#21292 - 12:02:59 PM; Out on a short caching mission again today to progress a couple of personal challenges I'm chipping away at. After dropping the geohoney at the nearby retail emporium, I set off to see what I could find in the surrounding area. Collected a couple of caches, including this one. Log signed and cache replaced as found. All in good shape here. TFTC The Farmers 5 Smile

On the way home now, but who can resist a classic Farmers 5 hide on the way back? Not me it appears!Parked within metres of this cache and soon started a search.Initially chased a red herring for a bit, but a particular comment from a previous finder made my gears turn, and then my comprehensive knowledge of Canberra caches (actually its not that good lol, but enough clearly!) gave me a idea which soon returned the cache! Aha, nice work!Signed the log and replaced the sneaky bugger! Thanks for placing this cache The Farmers 5! Always a pleasure to find one of yours!

Unfortunately theres a suspicious Muggle sitting in his car idling next to GZ, Im not sure he even cared once I walked out of view but my bright torchlight was giving me away and making anxious. Ill endeavour to be back!

I always look for caches I can catch public transport to, and this is one of them. Besides, Hindmarsh Drive is a horror to cycle over (read walk for me). I caught the Number 6 bus to near Hindmarsh Drive and then walked the short distance to this cache. After I crossed to Ainsworth Street, I was passed by bus Numbers 60 and 61 , so I could have caught buses most of the way, but I walked this section. A tricky cache and twice I dismantled the red-herring. It took me a while to find, even though I have two caches hidden similarly , but finally I spotted it. Cache and log are good. Then I bought an ice block, before retracing my steps back to catch the bus home. TFTC The Farmers 5.

Found with fitzy. Another day out and about enjoying the warmth and daylight savings while we can. All caches were found in good condition unless otherwise stated. We were really happy to find this one straight away. Thanks The Farmers 5.

34,227. Found with minniek during a quick jaunt around Canberra.Another afternoon caching run around Canberra as we enjoy and use daylight savings to our caching advantage. We will miss it once the darkness returns after work hours. This was a fun and interesting cache to do. We had pre-read all the logs as it seemed this was a tough cache to crack. We parked right near GZ [ pole position you could say Smile ] and I looked in the first spot - and there was the cache. Huh ? What ? Maybe it was a decoy - but No it was the real deal - Cool ! Stamped the log, replaced the cache, then headed back to the car and home. Thanks The Farmers 5 !! Fav Point for a nicely set up cache and interesting location.

Im reading the book on artic explorers and theres a plaque here at SH commemorating Mawson. I spent many mins here trying to find cache without looking like a car thief, timing my searches when there was no muggle activity. This was hard, and with a PAF on standby, cache was found. Even though I was getting quite frustrated, when cache found I was pretty impressed by the hide. Tftc

This was a very well hidden cache. I loved the spot it was hiding in. The only downside here is the irrigation system is suffering someone from a tricky find. I looked around for a bit also investigated the sprinkler system till I eventually spotted the cache from a good angle. Thank you so much for another great hide The Farmers 5 for putting the cache out and maintaining it.

It took me a few minutes to spot it. TFTH

Out Thai way for an appointment and thought we had time for this one.

Could see a few potential looking spots that the CO would have utilised for a cache hide, but the came up empty. Noticed the time and though we should get going to ensure we were late for our appointment so PAF to finally find it. Should have expanded my search a little further.

Nice little hide for a suburban cache. Tftc!!!

Hi there Farmers 5. Today Barb2e and I were out briefly to grab a cache as I have at last returned to the ACT even if it is ever so briefly. It took us some time and I nearly caused some damage nearby. Barb2e found the cache and our names now appear in the log. TFTC SL

Find # 8419

Making the most of the opportunity to duck out for a few hours of caching fun. Seeking out the occasional challenge or two, or trying to mop up as many solves as I can to keep that long list under control. Seems to increase faster than it decreases

SNEAKY LITTLE ONE
couldn’t log as it was an impromptu seeking out to introduce my nephew to geocaching & we didn’t have a pen with us.

I had a previous DNF here. Today, when I parked the car the occupant in thenext car over looked like he was settled for a longer session. I went to the IGA and bought crackers and cheese ad settled myself in my car, ready to outait him. It took a little while, but he eventually packed up and left. I searched a while and eventually PAF.

Apparently I missed it by THIS much (we are talking centimetres.

Given the abysmal weather I signed the log in the car before braving the elements again for the return.

Now I just hve to clean up the cracker mess in my car. (No cheese left).

Headed out this way after the event to pick up some cold beverages and decided to swing by this one afterwards while playing another game.
Quick find at this one, after reading the logs before we got here we thought we might have been in for a longer search but that was not the case.

Thanks for the hide The Farmers 5

Nice hide. I'm actually trying to walk our dogs, but it's raining and I hate the smell of wet dog. I hope the dogs don't mind the smell of wet Mister JD. I found this one relatively easily. I found the dummy, and decided that there were only a few viable hiding spots, and was lucky first time. Thanks, Farmers 5.

Looked for quite a while and thought I had hit jackpot with something I found near GZ, but alas, it was empty and whilst independent of the surrounding thingies, not a cache.
I employed all the detection skills I gained by finding other caches of the CO, but still came up empty handed.
A shame really, because at this time of the day, eh, night, it was quite muggles free.

Will have to come back another time.

Found after the CC event at Namarag Nature Reserve. On the way home I dropped by these shops for a quick find at GZ. Nicely hidden; and at a sculpture I haven't seen before (but that's because I haven't been to Swinger Hill much)! TFTC TF5!

Thursday took me to civic for a morning get together with colleagues. This is always fun as I don't have to worry about fixing anything at the moment. I then went to do some caches that were supposed to be in the inner south, but managed to get well further south than I expected and also found a cache I DNFed last week. It was a great days caching.

I have been along here several times, but I have never stopped at these shops and seen this sculpture. I found a few interesting things before I eventually saw this well blended in cache. It really is a matter of angles, and I was very happy once I saw it.

Thanks for the cache The Farmers 5

Took me a little while to find this one, as my coordinates had me a bit further from GZ than I expected. After eventually making the assumption that the CO usually plans for his cache hides to be as close as possible to the subject of the listing, I ignored the GPS and zeroed in my search on a different spot instead. The cache was located quite quickly after this! Reminds me of an older cache hide in Canberra which is identical but uses a slightly bigger container, and maybe even another Farmers 5 cache too Big Grin

Thanks for bringing me here! Haven't seen this sculpture before, so was glad to discover it

#3217 Visited this one with DeadThief and after about 10 minutes of checking anything we could see or get our hands on we were still clueless. As I sat down to review the situation DT came up with the find in a place I had already looked and failed. Clearly it comes down to the angle of the view. Thanks TF5.

Following today's lunch time event, a few caching teams tackled the nearby caches published today. Once completed, I visited a few more caches on the south side on my own. My second visit here (armed with a hint this time). I spent a good 10 minutes on my first visit looking at/in the many possible hiding spots including the right one without seeing the cache. A quick find this time. TFTC.

Well, that was a tricky hide! And the pouring rain didn't help! Mind you it did help in keeping the muggles away. Managed to keep the log dry. Thanks for the interesting location and cache The Farmers 5.

A solo [FTF] thismorning on the way back home from orienteering. A good time for a search, with the nearby shops bereft of customers we didn't feel too exposed. Cache is nicely hidden at GZ, but fortunately I spotted it after my second look in that spot.

A cool piece of art - thanks for the highlighting this spot, Farmers 5!
