Im out with CO, kbucky for a days caching on the pushbike and doing some of her rail trail series. We are in the area on our annual motorbike trip and I put the pushbike on the backup vehicle so I could use it on our lay day. It is perfect weather after a very windy day yesterday. Another very clever concept worthy of a favourite point

This was trickier than it needed to be due to the placement by last geocacher. Got there in the end. A frustrated favourite awarded!

On a day's caching with new found Geocaching friend, sixy2sue. I love these caches. You need to put some thought into it eve though you see the cache. Very clever, with a red herring. You've made my day with these caches kbucky. Lots of fun with sixy2sue. This one get a fave from me.

Very very clever ! Thanks for finding 119!

Spent a bit more time at this one than anticipated. Had an idea of what was required to retrieve the cache, but it needed a bit of gentle persuasion to get things moving in the right direction!!FP for the construction of this one - even if it did cause some colourful language!!

I had a great time riding an e-bike today and came back to finish off all except one. I enjoyed solving many different puzzles. fav from me. Here's one to find today.Thank you for placing the cache kbucky.

26-Jan-24
Decided to come back again to ride ebike to finish the rest of this series. Enjoyed it with nice cool weather with few rains in the morning. Found it and sorted this field puzzle. Good one and thanks kbucky for placing this cache

20-Jan-24
We decided to head out on our scooters again today to attempt to finish this trail, which we did. Last time, we ran out of time so today we set off reasonably early to make sure we had a good chance. This was a great cache and I am pleased to say, only took one attempt to retrieve after OHC realised what we needed to do.Thanks for the cache, the series and bringing us down here to enjoy the trail.

20-Jan-24
A perfect summers day, so Geoturtle37 and I decided it was about time to get back on the scooters to finish off the SC to FC series. As we were doing what needed o be done, a herd of steers popped over to the fence to watch on. This is definitely not broken, and the cache was retrieved in just one go!Another favourite point heading your way. Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, kbucky ~~

14:56A great day out on two wheels with the boys - pprass & maccamobAn unserviceability with a powered device meant that, for us, it was back to the self powered method of transportation. Log signed as 'MPP'.Knew what was required here, but we lacked the dexterous fingers, so resorted to the 'fast' method. FP for a neatly constructed cache. Thanks to kbucky for hiding caches in interesting locations. 36344

Found by David with pprass and phetlern while our wives went shopping, at 14:55. Quickly figured out what we needed to do. Almost got it at the first attempt. At the second, we were even closer but, keen to grab it quickly, pprass managed to send it back down again. Third attempt, and we used a bit more speed, and success! Gets a FP! Our thanks to kbucky.

Found at 2:57 PM in the company of maccamob & phetlern. We had a bit of fun with this one as the cache kept falling down when nearly at the top. After a few tries we flung it out [:o)]Thanks to kbucky

This year we headed to Cape Paterson to stay a few days over new years and had a nice stay at this beach location I had not been to before. Plenty of people around but that is expected at this time of year. After hearing this trail mentioned on the puzzle facebook group a little while ago I didn't think I would be here any time soon but I was surprised to see the family booked a holiday at the last minute this year only a 45 minute drive away so I came over here and started at the Fish Creek end and was only going to find a few and head back but I enjoyed the trail so much I kept on going for a bit longer even though I was supposed to be back for lunch ... that didn't happen. This was fun. A favourite from me.Thanks kbucky for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

Yet to find a LIDOGGER but here I am and there I was with an idea that needed some finesse and lateral thinking! The planets have aligned and I finally get to venture far from home base over the mountains to lovely Leongatha where there's no shortage of caches to choose from. Despite dark looming cloud and cold threatening rain, trusty treadles AKA the MTB and I started at #23 and rolled on back to #1. Fortunately I started #23 on the Great Southern Trail or I'd still be out there.....the planned couple of hours somehow doubled as I hadn't factored in the more time devouring innovative "field puzzles" or the impact of cloud and trees on that billion dollar technology that makes this game possible! Riding the trail and getting out in nature is always good and having such a variety of clever "field puzzles" and such well thought out caches often in tribute to a special mum made the trip a blast. As it turned out, the CO was pleased to see them checked out post winter....yep there were a few "doozies". Can't wait to return to complete the trail. TFTC, the lure to visit and the FUN!

Today I decided to go for a ride with ahomburg and knight_shift. I got to babysit the bikes (and my scooter) while the others arranged car shuffling. Finally they arrived and it was time to get caching!!

Thanks for the awesome caches, kbucky

Headed out today for an Anzac Day bike ride with beckNmonts and Knight_shift. It was a perfect autumn day, sun was shining, the birds were singing and there were caches to find.

No luck today, but we'll come back tomorrow with a different to and try again

24-Feb-23
Being cheeky, without our bikes on us for this caching trip, we stopped in here where there was a road intersecting with the rail trail.
We scratched our heads for a moment here before having the aha moment.
Thanks kbucky for another clever hide, a favourite added.

20-Feb-23
Down to Fish Creek to visit some friends, and BettyBoo3747, the geodoggies and I squeezed in a bit of time on the deadly treadlies to have a look at the SC to FC series.
We did some on the Saturday afternoon, and most of the rest on the Monday.
Lovely weather for a ride and cache.

If it wasn't broken before we got there, it nearly was before we left! How frustrating!
Nice gadget though (If we had enough water we might have tried a different technique!)
Thanks for this series, Robmc.

#20746. Well here we are back in Fish Creek - our last visit was back in June 2020 in the short window of opportunity during the COVID pandemic.

With bicycles and dogs in their tagalong trailer the ride between FC and Meeniyan was definitely on the agenda. We started on the Saturday afternoon but gave up at the Chinese Whispers cache before returning to our hosts. Started again on Monday with a full ride of 38km and managing to gather up most of the caches. We had 4 DNFs also, despite a couple of visits each time.

Parked in the shade and walked to GZ. Took a while to get things working here - we knew what we had to do but it seemed to be getting caught at the bottom and wouldn't budge after an initial wobble. Eventually we had the cache to hand and added our names and continued on our way.

Thanks kbucky

Took a while to find the direction to walk after parking a bikes.
than, didn't take long to sort it out.
We left the 4x4 & camper at Fish Creek, and took the bikes to make these finds.

Out caching with D@geo
Thank you for the hide kbucky

Found with gwd.aussie
Had packed the bikes and leaving the car and camper trailer at Fish Creek aimed to complete the series to at least to Buffalo. In most cases the finds were left to gwd.aussie who is way more fitter than myself.
By the end of the day the idea of going electric was looking appealing.

Thanks kbucky

I had to return to this cache on my return journey. I had the right idea the first time around but the wrong execution, second time around was the charm.

18-Jan-23
When my Mum said, ‘how far away is the next cache?’ I discovered that it was named after me! I had absolutely no idea
When I came to the GZ I quickly realised what I had to do, though it was a bit tedious at first. We finally managed to get the cache in hand. I do love field puzzles and especially this one!!

With a break in the recent hot weather, plans were made to tackle this new series with Rebel Acts and Ski pair.

It has been many months since I have been on a bike and by the end of our adventure my butt certainly was not happy.
The day was filled with much laughter and stories about past caching triumphs. I really enjoyed this series especially the field puzzles.

My logs for this series will be cut and paste, I really don't want to give anything away about this outstanding series.

Great work kbucky, can't wait for your next series.

All logs signed with a team name.

This one sucked us in properly until Omega took over and found the cache quickly.

At Rebel Act's Community Celebration Event in Warragul recently there was much talk about a new series of caches on the rail trail between Stony Creek and Fish Creek. Till then we had been unaware of their release so after a quick look we hatched a plan to visit the area today and try our luck.
None of us had been on bikes in recent times, but there was plenty of enthusiasm and an air of anticipation. New caches seem to be rare anywhere near our area.
The trail has flat areas and undulations but is in great condition for riding, but most of us did have sore bums by the time we made it to Fish Creek.
This is a great series with plenty of good-sized caches and hides thought out. The field puzzles were a treat and although we took quite some time on a few really added to the experience. Great fun!
Congratulations and well done to kbucky for an excellent well thought out series.
As usual we teamed up with our good mate Rebel Acts, but also had Omegaman71 joined us which added further to the usual banter and ribbing that adds to the hunt. Great people to cache with!

Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache kbucky.

This was intended cache we targeted, once we had become aware of this series. Unfortunately my navigational skills need a little work and I missed the turn-off, so once we had collected #27, we backtracked to this cache.

Found the structure quickly, then pondered for awhile on how to access the cache. The hint confused me (notice it has been changed now) so I walked off into La La land, while in the meantime, Steve worked his magic and had the cache in hand.

Although we didn’t realise that the biggest hound was in the area, we do now after coming in STF. Congratulations 999Hunter!

Thanks kbucky for this impromptu visit along this trail. The caches have been excellent.

When this geocache series got released I was already geocaching but in the opposite direction. Not having anything else planned, I programmed in the car park at #18 as my destination. It was a car park I had used before and knew it had facilities. Only 1.5 hours travel time.

Had a great day caching with a number of highlights. 18 finds and 16 FTFs. Solo caching, caching with a few different people, caching in a group and seeing 3 Owls and a Koala. Lots of variety of caches, and some interesting gadget caches, even if I'm no good at them. Going to have to come back and complete the series with the rest of the family and puppy.

A field puzzle I can solve? Woohoo.
Took a little while to work out what I needed to do, but then solved it quickly fir a 12 pm signing.

Thanks for the cache K Bucky

We skipped this one on our first pass as we thought the TOTT we needed was in the car. We drove past on our way home to log it, after realising that we didn't actually need the TOTT after all. A very fun field puzzle, thanks Kbucky!

We saw these published this morning, and wow, what a delightfully large amount of caches published relatively close to our home! We rallied the kids, dusted off the bikes and headed out for the day.

It was lovely to meet some other folk out ‘n ‘about, particularly Tiz13 with whom we shared some FTF’s. Of course Hunter999, Night Shift and Smokey Bears were on the case too.

We were thrilled to find all 38 caches in the series, especially our namesake cache. The field puzzles were a particular highlight and worthy of more favourite points than we have left to give out.

An absolutely huge amount of effort has gone into the planning, preparation and placement of this series and we are so appreciative to Kbucky for all your efforts. We are lucky to have you in our area!
Thank you ️️

Thanks for another clever cache kbucky! First to log digitally… disappointing to drive all this way and be fourth to find as others hadn’t submitted a log.

I had heard whisperings of this new trail from the CO who I have cached with on a handful of occasions and it just happened to finally come out so plans were made with both my regular caching mates Ski Pair and Omegaman1971 to head down and do the entire trail. Just getting here was fun with a road block that Google Maps thought I could drive straight trough, this led to a detour and a back track to finally get over the hills and onward to the start of the trail. We had plenty of laughs along the trail as we found the quality caches on offer, despite the frustration of some tricky ones we managed to find and work them all out.

Well I made a mess of this, thankfully Omega was on to it and the log was soon being signed.

Thanks kbucky for the cache, I appreciate the work that went into this trail.
