Logs
#14,664. I am over in Marlborough for a few days of geocaching after a work trip. Picking up multis is my main mission this trip as I am now aware there might be some challenges out there that require quite a stack to be found within one month. Getting on in the day now so time to check out Renwick. It took me a few minutes to spot this cache. Once seen I wondered how I had missed it. Signed the logsheet and replaced as found. Thanks PaoloB72 for hiding it here.
Thanks to jigsawnl for adding some more temporary paper. I have added some more waterproof paper now.
I went on a tour on the e-scooter to clean up some local geocaches. I am impressed with some of the new caches in the area. TFTF. PS. Log is full. I added some non waterproof paper.
I admired this as I followed my GPSr blindly right past. I make a quick u-ey and got to the right place. Great way to use the existing location. TFTC.
**20,309**A nice quick find here, another nice day in wine country! Love the corten steel sign. TFTC
Found w Dracophyllum, Aragog may be no more, but not through any action on our part, signed and sealed again, tftc.
Cache number two and quite the unexpected find!A quick find though at the most likely spot.T F T C Paolob72.I wanted to drop off a couple of TBs so I found a good sized cache in Renwick and a couple of other caches to grab while out. So it made for a nice little outing of three from three finds.
It's time to start spreading our wings again caching wise after a relative period of inactivity due to factors beyond our control. To this end this is our second trip 'over the hill' in 3 days. It's also partly dictated by the number of caches published since our last trip here some time back.
Hazedarus spotted this while I was looking elsewhere.
Thank you PaoloB72.

Thank you PaoloB72.
Our caching expedition to Marlborough was one of two halves. First Ward/Seddon, then Blenheim/Renwick. Excellent results were achieved even after some wastage of my most important caching resource being my phone battery. An interesting hide with nobody in residence today. Thank you PaoloB72
Collecting some caches around Renwick. Quick stop and grab even in the dark. Don’t think we disturbed anyone. Cleverly hidden.Cache and log all fine. Thanks for the smiley.
Oh wow, look at that, from the hint it must be the cache . A really opportunistic hide, haven't seen one quite like that before, what a great idea. I hadn't noticed the existence of the Marlborough Grape Growers Cooperative. People are forever developing new ideas.
Thanks for the cache .
Thanks for the cache .
I was out in Renwick today with Kiwimykl watching one of our granddaughters compete in a Highland Dancing competition. Her schedule gave us plenty of time to head out for caching so that I could increase my tally on the Leaderboard for the latest GCHQ challenge. I was targeting caches that Kiwimykl had already found, for two reasons. Firstly, with him having already found them, they should be an easy find for me. Secondly, he has already reached the level required and doesn't want to waste unfound caches that could be saved for future challenges.
All in all we got eight caches which increased my tally from 790 points to 890 points. This was the fifth find of the day and with Kiwimykl as my navigator, it also was a QEF PnG.

Always time for a couple more finds whilst out and about, this'll do. Only 6-legged earwigs at GZ today.
A one-day whistle-stop trip to Blenheim today to pay my respects at the funeral of a previous Woodbourne colleague, local quiz attendee, Man City fan and all round good guy, RIP Kes.
On the plane good and early and arrived at Woodbourne and onto a waiting coach. The service was solemn, yet celebratory and after a few touching military formalities there was an offer of a lift from local caching fella kiwimykl. I'd not had any real hopes for any finds but he kindly indulged my whim and we had a leisurely lunch-time drive picking up selected Multi finals (some already solved, some not) as well as a couple of Puzzles and a Virtual. Thanks to all COs for their hides.

#22382. Parked across the road, and soon spotted something of interest when we got to GZ. A great hide! TFTC.
This cache wasn't "on the list" but we decided we had time to make a short detour for a quick park and grab. Nicely hidden. TFTC.
Are Ants 8 legged??? There are lots of them and they nibble tender skin. Clever hide. TFTC
Passing through on a tiki tour around the mainland. Exploring the Renwick area. Thanks for hiding Paolob72.
First find of the day. Needed to get away from everyone today. Nice weather today
Heading to Blenheim for a Bridge weekend. Taking the scenic route to pick up all the new caches along the Wairau Valley. Dropped Ms M off and headed out to make a few more finds. No eight legged creatures here unlike my next find at the busy stop. A nice hide here. I liked it.

Quick find today on a cycling tour of Renwick. About to struggle back to Blenheim in the easterly, tftc.
A nice quick find today, with no 8 legged freak in evidence. Thanks for placing your cache.
Ms_KR and I are off on our annual pilgrimage to Auckland to visit family. Today we cruised around Blenheim and Renwick, with lovely weather.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

We had a few more caches to find before we heading back home the long way round that fitted in with goals Paddle Chick and I are working on. I was interested to see what we were going to find here - just a nicely placed hide as it turned out. TFTC # 18,730
Cache was a quick find and I was disappointed that there wasn’t an eight legged creature at home as I love them
Caching trip with busy paws, lytteltonwitch and coconuts3. No 8 legged varmints to disvourage visitors today. Tftc.

Holy hell it's a bigin. I had long telescopic pointy thing to retrieve the log. Nice to be second. Tftc
{FTF} at 3.11pm. As the cacher who started the Wineries of Marlborough series, when someone wants to create the next one in the series, they usually as me what the next number is. That is what happened with this cache. Some might say it gives me an advantage, but I reject that. I don't know where the cache is located and I don't know when it will be published. I find that out just like everyone else when the cache is published.
This listing actually came as a bit of a surprise as the South Island reviewer normally publishes our caches in the weekend and mostly on a Sunday, so a Friday published cache is a bit of a rarity. The fact that I was on leave today was less of a rarity, but definitely a bonus for this cache. As soon as the listing was published, I was out the door. My usually partner in crime, NZDi was on grandchild school pickup duties, so missed out on this one.
Half way to GZ the tech in my geomobile informed me I had received a text from ricardinho.nz asking if I was in town. Figuring he was angling for a joint FTF, I gave him a call and explained the situation. He was still at work so wasn't going to make this one. We chatted about life and caching in general and soon enough I was at GZ. Hanging up, I headed to the feature wondering what form the cache would take as this CO tends to be a bit more creative than most... I am ashamed to admit.
I was not disappointed in this cache which is a novel hide I had not seen before. However, for someone who has spent almost 45 years in the military, there was a little tell-tale that made the cache location obvious, so it was a QEF PnG.
As a side note to this find, this morning my geomobile was in the shop for a service and I had the dealer loaner. The license plate number of this vehicle was FTF343 and I thought... 'What are the chances?' This find was FTF326, so close but not quite there.
