Multiple reasons had me visit this cache today. Its great to finally sign this one. Thanks for the cache. Fav
This was another main target for the weekend, arrived with Joo Joo and we got the extended pole out,but not long enough,so this time it was Joo Joo that got on my back,my legs were a bit wobbly and,oh no,still not long enough, so okay out with the step ladder and pole and guess what nothing was going to defeat us this weekend, fav point and TFTC
Today was a trip up in the Lockyer Valley with RoddyC, Hatzofff, chamad and Echocage1 to gain a few Smilies and also earn some points for Cosmic Quest.Soon had the cache, log signed before replacing as found. It sure was a beautiful day . This cache was nearly too good for out TOTT but eventually got it. TFTC
With hatzofff, imbunda, echocage1 and chamad for a pleasant Sunday caching around the Lockyer Valley.Nice tree fish.Log signed and cache replaced as found at 3:29 PM on August 4, 2024. TFTC, Davinells.

Was in Toowoomba this morning having the Geo-Prado serviced. With the car back early, I headed south to grab some caches that have been on my hit list for far too long. What started out well would end badly with this cache fishing expedition. On arrival at the GZ, I survey the tree and quickly located the prize. I then grabbed my trusty TOTT (or so I thought) and set to work. I had the cache down within seconds and log was signed. Then the fun began! As I hoisted the cache back into the air, I got it snagged on a lower branch, a few meters below its intended spot. While trying to extricate the cache from the branch, my pole broke leaving two meters of it dangling high in the tree with no way to retrieve it.I sent a message to the CO explaining the situation and Ill be out later during the week with a ladder to extricate whats left of my pole. I guess Im now in the market for a new telescopic pole.TFTC. TNLN. SL. TBs Prado Owl , The Great Leap Forward Geocoin , Bee Croc , Rawhide , Scarb, Sheeps on the Journey (Orange) , RobS72k 2000 Finds GC and Kiwi Bird visited.Find # 2013.
After a long drive up and in that rain, I found a nice camping spot for the night. It was not far from where I saw there was this new cache, yes a FTF. At sun up I packed up and drove over to this spot and was hoping this was still available. I wondered around and found the cache, I opened it up and it was a blank log, so happy with this one as it fills a gap on my grid.Today the rains seemed to be clearing the further north I went, which is good as I had a list of target caches that I would like to get around this area. I had just completed my first target and was heading to the next ..... OH MY Goodness the people you meet in the strangest of places. Driving along the road after I completed the sweet sixteen challenge I found a cacher from the south. We meet up and it seems we had the same list of caches for the day, give or take a few. This made caching for the day a little more enjoyable and worked in both our favours. We signed the logs on all caches and replaced as found. This was a cache that required team work and a vehicle to stand on , lol. This gets a favourite point because I would never have seen this plaque if not for this cache, thank you.
The last couple of trips to town a certain airline has managed to lose my TOTT but this time I switched airlines and it arrived quickly. Wonderful you might say. Despite the huge amount of rain given the TOTT had arrived I decided to stay for Saturday and see what I could get done guessing paddling would be out of the question. Having bumped into Chamad on his way back from the mega I said was this on his list and it soon was so we headed over. I spotted it ok but the standard TOTT could only just nudge it. I did have a hire car and was about to position when Chamad arrived and said his Ute cab would work better. A tough grab, sign and replacement. Nice stone etching. TFTCA fav pt for the evilness
We were staying for couple of days in and around Leyburn to go on a paddle and to get some smilies on our Geocaching map. We met with couple of fellow cachers and went partly out together. This cache was found and we signed the log. Tftc Davinelles
Up in Warwick for a few days to try and find the caches left I have not found. This was one that I needed to find. Found the cache and signed the log. TFTC
On completion of our group paddle on the Condamine River today, we had a few targeted caches to find prior to going our separate ways. This one was my last for the day My gosh, this was quite high up, and our first attempts were not very effective at all. It's time to call for a really big ToT, the trusty caddy van! This certainly made a huge difference, and then the retrieval was made quite quickly and replaced as found.Super cool hide and happy no muggles were watching our teamwork in action. They may have had a few laughs or thought we were trying to reel in a furry koala bear.Thank you, Davinells, a favourite point coming your way
Spending a few days in and around Warwick to assist with an attack on the Condomine caches, visiting Leyburn area caches as well as a day trip to Killarney and Legume villages. Placed one cache while there as well!Planned for this adventure following Dunmowin's event earlier this year and thought October might be best time before the summer heat but little did we know we would have at least 3 days of 34+c temps as well as smoke haze. Went with the others to collect this fishing hide as well! Thanks.
After a day on the river (O My Cod) with SnickersAllen and TBSue, we called by here to collect this cache. Our previous attempt failed, as our ToTT was not long enough. With the assistance of SnickersAllen, we were able to retrieve this container, sign and return. So thanks SnickersAllen for your assistance, and Thanks Davinells for the hide.
TFTC smile 17137 out and about on a lovely day Signed grannysmith1947 Lot of team work but got it down, replacement was quick and easy FP Thank you Davinells for placing this cache for our enjoyment
Mr D feeling up for a walk today, and we collected the nearby cache to this one. We had driven past here a few weeks ago, and I wondered why no one had placed a cache here. Well Davinells had!Dang, another that out TOTT is not long enough. These tree caches are getting higher and higher!
After hearing about this caches special mission, I decided I had to come and find it whilst I was in Toowoomba this weekend. A lovely drive down to the park where we soon spotted it nice and high up in the tree. Now Ive read the previous finders log, Im impressed with the speed in which the CO replaced the cache. It would have been a mix of relief and disappointment if we had arrived to find it on the ground. As it was, we required a little vehicular manoeuvring as well as the extender piece on our pole in order to reach it. A worthy challenge. Thanks Davinells
I set off to find this one as it helps with another challenge cache, at GZ with my pole fully extended the wind decided to snap my pole, hid the container at ground level as I had no way of returning it to where it came from and contacted the CO.The very kind CO said that she would head out and replace it for me. A favourite point from me, thanks for placing andTFTC
BenM70, Burgo78 and I ended up here for their last cache, after their important visit. It was great to see them, I just wished that I saw them under better circumstances. I hope this cache lives forever as it has such a beautiful story behind it. It makes me sob, even writing about it. I am so sorry, I cannot write anything else right now, but I just want to give you a FP and say thank you for being such kind souls, Davinells . Vale Karicka.
Down in SEQ for a few days to celebrate the life of a caching ambassador and a great friend Karicka.
Just prior to heading to the airport, BenM70, greencordial and I wanted to make this our final cache for the trip as it was Rickard’s last. One that he had targeted to complete his 40th loop of the DT grid. It was inspiring that even in his final days he was still aiming for, and completing his goals and his attitude of living life to the fullest never wained.
Thanks Davinells for the lovely gesture to assist Rickard to tick this one last thing off his bucketlist. When I think about it I become quite emotional. I’m happy that our names sit next to his in the logbook. He was a great man and I will miss him, but I will smile each time I think of the adventures we shared or see his name in a log book…. so I will smile often.

Townsville’s 2nd and 3rd finest, burgo and myself, not necessarily in that order, went to pick out a few caches that took our fancy for one reason or another while out in Toowoomba waiting for a plane back to Townsville after attending Rickard’s funeral service.
This cache has some serious sentimental value due to the CO’s beautiful gesture. That was truly wonderful guys. My eyes became wet just typing this thinking about it to be honest. It was the last cache Rickard would have come into contact with before going off on his final adventure caching in the afterlife. It was nice to be able to link us Townsville geocachers together once more.
Thanks Davinells for placing this for my find # 4493 and karicka’s 40th Loop. Aren’t moms wonderful! Love your gesture too Ladies.
In Rickards final weeks, a plan was made to visit Toowoomba, with this cache being the primary reason. It's D/T was just too attractive. When it became obvious that plan was not going to come to fruition, the CO arranged to hand deliver the entire cache to Rickard in palliative care. By the time this happened, he had already slipped into a coma that he would never wake from. In his room, at St Vincent's, on a very emotional Sunday, Rickards mum signed the log on his behalf. With this log, Rickard completes his 40th D/T loop.Vale Rickard.B
This is a nice out of the way place for a tribute to RM. the cache was high and harder to replace than it was to retrieve.
Thanks Davinells for this challenging retrieval cache.
A FP from me

Time to change a bluey into a smiley! With some assistance from Geoff511, I was able to retrieve the cache and sign its log.
My geodog Scruffy wanted to look for some caches, so I thought "why not?"
So we headed out & tried to fill in a few gaps
WOW that took everything I had to reach.
All Good .. TFTC ..

I saw this one, but didn't have something to get it down. Maybe come back here one day with something to retrieve, then this will be a smiley.

This cache was a challenge and needed two TOTT to achieve our goal. With the help of a previous finder. Ives able to retrieve the cache. TFTC
We spotted the cache easily enough but boy! it’s a high one. Luckily we came prepared to give us some extra height if we needed it.
With our pole at full extension we needed just a few inches more to get a little bit higher and the cache off its ‘hook’. The easiest option was to jump on the back of the ute. That made it a lot easier. Signed the logbook and popped the cache back up on its perch.
Thanks for this beaut cache.

After the paddle The Green Geckos, Muggle65, Dahumbug and I headed back to Toowoomba to grab more caches. So this was the next one on my list.
CO thank for placing them for my enjoyment and maintaining this cache.

We headed here after the event today. I went up while Duppers and At The Lake House steadied the ladder. I went up with the required TOTT. With everything at full length, me hugging the tree, the girls keeping the ladder stable, we soon had the cache down for signing.
Hmm, now to put it back. With the arm tired from the retrieval and the cache having a mind of its own, I had to rethink how to load it so it went where I needed it to go. Once I had it the right way, it was a fairly quick return (sorta, lol)
Thanks for bringing us here, TFTC, TFTH & TFTSF

oh my Goddess! This is definitely a cache where you earn the DT rating. It looks straight forward enough from the ground, but it's anything but that. My ladder is only 3.2m so it was fully extended, as was the fishing pole. The difficulty lay in the sway caused by the weight of the container, and even though there was no wind about, that pole was all over the shop. Poor Shazza was already tired from a big morning of kayaking and used everything in her tank to replace the cache on its branch today. But - she was determined and she did it. Deadset legend! Very grateful to her for doing the work, I decided I needed to shout her a drink at the nearest pub, and that's just what I did. Perfect end to a perfect day out Thanks for the challenge L&J and for bringing us to this part of Toowoomba I had never been to before.
On our way back from the Condomine River, AtTheLakeHouse was keen to find this cache and Shazzar66 and I were happy to come along. The three of us, the CO’s plus another 24 kayaking cachers paddled 10Kms, found caches and cleaned up whatever rubbish we could find on the river and had a great few hours.
This detour was an easy stop on the way back to Toowoomba, however that’s all that was easy about the cache. AtTheLakeHouse provided her ladder and Shazzar66 provided the fishing rod. I provided the pen…lol. We found this cache pretty tough. Tough to retrieve for Shazzar66, while AtTheLakeHouse and I held the ladder as steady as possible. It took a fair while to fish the cache. Then we got it, signed it and commenced the return. We found it much harder to put back. Shazzar66 had one arm around a skinny branch, and then used one arm with fishing rod in hand to attempt to put the cache back. This took considerable time. Eventually the cache was replaced and we all cheered. As we were driving out, I looked behind and yelled, “Stop”. AtTheLakeHouse had left her ladder behind! Whoops. It could have been an expensive cache! Thanks Davinells (I think…lol) for the cache. FP for you, just because it was so tricky…but we did it!

Found it, but was out on my bike today so no chance of reaching it! Will have to come back later in order to sign it
Muggle65, the Bug and l stopped in here after a yak trip. We let the tall one with gorilla arms retrieve this one. His equipment was too short so he used the Bugs longer one to reach the prize. Very entertaining. Thank you for the fun
Out and about again to find a cache.
I spotted it quick enough. Then discovered my pole is too short. So, I moved my cay closer and stood on the roof. Unfortunately, while returning the cache to where I found it my pole suddenly retracted and a few bits went all over the place. 10 minutes of finding all of the bits and putting it all back together the cache was successfully returned to it high point.
Thanks for bringing me out here.

I can’t believe this one evaded my radar.
Appears it comes up under Lockyer Valley LGA so not your every garden variety cache is it?
After being out on the water paddling earlier in the day it was time to get a few extra on the way home.
Stopped here with Green Geckos/Muggle65 and he did it from the ground with my pole…pretty rad hey.
Thanks to the Davi-Nell’s for another rad cache with a good combo…
**FP for that**

Quick and easy find but difficult retrieve. I ended up using 2 x Totts. Was almost ready to give up and it finally budged and came off the branch. My pole was long enough but the end was too flexible. Used a ladder
Nah. Up a tree? Can't see it; no way to climb. Attributes indicate TOTT but not tree climbing.
I have to log this as a DNF
I looked about without success
High in a tree
It seems is the key
"No tree climbing" attribute suggests!!

I decided for a spontaneous day trip to the Toowoomba region.
Positioned the car at the right spot, climbed on the roof and retrieved the container quickly. Just getting it back up all over the right branch was challenging. Great DT!

I though that was a headstone at first! So random..
Ardom had all sorts of trouble with his fishing pole here which meant the hook wasn’t useable and this would be our last tree fishing of the day! A very tricky spot to reach indeed. TFTC.

A long day geocaching with ESCR in Toowoomba and (sometimes quite distant) surrounds. A good range of caches for the day, with a variety of TOTT employed. Did not get through everything on our list, but we were rather ambitious!
Getting this involved climbing a ladder with my fishing pole. Unfortunately, the wobble cause me to drop the pole and it was damaged. Hopefully it will function again with some repair work! TFTC.

A day trip up the range… with a list of target caches… This cache was high on the list, it helps with the latest crazy challenge cache in Brisbane…
I even brought the truck, LeDeVine, Renaldo just wasn’t going to cut it…
I’d had a conversation with Davinells, and it was suggested I could borrow the Beaver Finder and JDavs would happily come along… I wasn’t totally convinced that LeDeVine wouldn’t cut it, but turns out, unless I wanted to leave footprints on the roof, the tray back would have been useless…
Not only was I on the roof of the Beaver Finder, I was at full stretch, and on my tippy toes… lucky that container is sturdy, it made a rapid descent to the ground, more than once…
At one stage, the rod and container were tangled in the foliage about 7m off the ground… My pole has quite a bit of flex…and it was on full display…
Despite the wind, the container was finally returned to its lofty perch… my thanks to JDavs, there’s nothing like an audience when you’re trying to handle a fully extended pole from the roof of great friends Beaver Finder…
Tftc… just 987 off-road vehicle caches left…

Deccan Ribobe was the last High Priest of the Boke of the Filme in Holy Wood. He lived in a crude driftwood hut on the beach, by the now buried Door keeping the fire lit and chanting three times a day to keep the Holy Wood Guardian awake.
Our pole wasn't quite long enough here so we backed the car up and stood on the roof which was perfect. Thanks Davinells and happy caching

Unsure of the local geocaching guidelines when logging a FTF because it's all becoming one giant blur I've given it 26hrs give or take before logging our find.. I am sure someone will claim a find soon but we were here first... the immortals... well not quite but we came, we saw, we stretched and we signed...
Ok, now down to the nitty gritty... R.M Williams.... for those who know... well sorry but we aren't related .. he made boots... my family though made shoes and sold shoes... lots of them.. and before the last member of my family running the business passed away it had over 175 stores nationwide.. it's still running but owned by an American company that also owns Mathers shoes... I'm talking about Williams the Shoemen... my great great grandfather was the original Williams the Shoemen and my Uncle Barry was the managing director before he passed... it was soon sold ending the family side of the business.. so despite not being related to R.M.. we still had similar family backgrounds and that made it fitting to make this a FTF... it also fitted perfectly to fill a grid space much needed to fill our fizzy.. only a couple more to go for our first!... ofcourse getting a FAVOURITE POINT...
Thanks for the cache davinells !
