enjoyed this one.

Wow what a day! It started early at 6:15am when we hit the road for Sydney.
Tankengine, Aquilus1 and I were up and ready for a full day. We met up with Kittykatch and Joolay at 10am and cached until we had to get to HiJinx Hotel for some more fun. Perhaps we were a little ambitious as we did a lot of walking and caching then ended at HiJinx where we did 15 rooms (all pretty physical)! We ended the night at Yummy Seafood Chinese restaurant near our hotel at the Arena Hotel in Chullora - Best Chinese ever!!!
This cache: After finishing the ALs we headed off to the GZs. We did the other one first then came all the way over to this one here. We misread the hint so it took us a whole lot longer than it should have to find. But Joolay made the final “found it” call thank god!! Both ALs were really nicely placed to highlight some good spots around the park. Tftc!!!

Chooo ooo [Found] with dty73 Aquilus1 Kittykatch and Joolay on a quick trip to Sydney! Took forever to find 5 people 30min 5 wall faces! Thanks phlphotos!
Sydney Road Trip with mates. This cache took the five of us a while to find. And yes it all made sense when Joolay made the find. Great AL too and we had such a lovely walk in the park. Thanks for the hide phlphotos
Loved the walk around the park. So lovely. We almost have up on this and just as we called it I looked in one more place and there it was.
Up in Sydney for the weekend with Aquilus1, Kittykatch, dty73 and Tankengine.
Thanks for getting me out and about phlphotos

Awesome two adventure labs and two bonuses found. Thanks for the adventure taking me around the park. TFTC.
Spent the better part of the afternoon caching around Sydenham with Geodude__ and Demo_Mate.
The hint helped narrow down the hide. Thanks!

Quite enjoyed the Adventure Labs through the park as we dodged the dogs. Was able to determine a missing digit before things were finished and thankfully indeed had the right GZ. Some excellent views from the nearby hill of course. Thanks for both the Adventure Lab and the cache! TFTC!
Did this one combined with the part 1 AL. Another quick find at GZ, thankfully not too many muggles around despite it being a lovely day. TFTC!
Arrived in Sydney this morning. Wanted to do some walking around to help with jet lag and acclimating to the time zone. So the two ALs here in the park were great. Quick grab at GZ.
F(H)ound It! #3841 @ 12:30 PM with Miz Wacket and the Ridgeoboi
I have struggled before with similar hides so I was glad to find this one relatively quickly.
We enjoyed our wander around the park and you even introduced some new things to local MW.
thank for the cache phlphotos
Ridgeoboi pic attached, he nearly lost his mind he had so much fun

We enjoyed doing both AL's today and smoothly blended them together. A great day for a walk in the park. many muggles out and about most with their dogs.
We scratched around at GZ like a couple of old chooks until Mrs A made the find. TFTAL phlphotos.

A check on this one while in the area reveals this GZ is NOT fenced off, and the cache is in place. The last logger must have confused it with AL1. All good to go!
The whole area is now fenced off and under construction so this cache may be lost
What a beautiful park. Not being locals, we have only been here once before and I remember loving it then and today was no different. So nice to see so many happy dogs enjoying life amongst the many different beautiful landscapes of the park. We did both ALs and ended with this cache which turned out to be in a very convenient location given where we initially parked. The ALs gave a great tour of the many beautiful spots in this park and it was certainly a beautiful day today for a leisurely walk. Narrowed down the final location of the cache thanks to the clue which funnily enough was confirmed by a person walking past. Clearly we weren't being stealthy enough. Anyway, thanks mysterious stranger for confirming we were in the right spot and thanks CO for a highly enjoyable walk. Fav point for whole experience.
Even holding a CCE close to here with geowifey attending, couldn’t perform the walk around to gather all the waypoint info.
This today, had an assignment of picking up unsold paintings of hers and a bit of caching thrown in.
Thanks for the morning exercise Philphotos

Well this was tougher than the other one with the construction fence in the end. Searched all over the many walls in the area before finally noticing one small bit of wall that fitted the clue. Thanks for the challenge (and all the spiders here in the dark!)
I spent a long time looking in the wrong rock wall

Once I'd done the second adventure lab cache I also did its bonus. Quickly found. Thanks for the effort to create these alc and finals, I left a favourite point.
Really enjoyed this Adventure Lab - completed during a lunch break while visiting Sydney for work. Great way to explore this park and hope to return to do the other one.
This physical cache was found quickly with hint. Thanks to the CO for placing and maintaining

Great to have two ALs to do here. Took a few moments to make the find but as this was the last task for the day I could take my time. Sun had come out by now and the humidity kicked in so I was glad to finish up.
This cache was found today and brings our overall cache find tally to 12200.
A nice ride around the area today gathering a few labs and their bonuses. This was a simple find with no one around after I checked the clue. Great coords though!
Thanks phlphotos for the cache.

(12 of 13 today - including 10 Adventure Labs)
Spent the morning at a CCEvent and then wandering around Sydney Park - a location I've been to for both events and caches previously.
Found everything I looked for - even if one took longer than it should.
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
Before finding this one I managed to snag all 10 Adventure Lab locations in the park for both "Parts". Those were:
# Alan Davison Oval
# Sydney Park Hill
# Stepping Stones
# Frog Pond
# Water Falls
# Freshwater Wetlands
# AIDS Memorial Grove
# Wirrambi Wetland
# The Human Sundial
# Chimneys and Kilns
###END OF ADVENTURE LAB SECTION###
By the time I was partway through the first AL I realised that I was doing it the wrong way around. Too late now!
I'd even met another cacher at my first location, and then a group at my fourth.
But after getting all the locations it was logical for me to head to this one.
Entered the GZ area the wrong way, and that set me up to fail - almost.
Checked a lot and nothing. Could see others had found it today, so I knew it was here somewhere.
And then I spotted something I'd missed due to my approach.
And from that moment I quickly had CIH!
Signed, replaced and decided to drive to the other location rather than keep walking, retracing my steps.

Nice hide after completing the AL with Liz and Bruce , Nana Nel also joined us for the walk.
With the two ALs and the bonuses, I think I travelled to every corner of this park today. TFTC
Enjoyed doing the AL in this amazing park and then it was time for this bonus. Nice camouflage and good container in good condition. TFTAL and cache phlphotos, enjoyed this.
TFTC,
After gaining a tip we returned this morning.
So easy when you are at the correct location. Our calculated coordinates had us 6m away.

After a DNF a couple of weeks back, I had a chat to someone recently and came back today. Quickly saw the wall I was supposed to have seen before today it was a quick find, stamped log and replaced. Thanks to CO.
Very disappointing.
After walking around the park (something I did every lunch hour almost every day for 6 years prior to retiring), I had all the information to go to GZ.
Arriving there it was time to start looking and on knees, with 2 sets of eyes, we looked for over 1/2 an hour. Not a single indicator was seen to show us that a D2 cache was located within 5M of the location our GPS's took us to.
Gave up and will add to a watch list.

Good day for a wander around the park needed to do the adventure lab that lead us to make this cache find. It was nicely hidden and when found the log had more names added to the list of finders. TFTC.
After finishing the lab cache we moved along to find this bonus cache. It was in a good hide and was found even while muggles were sitting under a nearby tree. The log was soon signed, all was settled back into place and we headed back to the car to go home. Thanks for this cache go to phlphotos.
A great adlab in this park today, thoroughly enjoyed the walk round thank you for placing this here for me to find.
Thanks for a great AL. We enjoyed the scenic walk. Took a few minutes to find but we got the bonus. TFTC
Did both the ALs on the bicycle late in the evening. Thought I’d be a little nervous however this place is really fantastic in the dark silence, but I guess there are always risks. Anyway, grabbed the first bonus and left this one for another time which was this evening on another cycle. All in great condition. Thanks for placing this AL bonus phlphotos #1675
Out for a big day of caching on this fine Monday with djant

Made my way around the whole park doing the legwork for both ALs. Only grabbing this bonus today though. I’ll save the other one till I have to come here for an event or something. Some nice places around the park. My favourite is the view from the hill. About ten years ago I did a spartan race event here where we had to run up and down the hill. I remember leaving the event early with my crew to go have breaky instead LMAO
TFTC and have a FO for a well constructed AL

Well it's definitely a signey = a smiley for me.
I come to this park quite regularly what with walking the dog, geocaching and an old friend living very nearby. They've done a great job bringing back what was a wasteland to a wonderful green space for everyone to enjoy.
Now these AL's take a fair bit of time and walking so I decided today was the day before the next round of rain and storms comes our way.
And what a day of exercise it turned out to be with 4 sets of tennis this morning then completing both AL's and the walk to each Bonus cache, and back to the geomobile.
I enjoy this park so it's OK and I might even sleep well tonight!
Intersting things - dogs were swimming in the wetland where signs clearly state No Dogs. Found a golf ball along the way - don't think you're allowed to do that in this park either!

Did the walk and was going to leave the cache for another day but after heading back to where I'd parked, found I was almost sitting on it. A tricky hide that was a bit of a lucky find. Thanksphlphotos.
Spent the day in and around the southern part of the city grabbing a few caches. On what was a perfect day weather wise I was able to advantage of the bike to duck in and out of narrow streets and parks.

Only had time for a minute or two look after finishing AL as meeting a friend nearby for lunch. Will have to come back another time
Got to GZ and noticed something that could hold a cache, I thought there was nothing there went a bit further a field and found something I thought was the cache nope not it, went back to original spot and spotted the cache how did I miss it the first time
In the city for a couple of days I headed to Sydney Park.
It’s a while since I last visited but there’s always a lot to see here, including lots of friendly dogs.
I enjoyed the walk and my loop worked out well after completing part 1 first.

I went for a walk with Zelda & Cryptic8 though our favourite park on a lovely sunny afternoon. After completing all the stages we headed to GZ, where we saw a couple of guys in super-bright hi-viz gear and with their e-bikes. I recognised them as Calypso62 and Rama497. After signing, we had some caching chit-chat and headed off for more walking around Sydney Park.
Then we ran into them again when we stopped to get a coffee at the cafe. Zelda even got interviewed by a 6 yo who was doing a school project on dogs! Her career should take off now. TFTC

A quick find here with the hint. Glad "south" was added. While signing the log, who should turn up but one of the COs associated with these ALs, Brewmaker, along with Geodog, Zelda. Great to catch up mate.
After all the fun of biking around this great parkland, it was time for a coffee. We again met up with Brewmaker for another chat. I must bring the family out here to enjoy this space. Cheers.

OCW Calypso62 to do some maintenance, complete some AL’s and Traditional’s and attend an event.
After completing the AL, we were given the info required to find the bonus.
When signing the log, we meet the CO for part 1 and Zelda. It was great to finally meet Zelda.
Thanks for the great hit.

A fun AL but a bit of a needle in a haystack at the end. GPS not settling enough to decide even which of the 2 or 3 options to focus on. Spent a while but muggles starting to eyeball me so had to move on. TFTC anyway!
Hah. As always, as soon as I give up, I find it - right in the place I had been looking but not deep enough. TFTAL!
Everything has grown since the last time frazeydaze and I last visited the park. Its certainly turned into a lovely area with something for everyone. We felt out of place without a dog, however, there were plenty to go around. Nice to see the spring flowers starting to bloom also. All in all an enjoyable morning wandering around before lunch at the kiosk.

After a nice walk 2 days back doing the AL's, today I came for a stroll to find the final.
This cache was sneaky. Had a look at all 3 levels then reconsidered the hint and narrowed the idea down. Something moved a bit and I perservied and found the cache.

We really liked the AL, this is a great park. However, we had no joy at this bonus cache. This type of hide is typically my achilles heel and that's what happened today despite a very long search.
