Decided to archive this cache after recent comments. It is a very long way to come to check on it. We will pick up the remains next time we are out this way. Thanks to all the finders over the eighteen years it has been there! Perhaps someone else could hide one at this beautiful spot. Rodney and Iris.
Spent the weekend in Glentui doing another search and rescue course...
Finished early so plenty of time to grab a few more in the area before putting my feet up for the day...
Found what remains of a cache i believe a little further down the track...see photo ..placed back at the hint object where there is no sign of a container...needs some TLC

Found it, and found a great view at the same time. Awesome hide, thank-you. The container was completely waterlogged - tried to dry it out as much as I could.
Beautiful view . WOW tourists keep to the track. I’d give a favourite point if I had one
What a lovely area, peaceful at the moment. I imagine it gets very busy over holiday times.

Together with TEMBO! I had a really interesting geocaching-trip today. We could find some geocaches, met some locals and had a great talk to them.
Concerning this geocache I want to say thanks because we had much fun in searching and finding this geocache! The cache made our trip even more interesting!

We should have been travelling up the West Coast but with ferocious storms, we came this way instead - what a delight! An early morning stroll took me to GZ before setting out for our next stop at Kaikoura, then home to Nelson. TFTC.
Took the teens out for a walk to have a break from studying. We have never been along this track before and after finding the cache we headed down to the river. TFTC.
It was promising to be a nice crispy winter's day, so I decided to go out a bit to explore. I am glad I finally made it here!! TFTC!!!
Bad weather couldn't stop us and we went to the Oxfrd with Him - our first date Thanks for the cache. Easy one.
A planned geocaching trip with specific targets in mind.
1: The final 2 caches to fill my D/T grid
2: The last 5 caches available (all in the South Island) to meet the NZ Jasmer challenge GC4R9Z6
3: Get as many caches as possible in a day (Solo)
I had no timetable and only a vague route (Christchurch - Dunedin- Invercargill). So after 20 days of sleeping in my tent/car I arrived home having traveled 4500km and visited some interesting places. Met some great people. I had found over 650 caches. That was a lot of park. Jump out out. Find cache sign and return. Then on to the next. All this done by myself. Also attended an event and had 2 FTF
Mission 1 and 2 were achieved and I had a best day of 153 caches. All this done by myself.
Day 4 Wakari to Ashley Gorge 54 caches found including 1 of the targets. Just a short walk from my camp. After signing I went and enjoyed the view. Thank you for the placement.

Pays to look at map and read hint before charging off down tracks! Quick find when we did the sensible thing! Thanks for the cache. #3430
We were in Christchurch for a few days to help one of my sisters celebrate a significant birthday. With the celebrations over we were heading for home with the plan of finding a few caches along the way.
Neither of us have been along this road before, so it was great to be able to have a bit of time to explore the area courtesy of the cache owners who have placed caches that enable us to stop and have a look around.
This is an awesome area, with lots of people enjoying it today. We went for a wee walk and soon identified GZ and the cache was soon found and the log signed.
We spent a bit of time enjoying the views of the river before carrying on with our trip home.
Thank you for placing the cache and of course thank you for the smilie.

Out for the day checking up on some of our caches between Kaiapoi/Rangiora and Oxford. Fixed up 14 and found 3. All in all a good day. This one needed drying out and the logbook replacing. The Treetech people were working nearby but out of sight. Rodney and Iris.
We are heading over to attend the CITO tomorrow at Woodend and we havent been this way since we were on the Tinker trail in Jan 2015 so there are some more caches to clean up this way. The cache was quickly found but was all slimy and we couldnt sign (see photo) Too bad I didnt see that it needed maintenance or we wouldve replaced the logbook for you. This one needs some love guys. Thanks for placing the cache and adding to our smilies
I was able to spot a promising looking hint item while my GPSr was still trying to work out where to direct me. This was a nice wee walk; I didn't want to have to travel too much further on such a warm day. TFTC, Sallies.
Quite possibly the easiest yet.gotta love the gorge tho. Great swimming and picnic area
Coming to the tail end of our two weeks on honeymoon traveling around the South Island of NZ. After spending the night at Cragieburn Shelter bunkered down with all the rain and wind about we didn't expect to see much today but fortunately the rain eased and the clouds lifted and we were able to find a few caches along our travels.
A quick stroll through the forest brought us to this cache. Easy find but the container had a lot of water in it. Log book was still reasonably dry but CO might want to check in soon.

Nice one! I came here with GeoYoungling #3 on our one-night camping trip. Nice walk up, and no one around. We had a nice dip in the river earlier with the rest of the family, and we both needed a nice walk. He made the find, and was happy! All in good shape!

Jess.daphne, OrangePeel104 and I spent a fantastic sunny summer day caching our way to Ashley Gorge. We grabbed this one after we'd had a swim. It took a bit of a walk from the swimming hole but after spending so much time in the chilly water it was pretty refreshing. We signed the log as JeJeOp. Tftc.
Found with injeanious and orangepeel104 after a great swim in the river. Thanks for the cache!
Got it after a refreshing float in the gorge:-) Collected with Jess.Daphene and Ingeanous! Team signing JeJeOP. TFCT:-)
Found it, thanks! Was a great find for my daughters third cache and my nieces first! (Both aged 7).

A beautiful day, and a baby that needed to be sleeping, so I decided to head off for a drive to try get her off to sleep, and find some caches too. Multi tasking!! - Leaving the house is easier to get her to sleep - either by walking with her or driving, so perfect excuse to give hubby for all my caching now! Haha!
Managed to get 17 in the end - not too bad! Most were pretty easy too! Plus baby had 2 sleeps! A 45 min one, and then slept the whole way home from the last cache, and is still sleeping as I'm doing the logging! Whooo!
I told myself - if the baby is sleeping, there's no way I'm taking her out of the car seat - I'm just finding the PnGs... but looked in the back, and she wasn't sleeping as we entered the reserve - perfect. But by the time I parked - she was sleeping!! How did that happen?! I decided too bad, I'd risk pulling her out to find the cache - risk her waking up... but she was already in such a deep sleep that she slept as we walked to the cache, checked out the view, found the cache, signed, returned, and walked back to the car, plus got put back into the carseat! Sweet!!

71. Found this one a long time ago with Poppa and Grandma, the cache owners. Logging today because I remembered it! Stella/Starza.
A large picnic area and plenty of routes to take vis car to get close to the cache. A nice surprise to recognise the previous logger.
A nice spot here, happy to pick up an older cache like this one. Dropped off a GC so it can continue its journey. TFTC
Nice stroll up from the camping ground. Looking forward to seeing the giant trees on the way back down. Tftc.
A quick find after a lovely walk through the forest.
Perfect way to spend Boxing Day.

Wednesday after the Mega, we were off to Glentui for a nice daywalk. And on the way back, by special request we stopped at this older cache, just because. Worth while too - we got to expore this well set-up picnic and camping area. Must be a wonderful place to come with children in summer! After finding the cache we had afternoon tea at one of the picnic tables and enjoyed the lack of sandflies.
After a lovely picnic lunch we decided to grab a few more smiley faces, an easy find in a tranquil setting. TFTC
Found with TipsyTrout on a short walk after a picnic lunch. We enjoyed the views from the lookout. Used to come here as kids and tube down the river - great memories! Thanks for placing a cache here.
Visited this picnic area on a family reunion. Enjoyed the short walk to the lookout. Easy find. TFTC
Out on an Easter Cache hunt where it was all about the numbers.
Day 1. Left Nelson at 6am. Know how to hold em completed by lunch. Collected a few between Kumara and Arthurs Pass and then it was time to put the GPS away and head to the camping ground to put up the tent.
Once my home for the next two nights was in order I could go walkies to this very scenic spot.
Cache #98 of 102 for me today.

On a picnic with friends. We walked up to the lookout and then along the river, and found a nice spot for swimming. Beautiful weather, clouds came in just the right time to shadow the hot sun. TFTC.
Lovely spot. Doing a few caches today while waiting for Mr twosharpe to run the bedrock 50 ultramarathon. TFTC
Remember swimming in this river when I was much younger and must bring the kids here to do the same. Lovely spot! Found with VictoriousOne while hubby was off running the Bedrock50 Ultramarathon.
Found with quinella- then dropped down to the river for a swim- except quinella brought his togs and forgot mine !! Geodog enjoyed it too- first time here. Tftc
We walked passed a wedding. What a great day for it. Thanks for bringing us to a lovely area to view the river. We couldn't resist a paddle in the river, followed by an icecream at Oxford. Yum yum.
Today's road trip started out west of the city, first cache found at Charing Cross, then Darfield, Oxford, Glentui and Loburn, as well as a couple of gorges thrown in there for good measure, and back home just on dark. 4 DNFs for the day, 29 finds. Short walk from the end of the road in the reserve for a quick find and a great view of the river just past GZ. TFTC (1533)
