Unfortunately we have to log a DNF on this one. Following a pretty intensive search of the object and surrounds we didn't find what we were looking for. The Blue Truck alas! is in a very poor state of decomposition and unfortunately MrsA cut her hand during the search..

As my agenda for the day was mostly collecting partial clues for virtual hides, I needed at least one physical find to tick off a streak day. Construction detours around Luna Park took a few options off the table and I was finished earlier than I expected, so with time to kill before my ferry, checked the app and noticed a few easy trads I hadnt loaded in my PQ so off I headed for a wander around Kirribilli. Maybe didnt read description closely enough as expected something bigger at GZ but clue had cache in hand straight away.

Sydney Day 8: North Sydney and Kirribilli

It’s the final day in Sydney, and with the flight later in the morning, it was an early day out for me just to clear up some of the last couple of caches on the to-so list, particularly the one at Sub Base Platypus because it was an interesting location. So, a very early ferry right across the harbour for me, which ran straight into a thunderstorm. Braved the weather for my final caches of the trip and made good of the mission, despite returning to the hotel drenched for breakfast.

(End of the cut and paste bit)

The rain started to fall as I alit at Kirribilli Wharf, I had a snap decision of whether to continue with the morning’s plan despite the rain or return to Circular Quay… but I guess a little spring rain won’t hurt anyone. So, I hopped off and climbed up the stairs to Carabella Street to make my mark on this cache.

This lovely example of guerrilla gardening is still thriving with many a planting in bloom. The cache was also mercifully easy to spot despite the rain as it was peeking out of its hide. Grabbed it, and proceeded to sign, but realised that I had dropped my pen somewhere along the way. A photolog will have to suffice, and good thing to, because I didn’t want the logsheet getting soaked while I signed it. Thanks for showing this spot and for the cache!

This was supposed to be a quick find this morning before breakfast and then heading home to Hobart. It ended up taking me a little longer than I’d hoped, primarily because the hint had me looking closer to the side that you are meant to walk on. I’m sure the dim early morning lift didn’t help matters either though . Nonetheless, signed and re-hidden in plenty of time. So many muggles(and muggle turkeys!)
Very cute truck, TFTC.

While on my New South Wales, my caching activities have been rather random than well planned. This was another case where this was the nearest cache from my previous stop and in my general direction of travel. I made the find easily and wondered why the feature was where it was. I later read the interesting and informative cache description and all was revealed. Greetings from New Zealand.

Delightful bit of history in the description. Happily could park right near the cache today and pleased to report the blue truck is still there and the replacement cache is intact. Gosh the muggles come from every direction here and you wonder how many are gazing through their windows at you... Reccomend stealth and hint reading to reduce time spent here!

SL and replaced as found. TFTC AussiePam - loving the North Sydney colour pallate

Today we braved the very windy conditions and caught a 280 bus and T1 train to North Sydney & Kirribilli for a Traditional cache and an Adventure Lab stage, then walked over the Sydney Harbour Bridge and collected another Adventure Lab stage at it's central point, then down into the Rocks, around past Circular Quay to the Opera House, and up through the Botanic Gardens, collecting various Adventure Lab stages along the way. Finished our cachey day with a MultiCache in the Sydney CBD, before catching a T1 train from Wynyard back to Chatswood and a 280 bus back to home. This was the 1st of 8 finds for the day.

Hopped off our T1 train at Milsons Point Railway Station and then headed off down through the back streets of Kirribilli to GZ, where the blue truck was quickly spotted, but the actual cache container took us much longer than it should have to locate. We had the incorrect pre-conceived idea of what it would be, which had us checking in all the wrong places, until we eventually expanded our thoughts and made the find. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found.

Thanks AussiePam for showing us the nice blue truck, and TFTC.

Find 13 of 21 on a walk from the CBD to Kirribilli. Straight off the red-eye flight from Perth, dropped bag off at the hotel and out we went.

Continuing to circle the main man's abode without ever seeing it, we started getting closer here. A bit of a scrabble and the cache was in hand.

TFTC AussiePam!

Found after seeing Dua Lipa the night before at Qudos Bank Arena, best concert of my life. Went to go to the cafe by the ferry stop and on our walk from the car was this cache. Searched a bit before making the find, should’ve looked there first but I didn’t feel the description instruction was completely accurate. A very cool local artefact. TFTC!

03-Sep-22
Wlith a week of no car and train strikes so too crowded for me I was keen to get out today and make some finds.
It seemed the weather gods were not so keen for me to go out but after lunch there seemed to be a brightening of the sky so I headed out.

Now this is a novel way to save, use and improve one's favourite old toy. It's not obtrusive, in fact you hardly notice it until you are right on top of it. Even today in the rain the intersection was busy so as usual timing was important.
Spotted the cache, grabbed it, SL, replaced and back to my geomobile just as the next downpour started. All good.

Primulas are starting to bloom, but too wet for a photo.

Left the house before 6am this morning to drop the geodog off for a dental procedure at the vet in North Willoughby.

This means I have the whole day to pass, geocaching, until I can collect her. I hit the pavements.

#9156 (1 of 3 today)

I am gradually catching up with my logging - am currently a "few" months behind. But that's still over 100 caches! At least my most recent finds are up to date - just need to fill in the gap!

To be honest, while I still find searching for caches fun, I'm finding logging less so. But I have to log to get me stats and souvenirs, so...

Only a few Adventure Labs and my First2Finds have been written up in a timely manner - don't want people racing out when it's already been snaffled.

Nevertheless, I have kept up with my 2022 goal of 16 finds per caching day. In fact, for the most part my modus operandi has been to actually aim for 20. So far I've only failed on that a few times, and only by 1 find. Amazingly I'm on track for 19 finds per day, I just have to put my mind to my future goals... 25 per day? Owwww.

Thanks to all the CO's who have made it possible to keep my goal in sight. Most of the finds have been Traditionals, but a few Puzzle series and the odd other cache type have been grabbed where possible.
Sorry the logs are very generic, but I'll never catch back up otherwise.
###END OF GENERIC ABJECT GROVELLING SECTION###
Headed out Kirribilli way for some finds today.
Managed to find three out of four - of course it's the multi that was nowhere to be seen. Sigh.
But some interesting hides.
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
Well, this is unexpected.
Managed to park right next to GZ, but exactly where is it? Took a few minutes to check the obvious spots between a few muggle walk-bys.
But then got the prize.

Signed replaced and on my way.
Have a favourite for the unusual art installation here.
