I had a plan to come down from Auckland with supernannny to do the HRT trail from Te Aroha to Matamata. But she had offered to drive us everywhere in her hybrid car which is soo cheap to run. which was really nice of her. It was pouring with rain when she arrived to pick me up at 7am, did some caches along the way apart from the power trail, visited a friend in Hamilton for a much needed coffee, then home about 10pm. When we got here, there was a lonely young lady selling coffee, under a bit of cover, didn't look like she was going to sell much. Walked over to GZ, first thing we saw was a white pill bottle, out in the open, thought that might have been the cache, but it wasn't. Supernannnyt has done the cache before but forgot just what type it is, and jumped when she put her hand on it, I had to laugh... signed in and I put it back under, thanks for the cache leiusandkyla.
Unfortunately couldn't find this one, there was a jar that looked like it could hold something hut nothing was in it.
Driven past here so many times and never stopped before. Finally stopped and grabbed cache. Lots of litter around. Tftc
This one has scurried in quite far into its hidy hole! We were able to check with the phone video to detect and grab. Clever cache! Have left it hopefully easier for the next exterminator! Tftc
**21,086**Time to start heading home now but wouldn't you know it there is a cache not too far from where we are, so it would have been rude not to stop and collect it. Cache quickly located and then we were back on the road again - heading home! TFTC
Am in need of some walking time to prepare for an upcoming tramp around Stewart Island. Was suggested to attempt the Mt Williamson walk just after the Bombay Hills. This walk would be a good starter and as there were several caches on the walk it all made sense. So headed out with Mr HeMaLuDy for an attempt. Having completed this relatively easily and with most of the afternoon free we decided to attempt a few more caches. Eventually ending up as far south as Morrinsville... Mad cachers... NAH!Parked close to GZ and saw something sticking out which revealed the horrid cache container.Fav point added for the container type.TFTC
This one nearly got away. I initially approached from the wrong direction and after investigating several empty traps, I realised there was another approach. And then the little blighter was snared. Thanks for the fun.
This took me a few minutes to orientate and locate then I smelt a rat so to speak thanks for the novel camo and cache
Heading home from a weekend away in Tauranga - Feel they need to improve there pest control here - TFTC
A quick find, I spotted the tail end of it sticking out but almost decapitated the cache trying to remove it.Great idea for a cache.
Was the 1st to write on the new paper.how excited my kids were to find it,and what a great capsule it was in
New log, double bagged (again ).
Please take care to snap the bags shut properly, and don't put cache in too far when replacing
Thanks Cachers!

Not the most salubrious area.
Cache container was very appropriate.
Log is very wet although we managed to sign it.

Was heading back north through this way today, and made the slight detour off the main highway to visit here. Very quiet this morning and great coords quickly lead me to find this cheeky critter, TFTC
After climbing Mt William we had a quick stop here.
I squealled as Jag retrieved the cache.
Fav point.

A quick stop here with Net61 on our way to Hunua. As no one was using the hall today, we were able to park very close to gz. It didn’t take long for MrsJAG to get her hands on this cache and as she passed it to Net to sign, Net let out a loud squeal!!!! Thanks for a fun cache
Well that was a surprise, great cache, good hide, worth a fav for the shrieking! Tftc
I was heading to Waihi for a couple of days and stopped to look for this cache on the way past, soon spotting something creepy poking out at GZ! A neat hide, TFTC!
Drowned rat indeed! Log replaced, please take care to replace as found to try and keep this log nice and dry

Heading home to the East coast and had some spare time to cache. Enjoyed finding this cache particularly as I have an identical twin in one of my hides. Cache all fine. Thanks for the smiley
We have been wanting to look for this one since it came out and stopped off this morning on our way to Tauranga.
What an awesome second hide. We had an idea about what it might be but were still a bit startled when we pulled out the container. So nicely done.
Fortunately there were no muggles around today so we didn't need to be stealthy.
Thanks for a great hide.

A quick stop en route to the BOP. We are always on the lookout for new caches as we often travel this way. The youngest FRIWI particularly enjoyed this hide. TFTC and happy new year
Thanks CocoKyla!
I admit I got a bit of a shock when I put my hand " under" and pulled this out!
Good one!
Looking forward to more of your hides!

Sorry for the delay in logging - Mr HeMaLuDy was back in the area today and discovered all of the caches he was looking at we had already found but somehow forgotten to log online. I blame the very early start we had that day, dropping the teens in Ngatea by 6 am (from South Auckland). We then cached our way home again. We were just up the road searching for a cache when the notification for this came through so we jumped in the car and headed to GZ. The were a number of people around setting up for the market, but they were all busy and took no notice of us. We made a quick find, very happy to see a blank log (not often we are in such a "right place at the right time" moment). Then headed back to the nearby cache to continue our journey home. {FTF}
after a bit of a detour so my fellow cacher could collect a cache a bit out of the way.
we thought lets continue the detour and head to this cache.
market day here but the rain was on our side.
people were packing up so we just went for it.
soon found but location of cache was not the best.
hollow in ground that was already filling up with water.
log sheet damp but able to sign.

Markets set up this morning with stalls making it difficult to access, if anyone is making a stop today I'd wait til the markets have packed up !
With Gap (of Fap and Gap)… Rain has a funny way of bringing changes to plans. Our new arrangement has just taken shape!
Yes, a market had been in full swing, but by 1PM, the rain had driven most of the vendors to distraction. A lot were in the throes of packing up. We’re pretty good at stealth and used our cunning to make the extraction. The cache was sitting in a small depression and water had seeped in - the logbook was already damp. We signed in, replaced, and retreated to the vehicle. Thanks leiusandkyla and TFTC.
